While doing a radio show a couple of nights ago, I was asked a question that pops up from time to time. It went something like this: “Have any UFOs ever crashed in the U.K.?” Well, I’m hardly a fan of tales of crashed saucers (see my 2017 book, The Roswell UFO Controversy). My view is that the majority of such stories really involve (a) classified, military vehicles; or (b) are the creations of disinformation/counterintelligence personnel. But, that doesn’t mean there haven’t been any intriguing cases in the U.K. There certainly have been some. And here’s one such example.
It was at around 4:00 p.m. on 26 October 1996, near the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, when something strange fell from the skies. “At first, I thought it was a firework,” commented one of the witnesses, a man named Norman MacDonald. He was a joinery contractor at the Port of Ness. MacDonald expanded: “Then I saw three flashes and heard two further bangs. I rushed into a local shop and took the staff and customers outside. They also saw the dense smoke spiral. That was about 4:10 p.m.” The Scotsman newspaper covered the story on November 4, 1996. Over the following few hours, both the Royal Air Force and the local police received numerous telephone calls from anxious Lewis residents, all of whom had either witnessed an aerial explosion or had seen peculiar flashes of light followed by debris plunging into the sea. The response of officialdom was immediate.

In a search that cost the equivalent of nearly $400,000 and that covered an area of 300 square miles, an armada of ships and numerous aircraft were hastily dispatched to the scene. A Royal Air Force Nimrod aircraft packed with sophisticated detection equipment scoured the vicinity for no less than ten hours on two sorties; the Coast Guard helicopter from Stornoway flew two four-and-a-half-hour operations; a Royal Air Force helicopter from Lossiemouth conducted an intensive search; and a flotilla of ships and boats, including the Stornoway-based tug the Portosalvo, numerous lifeboats from Lochinver, and a variety of fishing boats also lent assistance to the military.
In addition, both the Coast Guard and the police mounted shore patrols in Ness, on the Butt of Lewis. Officially, nothing was found. However, officialdom was not discounting the more exotic theories that had been postulated. “We have not ruled out space debris,” said Simon Riley, District Staff Officer for Stornoway Coast Guard. Riley elaborated: “Part of the problem has been to get a fix on where this accident happened. All the people involved in the search have worked very hard, some around the clock, and extensive inquiries have been made, but nothing has been found to give a positive explanation. It is very puzzling.”
The Northern Police Constabulary was equally baffled. “Officers were busily involved in the investigation,” a spokesperson commented. “But it’s a real mystery. It’s very, very odd.” Matters took an even stranger turn only days later when the press revealed that inquiries concerning the nature of the crash had been made to British authorities by the Sandia National Laboratories, New Mexico, USA. Sandia’s interest ran deep––staff at the facility even contacted the Armagh Observatory in Northern Ireland for assistance––and chiefly centered upon ascertaining the time at which the incident had occurred.
Callanish Stones on the Isle of Lewis
Nick Pope, who investigated UFO reports at an official level for the British Ministry of Defense between 1991 and 1994, stated (in the now-defunct U.K. magazine Sightings): “The [Sandia] facility operates spy satellites, and their line of inquiry strongly suggested that they were trying to search back through spy satellite imagery to see whether the UFO had been captured on film.”
Commenting on the crash report and the subsequent military maneuvers, which involved no fewer than thirty-two warships, seven submarines and eighty aircraft, Nick Pope stated at the time: “Rumors began to circulate that the whole incident might center on the crash and recovery of a top-secret prototype aircraft or unmanned aerial vehicle such as the rumored Aurora or HALO.”
The event was never fully resolved. The final official word went to the Ministry of Defense, who informed journalist Jonathan Dillon: “As you are aware, following reports to the authorities of an alleged explosion in the air, an extensive search of the area was carried out by the RAF and the Coastguard. This search was later called off after it became clear that no aircraft had been reported overdue.” That is where the matter rests today.
One of the most intriguing astronomy stories of the past year has been the discovery of ‘Oumuamua, the first-known interstellar object to visit our solar system. The object was first discovered around a year ago and has since been the source of endless speculation and study. While there are still those both within and without the astronomical community who believe ‘Oumuamua could be an alien probe, the prevailing theory states that ‘Oumuamua is likely an asteroid, comet, or possibly even a sliver of a planet blown apart by its dying host star.
Our first glimpse at ‘Oumuamua, the small dot in the center of this image.
‘Oumuamua is back in the headlines this week as Harvard researchers have published a study claiming that the strange object exhibited anomalous behavior as it approached our Sun which could bolster the theory that the object could be artificial in nature after all. According to Shmuel Bialy and Abraham Loeb of the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, the object increased in velocity as it passed our Sun without changing its spin, something abnormal for a comet.
Comets often experience a process known as outgassing when they warm and release gases trapped inside their icy bodies. When this occurs, the sudden release of gasses causes comets’ spins to change in either speed or direction. ‘Oumuamua, on the other hand, did neither. The researchers claim this could be due to the fact that the interstellar object might actually be a light sail, a spacecraft which uses solar radiation as its primary mode of propulsion:
We explain the excess acceleration of `Oumuamua away from the sun as the result of the force that the sunlight exerts on its surface. For this force to explain measured excess acceleration, the object needs to be extremely thin, of order a fraction of a millimeter in thickness but tens of meters in size. This makes the object lightweight for its surface area and allows it to act as a light-sail. Its origin could be either natural (in the interstellar medium or proto-planetary disks) or artificial (as a probe sent for a reconnaissance mission into the inner region of the solar system).
Of course, other astronomers and scientists have raised objections to this new study, arguing that these two astronomers have “taken advantage of [their] institution’s brand to over-amplify results that are unverified or highly speculative.” Still, given that scientists here on Earth are looking into the same technology as a means of exploring distant areas of the universe, it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
‘Oumuamua’s path through our Solar System.
Ultimately, while this new study is far from conclusive, it shows that ‘Oumuamua still presents one of the most fascinating astronomical mysteries of our time. Have we witnessed the first signs of extraterrestrial life? Could future generations look back on this discovery as first contact?
“If we were to successfully close a handshake and start to communicate, we could flash a message, at a data rate of about a few hundred bits per second, which would get there in just a few years.”
And in a few years later? Will a hungry, precious-metal seeking, conquest-minded band of extraterrestrials show up with their weapons, drills and recipe books ready to take over our planet … after first thanking MIT for letting them know we’re here? That’s one scenario that could play out if a Massachusetts Institute of Technology project goes from drawing board to reality. Do we really want to send up a bat-signal for what might be real bat people? What else could possibly go wrong?
“The kinds of lasers and telescopes that are being built today can produce a detectable signal, so that an astronomer could take one look at our star and immediately see something unusual about its spectrum. I don’t know if intelligent creatures around the sun would be their first guess, but it would certainly attract further attention.”
That’s the proposal of James Clark, a graduate student in MIT’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and author of the study, “Optical Detection of Lasers with Near-term Technology at Interstellar Distances,” published this week in The Astrophysical Journal. He even has some targets in mind for the signal – Proxima Centauri b, the exoplanet orbiting in the habitable zone of nearby Proxima Centauri; and TRAPPIST-1, an ultra-cool red dwarf star just 40 light years away which has seven temperate planets capable of hosting life forms that may have evolved astronomers who could be scanning the skies looking for flashing “Come and get us!” signs. In fact, the beam James has in mind could be picked up by ET astronomers making even minor brief scans of the Milky Way.
Artist’s impression of Proxima Centauri b
As his final project for the MIT class 16.343 (Spacecraft, and Aircraft Sensors and Instrumentation), James proposes pairing a conventional infrared laser with a large telescope whose mirror would be used to intensify the beam to up to ten times the infrared brightness of sun, thus identifying it as something out of the ordinary. In the MIT press release, he speculates that either a 2-megawatt laser pointed through a 30-meter telescope or a 1-megawatt laser reflected by a 45-meter telescope could be seen by TRAPPIST-1 or Proxima Centauri planets. Equipment now in existence that could meet those would include the U.S. Air Force’s Airborne Laser (designed to down ballistic missiles) and, while still under construction, the 24-meter Giant Magellan Telescope and the 39-meter European Extremely Large Telescope in Chile.
What could possibly go wrong? One thing you may not have considered is that such a beam would be extremely dangerous to those working and living around it.
