VREEMDE LICHTSTRALEN AAN DE HEMEL

Er lijkt maar geen eind te komen aan vreemde verschijnselen op de grond als ook in de lucht. 

Zo worden er nu weer vreemde stralen aan de hemel waargenomen op verschillende plekken en niemand weet wat het is of waar het vandaan komt. 

Wij leven in bijzondere tijden, want bijna iedere dag is er wel iets ongewoons te ontdekken op de planeet die wij aarde noemen.

Zo was er op 6 april het volgende waar te nemen bij Rockwall in de Amerikaanse staat Texas. Een straal die vanuit de aarde naar de hemel gaat of andersom.

Het is gefilmd vanuit een auto die daar op dat moment reed: 


Twee dagen later was het opnieuw raak in de buurt van Phoenix in de staat Arizona en dit keer zag het er zo uit:

In beide gevallen heeft niemand een zinnige verklaring kunnen bedenken en ook van deze lichtstraal bestaat een korte video. 

 

Dit is niet de eerste keer dat dit soort verschijnselen zich voordoen. Het is wat de laatste jaren regelmatig voorkomt en nog steeds heeft niemand er een verklaring voor.

Hieronder een deel uit een eerder artikel van ongeveer anderhalf jaar geleden met vergelijkbare verschijnselen.

Zo zagen de bewoners van een klein plaatsje in de buurt van het Argentijnse Buenos Aires op 30 december een vreemde lichtstraal die naar de hemel wees. 

De lichtstraal schijnt te wijzen naar de lucht waar duidelijke een soort tweede lichtbron naast de zon is waar te nemen, precies op de plek waar we de planeet Helion zagen. 

Is het dan vergezocht om te denken dat de aarde of iets op de planeet reageert, dat er iets ontwaakt, door de komst van dit zonnestelsel.

De laatste jaren is er sprake van nog meer merkwaardige lichtstralen, die dan voornamelijk van piramides en/of vulkanen afkomstig zijn. 

Enkele jaren geleden bijvoorbeeld vreemde lichtstralen boven de beroemde Popocatépetl vulkaan in Mexico.

Ook de oude piramides schijnen wereldwijd weer tot leven te komen en lichtstralen naar de hemel te sturen zoals wij schreven in een eerder artikel: 

Ter vergelijking volgen hieronder enkele foto’s van piramides waar energiestralen zijn gefotografeerd. 

De eerste is een opname vanaf de Bosnische piramide van de Zon.

De volgende is een opname van 24 juni 2009 toen iemand een foto nam van ChiChen Itza piramide, eveneens in Mexico. Deze straal was niet zichtbaar toen de foto werd genomen, maar werd pas later waargenomen toen de afdruk werd bekeken.

De volgende en laatste opname is al wat ouder en genomen in 2000. Ook hier een merkwaardige energie/lichtstraal afkomstig van de Piramide van de Maan, wederom in Mexico.

Niets van dit alles vind je terug in het mainstream journaal van acht uur, noch in die van tien of zes uur. 

De wereld wordt kunstmatig in slaap gehouden terwijl de elite koortsachtig voorbereidingen treft om de komende storm te overleven. 

Zelfs als je helemaal nergens in gelooft dan moet er toch nu wel zo langzamerhand ergens een belletje gaan rinkelen.

Weird Beams and Glitches in the Sky

A highly unusually beam of light that seemly shoots from the sun has been photographed.

More images of the strange phenomenon show that the beam even shoots through the clouds

It seems the beam is not a lens flare or camera defect as one image shows a blue dot below the beam of the light which is the actual lens flare.

Another unexplained phenomenon has been filmed showing a rare glitch in the sky. At the moment the glitch appears the camera registered a very strange distorted picture from the sky which can be seen in the video.

Aliens may exist in ways we can’t even imagine

The questions about the existence of aliens are one that has been debated for many decades. Humanity has been peering into space for a long time hoping to find proof. Scientists still have not yet found any real proof of the existence of aliens, but then the universe is so big so it might be possible that alien life is too far from Earth to be found. However, a new report suggests that this might not be the case and there might be another possibility as to why evidence of aliens has not been found, people are blind to their existence.

Alien Life Might Be Hiding in Plain Sight

Scientists have been looking for aliens that are human-like. There is a preconceived notion that life exists elsewhere. This is something that could be stopping the ability to detect aliens, and they are hiding in plain sight.

Researchers from the University of Cadiz, Spain came up with the report, and it talks about the idea that alien life exists in a way that human beings simply cannot fathom. The idea is something that is both fascinating along with being frightening. However, if disbelief can be put aside for a few minutes, it does make a lot of sense.

Neuropsychologist, Gabriel de la Torre, co-author of the study suggested that beings of dimensions that the mind is unable to grasp or alien intelligence that is based around energy or dark matter, which is something that makes up about 95% of the universe, is something we are only now starting to glimpse. He went on to say it might be possible that there are other universes in existence and this is something that Stephen Hawking along with other scientists have indicated.

Researchers Undertook Study to Show Humans Are Misguided Due to Expectations

The researchers wanted to prove that human beings are often misguided due to their expectations, so they undertook an experiment and asked 137 people to work out if features and structures in aerial photographs were natural or made by man.

The researchers hid a small image of a gorilla in one of the photographs to find out if the people would be able to spot it. Those taking part did as they were asked, but many of them missed spotting the gorilla because they were not specifically looking for a gorilla in the photos.

The researchers said that this is what is termed “unintentional bias inattentional blindness” and suggests that this is what might be happening to astronomers along with the rest of the scientific community overall. He said that if people do not know what they are looking for, it is likely that they will not spot it. This could apply to those who have been searching for signs of alien life. Alien life could be hiding in plain sight just as the photograph of the gorilla was hiding.

Star Wars’ Yoda Is Real: Master Yoda’s Image Found In 14th Century Manuscript

Just when I thought I’d seen it all. Apparently, Master Yoda From Star Wars is real.

An image of Yoda appears in a medieval manuscript of the fourteenth century, and its the best thing I’ve seen in a while.

Looking at the depiction, it obvious that there are similarities between Yoda and the character found in a manuscript of the Decretals of Gregory IX also known among researchers as the Smithfield Decretals.

It is found in the British Library and was written in the south of France probably between 1300 and 1340 and includes papal letters, doctrine, and ecclesiastical decrees.

The drawing of Yoda is actually part of an interpretation of the biblical story of Samson.

