Scientists Want To Bring Dinosaurs And Neanderthals Back To Life

Remember that not long ago, scientists said they wanted to clone Mammoths? Well apparently, Mammoths aren’t really that interesting, and as experts say, we could bring back dinosaurs and Neanderthals back to life.

Speaking to Big Think, Dr. Michio Kaku, professor of theoretical physics at the City College of New York, asks what if we could bring back Neanderthals back to life, or a dinosaur, using only their genomes?

Do we have that sort of technology? Technically we could, but the idea of doing so raises a number of problems, the biggest one being Bioethics: is it ethical to clone a Neanderthal? Is it inhumane? And should we even attempt it?

According to Dr. George Church, a geneticist, and director of Harvard University’s Church Labs thinks that not only can we clone a Neanderthal, we can do so in our lifetime.

According to Dr. Church, the only thing we’d need to start cloning ancient humans is “one extremely adventurous human female.”

However, Dr. Church isn’t saying we should attempt cloning a Neanderthal right away, but he does encourage the scientific community should discuss the matter.

Dr. Church believes that with current stem cell technology and our completed sequence of the Neanderthal genome, we are equipped with all the necessary prerequisites to successfully clone a Neanderthal.

The idea of cloning a Neanderthal dates back to 2013, when Dr. Church said it could be possible. Back then, Arthur Caplan, a bioethicist at the NYU Center for Bioethics said that cloning a Neanderthal “lurches too close to exploitation. It rubs up too closely as starting to turn into bringing somebody into existence just as an object of other people’s interest.”

And if we actually manage to clone a Neanderthal—not saying we should—what about trying to clone a living creature that existed on Earth some 65 million years ago? What about trying to clone a dinosaur?

I know what you are thinking: Jurassic Park in real life.

Dr. Kaku believes that successfully cloning a Dinosaur is going to be a really difficult project, not nearly as complicated as cloning a Neanderthal or a Mammoth. However, he notes, that doesn’t mean it is impossible.

According to Dr. Kaku, we need to create a genetic sequence in order to clone dinosaurs. This could be achieved using a supercomputer. According to Dr. Kaku, proteins discovered in the soft tissues of dinosaur femurs resemble those of chickens, frogs, and reptiles, and confirm they are somehow related.

If we manage to produce a genetic sequence, we could then create the necessary prerequisites to clone Dinosaurs though epigenetics.

We’ve got the necessary tools, but should we do it?

When you think about cloning dinosaurs and mammoths there aren’t really that many ethical questions in the way.

However, when it comes down to cloning living human beings, Neanderthals, a lot of issues pop up, the biggest one being how ethical it would be.

Dr. Kaku asks a number of really important questions regarding the cloning of a Neanderthal.

What would society do after bringing a Neanderthal child to life: Should he or she be placed in captivity like some kind of zoo animal? Would they face a lifetime of study? What if the Neanderthal is naturally aggressive — should it be drugged or confined at all times?

Many scientists would agree that attempting to clone a Neanderthal is too inhumane, and we should not even attempt it.

An alien child asking father if there is life on Earth?

DO ALIENS EXIST?

Yes, they do.

No! I mean they don’t.

Aww! What am I saying? Do aliens exist or do they not? Well, that’s the question I’m going to answer from my knowledge in the next few minutes.

First of all, let’s see what we know about aliens. According to the Pocket Oxford Dictionary, an alien typically means a “being from another world”. And then you know the rest. Green body, large black eyes (sometimes white), evil little green men, and so on. But in fact, do aliens really exist? And if they do, how exactly do they look like? My answer: Yes, they do exist. And as for what they look like, I’ll leave that to your own imagination.

So going forward with our topic, science believes that aliens do not in fact exist. But for some conspiracy theorists, they claim that not only do aliens exist, but they have also been visiting Earth since the ancient past. The conspiracy theorists believe that when aliens do arrive Earth, they are usually held captive by the united states and held in “Area 51”. If you’ve watched the movie “Race to Witch Mountain”, starred by Johnson Dwayne, that movie is a very typical example of many people’s belief about the existence of aliens. Another movie that centers around aliens is the movie series “Roswell”. It also talks about aliens visiting Earth and the government trying to cover it up by trying to hold the alien guys captive. “Men in Black” is also another good example of alien movie. The aliens visit Earth, but this organization of Men in Black has their duty in ensuring the general public do not know about their existence, let alone their visits. They are sort of the alien police force. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of other movies and books too that centers about the existence of aliens and sometimes their visiting our planet Earth. Yet science tells us that it simply is not possible for aliens to exist. One, they say, Earth is the only planet that has enough of both the two important elements which life needs before it can thrive, which are water and oxygen. And two, we’ve been searching since eternity and yet haven’t found any traces of them anywhere.

ANSWER THE QUESTION!

But I’m not here to talk about movies or books. I’m rather going to answer the question of whether aliens exist or not. Like I have said above: yes, they do exist and the following are my reasons for saying that.

1. Science tells us that only water and oxygen can support life, both of which can be found abundantly on Earth only. I agree with the second part of them being found on Earth only (if we’re talking about our own solar system alone, that is). However, let me point out a possible flaw in this theory of science. The Universe contains a very large number of Galaxies. So large that even physicists and cosmologists do not have an exact idea of how many they are and therefore put the approximate value at around 100 billion galaxies (according to Hubble), a number which they say is still likely to increase to about 200 billion as “telescope technology in space improves”. Looking at this fact, let us consider how many of these galaxies have been studied thoroughly. A very infinitesimal number I’d say.