“Such a beam would produce a flux density of about 800 watts of power per square meter, which is approaching that of the sun, which generates about 1,300 watts per square meter. While the beam wouldn’t be visible, it could still damage people’s vision if they were to look directly at it. The beam could also potentially scramble any cameras aboard spacecraft that happen to pass through it.”
Not a problem, says James. Just build it on the dark side of the Moon. That would put it in a place where it can’t hurt any humans or their spacecrafts and would make Pink Floyd very happy.
If we can send such a signal to ETs, can we see if they send one back? Not yet, says James. Current imaging technology would require that a telescope be aimed directly at the beam source when it is sent.
So, they can see us with their superior technology, which could be used for spaceships as well, but we can’t see them. What could possibly go wrong?
“Whether or not this is a good idea, that’s a discussion for future work.”
I found a few alien bodies on the surface of Mars in a gigapan photo today. One alien, I colored it green...above...looks semi human like, reptilian with arms and legs and similar head to some degree.
However I also found Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars. The Jabba body laying down as if it had died and layed down. The eyes, head, mouth, nose are all similar to that of the character in Star Wars. Also the body is equally long and shaped. But what really sends me is that there is a hand...that looks exactly like the hand in the photo of Jabba the Hutt. It sounds to me like the person who wrote Star Wars had some inside information.
Oh, sometimes the link says error...just renew the page a few times until its visible. Is just fine.
The term “Flying Saucer” was coined in June 1947. On the 24thof the month, an American pilot named Kenneth Arnold encountered a squadron of strange-looking aircraft flying near Mt. Rainier, Washington State, USA. It’s a fact, however, that UFOs were seen long before Kenneth Arnold’s historic sighting occurred. In the latter part of the 19th century, numerous people across the United States reported sightings of what were termed “mystery airships” and “phantom airships.” During the Second World War, pilots reported close encounters with small balls of light that appeared to be under intelligent control. They became known as “Foo Fighters” (they had nothing to do with Dave Grohl…). Then, in the summer of 1946, Scandinavia was targeted by numerous UFOs. They were referred to as “Ghost Rockets.” Reports surfaced from Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden and caused brief, but worrying, situations for those countries.
On July 11, the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, prepared a secret memo that, in part, reads as follows: “For some weeks there have been numerous reports of strange rocket-like missiles being seen in Swedish and Finnish skies. During [the] past few days reports of such objects being seen have greatly increased…Military Attaché is investigating through Swedish channels and has been promised results of Swedish observations. Swedes profess ignorance as to origin character or purpose of missiles but state definitely they are not launched by Swedes.”
Newspaper photo of Swedish “ghost rocket”, photographed July 9, 1946, by Erik Reuterswärd, Guldsmedshyttan, Sweden.
Although the most obvious – and likely – explanation was that the Ghost Rockets were Soviet in origin, such a theory was never proved. Equally intriguing, midway through July a number of alleged crashes of Ghost Rockets were reported, even though certain facts were withheld; something which leaves the stories open-ended, but still highly thought-provoking. On July 19, 1947, the Oslo-based Aftenposten newspaper ran an article titled “Did two rocket bombs go down in Mjosa?” The article included the following, notable words:
“From a man in Feiring we received this morning a sensational report that two rocket bombs crashed into Mjosa last night. They were shaped like ordinary planes, but quite small with only a 2½-meter wing-span and came between 24 and 0:30 this morning from the west at low height over the southerly part of Feiring, where they were observed by many persons, among them at the Hasselbaken Inn and at the Arnes. The forward one was not lighted. People noticed them because they heard a loud whistle and directly after they came flying into sight at terrific speed. They went so low that trees were left swaying after they passed. Nearly midway out in Mjosa, nearer the Feiring side, the water took a big splash and the spray stood many meters high in the air where the objects disappeared.”
Less than twenty-four hours later, Aftenposten ran a follow-up article, “Are experiments with Flier X underway over Norway?” It told a fascinating story: “Up till now it has not been possible to get any certain corroboration for all the reports which have arrived that rocket planes or rocket projectiles have been observed both in this country and in Sweden. Meanwhile reports recently have been so numerous and definite that they can no longer be rejected as products of people’s lively imaginations. It is far from impossible that one or more foreign powers is conducting secret experiments with new weapons of the V-like type.”
Despite intensive investigations on the part of several countries, the Ghost Rocket phenomenon was never solved to the satisfaction of everyone and it came to a sudden end before 1946 was over. Indeed, like so many UFO encounters that post-dated the 1946 incidents in Scandinavia, the Ghost Rockets incidents had a distinct “here one minute and gone the next minute” aspect to them.
Strange and traumatic dreams that occur after someone has encountered the UFO phenomenon up close and personal are nothing new. The September 1961 alien abduction affair of Betty and Barney Hill is a perfect example. Many, however, might not be aware of the sheer scale of such weird and stressful situations. So, with that latter point in mind, I thought I would share with you a few examples from my old files. They are a few of what amount to many. Today, the phenomenon of so-called Shadow People is very well known. Their name is most apt: these shadow-like entities are dark, human-like in appearance, and dangerous. Theories for who, or what, they may be range from aliens to demons, and shapeshifters to time-travelers. Whatever their point of origin – or maybe even multiple origins – an early encounter with one of these wretched things was encountered in Boston, Massachusetts by a young woman named Sally Salisbury, in early 1961.
In the early hours of a winter’s morning, Salisbury was woken from a deep sleep by the terrifying sight of one of the Shadow People looming over her and oozing negativity and hatred, senses that Salisbury immediately picked up on. Paralysis set in – also immediately – and which lasted for around two minutes, after which the entity vanished. Interestingly, and very likely directly connected, on the following night Salisbury had a graphic dream – if that is all it was – of being taken on-board a UFO and subjected to traumatic and intrusive procedures of a medical and gynecological nature.
There is also the May 1962 report of Leonard Murray, of Beckenham, Kent, England. In the early hours of the morning in question he was awakened from a dead sleep by a “spaceman” wearing a “fishbowl”-style “space helmet” and a light blue outfit. The other-world character warned Murray that a Third World War was on the horizon and that he and his family should prepare to try and survive the looming Apocalypse. Cold War-era anxieties? Or a real encounter with an extraterrestrial concerned about our future as a species? More than half a century later, the chances are we will never find out the truth of this odd encounter.
British Royal Air Force Provost and Security Services files – now officially in the public domain – tell a strange story of the Morris family that was driving near the Staffordshire, England village of Barton-Under-Needwood, at some time after 11:00 p.m. on October 4, 1972. They claimed to have seen a small, metallic-looking UFO that was hovering in the road in front of them at a height of about three or four feet. They were forced to bring their car to a quick halt, and stared, amazed, as the object silently floated before them – at least, for around twenty seconds, after which the UFO shot into the sky. Notably, all of the family had strange dreams the night following the incident – George Morris having dreamed of being taken aboard a UFO and his wife, Sheila, having a nightmare of seeing a creepy, small, humanoid creature standing by the car. Deeply repressed memories of an alien abduction? Very possibly.
After attending a gig in Austin, Texas in April 1982, Sally, Jen, and Mary drove back to their home-city of Waco – also situated in the Lone Star State. On the way back, however, something strange happened around 2:00 a.m.: the three teenage friends had a period of what in UFO/alien abduction research circles is known as “missing time.” Austin to Waco is not a particularly long journey; however, all three girls were shocked to find there was a period of around three hours that could not be accounted for when they got home. They soon began having nightmarish dreams of being taken on-board a UFO by dwarfish creatures that had faces “like frogs.” All three stated they were subjected to intrusive medical procedures and all were told they would forget the experience – which, as it transpires, they clearly did not.
Now, we have to take a trip back to the very early hours of Christmas Day 1985. Only hours after briefly seeing a cigar-shaped UFO hovering near Stonehenge, Wiltshire, England, Sandra Green – who was driving home after a late night Christmas Eve party, in the English city of Bath – had a bizarre dream in which three Men in Black warned her to keep her nose out of UFOs. That the dream was so graphic led Sandra to believe that the MIB had the ability to literally get inside her dreams, manipulate those very same dreams, and issue a bone-chilling warning – one she has not forgotten.
Although skeptics might be inclined to suggest that a dream is just a dream and nothing else, just maybe that’s not always the case.