Master Yoda was apparently found by historian Damien Kempf while researching for his new book, Medieval Monsters.

“When I came across this monster, I actually couldn’t believe it. It’s a manuscript that was produced 700 years ago,” Kempf told BBC Radio’s

Nobody knows who this character with greenish complexion, a big skirt, and big ears really is.

However, compared to an image of the Jedi master who was a mentor to the young Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, the two are identical.

The British Library started uploading images like of ancient texts like this one where we can see Yoda in 2010, so it’s not really possible that George Lucas was inspired by ancient manuscripts like these unless of course he actually went through the British Library’s archives when he was creating the first Star Wars movie.

So… how did Yoda come into existence? The make-up artist Stuart Freeborn

based Yoda’s face partly on his own and partly on Albert Einstein’s. Freeborn oversaw the design of the original Jabba the Hutt puppet used in Return of the Jedi, as well as the creation of the Ewoks.

In The Phantom Menace, Yoda was redesigned to look younger.

He was computer-generated for two distant shots but remained mostly a puppet.

The puppet was re-designed by Nick Dudman from Stuart Freeborn’s original design.

Therefore, many people—especially Star Wars Fans—find it would be necessary to clarify who this greenish, Yoga-looking figure really represents, and what he’s doing in an ancient manuscript that dates back to the 14th Century.

Curiously, if you take a look at the ancient manuscript, and compare it to the ‘characters’ from Kempf’s new book, you’ll notice Yoda isn’t the only familiar character around.

You can spot a few more creatures that bear an incredible resemblance to figures of recent times.

Is that a Ferengi from Star Trek?

Could it be that the more rational and methodical searches for extraterrestrial intelligence are overlooking “the gorilla in the room?” A new study suggests it’s possible.

Have you seen the video above? Count how many times the players in white pass the basketball. Watch the video all the way through. What number did you get? And did you see the gorilla? When researchers in the 1990s first showed this video, as part of a test of human beings’ inattentional blindness, more than half the participants did not notice the gorilla. In a way that’s similar, a new study from neuropsychologists suggests that our human culture may not have detected extraterrestrial signals because, according to the study’s first author Gabriel de la Torre of the University of Cádiz, when we think of other intelligent beings, we tend to see them through our unique human perceptions and consciousness:

… We are limited by our sui generis vision of the world, and it’s hard for us to admit it. What we are trying to do … is to contemplate other possibilities, for example, beings of dimensions that our mind cannot grasp; or intelligences based on dark matter or energy forms, which make up almost 95% of the universe and which we are only beginning to glimpse. There is even the possibility that other universes exist, as the texts of Stephen Hawking and other scientists indicate.

De la Torre and co-author Manuel García, also of the University of Cádiz, have an article related to this subject coming out in May 2018 in the peer-reviewed journal Acta Astronautica (view article online).

The authors – who say they prefer to avoid the terms extraterrestrial or alien and instead use the more generic term non-terrestrial – state that our own neurophysiology, psychology and consciousness can play an important role in the search for non-terrestrial civilizations. In relation to this, they conducted an experiment with 137 people, who had to distinguish aerial photographs with artificial structures (buildings, roads …) from others with natural elements (mountains, rivers …).

In one of the images, shown below, a tiny character disguised as a gorilla was inserted to see if the participants noticed.

The result was similar to those in the 1990s gorillia-video study, described at the top of this post. In other words, many did not notice the guy in the gorilla costume. But De La Torre’s study found a difference in perception of the gorilla between people with different cognitive styles. De La Torre said:

…we assessed the participants with a series of questions to determine their cognitive style (if they were more intuitive or rational), and it turned out that the intuitive individuals identified the gorilla of our photo more times than those more rational and methodical.

If we transfer this to the problem of searching for other non-terrestrial intelligences, the question arises about whether our current strategy may result in us not perceiving the gorilla. Our traditional conception of space is limited by our brain, and we may have the signs above and be unable to see them. Maybe we’re not looking in the right direction.

The authors’ paper also mentioned another example, drawn from Dawn spacecraft images of the dwarf planet Ceres, which is famous for its bright spots. Within the Ceres crater Occator, there appears an apparently geometric figure. De La Torre said:

Our structured mind tells us that this structure looks like a triangle with a square inside, something that theoretically is not possible in Ceres, but maybe we are seeing things where there are none, what in psychology is called pareidolia.

However, De La Torre said, there is another possibility:

The opposite could also be true. We can have the signal in front of us and not perceive it or be unable to identify it. If this happened, it would be an example of the cosmic gorilla effect. In fact, it could have happened in the past or it could be happening right now.

Bottom line: A new study from neuropsychologists suggests that our human culture may not have detected extraterrestrial signals because, when we think of other intelligent beings, we tend to see them through the filter of our own human perceptions and consciousness. There could be a range of possibilities that we’re not considering.

NASA’s STS 115 Mission: When A UFO Prevented The Space Shuttle From Returning Home

One of the most fascinating UFO videos ever filmed by NASA was recorded during space shuttle Atlantis’ trip to the International Space Station in September of 2006.

During the 13-day mission, a number of mysterious objects were spotted by the Astronauts, and one in particular sighting caused Atlantis to delay their return to Earth.

On September 19, 11 days into the mission, when the crew was preparing for their return home, astronauts aboard the shuttle informed the Mission Control Center that, following the test of the reaction control system, an object was seen moving in a co-orbital path with the Orbiter. The astronauts spotted the object using an on-board TV camera, but unfortunately the resolution of the images was not high enough to identify the object.

In a news report by Space.com from September 19 dubbed ‘Atlantis Landing Delayed After Mystery Object Spotted,’ we can see the importance not only NASA, but Astronauts gave to the object, and the confusion it created.

“The question is ‘What is it?'” NASA’s shuttle program manager Wayne Hale said at the time, adding that the object – which appeared small and dark against a blue Earth in the video – could be something as simple as ice, ceramic cloth gap-filler, or a piece of harmless shim stock plastic known to be dangling from Atlantis’ heat shield. “Is it something benign like that, which we have seen before, or is it something more critical that we should pay attention to?”

But was it only ice, ceramic cloth gap-filler, or a piece of harmless shim stock plastic known to be dangling from Atlantis’ heat shield? Or is it possible that the mysterious object may have been something far more mysterious?