   

   Still, in our own Milky Way galaxy alone, there are about 200 billion stars present, our sun inclusive, and judging by this, if we say that only about 10% of these stars have their own solar systems (that is, planets revolving around them), that should put us to about 20 billion solar systems. And now let’s just imagine that each of these solar systems contain only a single planet (not minding the fact that our own solar system contains 9, or eight? planets), that should give us an estimated value of 20 billion planets in our own Milky Way galaxy alone. Just imagine that! 20 billion planets. That is 200,000,000,000! If we have “only” 200 billion planets in our own galaxy, then how slim is the chance that at least another one of all these planets, apart from Earth, have the right combination of all the necessary requirements to sustain life? But that’s not all. If we go back to our calculations above about the number of galaxies we have, which we say is 100 billion, then imagine again that each of these galaxies also has approximately 20 billion solar systems too, multiply that by the possible number of solar systems in the possible number of stars we have, we should be having around 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets. That’s two sextillion planets! And it’s just a very rough estimate.

   Now again. What is the probability that not another one of these planets apart from Earth contains life? How come none of them will have the water and oxygen in abundance enough for life to thrive there? I’d say the probability of that is about really, really slim.

   

2. Second reason: On Earth, and according to science, before life can exist, two things have to be present and abundant, and they have been mentioned above: water and oxygen. But what if that is the situation for ONLY Earth? What if in another planet in another solar system, they DO NOT need water, or oxygen, before life can exist? Here on Earth, it has been discovered that some animals actually do exist in conditions of no oxygen. Read about it here. If this was discovered in our own home, then what about out there? There is the very real possibility that it is only on our own planet that life needs oxygen and water. It is possible that life on other planets need maybe methane to survive. What if it was actually hydrogen that some species on some other planets need to survive? Considering the fact that here on Earth, we are carbon based life forms and we need oxygen to survive, then maybe, just maybe, on some other planets, they are phosphorus based, or chlorine based, or fluorine based (just check your periodic table). If we look at this from this viewpoint, then we are bound to accept the fact that there may very possibly be life on other planets too. Intelligent life too, at that!
3. The third reason is rather simple. What if the only reason we have not discovered life on other worlds is simply because we’re not looking in the right places? It may be that we have been seeing alien life all around us, but have only been too blind to see it.

   If you know this concept called “expectancy theory”, then you know that sometimes when we are looking for something, which we already believed will not be there in the first place, we may end up not seeing that thing. The reason is simply because once we have believed and convinced our brain that it’s not there before looking for it, our brain then constructs the image of that thing not being there even when we are looking at it. This may actually be the reason why we’ve not seen alien life in the universe so far. Generally speaking, when science goes looking for signs of alien life in space, we usually expect to find something quite near to our own physiology. We expect the aliens we see to be at least humanoid in form. With this in mind, is it so surprising that when scientists do see something that does not at all fill our own expectancy of life in other planets, they simply agree that it is some chance of nature that has formed it and not living beings at all.

   In this regard, the movies and books may have actually been getting it right when they show us aliens that are simply too grotesque for human beings. If we agree with number 2 above, then we will also agree that different genetic and chemical makeup will bring about different physiological makeup as well. If you have watched Tom and Jerry’s trip to Mars, you will see that the aliens in that movie all look like mice, but that does not in any way reduce their intelligence.

4. Lastly, we may not have discovered alien life so far because scientists have been landing in the wrong place during interplanetary expeditions! Imagine, if an alien spaceship coming to Earth lands in the middle of the Sahara Desert, or the Arctic region (also a desert too, in case you don’t know), and then explored many kilometers north, south, east and west, what do you think will be their conclusion. You probably guessed it, that there is no life on Earth. The same may be true for scientists leaving our Earth too for other planets. They may have been landing in the wrong places, where there are no life or signs of life, and just as well concluded that there is no life, what with all the evidences as discussed in number two above.

So, having considered all the above stated reasons, I arrived at the conclusion that there is indeed life on other planets apart from our Earth. The only thing that I’m worried about is that I still be around when it is finally discovered.

And perhaps, aliens have been visiting Earth already, and as discussed in number 3, we simply have been too blind to see them, or like some conspiracy theorists will argue, they are simply being held hidden in Area 51, considering the many UFO sightings been yearly reported.

Deep learning is a form of artificial intelligence. In 2 unrelated studies, astronomers report “surprising” success using it to perform research that’s hard or impossible otherwise.

Deep learning is a subset of machine learning in artificial intelligence (AI) that has networks which are capable of learning unsupervised from data that is unstructured or unlabeled.

We published a story in April about an art historian using an innovative analysis technique to unlock architectural secrets. He was using a machine learning method called deep learning – which is used in, for example, facial recognition and speech recognition software – to do science. Similarly, more and more astronomers are reporting the use of machine deep learning techniques to perform research that humans can’t do using more traditional methods.

Below we describe two recent examples of using deep learning for astronomy. The first is related to planets orbiting two stars, and the second to classifying galaxies.

First, planets orbiting two stars. 

Can computers predict whether planets orbiting binary stars remain in stable orbits? That’s an important question because many (perhaps most) stars in our Milky Way galaxy appear to be in multiple star systems, and because planets in stable orbits might be expected to be the most habitable planets.