Filer’s Files #44 -2018 Astronaut Donald Slayton Chased UFOs - PART I
In special reports, this week’s files cover: Astronaut Donald Slayton Chased UFO, Dogon Tribe Claims Aliens were here in the Past, and The Big Lie.
Unidentified Aerial Phenomena sightings were reported over Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.
Unidentified Aerial Phenomena sightings were reported over Belgium, Canada, Portugal, Reuion Island, and England in the United Kingdom.
The Filer Research Institute feels the scientific study of UFOs is for the benefit of humankind and is an important endeavor. The US Air Force investigated UFOs publicly for more than twenty years under Project Blue Book; and I continue this advanced research. I believe the God of the universe has spread life throughout the cosmos and UFO’s are visiting us in ever-increasing numbers.
Forward these files to your friends and neighbors.
Astronaut Donald Slayton Chased UFO
Donald Slayton, a Mercury astronaut, revealed in an interview he had seen UFOs in 1951: “I was testing a P-51 fighter in Minneapolis when I spotted this object. I was at about 10,000 feet on a nice, bright, sunny afternoon. I thought the object was a kite, then I realized that no kite is going to fly that high.” As I got closer it looked like a weather balloon, grey and about three feet in diameter. But as soon as I got behind the darn thing it didn’t look like a balloon anymore. It looked like a saucer, a disk. About the same time, I realized that it was suddenly going away from me – and there I was, running at about 300 miles per hour. I tracked it for a little way, and then all of a sudden the damn thing just took off. It pulled about a 45 degree climbing turn and accelerated and just flat disappeared.”
Dogon Tribe Claims Aliens were here in the Past
Dogon Tribe– In Mali, West Africa, lives a tribe of people called the Dogon whose astronomical lore goes back thousands of years to 3200 BC. According to their traditions, the star Sirius has a companion star which is invisible to the human eye. This companion star has a 50 year elliptical orbit around the visible Sirius and is extremely heavy. It also rotates on its axis.
This legend might be of little interest but the two French anthropologists, Marcel Griaule and Germain Dieterlen, who recorded it from four Dogon priests in the 1930’s. How did a people who lacked any kind of astronomical devices know so much about an invisible star? The star, which scientists call Sirius B, wasn’t even photographed until it was done by a large telescope in 1970.
The Dogon oral traditions claim a race people from the Sirius system called the Nommos visited Earth thousands of years ago. The Nommos were ugly, amphibious beings that resembled mermen and mermaids. If we examine the Ubaid figures at left, we see these Nummo figures were uncovered in Ur, in southern Iraq, and date from around 4500 BCE. According to Gordon Childe, they came from prehistoric villages of the Ubaid culture that was named after a site near Ur explored in 1922. Childe said they reappeared in northern Mesopotamia, where they were found at many sites from the Kurdish foothills in Assyria east of the Tigris River to the bend of the Euphrates near Carchemish, and even further west.13
The British Museum also exhibits other figures that look almost identical to these. One is a terracotta figure of a lizard woman suckling a lizard child. She is described by the museum as a lizard figurine. The museum’s description reports the child’s head as being coffee-bean shaped and elongated, with slanted eyes. Leonard Woolley found the figure, along with a few bones and a clay vessel, in a poorly preserved grave in the cemetery at Ur.
What is interesting is that these figures show horizontal lines that stretch from one side of the belly to the other. They also show the vertical lines that appear in two rows of short slanting incisions forming a series of Vs without points. Another terracotta figure in the British Museum shows these lines extending from just below the figure’s breasts to below the navel, just as Dogon women were tattooed. It is significant that these lines appear on all of the figures.
The lizard figurine from the British Museum clearly reveals the creature has a fish tail. The circular markings at the shoulder joints of these figures may represent the circular bones that distended from the skin of the Nummo at the joints and which were mimicked by the Dogon in wearing copper arm and wrist bracelets. The fact that statues resembling descriptions of the Nummo have been uncovered in the Middle East would suggest the Nummo travelled to other places on Earth besides Africa.
A similar figure, on display in the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, is referred to as a serpent goddess or mother goddess and is from the Proto-Literate period 4000 BCE.
They lack ears and have slanted eyes with a protruding nose that almost resembles a cow’s nose. This is significant because in Egyptian mythology, the Nummo were associated with Isis, who is sometimes known as the “cow of heaven.” The Nummo were amphibious, living both on land and in water. It is evident from the Dogon religion that the Nummo preferred water to land, as their fish-like tails would have been more useful in moving in water than on land.
The Nommos, according to the Dogon legend, lived on a planet that orbits another star in the Sirius system. They landed on Earth in an “ark” that made a spinning decent to the ground with great noise and wind. It was the Nommos that gave the Dogon the knowledge about Sirius B.
The legend goes on to say the Nommos also furnished the Dogon’s with some interesting information about our own solar system: That the planet Jupiter has four major moons, that Saturn has rings and that the planets orbit the sun. These were all facts discovered by Westerners only after Galileo invented the telescope.
The story of the Dogon and their legend was first brought to popular attention by Robert K.G. Temple in a book published in 1977 called The Sirius Mystery. Sirius B’s existence was suspected as early as 1844 and seen was through a telescope in 1862. It doesn’t seem to explain a 400-year old Dogon artifact that apparently depicts the Sirius configuration nor the ceremonies held by the Dogon since the 13th century to celebrate the cycle of Sirius A and B. It also doesn’t explain how the Dogons knew about the super-density of Sirius B, a fact only discovered a few years before the anthropologists recorded the Dogon stories.
It is also important to remember that although many parts of the Dogon legends seem to ring true, other portions are clearly mistaken. One of the Dogon’s beliefs is that Sirius B occupied the place where our Sun is now. Physics clearly prohibits this. Also, if the Dogon believe that Sirius B orbits Sirius A every 50 years, why do they hold their celebrations every 60 years?
Sirius A is the brightest star in our sky and can easily be seen in the winter months in the northern hemisphere. Look for the constellation Orion. Orion’s belt are the three bright stars in a row. Follow an imaginary line through the three stars to Sirius which is just above the horizon. It is bluish in color.
Sirius is only 8.6 light years from Earth. Astronomer W.Bessel was the first to suspect that Sirius had an invisible companion when he observed that the path of the star wobbled. In the 1920’s it was determined that Sirius B, the companion of Sirius, was a “white dwarf” star. The pull of its gravity caused Sirius’s wavy movement.
White dwarfs are small, dense stars that burn dimly. Sirius B is, in fact, smaller than the planet Earth. One teaspoon of Sirius B is so dense that it weighs 5 tons.
So did alien fish-men pay a visit to ancient Earth and give the Dogon their knowledge? Or was the Dogon’s culture contaminated by western visitors? Or could the Dogon’s have had ancient technical or non-technical means to find this information out? Or is the whole thing just a matter of coincidence?
The question maybe settled as larger and more powerful telescopes take a look at the Sirius system. According to the legend there is a third star: Sirius C, and it is around Sirius C that the home planet of the Nommos orbits. Most scientists do not consider any part of the Sirius system a prime candidate for life, though.
When Temple first issued his book in the 1970’s there was no solid evidence of a Sirius C. In 1995, however, two French researchers, Daniel Benest and J.L. Duvent, authored an article in the prestigious journal Astronomy and Astrophysics with the title
Is Sirius a Triple Star? and suggested (based on observations of motions in the Sirius system) there is a small third star there. They thought the star was probably of a type known as a “red dwarf” and only had about .05 the mass of Sirius B.
Ancient Civilizations Possessed Exceptional Knowledge 5500 BC.
Note space ship carved on mountain at upper left
In recent years an increasing number of researchers in astronomy have come to the conclusion that most of the ancient civilizations possessed an exceptional astronomical knowledge. Not only did various advanced cultures across the globe determine the length of the solar year and developed reliable calendar systems, but they were also aware about a certain celestial phenomenon, such as ‘Precession of the Equinox’.
While many of the famous archeological sites offer us solid evidence that ancient temple, pyramids and other buildings were designed and oriented towards the rising and culmination of certain constellations or specific stars like Sirius. Many cultures had a fascination with the stars and their cyclical motion. References to Sirius can be found in early Egyptian and Greek texts. Ancient Sumerian, Babylonian, Indian, Chinese, and Mesoamerican records tell of visitors to Earth from other planets.