NASA Spaceflight wrote about the mystery object the same day as the space.com article was released stating that:

“Shuttle Atlantis’ return home has been moved back a day, until Thursday morning, due to poor weather at the Kennedy Space Center, and continued analysis by NASA managers/Tiger Team to ascertain what an Unidentified Falling Object (UFO) may be after it was spotted near the orbiter.”

Space Debris? UFO Researchers think not.

Speaking to NASA Spaceflight at the time, Wayne Hale said: “‘It appears to be tumbling, and it also appears to be rectangular in shape, but we have no scale to reference with that photography – so we still have a bit of a mystery there.”

But despite trying to understand what it was, no one could say for sure. What NASA did know at the time is that nothing was missing from the orbited:

“We have already cleared many parts of the orbiter (through that data),” confirmed Hale. “And we’ve spotted nothing missing.”

But the one object wasn’t alone. Astronauts quickly spotted more mysterious objects near the shuttle.

At the time, Atlantis commander Brent Jett described the objects as two rings, adding that: “It doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen outside the shuttle.”

It is noteworthy to mention that during NASA Space Shuttle program, countless mysterious objects have been spotted not only near NASA’s Space Shuttles but near the International Space Station as well.

The facts about the Majestic 12 and UFO evidence

In December 1984 a package with no return address and an Albuquerque post-mark arrived in Jaime Shandera’s mail in North Hollywood, California. Inside was a roll of 35mm film. When developed, it turned out to contain eight pages of an alleged briefing paper, dated November 18, 1952, in which Vice Adm. Roscoe Hillenkoetter told President-elect Dwight Eisenhower of the recovery of the remains of two crashed spaceships.

In the first of these crashes, in e­arly July 1947, authorities recovered the bodies of four humanoid beings. According to the document, which appended a copy of what was supposed to be the actual executive order, President Harry Truman authorized the creation of a supersecret group called “Majestic 12” (MJ-12 for short) to study the remains.

Acting on a tip from sources who claimed to represent Air Force intelligence, Shandera and his associate William Moore (coauthor of The Roswell Incident) flew to Washington, D.C. They searched the National Archives looking for references in official documents to MJ-12. They found a July 1954 memo from Gen. Robert Cutler, an Eisenhower assistant, referring to an “MJ-12 SSP [Special Studies Project]” to be held at the White House on the 16th of t­hat month.­

In the first of these crashes, in e­arly July 1947, authorities recovered the bodies of four humanoid beings. In the spring of 1987 an unknown individual, allegedly associated with an intelligence agency, gave British writer Timothy Good a copy of the MJ-12 document. Upon learning Good was going to disclose its existence to the press, Moore and Shandera released their copy, along with the Cutler memo. The result was a massive uproar, including coverage in The New York Times and Night line, an FBI investigation, and furious controversy that continues to this day.

For various technical reasons most investigators agree tha­t the MJ-12 document is a forgery, but the identity of the forger remains a deep mystery that even the FBI cannot crack. The forger apparently had access to obscure official information, much of it not even in the public record, leading to suspic­ions that an intelligence agency created the document for disinformation purposes. Whatever the answer, the MJ-12 document is surely the most puzzling hoax in UFO history.

On 24 June, 1947, a civilian pilot flying over the Cascade Mountains in the State of Washington observed nine flying disc-shaped aircraft traveling in formation at a high rate of speed. Although this was not the first known sighting of such objects, it was the first to gain widespread attention in the public media. Hundreds of reports of sightings of similar objects followed. Many of these came from highly credible military and civilian sources. These reports resulted in independent efforts by several different elements of the military to ascertain the nature and purpose of these objects in the interests of national defense. A number of witnesses were interviewed and there were several unsuccessful attempts to utilize aircraft in efforts to pursue reported discs in flight. Public reaction bordered on near hysteria at times.

In spite of these efforts, little of substance was learned about the objects until a local rancher reported that one had crashed in a remote region of New Mexico located approximately seventy-five miles northwest of Roswell Army Air Base (now Walker Field).

On 07 July, 1947, a secret operation was begun to assure recovery of the wreckage of this object for scientific study. During the course of this operation, aerial reconnaissance discovered that four small human-like beings had apparently ejected from the craft at some point before it exploded. These had fallen to earth about two miles east of the wreckage site. All four were dead and badly decomposed due to action by predators and exposure to the elements during the approximately one week time period which had elapsed before their discovery. A special scientific team took charge of removing these bodies for study. (See attachment “C”.) The wreckage of the craft was also removed to several different locations. (See Attachment “B”.) Civilian and military witnesses in the area were debriefed, and news reporters were given the effective cover story that the object had been a misguided weather research balloon.

A covert analytical effort organized by Gen. Twining and Dr. Bush acting on the direct orders of the President, resulted in a preliminary consensus (19 September, 1947) that the disc was most likely a short range reconnaissance craft. This conclusion was based for the most part on the craft’s size and the apparent lack of any identifiable provisioning. (See Attachment “D”.) A similar analysis of the four dead occupants was arranged by Dr. Bronk. It was the tentative conclusions of this group (30 November, 1947) that although these creatures are human-like in appearance, the biological and evolutionary processes responsible for their development has apparently been quite different from those observed or postulated in homo-sapiens. Dr. Bronk’s team has suggested the term “Extra-terrestrial Biological Entities”, or “EBE’s”, be adopted as the standard term of reference for these creatures until such time as a more definitive designation can be agreed upon.

Since it is virtually certain that these craft do not originate in any country on earth, considerable speculation has centered around what their point of origin might be and how they get here. Mars was and remains a possibility, although some scientists, most notably Dr. Menzel, consider it more likely that we are dealing with beings from another solar system entirely.

Numerous examples of what appear to be a form of writing were found in the wreckage. Efforts to decipher these have remained largely unsuccessful. (See Attachment “E”.) Equally unsuccessful have been efforts to determine the method of propulsion or the nature or method of transmission of the power source involved. Research along these lines has been complicated by the complete absence of identifiable wings, propellers, jets, or other conventional methods of propulsion and guidance, as well as a total lack of metallic wiring, vacuum tubes, or similar recognizable electronic components. (See Attachment “F”.) It is assumed that the propulsion unit was completely destroyed by the explosion which caused the crash.