And, it turns out, the answer is yes. Researchers reported on April 23, 2018, that computers which undergo deep learning can predict the stability of planets in binary star systems more successfully than human astronomers. A studyon this subject looked at what many astronomers call Tatooines, planets orbiting two stars, named for the fictional Tatooine first introduced in 1977 as Luke Skywalker’s home in the original Star Wars movie. Researchers Chris Lam and David Kipping were both, at the time, at the Cool Worlds lab at Columbia University in New York (Lam has since obtained his Ph.D. and moved on). Their study is published in the peer-reviewed journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. The authors explained in a statement:

Tens of these planets have so far been discovered, but working out whether they may be habitable or not can be difficult.

Moving around two stars instead of just one can lead to large changes in a planet’s orbit, which mean that it is often either ejected from the system entirely, or it crashes violently into one of its twin stars. Traditional approaches to calculating which of these occurs for a given planet get significantly more complicated as soon as the extra star is thrown into the mix.

These researchers simulated millions of possible planets with different orbits using traditional methods and found that planets were being predicted as stable that were clearly not, and vice versa. Their new study showed how machine learning could make accurate predictions possible, even if the standard approach – based on Newton’s laws of gravity and motion – breaks down. They said:

After creating ten million hypothetical Tatooines with different orbits, and simulating each one to test for stability, this huge training set was fed into the deep learning network. Within just a few hours, the network was able to out-perform the accuracy of the standard approach.

Second, classifying galaxies.

 Also on April 23, 2018, astronomers at UC Santa Cruz reported using machine deep learning techniques to analyze images of galaxies, with the goal of understanding how galaxies form and evolve. This new study has been accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed Astrophysical Journal and is available online. In the study, researchers used computer simulations of galaxy formation to train a deep learning algorithm, which then:

… proved surprisingly good at analyzing images of galaxies from the Hubble Space Telescope.

The researchers said they used output from their simulations to generate mock images of simulated galaxies as they would look in ordinary Hubble observations. The mock images were used to train the deep learning system to recognize three key phases of galaxy evolution. The researchers then gave their artificial neutral network a large set of actual Hubble images to classify.

The results showed a remarkable level of consistency, the astronomers said, in the classifications of simulated and real galaxies. Joel Primack of UC Santa Cruz said:

We were not expecting it to be all that successful. I’m amazed at how powerful this is. We know the simulations have limitations, so we don’t want to make too strong a claim. But we don’t think this is just a lucky fluke.

Very advanced triangular alien spacecraft spotted sucking energy from lightning bolt in this viral video

Alien has been the buzzword for the last couple of years and alien hunters have come with several proofs of extraterrestrial lives. Now, another alien seeker has posted a video of mysterious triangular-shaped alien spacecraft or UFO within the bolt of lightning. Alien hunters believe that the lightning does not form a triangular shape which suggests that there is an object within the lightning bolt. In addition, human-made spacecraft cannot survive the wrath of lightning that further suggests that the mysterious object is an alien spacecraft speeding through the lightning.

Youtuber SecureTeam10 has posted the video which went viral on the social media and amassed over 400,000 views on the Youtube. The editor of the video has paused the video and enhanced the image to increase the viewability of the triangular shaped object. Conspiracy theorists believe that either the spacecraft was speeding through the lightning or it was sucking energy from it. Apparently, the alien creatures are very advanced when compared to humans and have also decoded how to access massive energy stored in the lightning bolt. Another alien enthusiast claimed that aliens constantly linger around Earth to monitor our activities and they pose a serious danger to the future of humanity as we don’t have sufficient weapons in our repertoire to combat the advanced civilisation.

Called “They Dwell In The Lightning…” the 10-minute video was posted Saturday and points to a triangle-looking block within a lightning bolt, and calls it “yet another one of these objects, either struck by, caught within or siphoning energy from another one of these lightning bolts, snapped at just the right time as it was coming down over the Czech Republic.”

Search for alien life has gained pace in recent times and space agencies are working hard to find the proof of extraterrestrial life. Meanwhile, a team of scientists from the Plymouth University believes that we should take help of artificial intelligence to find the alien life. According to researchers, artificial intelligence has witnessed rapid developments and it can help us in predicting the probability of life on other planets.

For the study, scientists have harnessed the power of artificial intelligence and artificial neural networks (ANNs) to classify planets into five types, based on the likelihood of supporting extraterrestrial life. Based on these groups, scientists will further conduct interstellar missions to find the alien life.

Lead study author Mr Christopher Bishop explains that planets in all the five groups have an atmosphere and possibility of life. Some planets are very similar to present day earth and are present in Goldilocks zone while some are more like Mars and Venus.

Mr Bishop comments, “We’re currently interested in these ANNs for prioritising exploration for a hypothetical, intelligent, interstellar spacecraft scanning an exoplanet system at range.”

He adds, “We’re also looking at the use of large area, deployable, planar Fresnel antennas to get data back to Earth from an interstellar probe at large distances. This would be needed if the technology is used in robotic spacecraft in the future.”

UFO Seen Over Western Beijing Throughout Some Areas Of Northern China

China is not famous for UFO conspiracies not like in the USA where hit TV shows get inspiration from secret government cover-ups. However, when UFOs suddenly appear in the country as what took place on Friday night, a seemingly lack of information has made the existence of little green men the most suitable explanation.

Multiple residents allegedly saw the UFO on Friday night over Western Beijing and throughout the Celestial Kingdom’s northeastern parts.