French Professor Marcel Griaule and Germaine Dieterlen began, over a period of several decades starting in 1931, undertook an extensive field study of the Dogon tribe in West Africa. Dogon elders revealed secrets of their religion and extraordinary knowledge of the universe.
Later Robert Temple wrote the book “The Sirius Mystery” that truly popularized the knowledge of the Dogon tribe of Mali, Africa. A fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, Temple earned a degree in Oriental studies and Sanskrit at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Temple claims civilization on earth resulted from contact with inhabitants of a planet in the Sirius star system prior to 3,000 B.C. Sumerians and several other African tribes claim they were visited by extraterrestrials who came from a watery planet.
They were given great knowledge by visitors from a planet within Orion’s Belt near Sirius. The tribal cultures and most sacred traditions are based on special knowledge of the Sirius system is astounding in its accuracy and detail, including information only recently known to modern science. The Dogon legends about two companion to Sirius are claimed to originate before any terrestrial astronomer could have known of the existence of Sirius B, let alone its 50-year orbit or its nature as a tiny, condensed white dwarf star, all of which the Dogon allegedly knew.In the information imparted to the French anthropologists, the Dogon referred to a small and super-dense companion of Sirius, made of matter heavier than anything on Earth, and moving in a 50-year elliptical orbit around its parent star and a third outer orbiting star. The white dwarf companion of Sirius which answers to this description was not seen until 1862, when the American optician Alvan Graham Clark spotted it while testing a new telescope; the superdense nature of white dwarfs was not realized until the 1920s. A Dogon legend, similar to many other tales by primitive people of visits from the sky, speaks of an “ark” descending to the ground amid a great wind. The Dogon claim the ark brought to Earth an amphibious group of beings, known as the Nommo. “Nommo is the collective name for the great culture-hero and founder of civilization who came from the Sirius system to set up society on the Earth,” The Sumerians also claim they were visited by similar being called Oannes who brought writing, organization and education. The Dogon’s cosmogonic legend explains the structure of the universe and the origin of life. It appears that long before empirical science established their facts, the Dogon already knew that “the sun turns on its own axis, as if propelled by a huge spiral spring. The Earth turns on its axis, around its center, and makes a great circle like a top its spinning. The moon turns like a conical spiral around the Earth.” The Dogon elders not only possess an accurate astronomical understanding of our solar system, but they also have an astonishing clear perception of mankind’s place in the universe.gon believe Amma is the supreme God, the creator of the universe. The starting point of creation. Amma means: to hold tight, embrace strongly and keep in the same place”.
The Nommo Monitors are the “ancestors” of men, to whom Amma entrusted a part of the management of the universe. Genesis in the Bible tells a similar account of the Nephilim, “Those Who Have Come Down, from the Heaven to Earth.” The Dogon describe an ark raising a whirlwind, presumably a spaceship. The impact roughened the ground and the flame went out when it touched the earth. The ark moved to a hollow that was filled with water, whereupon the aliens emerged.According to Berossus, a Babylonian historian the whole body of the alien was like a fish; and had under fish’s head another head, and also feet below, similar to a man, subjoined to the fish’s tail. His voice was articulate and provided advanced technology to the Babylonians, how to build cities and temples, develop laws and taught mathematics to create civiization, etc build. He was similar to the stories of mermen and mermaids. He jumped into the water at sunset. Astronomers have speculated that many planets water planets where life could have developed. The Dogon have a 400 year old artifact that shows the three star system. These aliens combined their DNA with the animals of Earth to create humanity. According to the Dogon, there wasn’t any intelligent life on the planet when the Nummo first came here.. According to the Dogon, the Nummo were perceived as being immortal; that is, when they died and were reborn, they were able to remember their previous existence. Because the Nummos’ world was dying, they planned to incorporate their consciousness into the Earth beings they created and then live here on the planet. The beings were technology superior to humans. I suspect the idea of human superiority was the main reason why the existence of the Nummo has been historically denied. The Nummo, also referred to as the Serpents, were amphibians that were often compared to serpents, lizards, chameleons. They were also identified as fish capable of walking on land; while they were on land, the Nummo stood upright on their tails. The Nummos’ skin was primarily green. The fingers of the Nummo were likewise unusual and differed from humans. The physical appearance of the Nummo could be seen in the jeweler and other styles of the tribe. Copper rings were only worn on the first finger, ring finger, or little finger because on the Nummos’ webbed hands circular swellings appeared on these fingers in the place of joints, which these rings imitated. He said people of the tribe didn’t wear rings on the thumb or third finger because on the Serpent those fingers were smooth and supple so that rings wouldn’t stay in place. Because the Nummo only had a tail instead of feet, no one in the tribe wore jeweler on his or her toes. They did however wear a copper ring or a row of beads on the right ankle to replicate the circular bone found at the end of the Nummo’s tail.In other examples of the Dogon mimicking the appearance of the Nummo, members of the tribe wore a circlet of green beads on their temples to mimic the Nummos’ glittering forehead and necklaces to represent the wrinkles of the Serpent’s neck. This circlet of green beads on the Nummos’ temple and the Nummos’ wrinkled neck are also characteristics of iguanas. The two red beads members of the tribe wore on their nostrils signified the Nummos’ red eyes. Other tribal members wore copper bracelets on their wrists and elbows to represent the circular bones that extended from the skin at that part of the Serpent’s arms.Women also filed their teeth to a point to mimic the sharp teeth of the Serpent and had tattoos on their bodies that resembled the lines found on the Nummos’ belly.
These figures were uncovered in Ur, in southern Iraq, and date from around 4500 BCE. According to Gordon Childe, they came from prehistoric villages of the Ubaid culture that was named after a site near Ur explored in 1922. Childe said they reappeared in northern Mesopotamia, where they were found at many sites from the Kurdish foothills in Assyria east of the Tigris River to the bend of the Euphrates near Carchemish, and even further west.A terracotta figure in the British Museum shows these lines extending from just below the figure’s breasts to below the navel, just as Dogon women were tattooed. On the figures, the lines only appear below the navel. It is significant that these lines appear on all of the figures. The fact that statues resembling descriptions of the Nummo have been uncovered in the Middle East would suggest the Nummo travelled to other places on Earth besides Africa.A similar figure, on display in the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, is referred to as a serpent goddess or mother goddess and is from the Proto-Literate period 4000 BCE. The statue in the Baghdad museum has been damaged, and the bottom is missing, but it does have the same lines on the belly. They are snake-, fish-, and lizard-like. The Nummos’ eyes were slanted, just as they are on these figures. They have shapeless necks and have unusual somewhat protruding nose that almost resembles a cow’s nose. This is significant because in Egyptian mythology, the Nummo were associated with Isis, who is sometimes known as the “cow of heaven.” The Nummo were amphibious, living both on land and in water. It is evident from the Dogon religion that the Nummo preferred water to land, as their fish-like tails would have been more useful in moving in water than on land.Amphibians best known to us are frogs, toads, and salamanders, species which have survived for hundreds of millions of years. Dogon mythology tells that the Nummo preferred dark, cool caves and liked to move about at night rather than in the daylight. It is possible that they might have been affected by sunlight in the same way as these modern long-toed salamanders were. Thanks to Robber TempleThe Big LieNew York Times bestselling author Dinesh D’Souza is out with a new book aimed at exposing what he calls “The Big Lie” of the progressive Left. 3 to 5 million Democrats in 1930 were in the KKK”Ever since Trump, the Left has been accusing him of being a fascist; the Republican Party is the party of Neo-Nazis — all of this is based on the assumption that fascism is on the Right, (that) it’s a ring-wing thing,” D’Souza told CBN News. “What I do in the book is kind of a deep history of fascism and National Socialism. I show, “These have always been on the Left.'”
In his new book, The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left, D’Souza says it is not the GOP that is the party closely aligned with fascism, but the Democratic Left.He makes the claim that Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger inspired Nazi racial theorists. “Margaret Sanger was part of a community in the United States and they were the community of eugenics. Eugenics means you sort of encourage the people you think are fit or successful to have children, and you try to prevent the people you consider to be inferior from breeding at all,” explained D’Souza.”So Margaret Sanger supported forced sterilization, and these forced sterilization laws that were promoted in the United States were copied by the Nationalist Socialist Party (Nazis) in 1933 for the notorious Nazi-forced sterilization program,” he continued.”And similarly American progressives were advocating what one guy called lethal chambers to kill off people. And the Nazis again established a euthanasia program using lethal chambers to kill 6 million Jews with carbon monoxide gas,” he said.