A need for as much additional information as possible about these craft, their performance characteristics and their purpose led to the undertaking known as U. S. Air Force Project SIGN in December, 1947. In order to preserve security, liaison between SIGN and Majestic-12 was limited to two individuals within the Intelligence Division of Air Material Command whose role was to pass along certain types of information through channels. SIGN evolved into Project GRUDGE in December, 1948. The operation is currently being conducted under the code name BLUE BOOK, with liaison maintained through the Air Force officer who is head of the project.

On 06 December, 1950, a second object, probably of similar origin, impacted the earth at high speed in the El Indio – Guerrero area of the Texas – Mexican border after following a long trajectory through the atmosphere. By the time a search team arrived, what remained of the object had been almost totally incinerated. Such material as could be recovered was transported to the A.E.C. facility at Sandia, New Mexico, for study.

Implications for the National Security are of continuing importance in that the motives and ultimate intentions of these visitors remain completely unknown. In addition, a significant upsurge in the surveillance activity of these craft beginning in May and continuing through the autumn of this year has caused considerable concern that new developments may be imminent. It is for these reasons, as well as the obvious international and technological considerations and the ultimate need to avoid a public panic at all costs, that the Majestic-12 Group remains of the unanimous opinion that imposition of the strictest security precautions should continue without interruption into the new administration. At the same time, contingency plan MJ-1949-04P/78 (Top Secret – Eyes Only) should be held in continued readiness should the need to make a public announcement present itself. (See Attachment “G”.)

What Are Good Reasons For The Government To Hide Proof Of Alien Contact?

I am going to try and deal with some potentially realistic scenarios. Keep in mind the government plans for the worst case scenario but hopes for the best. So these describe the worst case scenarios of the public finding out. Any worst-case scenario that is impossible to tame or deal with would indicate it might be best to keep the info hidden until they need to tell us.

Also, we should remember any species that is capable of surviving for the hundreds of years it would take to get here under less than light speed or any species capable of faster than light travel would also be hundreds and hundreds of years more advanced than us. Both long distance slow travel and faster than light travel are so incredibly difficult that it would far exceed our science. So much so that their technology would seem almost like magic to us. It would be like showing someone from the middle ages tv’s, jet planes and open heart surgery. They might have active nanotech, the ability to manipulate gravitons, antimatter, and magnetic monopoles or some other exotic technologies we haven’t even dreamed of yet.

To be very clear: These are hypothetical scenarios based on the question. Personally, I know of no evidence that leads any direct credence to any of these. While each might be possible there is no known evidence of any of these scenarios.

1. Aliens are suspected to have visited but only a very long time ago and there is no evidence of hostility. It would not make sense to get the public up in arms over something that happened hundreds or thousands of years ago. Such a revelation would create a host of issues from religious to political as well as boldening fringe groups, militants, and wackos. Why create an alarm if it was so long ago, there is no evidence they are harmful and we don’t even know if they would come back?
2. Aliens visited but only a few times and there is either no evidence of hostility or not enough to make a determination of if they are potentially friend or foe. In this scenario, the aliens might be peaceful or might not but if you get the whole world and the internet talking about it. You will eventually have high-profile and visible people making stupid or dangerous statements that could be misinterpreted by the aliens. Our movies are bad enough in how we depict aliens but if we have talking heads talking about how we need to put killer satellites in space to defend against what may, in fact, be peaceful aliens we risk creating a more tense situation than is necessary. When the aliens do return they will see us going crazy over aliens.That is probably not the way the government wants to make first contact.
3. Aliens have visited us could be hostile and they have technology that we cannot hope to compete with. This is the worst of all possible scenarios. They seem to be potentially hostile and they have weapons that would make it near impossible to beat them in a conflict. Widespread panic would engulf the world including doomsday cults and those that want to worship the aliens.Religious leaders would have to explain how aliens fit into systems that are inherently human biased.Speculation and talk of how to defend or fight such aliens in the media and public would make a potentially bad situation against a superior enemy worse. It might even move them to make a preemptive strike as opposed to accepting some kind of surrender or treaty.
4. The aliens are friendly, social and responsible. They are working with the government to quietly and slowly acclimate us to the idea of there being aliens without admitting it until we are ready to reduce panic and social unrest. Even if the aliens were good-natured they could easily see how exposing themselves to us could disrupt our societies. Thus they would tell the government to deny any existence but they would encourage us to explore the concepts in movies, TV and books and plays. Occasional leaks would happen because such a coverup cannot be perfect but those only help to seed the idea that aliens might exist.In this scenario, they are actually keeping it quiet so they can do a slow and phased exposure to this idea. First, they would show life on Mars and other planets in a simple and harmless form, and might even fake such results (if these planets are barren) just to get the dialogue going. Once we have accepted life can exist on other planets other revelations would come at a very slow pace maybe once every 5 or 10 years such as receiving a strange but brief broadcast signal. Eventually, these kinds of events and experiences would ramp up until we get to the point of actually trying to send messages to the aliens. The aliens which might very well already be here would pretend to be sending the messages from very far away and thus replies take 10 or more years. Eventually, they would plan for our first public first contact. Using a scenario like this most of the threats from the above scenarios could be avoided.
5. We know that they exist but we only know from receiving very distant and very faint communications. In this scenario, the government would want to tread very lightly and take it very slowly. They might not want to communicate back and confirm we are here until they know more about the aliens. There is no evidence the aliens have ever visited us and based on the source of the communications any trip or message would take a very long time to arrive. They would likely want to wait and learn more as well as ramp up our space spending so we can try to have sufficient technology to deal with any political or hostile situations that might arise.
6. There is evidence of aliens and it points to them either interfering directly with human development or the genetics of all life on our planet. The potential questions and issues surrounding alien-initiated Panspermia are too many to name.It would throw most religions into a tailspin because it would mean life was created by aliens and not by some deity. Many religions would fracture and either declare such evidence to be false and demonic or might even move to start embracing the aliens as gods and worshipping them. Others would leave the churches and yet others might join them seeking some kind of help as they fear the implications of such a revelation. Socially this would mean a great deal of upheaval given the numbers of religious people worldwide.Scientifically it would validate some science and throw others out the window. We would then have to begin looking at how this alien abiogenesis was accomplished and how much of the development of life was altered and how much was from natural evolution. All data on evolution would need to be carefully scrutinized.On top of all of that, the question would be if they are still here or not and how much they have continued to interfere with human development. Are we just a big experiment to them?