Videos and photos show a bright funnel in cone shape leading an apparent cork-screw tail behind it. The light is seemingly shining downward, then changing course sharply, and then finally disappearing.

Even though the strange incident was widely seen, the information is so limited. No official reports that can shed the light of the phenomenon and the people were just left with a few facts.

Since it was seen throughout a wide area below, the object must be high up in the atmosphere, according to the editor-in-chief of the Guokr science website Yu Jun. With the object’s high altitude, it was illuminated by sunlight that reached beyond the shadow of the Earth.

Yu explained that the UFO could not be a satellite launch considering its acute change in trajectory and the Taiyuan rocket centre in Shanxi made no launches on the night of the sighting. Beidou satellite can be ruled out as well since they are only launched from the Xichang satellite launch centre in Western Sichuan province as per Beijing News.

Chinese state media has no official explanations about the strange incident, but the UFO is not likely to be there unless authorised considering the highly restricted China’s airspace.

It is not known what does the incident means, but people in China can relax if it turns out to be aliens conducting their probe tests. After all, UFOs are the least of worries among Beijingers when it comes to the list of airborne threats in the city that include killer bees, flying catkins, sandstorms, and air pollution.

UNDERGROUND CITY IN THE GRAND CANYON WAS DOCUMENTED IN 1909

The latest news of the progress of the explorations of what is now regarded by scientists as not only the oldest archaeological discovery in the United States, but one of the most valuable in the world, which was mentioned some time ago in the Gazette, was brought to the city yesterday by G.E. Kinkaid, the explorer who found the great underground citadel of the Grand Canyon during a trip from Green River, Wyoming, down the Colorado in a wooden boat, to Yuma, several months ago.

According to the story in the Gazette by Mr. Kinkaid, the archaeologist of the Smithsonian Institute, which is financing the explorations, have made discoveries which almost conclusively prove that the race which inhabited this mysterious cavern, hewn in solid rock by human hands, was of Oriental origin or possibly from Egypt tracing back to Ramses.

If their theories are borne out of the translation of the tablets engraved with hieroglyphics, the mystery of the prehistoric peoples of North America, their ancient arts, who they were and whence they came, will be solved. Egypt and the Nile and Arizona and the Colorado will be linked by a historical chain running back to ages which staggers the wildest fancy of the fictionist.

A Thorough Investigation

Under the direction of professor S.A. Jordan, the Smithsonian Institute is now prosecuting the most thorough explorations, which will be continued until the last link in the chain has been forged. Nearly a mile underground, about 1480 feet below the surface, the long main passage has been delved into, to find another mammoth chamber from which radiates scores of passageways, like the spokes of a wheel. Several hundred rooms have been discovered, reached by passageways running from the main passage, one of them having been explored for 854 feet and another 634 feet.

The recent finds include articles which have never been known as native to this country and doubtless they had their origin in the Orient. War weapons, copper instruments sharp edged and hard as steel, indicate the high state of civilization reached by these strange people.

So interested have the scientists become that preparations are being made to equip the camp for extensive studies and the force will be increased to thirty or forty persons. Before going further into the cavern, better facilities for lighting have to be installed, for the darkness is dense and impenetrable for the average flashlight.

In order to avoid being lost, wires are being strung from the entrance to all passageways leading directly to large chambers. How far this cavern extends no one can guess, but it is now the belief of many that what has already been explored is merely the “Barracks”, to use an American term, for the soldiers, and that far into the underworld will be found the main communal dwellings of the families and possibly other shrines. The ventilation that blows through indicates another outlet to the surface.

Mr. Kinkaids Report

Mr. Kinkaid was the first white child born in Idaho and has been an explorer and hunter all his life. Thirty years having been in the service of the Smithsonian Institute. Even briefly recounted, his history sounds fabulous, almost grotesque.

“First, I would impress that the cavern is almost inaccessible. The entrance isalmost 1486 feet down a shear canyon wall. It is located on government land and no visitor will be allowed there under penalty of trespass. The scientists wish to work unmolested, without fear of the archaeological discoveries being disturbed by curio or relic hunters. A trip there would be fruitless and the visitor would be sent on his way.

The story of how I found the cavern: I was journeying down the Colorado river in a boat, alone, looking for mineral. Some forty two miles up the river from El Tovar Crystal canyon, I saw on the east wall, stains in the sedimentary formation about 2000 feet above the river bed. There was no trail to this point, but I finally reached it with great difficulty.

Above a shelf, which hid it from view of the river, was the mouth of the cave. There are steps leading from this entrance some thirty yards from what was at the time the cavern was inhabited, the level of the river. When I saw the chisel marks on the wall inside the entrance, I became interested, secured my gun and went in. During that trip I went back several hundred feet along the main passage, till I came to the main crypt in which I discovered the mummies.

One of these I stood up and photographed by flashlight. I gathered a number of relics, which I carried down the Colorado to Yuma, from whence I shipped them to Washington with details of the discovery. Following this, the explorations were undertaken”.

The Passages

“The main passageway is about 12 feet wide, narrowing to 9 feet toward the farther end. About 57 feet from the entrance, the first passages branch off to the right and left, along which, on both sides, are a number of rooms about the size of ordinary living rooms of today, though some are 30 to 40 feet square.