Planned Parenthood even now aborts some 50o,000 babies a year at a public government cost of 500 million dollars. Since seven members of the Supreme Court passed Roe vs Wade 60,000.000 (sixty million) babies have been killed. The abortion pill costs a $1000.00. Thousands of Americans go to foreign countries to adopt babies that could be born here.If you go to the college campuses you see these groups called anti-fascist, and yet if you look at them they’re wearing costumes; they wear masks; they carry bike locks and baseballs bats as weapons,” D’Souza told CBN.”They intimidate. They terrorize. They use violence yet they’re doing it supposedly to fight fascism — except they look like the fascists, they talk like the fascists and they behave like fascists.Article III | Constitution Section 3 states. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. The main US news media broadcasts over 90% of the stories that are strongly against the government and elected President giving aid and comfort to the enemies of this country nightly. Because treason involves the betrayal of allegiance to the United States, a person need not be a U.S. citizen to commit treason under the Constitution. Persons who owe temporary allegiance to the United States can commit treason. Aliens who are domiciliaries of the United States, for example, can commit traitorous acts during the period of their domicile. A subversive act does not need to occur on U.S. soil to be punishable as treason. For example, Mildred Gillars, a U.S. citizen who became known as Axis Sally, was convicted of treason for broadcasting demoralizing propaganda tallied forces in Europe from a Nazi radio station in Germany during World War II. Each night I hear demoralizing propaganda from the news media concerning the President who has given us jobs and comparative prosperity. MSNBC claims Trump is a Nazi. The media is pushing people apart and creating the likelihood of insurrection. Treason is punishable by death. If a death sentence is not imposed, defendants face a minimum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine (18 U.S.C.A. § 2381). A person who is convicted of treason may not hold federal office at any time thereafter. I recommend not buying any product advertized on the evening news. Maricopa — I was taking video of the moon as I do 3-4 times a week. It was cloudy on the 22nd. I finally got a brief break in the clouds. At 6:07 I started to record. At 1 minute and 7 seconds #1 comes from the 2 o’clock position to the 8 o’clock position.#2 comes out at the 1:20 time frame. it comes out at 9 o’clock. #3 passes right by #2.. #4 comes in at 2:40 from the 4 o’clock position to the 7 o’clock position. #5 2:50 the cigar shape comes from 2 o’clock to 5 o’clock. #6 comes in at 3:40. He is traveling from the 8 o’clock position to the 5 o’clock position. #7 comes in at 3:48 and is traveling from the 2 ‘clock position. #8 comes in a 5:32. it is just visible for a minute at the very top of the moon. The video is on Youtube on Moonshot 23 channel. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Hot Springs — My husband and I were on vacation in on October 27, 2018, at around 7:15 pm, we were leaving our cabin which was in a remote area about 10 minutes outside of Hot Springs. I looked up above I saw an object wasn’t moving. I grabbed my cell phone and began taking pictures. My husband asked me what the heck was taking so long, so I had him get out of the car and look to see what he thought. He was as baffled as I was. I then took a video. I was wondering how close they were to the object, but it was too hard to tell. Unfortunately, I did not get that on video. We watched it for another minute or two, and then left. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Monrovia– On October 17, 2018, my father was driving on the 210-W Freeway when he noticed a dark object hovering in the sky. At first he thought it was a cloud so he pulled his phone to take pictures, thinking it was strange to see such a tiny cloud floating along by itself. He witnessed it for about 10-minutes during the drive, a hotel that blocked his view. When he came around the other side of the bend the object was just gone. The object was just hovering there.
Alys Beach – My wife and I were biking west/northwest to our house on 30A from dinner at Rosemary Beach (1 mile to the east/southeast at 8:00PM. We noticed two orbs at 45-degree elevation in the sky that appeared to be less than a mile away at ~2,000 feet. One orb was white and appeared to be rotating slowly. The other orb would alternate between green and red. The light emission slowly pulsated in a somewhat irregular. I moved to the western edge of Alys Beach along 30A and observed the craft for 20 minutes. Each moved in a different oblong pattern circling away from Alys Beach while changing altitude and then both would circle back. I observed the orbs for another ten minutes. Eglin Air Force Base is located 25 miles to the west. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Portage — It is getting dark at 6:30 PM this time of year on October 15, 2018, so I am observing my UFO friends earlier. I first noticed one in July of this year. I observed UFO/Drones out the front and back windows with my 10×50 binoculars, the front one being more distant and thus less interesting. About 6:48 PM, I noticed a brightly lit small plane approaching the UFO from behind and above. I estimate the UFO to be about 10 feet in diameter, and 1,000 yards away and about 450 feet high.I went out into the backyard with my “iPad” camera to get a better view and took 13 pictures that turned out dim and fuzzy, but do show a circle of lights. Note: The witness likely took a photo of an out of focus planet or star. Thanks to William Puckett, Director Http://www.UFOsnw.com
New Jersey Triangle
Cape May — We were at my kids soccer game when silver/metallic object appeared above the soccer game with many witnesses. Some of the kids say a triangular object came out of the bottom of the object.Monroe — I was watching TV it had just turned October 7th my sisters birthday, when I felt an extreme “telepathic like” urge to go onto the balcony. My uncle recorded this and noticed the alien later watching the video. It appeared as if there was a plane downing in the farm field at 12:36 am! I ran back to the deck to find two brilliant extremely bright lights cloaking a gigantic triangular craft 40 yardx40yardx40yarda 120 feet.It was only 75feet above me and was silent. It observed me for 5 minutes but could have been hours. 3 separateGreen, red, green-white randomly flashing around the craft! the center of the triangle was circular of a power force looking orange. Tithe bottom of the craft was made of a metallic alloy, grayish black that was ultra smooth looking,it had finally left from a hovering position to a slow non earthly drag crossing right over the trees! After the event occurred all I remember is waking up on the couch.I would be subject to an array of powerful, divine, intriguing addiction of different dimensional dream states each night surviving on other planets. Thanks to MUFON CMS
New York Cylinder
Utica— My uncle recorded this and didn’t notice the alien until later watching the video. the video in Slow Motion. The video of the cylinder was taken on October 29, 2018. Note: No alien was observed except cylinder. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Perrysville — While taking pictures of a local drill site with my dad, we did not notice anything strange on September 3, 2018. We also did not hear a jet engine or anything to indicate a craft was nearby. Before leaving the site, I took a series of photos and then rolled up the windows and left the site. After looking back at the pictures obtained, we noticed a symmetrical craft extremely detailed in the photo. My dad is a private pilot and former Army and I am retired from the Marine Corps and we both have never seen a delta shaped craft like this. My dad has reached out to other pilots to help identify without any help. We cannot figure out if the craft is descending towards us or ascending away from us. The vector the craft is flying towards Mansfield LAM where the 179th Air Wing is located. My dad has asked 12 airmen from the wing and non have confirmed to know anything about this craft. It looked just like a Sting ray and was all black. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Kensington — On Tuesday 6:02 am, I noticed an aircraft on October 30, 2018. As the object turned towards me. I said, “That’s not an airplane or helicopter”. .And as it got closer, I did not hear a sound. .I recorded the object to the best of my ability..I caught a triangular shape as it moved over me with a red and 2 white lights blinking. If someone can track this thing on October 30, 2018, at 6:02 am over and Allegheny Avenue. Northeast Philadelphia. Thanks to MUFON CMS
San Antonio — I was looking at the southern sky I turned around to look north and noticed 3 meteors falling they were falling like a feather nm July 7, 2018. It was an angular fall. I began to wonder what it was. I was on my drive way. It was heading to the center of city it continued to fall. The tips of triangle are burning hot bright white yellow. Just as I thought it was going to crash land it pulled up ventral side up I noticed the pink burning atmosphere around the sides. It had 3 bright green lights on its sides. It looked as large as a jet airliner. As it pulled up to avoid a crash it flew over the area it appeared to head to downtown area or a base. Following parallel to Fredericksburg road. I did not hear a sound. There were no planes helicopters or jets before or after. It was a very quiet night. As I stool there focusing on it as it became more clear it was a triangle with big bright green lights burning through the atmosphere just as I was losing sight over neighbors roof. I knew what I saw. I my hairs all over rose up my eyes opened wider and I said oh my God e times . no one was awake. At the time or on the street. I saw was not terrestrial. Or it had been a test and all air traffic was halted for it. Unless they USA air force had seen it and cleared traffic. It pulled up and flew against the air flat and burned pink along with the tips burning white very bright. It was the most exciting sighting I have. I have seen 2 other things in the past. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Burien— My boyfriend and I were driving North on Highway 509 at 8:30, on November1, 2018. He commented on these bright lights ahead of us, There were 5 very bright, round lights in a horse-shoe formation not moving- they held their position and distance apart from one another. After a couple of minutes we lost sight of them because we were going slightly downhill and the dense trees to our right blocked them from view. I was anxious for the trees to clear to get another look. I looked behind us and all around to try to see where they had gone- it seemed that they would still be visible since they were so big. Even though there is an airport in the vicinity, they were not airplanes. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Worldwide UFO Sightings