No matter how you look at it, although proof of extraterrestrial life in any form especially a sentient form would be both a big boon and a big strife to our society. It would likely be a transformative event on the scale of nuclear bombs. Using nuclear weapons as an example, governments were researching and developing the technology for them for decades and denied any knowledge of their existence until the USA actually dropped the first ones. Such things that shake up a society you do not take lightly. I trust the government would take finding aliens very carefully too.

Much thought has gone into what might be the Potential cultural impact of extraterrestrial contact. These include many additional scenarios to the ones above including loss of identity as a species, being forced to remove weapons of mass destruction, risks from technology we do not yet know how to use, legal issues over personhood and rights of aliens and so much more.

NASA TESS set to reveal thousands of alien worlds around us

Wednesday, April 11, 2018, 5:22 PM - NASA's newest exoplanet hunter is go for launch on Monday, and is set to draw back the veil on our universe, to reveal the multitude of alien planets that are no doubt surrounding us.

Just over nine years ago, NASA launched the Kepler Space Telescope, which has found over 2,600 confirmed alien worlds, and an even greater number of candidate worlds awaiting confirmation from other sources. Kepler accomplished this by initially fixing its gaze down the local branch of our galactic spiral arm, at one specific batch of around 100,000 stars, and then later, under its K2 mission, by adjusting its field of view to a different patch of space every three months.

On Monday, April 16, NASA is scheduled to launch their new Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, aka TESS. 

This new satellite will take up the search from Kepler, but rather than looking at only one patch of the sky, TESS will scan nearly the entire sky around us, during its first two years in space.

How do you find exoplanets?

There are a few ways to tell if there are planets orbiting around a distant star.

You can directly image them, but this is very difficult, and only captures the largest planets, and those in the most distant orbits around their stars. You can watch for a wobble in the star's light, caused as a planet drags the star around in a bit of a stellar dance. Again, this tends to only find the largest planets. You can even use spacetime itself, as a planet's gravity forms a gravitational lens, warping the light from stars directly beyond your star of interest. This, too, only tends to find the largest planets, since they create the largest gravitational lens.

The most successful method at finding planets, and the best at finding smaller, rocky worlds, is the 'transit method'.

Here, you aim a very sensitive, very steady telescope at a distant star, and watch that star, constantly, for as long as possible. If the star's light dims briefly, and does so regularly, by the same amount, it is very likely that you're seeing a planet pass between your telescope and that star.

TESS will use this method as it concentrates on over 200,000 of the closest stars around us, out to about 300 light years, which will be far brighter than most of the stars studied so far by Kepler. This will provide much more information on these targets, as the spacecraft's cameras spend a total of 27 days on each sector of space.

That schedule will limit TESS's ability to spot repeat transits, except for those planets orbiting closely around red dwarf stars, however by scanning nearly all of the space around us, it still has a chance to pick up thousands, to tens of thousands of transiting planets during its initial 2-year scan, and possibly things that we can not even anticipate at this time.

"I don’t think we know everything TESS is going to accomplish," Stephen Rinehart, TESS project scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, said in a NASA statement. "To me, the most exciting part of any mission is the unexpected result, the one that nobody saw coming."

Scientists find salty, Europa-like subglacial lakes

A sealed lake is an ideal place to look for clues about extraterrestrial life — and researchers have just identified a few more.

Life on other planets might not be located the most obvious of places. While researchers used to think that Earth-like planets such as Mars or Venus were capable of holding life, modern research has shown that places like Europa or Enceladus are much more likely to be hospitable (Europa and Enceladus are two frozen moons of Jupiter and Saturn respectively). However, astronomers have evidence that beneath the frozen surface lies a vast ocean of liquid where life may very well thrive. Researchers want to explore this avenue before actually landing a shuttle on the surface of these moons (which may take a very long time) and the best way to do that is by studying subglacial lakes.

Subglacial lakes are bodies of water perfectly sealed under a glacier — typically an ice cap or ice sheet. There are 400 known subglacial lakes in the world, most of which can be found in Antarctica, with Lake Vostok being probably the most well known. Since they’re sealed off from the rest of the world, life can develop and adapt independently — this essentially means that subglacial lakes are potentially unique microbial habitats which can provide information about how life might have developed on places like Europa. Now, lead author Anja Rutishauser, a Ph.D. student at the University of Alberta, has found the first subglacial lakes in the Canadian High Arctic.

“If there is microbial life in these lakes, it has likely been under the ice for at least 120,000 years, so it likely evolved in isolation,” Rutishauser said. “If we can collect a sample of the water, we may determine whether microbial life exists, how it evolved, and how it continues to live in this cold environment with no connection to the atmosphere.”

What makes these newly discovered lakes extra special is that they seem to contain very salty water — all other subglacial lakes we know of are thought to contain freshwater, or only mildly saline water. All subglacial lakes are good analogs for life beyond Earth, but the hypersaline nature of these newly discovered lakes makes them particularly tantalizing analogs for ice-covered moons in our solar system, according to the researchers. There is strong evidence that Jupiter’s icy moon Europa contains hypersaline water.

The lake was discovered using remote sensing, which is promising, especially considering that NASA’s Europa Clipper mission, which is set to launch sometime in the 2020s and take samples from Europa, will use similar remote sensing techniques. An analysis of the radar data shows that the lakes are located 550 to 750 meters beneath the Devon Ice Cap, one of the largest ice caps in the Canadian Arctic. They’ve not had contact with the outside world for tens of thousands of years.

“If there is microbial life in these lakes, it has likely been under the ice for at least 120,000 years, so it likely evolved in isolation,” Rutishauser said. “If we can collect a sample of the water, we may determine whether microbial life exists, how it evolved, and how it continues to live in this cold environment with no connection to the atmosphere.”

Now, researchers would like to sample this environment, which is probably more complicated than you’d expect. It’s not just drilling through hundreds of meters (or perhaps even kilometers) of ice that’s problematic: there’s also the matter of contamination — if a unique microbial environment does exist, the last thing you’d want to do is contaminate it.

NASA ontdekte al duizenden exoplaneten met de Kepler-telescoop, maar die onderzocht slecht een smalle, diepe regio. TESS zal een gebied afspeuren dat honderden keren groter is, en veel dichter bij de Aarde, op zoek naar mogelijk leefbare planeten.

“We leerden van Kepler dat er aan de hemel meer planeten dan sterren zijn en nu zal TESS ons de ogen openen voor een brede waaier aan planeten rondom de meest nabijgelegen sterren”, zegt Paul Hertz, directeur van de afdeling astrofysica bij NASA in een persbericht.