These are entered by oval shaped doors and are ventilated by round air spaces through the walls into the passages. The walls are about 3 feet 6 inches in thickness. The passages are chiseled or hewn as straight as could be laid out by any engineer. The ceilings of many of the rooms converge to a center. The side passages near the entrance run at a sharp angle from the main hall, but toward the rear they gradually reach a right angle in direction”.

The Shrine

“Over a hundred feet from the entrance is a cross-hall, several hundred feet long, in which was found the idol, or image, of the peoples god, sitting cross-legged, with a Lotus flower or Lily in each hand. The cast of the face and the carving shows a skillful hand, and the entire is remarkably well preserved, as is everything in this cavern. The idol most resembles Buddha, though the scientists are not certain as to what religious worship it represents.

Taking into consideration everything found thus far, it is possible that the worship most resembles the ancient people of Thibet. Surrounding this idol are smaller images, some beautiful in form, other crooked necked and distorted shapes, symbolical, probably, of good and evil. There are two large cacti with protruding arms, one on each side of the dais on which the god squats. All this is carved out of hard rock resembling marble.

In the opposite corner of this cross-hall were found tools of all descriptions, made of copper. This people undoubtedly knew the lost art of hardening this metal, which has been sought by chemists for centuries without result. On a bench running around the workroom was some charcoal and other material probably used in the process.

There is also slag and stuff similar to matte, showing that these ancient peoples smelted ores, but so far, no trace of where of how this was done has been discovered, nor the origin of the ore. Among other finds are vases or urns and cups of copper and gold made very artistic in design. The pottery work includes enameled ware and glazed vessels.

Some of the mummies are covered with clay and all are wrapped in a bark fabric. The urns or cups on the lower tiers are crude, while as the higher shelves are reached, the urns are finer in design showing an inter-stage of civilization. It is worthy of note that all the mummies examined so far have proved to be male, no children or females being buried here. This leads to the belief that this interior section was the warriors barracks.

Among the discoveries no bones of animals have been found, no skins, no clothing nor bedding. Many of the rooms are bare but for the water vessels. One room, about 400 by 700 feet, was probably the main dining hall for cooking utensils are found here. What these people lived on is a problem, though it is presumed that they came south for the winter and farmed in the valleys, going back north in the summer. Upwards of 50,000 people could have lived in the cavern comfortably.

One theory is that the present Indian tribe found in Arizona are descendants of the serfs or slaves of the people which inhabited the cave. Undoubtedly a good many thousands of years before the Christian era a people lived here which reached a high state of civilization. The chronology of human history is full of gaps. Prof. Jordan is much enthused over the discoveries and believes that the find will prove of incalculable value in archaeological work.

One thing I have spoken of may be of interest. There is one chamber the passageways to which is not ventilated and when we approach it a deadly, snaky smell struck us. Our lights would not penetrate the gloom and until stronger ones are available, we will not know what the chamber contains. Some say snakes, but others boo-hoo this idea and think that it may contain a deadly gas or chemicals used by the ancients. No sounds are heard, but it smells just the same.

The whole underground institution gives one of shaky nerves the creeps. The gloom is like a weight on ones shoulders and our flashlights and candles only make the darkness blacker. Imagination can revel in conjectures and ungodly day-dreams back through the ages that have elapsed till the mind reels dizzily in space.

An Indian Legend

In connection with this story, it is notable that among the Hopis the tradition is told that their ancestors once lived in an underworld in the Grand Canyon till dissension arose between the good and the bad, the people of one heart, the people of two hearts. (Manchoto) who was their chief, counselled them to leave the underworld, but there was no way out. The chief then caused a tree to grow up and pierce the roof of the underworld and then the people of one heart climbed out.

They tarried by Palsiaval (Red River), which is the Colorado, and grew grain and corn. They sent out a message to the temple of the sun, asking the blessing of peace, good will and rain for the people of one heart. That messenger never returned but, today at the Hopi village, at sundown can be seen the old men of the tribe out on the housetops gazing towards the sun, looking for the messenger. When he returns, their land and ancient dwelling place will be restored to them. That is the tradition.

Among the engravings of animals in the cave is seen a image of a heart over the spot where it is located. The legend was learned by W.E. Rollins, the artist, during a year spent with the Hopi Indians. There are two theories of the origin of the Egyptians. One is that they came from Asia: another is that the racial cradle was in the upper Nile region. Heeren, an Egyptologist, believed in the Indian origin of the Egyptians. The discoveries in the Grand Canyon may throw further light on human evolution and prehistoric ages.”

The Smithsonian Says they have no record of this happening and stories of a massive cover up have be around since the story made print in 1909. I guess one must pose the question as to why this finding must be suppressed for over 100 years. Perhaps solid proof of things that proved lies in the history of our word, or a alien base kept hidden for who knows how long before it’s discovery in 1909. In a world that fears solid proof more each day, we man never know.

Search for aliens started by Zuckerberg, Hawking ramps up

The Breakthrough Listen initiative to look for signs of smarts in space has dramatically expanded to include millions more stars across the Milky Way.

The Breakthrough Listen initiative, an effort backed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to find signs of alien intelligence, just got way better hearing aids. 

The project, which also had support from legendary physicist Steven Hawking, has begun a new push to survey millions of stars in the Milky Way for signals picked up by extraterrestrial technology. The expansion takes advantage of a hardware upgrade at the Parkes Radio Telescope in Australia that lets astronomers scan larger areas of the sky quickly and in more detail. 