Hulpe— On the evening of September 29, 2018, after watching the film I decided to perform my nightly ritual before going to sleep. My ritual is to go and observe the UFOs. I am used to seeing. but that evening, I saw something different, a round light stagnated in the sky behind trees. so i decided to record this unique moment with my phone (Samsung s6). during the capture of the video, we see a luminous ball flying over without moving. This ufo emitted a continuous light and was later joined with two other objects. i decided to cut the video to show my parents the ufos. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Winnipeg — Richmond west near the Kirkbridge Railroad Crossing facing Pembina. On the way to the store which is visible on the far right corner of image (brick building). I recently wanted to try out the new camera, It recently rained so everything was wet and I thought that spot looked nice with the very slight elevation and light reflections. I did not notice anything that night. I didn’t notice the photo. until a few days later and instantly noticed, lights, shape, of a ufo. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Reunion Island Lights
Saint Pierre — On October 27th, 2018, when we finish eating, an information circulates on the social networks. We go up to the top floor of our house to observe the Panoramic view on the horizon .At 20:50 exactly, we saw a light about 12/15 km from our position. A flash catches my attention, so I took my camera to capture two objects. The light made a brutal descent and then remained static .Some seconds later, another luminous point made a descent and one can observe that this second light turns around the first one which after a few seconds later disappeared (see videos). It is not the first time that one observes strange things in this sector. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Albufeira — I was walking my dog, and saw two big balls flying by at different speeds.. I stopped the video to take a picture. I thought immediately it was an UFO, I am near the Faro Airport and know exactly what are planes and helicopters. When I got home I showed the video to everyone and they say it was really weird. I tried to get answers online in Portuguese, and nobody could explain anything. Recorded with Samsung Galaxy S5 Thanks to MUFON CMS
South Africa Object
Monterey — At Laguna Race track on August 12, 2018, my wife pointed out the very bright pinpoint of hovering light in the sky. I was taking photos of race cars – with a 300mm lens and took the attached photo. We took a print with us to Sutherland, the giant telescope center in the Cape in South Africa. They said they’d forward my original to the ‘heavies’ in Cape Town. The scientists/astronomers at the center in Cape Town said they circulated the picture, and no-one had a clue as to what it might be. Thanks to MUFON CMS
London— I was recently moved to north London to relax I had been watching airplanes for a good 10 minutes and saw a dark object that appeared to be moving in tight curves. It was ascending through several layers of a smattering of small rainclouds, appearing and disappearing through the clouds as it quickly rose in altitude. I first thought perhaps it was a bird of prey riding thermals before realizing it would have to be an impossibly large bird to be visible at such a distance. At this point I wasn’t listening to my partner anymore as this dark object stopped it’s steep and random twisting ascent and rapidly approached in a straight line towards us. I pointed it out to my partner as I was taken aback by its sudden approach, After pointing it out and exclaiming ‘what is that!?’ They also saw it and were confused and used their phone to try zoom in on the object. It descended as it now appeared much larger as a pitch black curved chevron shape very flat with no visible engines or body, just two large spiked and curved wings. I had never seen a plane simply stop and hover before. Thanks to MUFON CMS

“A Dangerous Game?” MIT Proposes Laser Signaling Astronomers in Nearby Star Systems
“A Dangerous Game?” MIT Proposes Laser Signaling Astronomers in Nearby Star Systems
“If you wanted to build this thing on the far side of the moon where no one’s living or orbiting much, then that could be a safer place for it,” says MIT’s James Clark.
If extraterrestrial intelligence exists somewhere in our galaxy, a new MIT study proposes that laser technology on Earth could, in principle, be fashioned into something of a planetary porch light—a beacon strong enough to attract attention from as far as 20,000 light years away.
But, are we just asking for trouble? In his later years, Stephen Hawking repeatedly warned about the dangers of humankind meeting alien civilizations. In his 2010 documentary series Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking, he suggested that alien civilizations sufficiently advanced to visit Earth may be hostile.
“Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they could reach,” he said. “Who knows what the limits would be?”
China’s philosopher of alien contact, Liu Cixin, China’s preeminent science-fiction writer warns that the “appearance of this Other” might be imminent, and that it might result in our extinction. “Perhaps in ten thousand years, the starry sky that humankind gazes upon will remain empty and silent,” he writes in the postscript to one of his books. “But perhaps tomorrow we’ll wake up and find an alien spaceship the size of the Moon parked in orbit.”
“Any society with the capability to threaten Earth is overwhelmingly likely to already have the kit required to pick up the leakage we’ve been wafting skyward for seven decades,” Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer at the SETI Institute, wrote in a 2016 opinion piece for the Guardian. “And since we’ve been busy for a lifetime filling the seas of space with bottled messages marking our existence and position, it’s a bit silly to fret about new bottles.”
“There’s a possibility that if we actively message, with the intention of getting the attention of an intelligent civilization, that the civilization we contact would not necessarily have our best interests in mind,” says Lucianne Walkowicz, an astrophysicist at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. “On the other hand, there might be great benefits. It could be something that ends life on Earth, and it might be something that accelerates the ability to live quality lives on Earth. We have no way of knowing.”
Latest news:A New Ghost Particle at the LHC?
The research, which Clark calls a “feasibility study,” appears today in the Astrophysical Journal. The findings suggest that if a high-powered 1- to 2-megawatt laser were focused through a massive 30- to 45-meter telescope and aimed out into space, the combination would produce a beam of infrared radiation strong enough to stand out from the sun’s energy.
Such a signal could be detectable by alien astronomers performing a cursory survey of our section of the Milky Way—especially if those astronomers live in nearby systems, such as around Proxima Centauri, the nearest star to Earth, or TRAPPIST-1, a star about 40 light-years away that hosts seven exoplanets, three of which are potentially habitable. If the signal is spotted from either of these nearby systems, the study finds, the same megawatt laser could be used to send a brief message in the form of pulses similar to Morse code.
“If we were to successfully close a handshake and start to communicate, we could flash a message, at a data rate of about a few hundred bits per second, which would get there in just a few years,” says Clark, a graduate student in MIT’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and author of the study.
The notion of such an alien-attracting beacon may seem far-fetched, but Clark says the feat can be realized with a combination of technologies that exist now and that could be developed in the near term. “This would be a challenging project but not an impossible one,” Clark says.
“The kinds of lasers and telescopes that are being built today can produce a detectable signal, so that an astronomer could take one look at our star and immediately see something unusual about its spectrum. I don’t know if intelligent creatures around the sun would be their first guess, but it would certainly attract further attention.”
Clark started looking into the possibility of a planetary beacon as part of a final project for 16.343 (Spacecraft, and Aircraft Sensors and Instrumentation), a course taught by Clark’s advisor, Associate Professor Kerri Cahoy. “I wanted to see if I could take the kinds of telescopes and lasers that we’re building today, and make a detectable beacon out of them,” Clark says.
Latest news:“The Arsia Mons Phenomena” –A Thousand-Mile-Long Cloud, Not a 50-Million-Year Old Giant Volcano Erupting on Mars
He started with a simple conceptual design involving a large infrared laser and a telescope through which to further focus the laser’s intensity. His aim was to produce an infrared signal that was at least 10 times greater than the sun’s natural variation of infrared emissions. Such an intense signal, he reasoned, would be enough to stand out against the sun’s own infrared signal, in any “cursory survey by an extraterrestrial intelligence.”