Kepler vs. TESS

De Kepler-telescoop onderzocht 150.000 sterren op zoek naar exoplaneten die eromheen cirkelen. De telescoop speurde daarbij een gebied ter grootte van 0,25 procent van de nachtelijke hemel af dat 3000 lichtjaren diep is. Daarbij ontdekte hij een vijftigtal rotsachtige, aardeachtige planeten, waarvan er tien mogelijk bewoonbaar zijn, en 4000 mogelijke andere planeten sinds de lancering in 2009. Met een artificiële intelligentie-algoritme van Google werden in die data nog meer kandidaat-planeten aangetroffen.

TESS zal gedurende twee jaar 200.000 sterren aan ongeveer 85 procent van de nachtelijke hemel onderzoeken die allemaal amper minder dan 300 lichtjaren van ons verwijderd zijn en zo’n 30 tot 100 keer krachtiger de sterren die Kepler bestudeerde. 

Transitiemethode

De telescoop hanteert de transitiemethode en detecteert exoplaneten door op zoek te gaan naar dipjes in het zichtbare licht van de sterren. Als die dipjes repetitief zijn en een vast tijdsinterval hebben, kan dat wijzen op een planeet of planeten die rond een ster cirkelen.

“TESS zal duizenden planeten ontdekken en is bovendien specifiek ontworpen om een groep kleine planeten te vinden die rond kleine sterren draaien”, zo valt te lezen op een website van het project. Onderzoekers verwachten een 300-tal planeten te vinden die zo groot zijn als de Aarde of als een superaarde: maximaal twee keer zo groot als de Aarde.

Opvolging

De James Webb-ruimtetelescoop die vanaf 2020 de Hubble-ruimtetelescoop moet vervangen en het grootste ruimteobservatorium zal zijn dat ooit gelanceerd werd, zal de data van TESS vervolgens verder onderzoeken en de meest interessante nabijgelegen rotsachtige planeten bestuderen.

Met wat geluk zal de James Webb-telescoop zelfs licht opvangen van de atmosfeer van een exoplaneet en zo indirect bewijs vinden voor buitenaards leven.

Where are the aliens? Enrico Fermi called the fact that there are so many stars and yet no aliens visiting us a paradox. Perhaps the second half of the paradox is wrong … aliens exist and are living amongst us but we’re so distracted by watching what we know that we complete ignore them. That’s the premise behind the Cosmic Gorilla Effect, and a new study suggests that a simple video experiment with athletes and an ape may prove that we’re not alone … just oblivious.

“The cosmic gorilla effect or the problem of undetected non terrestrial intelligent signals” is the title of a new studypublished in the journal Acta Astronautica. The “gorilla effect” refers to a famous experiment conducted by Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons – cognitive psychologists and authors of The Invisible Gorilla: How Our Intuitions Deceive Us. A video (seen here) shows six people – three in black shirts and three in white – passing basketballs to only those wearing the same colored shirts. The participant is instructed to count how many times the people in white shirts pass the ball. At the end, they’re asked for their total, given the correct answer, and then asked another very embarrassing question:

“But did you see the gorilla?”

Yes, a gorilla walked between the players and most people are so focused on counting that they miss it completely. The experiment is often used to describe situations like the unreliability of witnesses at crime scenes who are often focused on something else. In their new study, neuropsychologists Gabriel de la Torre and Manuel García from the University of Cádiz in Spain use a “cosmic” version of the gorilla effect to explain why we may not see the extraterrestrials walking through the scenery of our lives.

“If we transfer this to the problem of searching for other non-terrestrial intelligences, the question arises about whether our current strategy may result in us not perceiving the gorilla. Our traditional conception of space is limited by our brain, and we may have the signs above and be unable to see them. Maybe we’re not looking in the right direction.”

Garcia and de la Torre conducted their own experiment – asking volunteers to differentiate between aerial views of buildings and nature scenes while hiding a tiny gorilla in one of them. Intuitive people noticed the gorilla more often than those who saw themselves as logical or methodical. One way they explained this is by the concept of ‘reverse pareidolia. Pareidolia is the tendency to see something real or significant in a random array of shapes – the ‘face of Jesus on a tortilla’ or pyramids, buildings or animals in blurry photographs from the surface of Mars. In reverse pareidolia, we’re looking so hard for extraterrestrial beings we’re familiar with (greys, reptilians, robots, etc.) that we completely miss things that resemble nothing we’ve ever encountered. Instead of seeing things where there are none, we’re not seeing things where there are some.

The “cosmic gorilla effect” is entirely plausible, especially when you throw in the ideas of multiple dimensions and the existence of dark matter. However, is it true? Or are we in the “zoo hypothesis” with ETs who would be visible to us but intentionally hide themselves while they observe us?

Here’s another experiment for you. Somewhere hidden in this article is a great name for band. Did you see it?

As with all things that require vast amounts of manpower and capital, the Chinese are making swift advances in their space program. Despite threatening nearly the entire planet with a falling space station and dropping mysterious surveillance devices onto villages, the Chinese are on their way to becoming global leaders in space exploration. Chinese scientists recently developed plans to ‘colonize’ the moon with silkworms and launch a giant space laser into orbit – you know, for “peaceful” stuff. With all of this growth in their space program, it’s natural that the Chinese might be up to some more shadowy operations behind the scenes. Aren’t we all?

Whatever the Chinese are doing in Vanuatu, it’s got its neighbors spooked. Diplomats from Australia and New Zealand have expressed concern over a growing Chinese military presence on the small island nation. The Sydney Morning Herald notes that “access to open ocean can be useful for testing missile and space capabilities” and that “a future naval or air base in Vanuatu would give China a foothold to coerce Australia, outflank the US and its base on US territory at Guam, and collect intelligence in a regional security crisis.”

Vanuatu has strategic value in the South Pacific.

However, while many outlets are focusing on the militaristic advantages offered by a South Pacific base, the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post recently ran an opinion piece pointing out that the rumored Chinese military installation on the island nation of Vanuatu might actually be some sort of mysterious space monitoring station. Just what are the Chinese up to in Oceania?

According to Beijing-based military expert Zhou Chenming, the base will likely be for used for rocket test flights and other aerospace experiments:

China needs a space control station in the South Pacific because it is going to launch more heavy rockets. The speculation is understandable because whatever projects China sets up overseas now, people will imagine it is going to be a military base, especially since space projects are carried out by the Chinese military.