The Listen project has been using the Parkes telescope for observations over the past year and a half, but had been limited to targeting just a small sample of stars within a relatively short distance from Earth. 

The new hardware will allow the system to process 130 gigabits per second of observational data from deep space. The project is signed up for 1,500 hours of observation time with the Parkes telescope for 2018, which could result in the collection of almost 100 petabytes of raw data (that's over 5 million HD movies). 

All that data will then be archived, open sourced, analyzed and searched for signs of E.T. phoning home ... or anyplace else. 

Best places in space to search for alien life

The Red Planet

The deeper we look into space, the more places we come across that seem like maybe, just maybe, could host life. From our neighboring planets to distant galaxies sending out weird signals, the list of spots in space worth checking out just continues to grow.

The closest world we should check for signs of life is one we've already been to, or at least our robots have. There's increasing evidence that Mars was once a lot more like Earth, with oceans on its surface. Today it's more harsh, but it's not out of the question that we could find some sort of microbes in Martian soil.

Ceres

Dwarf planet Ceres in the asteroid belt is full of surprises. It started with those big bright spots that turned out to be salt deposits, and there's also a huge, strange pyramid-shaped mountain, plenty of water beneath the surface and even the building blocks of life. Some people already believe this huge rock is actually an alien ship. The evidence isn't there to support that theory, but the place does seem worth a closer look.

Jupiter

We don't think of the largest gas giant planet around as a place to look for life, but science fiction author Ben Bova has other ideas.

"It's got all the ingredients, enough room and lots of energy," he said in 2016.

Bova briefly explained his notion of life-forms that might be able to live in the air or in water underneath Jupiter's dense deck of clouds. He referred me to a few of the novels from his "Grand Tour" series, including "Jupiter" and "Leviathans of Jupiter."

The storyline of the novels revolves around the existence of massive, city-size life-forms called Leviathans living in gigantic oceans that have condensed beneath the clouds of Jupiter.

Um, sure. Why not?

Titan

Saturn's satellite Titan is the rare moon in our solar system with an atmosphere, weather, seas and rivers. It sure looks like home, except it's freezing and the lakes are flammable. Whatever life could survive there would be awfully weird, but scientists would still love to send a submarine to see for themselves.

Enceladus

Like Europa, Saturnian moon Enceladus has an icy shell with plumes shooting into space. In 2015, the Cassini spacecraft actually flew through one of the plumes and found large amounts of hydrogen present in its hidden ocean. This suggests the watery world has just about all the ingredients required to support life.

Europa

Jupiter moon Europa not only hides a subsurface ocean beneath its icy shell, but geysers have also been spotted there, hinting that some sort of hydrothermal activity might be able to support marine life.

Callisto

Jupiter's moon Callisto is another world that harbors an unseen ocean. Checking it for microbes or any other exotic life forms might be tough, though, because it would require drilling through its huge, rocky exterior.

Ganymede

Ganymede, Jupiter's largest moon, has long been suspected of harboring a subsurface ocean. In 2015, scientists said they could confirm a salty ocean beneath its frozen crust. It also has a thin oxygen atmosphere, adding to its intrigue.

Venus

Yes our nearest planetary neighbor is supposed to be a horrible, hot and toxic hellscape, but that's just below the clouds. Higher in the atmosphere it could be quite nice. The planet wasn't always so inhospitable, so perhaps something managed to adapt? Scary to imagine what might have managed that, but you know you want to see it.

Pluto

This former planet is very cold, but it's also more interesting than we used to think, with hints of active geology, lots of ice and perhaps some hidden oceans of its own. Definitely worth adding to the life-prospecting itinerary.

Proxima b

A potentially habitable planet around the nearest star to the sun, Proxima b is a no-brainer for closer examination. In fact, some told stories about alien civilizations there before the planet was even discovered. Plans are already underway to send tiny craft there to see if anyone is about.

Trappist-1 system

The TRAPPIST-1 system is just 40 light-years away and hosts up to seven Earth-sized planets, all very close to each other and perfect for the space-faring civilization of our sci-fi dreams.

Somewhere in Auriga

Mysterious signals known as "fast radio bursts" have baffled astronomers for a decade. The only such signal that repeats has been traced to a tiny galaxy in this image in the constellation Auriga. Is it E.T. phoning home?

KIC 8462852

Something weird is going on around the distant star KIC 8462852, also known as Boyajian's Star. After a few years of research, no one knows for sure what's happening, but one explanation that's yet to be completely ruled out is the far-out notion that a highly advanced society is building insanely huge megastructures in space that obstruct the star. Gulp.

HD 40307g

HD 40307g is another nearby super-Earth only 42 light years away that will be a top target for the next generation of telescopes.

"With these new capabilities ... we are scanning our galaxy in unprecedented detail," project scientist Danny Price from UC Berkeley said in a statement. "By trawling through these huge datasets for signatures of technological civilizations, we hope to uncover evidence that our planet, among the hundreds of billions in our galaxy, is not the only where intelligent life has arisen."   

Breakthrough Listen is a $100 million effort to search the Milky Way and nearby galaxies for evidence of advanced civilizations and technology.  It was launched in 2015 by Zuckerberg, Russian billionaire Yuri Milner and the late Hawking. 

The project has already looked into mysterious signals called "fast radio bursts," odd blips from a distant star system and checked that the first interstellar object to visit our solar system wasn't actually an alien ship of some sort (no signs of life were detected).