He analyzed combinations of lasers and telescopes of various wattage and size, and found that a 2-megawatt laser, pointed through a 30-meter telescope, could produce a signal strong enough to be easily detectable by astronomers in Proxima Centauri b, a planet that orbits our closest star, 4 light-years away. Similarly, a 1-megawatt laser, directed through a 45-meter telescope, would generate a clear signal in any survey conducted by astronomers within the TRAPPIST-1 planetary system, about 40 light-years away. Either setup, he estimated, could produce a generally detectable signal from up to 20,000 light-years away.
Both scenarios would require laser and telescope technology that has either already been developed, or is within practical reach. For instance, Clark calculated that the required laser power of 1 to 2 megawatts is equivalent to that of the U.S. Air Force’s Airborne Laser, a now-defunct megawatt laser that was meant to fly aboard a military jet for the purpose of shooting ballistic missiles out of the sky. He also found that while a 30-meter telescope considerably dwarfs any existing observatory on Earth today, there are plans to build such massive telescopes in the near future, including the 24-meter Giant Magellan Telescope and the 39-meter European Extremely Large Telescope, both of which are currently under construction in Chile.
Clark envisions that, like these massive observatories, a laser beacon should be built atop a mountain, to minimize the amount of atmosphere the laser would have to penetrate before beaming out into space.
He acknowledges that a megawatt laser would come with some safety issues. Such a beam would produce a flux density of about 800 watts of power per square meter, which is approaching that of the sun, which generates about 1,300 watts per square meter. While the beam wouldn’t be visible, it could still damage people’s vision if they were to look directly at it. The beam could also potentially scramble any cameras aboard spacecraft that happen to pass through it.
If you wanted to build this thing on the far side of the moon where no one’s living or orbiting much, then that could be a safer place for it,” Clark says. “In general, this was a feasibility study. Whether or not this is a good idea, that’s a discussion for future work.”
Taking E.T.’s call: Having established that a planetary beacon is technically feasible, Clark then flipped the problem and looked at whether today’s imaging techniques would be able to detect such an infrared beacon if it were produced by astronomers elsewhere in the galaxy. He found that, while a telescope 1 meter or larger would be capable of spotting such a beacon, it would have to point in the signal’s exact direction to see it.
“It is vanishingly unlikely that a telescope survey would actually observe an extraterrestrial laser, unless we restrict our survey to the very nearest stars,” Clark says.
He hopes the study will encourage the development of infrared imaging techniques, not only to spot any laser beacons that might be produced by alien astronomers, but also to identify gases in a distant planet’s atmosphere that might be indications of life.
“With current survey methods and instruments, it is unlikely that we would actually be lucky enough to image a beacon flash, assuming that extraterrestrials exist and are making them,” Clark says. “However, as the infrared spectra of exoplanets are studied for traces of gases that indicate the viability of life, and as full-sky surveys attain greater coverage and become more rapid, we can be more certain that, if E.T. is phoning, we will detect it.”

Unexplained: Pieces Of A UFO Have Been Falling From The Sky
Unexplained: Pieces Of A UFO Have Been Falling From The Sky
Imagine waking up one morning to find that metal is falling out of the sky.
That is exactly what happened in Preah Vihear Province located in Cambodia. Those living there one day found metal fragments literally falling out of the sky, creating a dangerous and puzzling situation where individuals had to duck for cover and where houses were damaged due to the falling debris. Once the fragments had all fallen to earth it was now time to determine where the large fragments of metal came from. Could these be from a plane that crashed in mid-flight or as some now suspect the remains of something else? As one villager was quoted as saying the remains led to an even bigger puzzle in which to solve.
A villager said:
''I heard a big noise in the morning. I was shocked and thought something bad had happened. When I went to look there was one big piece in a field and other smaller pieces around. We thought an airplane had crashed but there was no big engine.”
Once the fragments were gathered by local authorities it was time to figure out where the metal came from, but the investigation led to more question then answers. It would seem that no one has been able to pinpoint exactly where the metal came from, and it certainly was from nothing on this earth. So, the question now seems to be could this be an actual piece of a UFO and all that is left of an alien spaceship? Some believe now that this could very well be the case, but the local authorities want to know for sure where all this heavy metal came from and the wreckage has now been turned over to specialists for further investigation as Yin Chamnan, police chief of Preah Vihear explained in a statement to the public.
''We have found more than 17 fallen fragments of aluminum and rubber. But, we are continuing the search and are collecting further information from the people at the scene, ” he went on to further try to explain what it could be. 'Maybe these fragments are parts of a drone that someone flew. The parts were not relatively big, ”
Despite this public statement, there are those in the village who believe that the wreckage is what is left of an alien spaceship and one of them was quoted a saying.
''Now I think that it has come from space and landed in our village. It's confusing because nobody knows what it is, ”
So, the question now is could this be further proof of visitors from another planet coming to the earth? We may never actually know for sure unfortunately, history has documented situations where people on earth have witnessed either UFO' in the sky and even witness what they believe was a UFO crashing on earth many of us remember or heard of the incident at Roswell.
Bottom line is although we suspect these incidents have happened the government and authorities seem to always give us a story that they believe is feasible to explain what ha happened. Apparently, the same thing is already happening in Cambodia, but like Roswell, there will be those who will always believe this is further proof that we aren't alone in the universe.
Former NASA employee warns: we saw a fleet of unknown ships heading to Earth
Former NASA employee warns: we saw a fleet of unknown ships heading to Earth
Dr. Eric Norton” has worked as a consultant for the National Security Agency (NSA) and NASA for about 12 years. He has worked on many projects for the government, most recently with the Meteoroid Environment Office (MEO) which is involved in several research projects with the underlying goal of gaining a better understanding of the meteoroid environment so that the MEO models can be improved. They basically monitor the skies, track meteors and other objects in space.
On January 22, Dr. Eric Norton (who was a NASA consultant who was in charge of doing all the monitoring work for possible celestial threats, such as comets or asteroids that might impact the earth) was called. He went to the MacDonald Observatory located in Texas.
AT THAT MOMENT They used a wide range of installation tools so that Dr. Norton could detect a group of unidentified spacecraft with a somewhat threatening appearance. Apparently they saw a series of large structures of large dimensions in space that formed a straight line that was moving towards the planet Earth.
DURING A PERIOD OF THREE MONTHS Dr. Norton monitored the spacecraft, following the direction of the coordinates. These objects moved millions of kilometers but did not go so far as to enter the planet earth. According to the doctor, the boats had a level of technology far superior to that of our spacecraft.
He also said that the spectroscopy data suggested that unknown objects were constructed with different materials, millions of times more energetic than any of the ones we have on earth.
Of course, this hypothesis has caused great concern between Dr. Norton and his colleagues at NASA, since in addition to this, the ultraviolet spectrum images showed that the cosmic particles that adjoin the alien space diverted what must be a field of different energy the magnetic field that protects the planet Earth.
In the last ten years, the techniques have advanced a lot, especially the techniques of camouflage. Therefore, it should not surprise us if an alien civilization much more advanced than us possesses a technology that makes them become physically invisible … What do you think? To study what is accelerating our universe's expansion, scientists will use a new experiment with choreographed robots to watch millions of galaxies every 20 minutes.
In a video released Oct. 4 by the Berkeley Lab (managed by the University of California), engineers explained the ingenuity behind the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI). They described DESI as a crazy machine made up of mechanical flower petals that, together, can do a grand survey of the cosmos.
The footage gives viewers a behind-the-scenes peek at the hardware's assembly. "It's really exciting to work on it," DESI Focal Plane Lead Engineer Joseph Silber said in the video. [Bringing Dark Energy Out into the Light]
Galaxies are like the streetlights of the universe, dark energy researcher Peter Behroozi said in an earlier Berkeley Lab video about DESI. Neither dark energy nor dark matter emit light, though, so looking at objects that generate optical points will help researchers learn about the unseen, Behroozi said.
DESI will create a 3D celestial map to "pin down the nature of dark energy," Stéphanie Juneau, project scientist at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) Data Lab, said in the earlier video.
DESI is a rapidly cycling survey, and Silber said the instrument's speed is possible thanks to the 5,000 individual fiber-positioning robots. Each one views the position of a galaxy, and after 20 minutes, all 5,000 of these robots move on to new targets.
Ten wedge-shaped sections called petals hold 500 of these robots each. An individual wedge covers 36 degrees, and together, the petals make up DESI's 360-degree focal plane. The instrument will be mounted near the top of the Mayall Telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory near Tucson, Arizona.