Zhou points out that given China’s ambition to launch a manned lunar mission in the 2030s, it makes sense for them to establish a space base over open ocean where they won’t have to drop their rocket boosters onto unfortunate villages. What might this base foreshadow about the looming war in space?

How well do you know your U.S. UFO lore? The incident referred to as the “only historically documented UFO sighting in the United States” occurred in what state? If you said “New Mexico,” you’re close … but only because the International UFO Museum Research Center in Roswell, New Mexico, donated funds to pay for a memorial to the incident which occurred on September 1st, 1969, in Sheffield, Massachusetts. There’s a UFO memorial in Sheffield, Massachusetts? Yes, but you’d better get there in a hurry because the local government wants it moved. Again. What do the aliens have to say about this?

“This Governor’s Citation [is] in recognition of the off-world incident on Sept. 1st, 1969, which engaged the Reed Family, which has been established.”

That’s part of the inscription on a 6-foot tall, 5,000-pound concrete memorial located at the end of the Old Covered Bridge, a replica (the original burned down in 1994) of the one Thom Reed, his mother, grandmother and brother crossed over on that hot night and into … something. Reed was 9 at the time and has become the official re-teller of the tale. He told it once again recently on the website All of New England.

“We then continued toward the Sheffield Covered Bridge. It was dark and there was a glow emitting up through the planks as we entered the bridge. As we exited the bridge my grandmother turned and talked to me as I had given my brother candy and she thought he might choke on it. She remarked on the luminescence that still remained behind us. At that point the craft was still beneath the riverbank.”

Reed says the craft rose up and suddenly engulfed the car in a reddish amber light.

“The next thing I remember is being in a building or a large area that resembled an airplane hangar with long fluorescent tubes, providing very low lights, equally spaced out on the top corner walls. My left arm was grabbed by a small bald hairless person. He pushed me out of the room and down a hallway. At that point I remember seeing two large ant-like insects there. They were four and a half feet tall with stick bamboo like legs. Their heads were orangey gold and shaped like a football. “

What’s a football?

The next thing Reed says he remembers is being back in the car. Only his grandmother was conscious and she drove the car back. What they thought was 15 minutes had actually been a couple of hours. They reported the incident to the police the next day and found that at least 20 others had also reported seeing a UFO. A local radio station said they received 40 calls from witnesses. At some point, Reed was said to have taken a lie detector test and got a 99.1 truth rating.

Based on that, the Great Barrington Historical Society declared the UFO sighting “historically significant and true” and money was raised, including a donation from the International UFO Museum Research Center in Roswell which has a wall dedicated to the incident, to create and install the monument at one end of the replica of the bridge.  After a graffiti incident, the stone was moved a few weeks later when officials discovered it was on town property. The new location, 30 feet away on the Pine Island Farm, was eventually updated with two benches and lights and it became the Thom Reed UFO Monument Park. “It’s kind of on town property and no one decided it could go there. The town has bylaws and if we let one place put something up then why can’t someone else? I don’t want that to happen.”

Town Administrator Rhonda LaBombard told the Berkshire Eagle that a recent land survey found that the little park with the big monument is still on a town right-of-way easement and must be moved again or the town will remove it in May. Reed himself is puzzled because LaBombard chose the site herself and farmer Louis Aragi thought it was on his private land.

What’s the problem? Despite the fact that it’s the “only historically documented UFO sighting in the United States” and the subject of six documentaries and numerous TV UFO investigation shows, the little park is probably not the tourist draw Sheffield had hoped it would be, and city officials may be concerned about future vandalism or other problems they don’t want responsibility for.

This couldn’t come at a worse time for Thom Reed. He’s currently working on three novellas based on the sighting, a possible six segment mini-series, and will be speaking at the International UFO Museum’s UFO Festival July 6- 8, 2018, where he’ll discuss the incident and probably his two other UFO encounters.

Maybe while he’s there he should pass the hat for the memorial.

Legendary Astronaut Apparently Spotted A UFO On Way To The Moon

Online UFO enthusiasts are debating whether the legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin ever spotted or sighted an alien spacecraft.

This report goes viral when Aldrin, the second man on the moon, and three others had reportedly passed lie detector tests under strict lab conditions.

The Institute of BioAcoustic Biology in Albany, Ohio reportedly conducted a study which Aldrin, Al Worden, Edgar Mitchell and Gordon Cooper took part. But it had been said that there must be more to this story or less.

Aldrin allegedly said that he spotted an unknown spaceship that had a shape of a letter L on his way to the moon. It was reportedly verified in subsequent lie detector tests that Aldrin was telling the truth.

However, it is impossible to know the integrity of the company that allegedly conducted the tests as no information on their website that could support the claims about Aldrin taking part of the tests.

Also based on the reports of Reddit Q&A, Aldrin also answered questions about the event where he spotted a UFO on his way to the moon was revealed to be in fact three years ago.

In this report of Reddit, they questioned Aldrin whether he believed in aliens and also about the sightings on his way to the moon on Apollo 11.

Aldrin then replied that he sighted a light moving with them on Apollo 11 towards the Moon. He noted that the light could be explained in a lot of ways like it could be a spacecraft of another country or world. He further explained that it could also be the rocket they had separated from, or possibly the 4 panels that moved away when they extracted the lander from the rocket, and they were facing with the two spacecraft. Aldrin did not discount the possibility that the sun reflected at one of those 4 panels. However, in technical terms, the light can be defined as unidentified, according to Aldrin.

According to Aldrin, they studied what they observed, and he wanted to share what happened to the world, but it did not apparently materialize. Many years later, he had a chance to disclose their observations on a television network in another country. However, UFO enthusiasts in the U.S. apparently got angry with him for not giving them the information. Aldrin explained that it was not an alien as he borrowed what Carl Sagan had said; extraordinary observations require extraordinary evidence.

He also stated that there must be life somewhere in billions of other galaxies that are not yet explored.

Aldrin was on the same mission of Neil Armstrong, who was the first man on the moon and known for his quote “That one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Aldrin soon followed Neil’s footsteps, making him the second man on the moon. Armstrong and Aldrin were on the lunar surface for a total of only 21 hours, 36 minutes and 21 seconds.