Breakthrough Listen hasn't picked up on any alien signals just yet, but perhaps that will change now that its "ear" just became much bigger and more sensitive.

Spoiler alert! Stop the scary theme music! Forget about being a Nefertiti mummy on Halloween. Science has killed hopes for any new movies based on the mummy of Queen Nefertiti being released from her secret burial chamber in the tomb of Tutankhamun. A comprehensive series of ground-penetrating radar scans found no hidden chambers, hallways or secret passages that could contain the remains of King Tut’s stepmother. So, where is her mummy? What’s that behind you?

The announcement was made at the fourth annual International Tutankhamun GEM Conference, held at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, and reported by National Geographic. It ended a debate that has been going on for decades but which increased in earnest in 2015 when radar specialist Hirokatsu Watanabe attempted to prove a theory by Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves that Queen Nefertiti’s tomb was secretly located behind the walls of King Tutankhamun’s burial chamber. Watanabe’s ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data appeared to find hidden doors and two empty areas behind the north and west walls of the chamber.

What about the curse?

Since you can’t just knock out a wall in Tut’s tomb, even if you’re an excited Egyptian antiquities minister who felt “90 percent sure” of the discovery, a second GPR scan was performed by National Geographic engineers in 2016. Over 40 individual scans were performed on the walls at five different heights and two different radar frequencies — one for depth perception the other for feature perception. Those scans showed no evidence of doors, rooms or Nefertiti. When those results were presented at the 2016 International Tutankhamen GEM Conference, Minister El Enany called for a tie-breaker.

Three GPR scans were conducted in February 2018 by three independent teams (from the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy, and two private companies, Geostudi Astier and 3DGeoimaging) using three different frequencies. Yes, these people are serious about their Tut tomb theories. After seven days of scanning, the data was analyzed by a team led by Franco Porcelli of the Polytechnic University, who presented the results to Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and Khaled El Enany, Egypt’s Minister of Antiquities.

After all bets were placed, the results were announced:

“We conclude, with a very high level of confidence, that the hypothesis concerning the existence of hidden chambers adjacent [to] Tutankhamun’s tomb is not supported by the GPR data.”

While the results are disappointing to many, the good news is that the search for the mummy of the mysterious Nefertiti can continue, spawning new theories and potential movie plots. She could still be buried somewhere nearby, she could be one of the many unidentified mummies in museums or her remains could have been destroyed in the attempt to rewrite history after her death.

Unknown Orange Light appears in the sky over Santa Maria, California

While driving his car near Santa Maria, California, Carlos Dominguez has filmed a strange orange light in the night sky on May 5, 2018.

The orange spot clearly illuminates the sky and is not a reflection in the window as it disappears several times behind the trees, while driving.

The strange glow is similar to other orange spots in the sky that have been captured lately and here also the driver doesn’t know where the light comes from.

There seem to be places in this world which draw to themselves strangeness in all of its forms. Whatever bizarre phenomenon it may be, these locations seem to to hold them fast, pulling them in with forces beyond our comprehension. One such place can be found sprawled out right through the center of the United States. It is by some accounts a strange realm offering a wealth of weirdness and especially seems to be a wellspring of UFO phenomena. It is the UFO Highway.

An interesting pattern was uncovered by a brother and sister pair of UFO investigators named Chuck Zukowski and Debbie Ziegelmeyer, of El Paso Colorado, over their decades of researching strange UFO phenomena including sightings, alien abductions, and cattle mutilations across the United States. At some point during their investigations of hundreds of cases they came to the startling conclusion that a good many of the incidents had occurred along a very defined line along the 37th latitude line, or 37th Parallel, which is a geographical designation that expands along the southern borders of Utah, Colorado, and Kansas, and the northern borders of Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, and in its entirety runs from California through Nevada, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and across to Virginia. He has said of this:

Back in 2006 I was looking at my cattle mutilation investigations – there were huge similarities between them all – most of them were laying on their right side, they’re laying east to west and then I noticed that lots of them were on the 37 degree latitude. I called my sister at midnight and I said, ‘Didn’t you have cattle mutilations on the 37 degree latitude in Missouri?’ And she said, ‘Yes’ and we started looking more into it. We soon realized it wasn’t just cattle mutilations – there were all kind of events. We we’re up until 2:30 in the morning going through all these cases and started seeing these amazing patterns. I started to realize the cattle mutilations, UFO sightings and major events like Area 51 all lined up.

We have a paranormal highway going across the United States. From my research and investigations, the 37th parallel appears to be the main corridor of UFOs traveling across the U.S.

It makes sense in a way, as this particular latitude line has long been plagued with all manner of spooky unexplained phenomena. Of the most interest is perhaps the infamous Area 51 of Nevada, which lies along the 37th parallel, but there is also the supposed secret underground alien base at Dulce, New Mexico, which is world famous for its inexplicable, incessant hum, and many other phenomena. Among the many reports along this line are numerous cattle mutilations and UFO sightings, including an actual alleged crashed alien spacecraft.

In 1941 a Baptist minister was called in to go investigate what was at the time thought to be a simple plane crash at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in order to perform last rite for any victims. When the minister arrived, he claimed to have seen not a plane, but rather a disc-shaped object half buried in the ground that was surrounded by the scattered bodies of thin, grey humanoids that were recognizably not human. The minister did a short prayer and was then reportedly led away by government personnel.