The observations obtained by the fibers need a way to carry that information along, so they get fused to a larger cable that takes the information to the spectroscopes that measure the light.
"We expose the bare strands of glass, and then we heat them up in a very precise way to make that connection without any losses in terms of optical quality … or any degradation of the light," said Claire Poppett, DESI lead fiber scientist.
And to further ensure the pristine quality of the instrument, the air flowing into the assembly area comes in parallel lines. Known as laminar air flow, this type of air movement keeps contamination and dust at bay by preventing them from swirling around in the room.
High-definition video has a new home: the International Space Station. A new video from NASA shows the astronauts working on their experiments, recorded in 8K imagery so clear that it makes it feel like you're floating right alongside them.
"Microgravity unlocks new worlds of discovery," reads text in the video, which was a joint project of NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA). "The science being conducted aboard the International Space Station is answering questions that hold the keys to our future in space and on Earth."
The rest of the video shows the Expedition 56 crew busily working on experiments aboard the orbiting complex. ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, NASA's Serena Auñón-Chancellor and NASA's Drew Feustel (who has since returned to Earth) feature prominently in the video.
These astronauts look really busy, but they also look like they're having a lot of fun. In between their work tasks, which are often scheduled down to 5-minute increments, the astronauts flash quick smiles to the camera before intensely concentrating again on the task at hand.
And there's a lot of NASA research on offer in the video, in part because the agency advertises opportunities for research in the accompanying video text on YouTube. For instance, Auñón-Chancellor tends to the plants as part of the Plant Habitat-1 experiment, which "comprehensively compares differences in genetics, metabolism, photosynthesis and gravity sensing between plants grown in space and on Earth," according to NASA.
Gerst is shown surrounded by floating objects as part of the SPHERES Tether Slosh experiment. NASA says this investigation "combines fluid-dynamics equipment with robotic capabilities aboard the space station to investigate automated strategies for steering passive cargo that contain[s] fluids."
Feustel, in between commanding the increment, performs work on the ground (or, because there is no up in space, is that the ceiling?) next to Kibo (the Japanese Experiment Module airlock), a facility that can shoot small satellites into space or put experiments out into the vacuum.
In between the astronaut activities, attentive viewers can also catch views of the Cupola — a wraparound window perfect for Earth observations — and the Canadarm2, which is routinely used to capture robotic spacecraft. There also are stunning views of our planet, including a jaw-dropping image of a hurricane.
One of humanity's newest spacecraft faced a harrowing test late Monday night (Nov. 5), darting just 15 million miles (24 million kilometers) of the surface of our sun.
That spacecraft is NASA's Parker Solar Probe, which launched in August with a daring mission to study the star that shapes our lives. To do so, it is flying a course of 24 close loops around the sun, the first of which reached what scientists call perihelion — the moment of closest approach — Monday at 10:28 p.m. EST (0328 GMT Nov. 6).
All throughout the few days surrounding perihelion, the spacecraft is essentially on its own. That's because the sun is such a powerful source of radio-wave light that it drowns out the spacecraft's communications with Earth.
And the spacecraft isn't just responsible for independently taking measurements during that time — it also needs to protect itself from the overwhelming heat of the sun. To do so, it will continuously tilt itself to keep its thermal protection shield between the star and the instruments.
Parker Solar Probe's first report back to Earth will be just a beep, according to a statement from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, which manages the spacecraft. It has a repertoire of four different options, one of which means everything is fine. Once the engineers behind the spacecraft hears that first beep, they'll have a better sense of what to expect from the first delivery of detailed science data, due in early December.
By that time, the spacecraft will already be well on its way out from the sun as it prepares for its next orbit. It will achieve two more perihelions in 2019, one in April and one in September. Then, next December it will complete the second of seven Venus flybys, which nudges the spacecraft's trajectory gradually closer to the star.
During tonight's maneuver, the spacecraft will be traveling at more than 213,000 mph (343,000 km/h). (At the end of October, the Parker Solar Probe broke world records for fastest speed and closest approach to the sun.)
As the $1.5 billion Parker Solar Probe mission unfurls over the course of seven years, each perihelion will sneak closer to the surface of the sun, with the spacecraft in the end dancing less than 4 million miles (6 million kilometers) above our star. Those approaches will also become faster, with its final perihelion clocking in at 430,000 mph (700,000 k/h).
THE truth is out there, or so a video posted to Facebook appears to reveal.
In a series of photos, edited to appear as a video, posted to Solar Sonic Solutions business Facebook page, a white, circular light can be seen in different locations around Lake Perseverance, near Toowoomba.
"We aren't sure what it was, but it's definitely on our strange and unusual list," a spokesperson for Solar Sonic Solutions said.
"On Friday (October 26) a truck driver named Garry was travelling over the Lake Perseverance bridge when he noticed a blinding light hovering and darting around in the air.
"Garry pulled his truck over and took out his mobile snapping some photos.
"Due to the bright light moving around unpredictably, it was hard to take the photos but Garry managed to snap three decent quality photos before the strange ball of light shot off up into the sky."
The ball of light then disappeared.
"Is this a UFO, or some strange bright ball of energy. It definitely wasn't a drone or aircraft," the spokesperson said.
"Garry isn't sure what the ball of light was, but it's like nothing Garry has ever seen before. It was bright and strange enough for him to want to pull his truck over and attempt to capture the moment on his mobile phone."
Several commenters on the Facebook post reported seeing the light several times in the past.
Daleks, Klingons, Wookiees and Predators have been contacted to see whether they were conducting any flybys on October 26.
What do you think? Was it an alien? Let us know in the comments below.
The 'UFO' circled as it appeared to fall to Earth over Toowoomba.
A U.S.-Japanese interceptor successfully shot down a test ballistic missile over Hawaii. It was the second-ever success for the joint missile defense program, and a stunning technological accomplishment. Also, the whole thing was captured on video.
The interceptor, called the Standard Missile-3 Block IIA, destroys targets with sheer force, rather than an explosive warhead, and according to its manufacturerRaytheon, the interceptor's "kill vehicle" (a projectile) rams into a ballistic missile with the force of a 10-ton truck traveling 600 mph (965 km/h).
But does any of this make the U.S. (or Japan) any safer? Are American cities less likely to be struck by nuclear missiles now? [The 22 Weirdest Military Weapons]
That's a much tougher question to answer.
This second-ever success for the SM-3 missile interceptor follows two public (and embarrassing) failures for the program, during which the interceptors failed to hit their targets. As Defense News reported, the first test in February 2017 was successful, but a second test in June 2017 failed after a sailor "accidentally triggered the missile’s self-destruct feature." A third test, in January, failed to hit the target.
As Jefferey Lewis, a nuclear expert and Director of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, has noted several times on his podcast, this track record isn't particularly inspiring for a program tasked with protecting cities from nuclear fireballs.
The task of hitting a nuclear missile that's shooting through space with an interceptor is incredibly difficult. The missile itself moves at blistering speeds and is relatively tiny in the vastness of space. The SM-3 must move even faster, and travel at a near-perfect trajectory, to smash into its target. It's often compared to shooting a bullet with a bullet. The interceptor, theoretically capable of being launched from sea or land, uses radar data transmitted to it from land to home in on its target.
Lewis has noted previously that even the low success rate of defense systems like the SM-3 makes them look more capable than they may really be. In the real world, a nuclear attack probably wouldn't involve just one missile. It probably wouldn't occur in the ideal weather conditions during which these tests are scheduled. And it might come from an unexpected location or travel along an unexpected trajectory. It's unclear how an interceptor that has a 50-percent or so success rate during tests would perform in that sort of real-world scenario.
Folks involved with the SM-3 program have a more optimistic take on the tests. Missile Defense Agency Director Lt. Gen. Sam Greaves told reporters in March that even failures represent learning opportunities for the program, and that it will ultimately make the U.S. safer. The goal is to eventually station SM-3s in Poland, Romania and Japan. A May 2018 report from the Government Accountability Office put the interceptor's price tag at $39 million.
Meanwhile, as Live Science has reported previously, some experts believe that efforts to expand U.S. missile defenses have triggered Russian investment into bizarre new forms of nuclear weapons designed to avoid such defenses.

Is dit een buitenaards schip? Ruimtedeskundigen breken hun hoofd over mysterieus object in ons zonnestelsel