It’s almost 2018, and the subject of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) or Unidentified Ariel Phenomenon (UAP, a term that seems to be the new “official wording” from government personnel) is now a verified fact within the mainstream. Just as certain as we are of  several different concepts that come from repeatable hard science, or information about other phenomena in other subject areas dealing with observation, we (humanity) are just as certain about UFOs.

When Ex Canadian Defence minister Paul Hellyer said that “UFOs are as real as the airplanes flying overhead,” he wasn’t joking. Documents, along with live testimony from dozens, if not hundreds of people from within “high level” government and intelligence groups have also been speaking about the topic quite publicly.

There are literally too many examples to name, from four star generals, to directors of military contractors like Lockheed Martin, directors of intelligence agencies, heads of major military committee’s, like NATO, and much more.

The latest examples would be Steve Justice, a recently retired 30 year director of Lockheed Skunkworks (aerospace), and now on as a director at To The Stars, who recently stated:

“This is a concept for an international point-to-point transportation craft that will erase the current travel limits of distance and time.  It mimics the capabilities observed in unidentified aerial phenomenon by employing a drive system that alters space-time metric.  We have glimpses of how the physics of this works, but we need to harvest technologies from the Science Division to “realize” the capability.”

By making this statement, he is relaying that there are unidentified craft that are using these capabilities to travel what we would consider to be vast distances.

Sure, witness testimony is not enough to draw a conclusion, but given their positions and long records of “credibility,” it’s almost ridiculous to ignore. If it were one or two people there would be reasons to doubt, but when there are multiple hundreds, we know something is up, especially when their encounters with “UFOs” has already been verified by their employer, the government, and by official previously classified documents.

Since many do not consider witness testimony credible, no matter who it comes from, it’s always important to mention the documents, the evidence of radar trackings and more.

Obviously, this is a topic that still challenges many people, rubs them the wrong way and conflicts with long held belief systems. This has been a pattern with many subjects and new discoveries throughout human history, things change slowly over time, but with our rapid technological development,  which is still increasing at an exponential rate (don’t forget the black budget world), we don’t seem to be that far off. In fact, we already seem to be there.

Remember, UFO doesn’t exactly 100 percent equate to extraterrestrial, however, it’s one of many possibilities and probabilities that has its own evidence to make that assertion.

The documents that have been released by several governments, intelligence agencies and cases via The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) indicate objects and encounters (mostly military encounters) with objects travelling at unattainable speeds, and performing maneuvers that no known aircraft of ours can, in some cases defying our own understanding of physics.

When the F-4 turned away from the object and apparently was no longer a threat to it, the aircraft regained all instrumentation and communications. Another brightly lighted object came out of the original object. The second object headed straight toward the F4. ”  (source)

We even have publications in peer-reviewed journals being put out about extraterrestrial hypothesis exists. Here is one example, here is another.  Here’s another interesting one from 1994 talking about physical evidence related to the phenomenon, which we now have more of today.

Below is a great little talk from Jacques Vallee talking about how can start learning from all of these encounters. He’s a computer scientist and astronomer who has done work for NASA, and more. He’s most table for co-developing the first computerized mapping of Mars and for his work at SRI International on the network information centre for ARPANET.

Government Deception

This would be an appropriate time to state that, obviously, our governments have deceived us on so many levels, it’s more than likely that as more information continues to make its way into the public domain, there will be good reasons to have a heightened sense scepticism when they speak about UFOs and/or extraterrestrials, as with anything else.

The mainstream world is full of twisted agendas and attempts to alter our perception for truth and profit, or other agenda’s that are not really in the people’s best interest, but rather the ‘1 percent’s’ best interest. The global war against drugs, or terrorism are perfect examples. Especially with the fact that ‘false flag’ terrorism has become more transparent.

To get a clear picture of this topic, which is almost impossible to do the deeper you get into it, one must do independent research rather than rely on the same media which has tight ties to corporate and government interests, under the guise of “national security.”

This is not to say that there are not good people, with pure intentions, just doing their job within these arenas. It’s a complicated topic, but when discussing it one must always keep the Deep State in the back of their mind, as it controls the entire geo-political perceptive, in most cases.

There are efforts being made to alert the public, Tom Delonge’s To The Stars effort is one of them, but this is a very compartmentalized topic. He is getting information from those from within the intelligence world, but who are they getting their information from and is it correct? Is it truthful? Or is there some sort of spin on it, for whatever reason? And do those who are relaying this information even realize that there could be as spin?

Who knows what’s really going on.

Are there really legitimate reasons for the cover-up after so many years? Was it justified? I believe humanity is meant to live in transparency, and we and can handle this type of information, and we were meant to receive it. Acknowledging certain truths about the nature of reality is an important step in our human evolution, as it provides opportunities for us to move beyond paradigms of the past, and move forward to where we are supposed to go, and perhaps that is to the stars.

The corporate and financial take-over of our democratic system has contributed to the secrecy, no doubt. This topic has huge technological and intellectual implications that could completely transform our planet and help create new ways of doing things here. And, as with everything else, those who are making billions and trillions off of the old way of doing things might also have a say.

What type of propulsion systems are these craft using?

Sure, we know UFOs are real, but mainstream media (as well as government) have a long history of taking real events and using them for their advantage, and usually do so by twisting our perception what’s really going on.

With this topic, as with every other, we simply can’t rely on government and official intelligence people all the time, with complete credibility. It’s important to remember that there is a lot of disinformation that has infiltrated this field, and one must always use their discernment.

Are They Extraterrestrial?

The existence of UFOs is verified, in several different ways, but extraterrestrial intelligence is still a different story. There are multiple factors that lead to the extraterrestrial hypothesis. As mentioned above, before UFOs were officially “verified,” there was good reason to believe in their existence, and now it’s official. In the same way, there is now evidence to believe that some of these sophisticated craft are in fact extraterrestrial.

Many people, like Lord Admiral Hill-Norton, have come forth expressing the same thing, and have flat out said that they have knowledge of extraterrestrial intelligence as it related to the UFO phenomenon.

Here’s an FBI document  discussing extraterrestrial bodies and craft (page 21 & 22) , here’s an article with an interesting CIA document linked in it referring to extraterrestrial bodies and a military encounter.  There are several examples one can locate within the literature, which are  both benevolent and malevolent in nature.

Below is an interesting discussion featuring Richard Dolan, one of the worlds foremost authorities on the topic. He goes in a little deeper about the extraterrestrial hypothesis. If you want to learn more about the topic, he’s a great place to start.