Another bizarre and spectacular report from along the 37th was that of a pilot named Captain Thomas Mantell, who in 1948 was flying in the region when he was apparently ordered to pursue an unidentified flying object over Owensboro, Kentucky. According to reports he claimed that he had flown up beside the craft and reported that he could see tiny, thin beings within, after which he mysteriously crashed his plane. The official government explanation was that Mantell had simply run out of oxygen, but conspiracies say that the UFO had something to do with it and that it was covered up. Adding to this are the numerous cattle mutilations, UFO sightings, and other phenomena such as the Joplin Spook Lights, which are strange balls of light that have been appearing in Hornet, Missouri since at least the 19th century.

Due to odd cases like this and many, many others, Chuck Zukowski and his sister have come to the conclusion that this geographical line holds some sort of significance for UFOs, although what that could be remains evasive. One theory is that it is for whatever reason a convenient point through which they can enter and exit our world, and Zukowski has said of this:

The bottom line is the 37th latitude is like a UFO highway or paranormal highway across the continent. We seem to think that this highway is a major highway that these crafts use – they seem to exit and enter here.

Chuck and Debbie have continued to investigate strange occurrences along the 37th parallel, with Chuck going out into the field fully prepared and decked out in a tactical vest and equipped with a full-spectrum camera, a handheld metal detector, binoculars, a rangefinder, a firearm, and glass tubes for samples. It is a far cry from his original profession as a microchip engineer and former Sheriff’s Deputy, and it has earned him the nickname the “Mulder of El Paso.” Indeed, it was because of his investigations into the paranormal that he lost his job as a Deputy, as a result of “conducting paranormal and unidentified flying object investigations into animal mutilations and refusing to “refrain from conducting paranormal and unidentified flying object investigations, which could be viewed as a conflict of interest.

Chuck and Debbie have continued to investigate cases along this corridor of strangeness, and their activities have attracted the attention of researcher and author Ben Mezrich, who followed and studied the pair to craft his 2016 best-selling book The 37 Parallel: The Secret Truth Behind America’s UFO Highway. Mezrich would say of his bizarre project:

The biggest thing with this was not seeing it as something bizarre and a joke, but instead treating it as a real subject. “Real” journalists can’t cover this topic. “Real” professors can’t study this topic. “Real” scientists can’t look at the materials and say, “Is this a UFO or is this not a UFO?” And so I think that’s part of what this book is about: the idea that it’s impossible to write about seriously. Over the course of my research, I’ve determined it’s incredibly likely that we have been visited by aliens at least once.

The book has done big business, and has even been picked up to be made into a film by New Line Cinema. Is there anything to all of this, or it this just more intriguing yet ultimately frustrating lore to add to the pile of the UFO phenomenon in general? Is there really some significance to the 37th latitude line, and if so what is it and why does it attract so much strangeness to itself? These are questions that continue to elude us, but perhaps the answers are somewhere out there to be found.

Video Reveals UFOs Passing The Moon

A space enthusiast has been puzzled with what he caught on video as he captioned it “WTF did I capture passing the moon.”

He reportedly recorded on video three UFOs racing past the moon to which he thought helium balloons. However, he could not confirm precisely their identity.

The video was allegedly taken on April 22 and Don’t Stop Motion then posted it on YouTube.

The footage starts with the camera focusing the moon and its craters but later shows something unusual at the 1:18 mark.

All of a sudden, three black shadows are passing the moon.

It is not clear where they are coming from and where they go after they disappear from the frame, leaving most viewers baffled.

It is not mentioned where the video was taken.

Most YouTube viewers were also baffled, and some others were playing joked about the UFO claims.

Others couldn’t think of anything else other than the balloons suggestion.

They explained that the video reveals the silhouette of unlit objects passing above the bright moon surface and not shadows as others suggested.

They further suggested that the objects must be relatively near the earth and slowly pass through the ½ degree angular size of the moon.

Others think those objects were not something in Earth’s orbit as they were more looked like shadows than the actual things.

They explained that the actual objects could be quite big as they were able to cast shadows on the Moon considering the alleged distance this video was taken from. They added that the objects must have been closer to the moon because the shadows looked sharp.

Triangular Shaped UFO Seen Traveling Into A Lightning Bolt: Could This Be Proof Of Alien Life?

A video was captured of a UFO traveling into a lightning bolt and was posted on YouTube. The YouTube account is known for sharing videos about aliens.

A YouTube video uploaded on May 5 shows what they claim to be a triangular-shaped UFO traveling inside of a lightning bolt. It was spotted during a lightning storm in the Czech Republic.

The title of the video is They Dwell In The Lightning.

UFOs In Lightning

YouTube uploader Secureteam10 says that the UFO in the video can be seen traveling through the lightning bolt or harvesting power from the lightning bolt. Conspiracy theorists are saying that no manmade spacecraft are able to travel through lightning that easily. In the video, more footage can be seen of other UFOs traveling inside of lightning bolts from around the world.

Secureteam10 is run by Tyler Glockner. In the video Glockner says that this is a new capture of a UFO in a lightning storm. He adds that in the video the UFO is either being struck, caught within, or siphoning energy from a lightning bolt as it was coming down.

This footage was captured by another UFO hunter and not by Glockner himself. In a still image of the footage, Glockner claims a spacecraft can be seen passing through the lightning bolt. A second video was posted on May 5 showing another UFO sighting in Arizona.

The second video shows that there was a light spotted flying over Phoenix, Arizona. The image was posted on social media by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
