Cygnus cargo spaceship bolted to International Space Station
The Cygnus space freighter is seen carrying about 7,600 pounds of cargo during it's approach to the International Space Station on Friday morning.

April 19 (UPI) -- The Cygnus cargo spacecraft was bolted into place on the International Space Station early Friday morning, bringing 7,600 pounds of research and supplies to the station.
The cargo vessel was attached to the Unity module on ISS at 7:31 a.m. EDT, where it will remain until July 23, while flying about 225 miles above the Indian Ocean.
NASA astronaut Anne McClain received the Cygnus cargo spacecraft at 5:28 a.m. EDT with the International Space Station's robotic arm while the ISS was over France.
NASA TV provided live coverage of the event beginning at 4 a.m.
McClain was assisted by astronaut David Saint-Jacques of the Canadian Space Agency.
Space station crew members will begin unloading the cargo later today. Included in the cargo ship are several scientific experiments.
The Advanced Colloids Experiment-Temperature-10 will study the behavior of gels in microgravity. The findings could help material scientists develop new kinds of useful materials. Another study will test the effects of spaceflight on the immune systems of lab mice.
The rodent immune system closely parallels the human immune system, and researchers are keen to better understand the effects of extended stays in space on human health. Another study will focus on the effects of microgravity on the human vasculature system.
"The Vascular Aging investigation uses ultrasounds, blood samples, oral glucose tolerance tests, and wearable sensors to study aging-like changes that occur in many astronauts during their stay on the space station," according to NASA.
Cygnus was launched into space from Virginia's Eastern Shore on Wednesday. The cargo ship was carried into space by Northrop Grumman's Antares rocket. The launch was Northrop Grumman's 11th commercial resupply mission for NASA.
Once Cygnus is received and installed, crew members aboard ISS will begin unloading the more than 7,600 pounds of food, supplies, equipment and science experiments.

On The Mysteries Surrounding 'Oumumua
Avi: For one, when it spun around over a period of eight hours its brightness changed by a factor of 10. And that's much more than any object born in the solar system, such as asteroids or comets, that change by at most a factor of three or so. [Another weirdness is] the mere fact that it was discovered, [which] implies that the population of such objects is much more abundant than we anticipated. Unless of course it's on a very specialized orbit such that it's not a member of a population of random objects.
Ben: So the suggestion here is that there should be a ton of these and they should be somewhat observable, unless these objects are on a very special kind of predetermined mission.
Avi: Exactly.

On Criticism Received For Suggesting 'Oumuamua Could Be Alien Probe
Avi: To me, the entire discussion about 'Oumuamua is very similar to an imaginary scene where you see a cave person being shown an iPhone. And this cave person would look at it and think that it might be a rock. And then would show it to other members of his or her tribe and the people there would still say, "No, it's probably a rock and how dare you say something else, how dare you talk about something that is different than a rock because rocks are everything that we are familiar with." And so, to me, not even putting [aliens] on the table for discussion is a crime! Because if you look at the history of science, you know, Galileo Galilei argued that the Earth moves around the sun and he was put under house arrest for that. Now, this of course didn't change the facts. It doesn't matter what is being said on Twitter, what is being said in other social media or among scientists. This thing is what it is, right? And, you know, the Earth still moves around the sun irrespective of what the church said a while ago. And the fact that Galileo suffered for it has no relevance to nature.
On Uncertainty In Scientific Research
Avi: The most common phase in doing scientific research is dealing with uncertainty because we don't have enough evidence, enough data, to figure out the truth. And most of the time we are just conjecturing, assuming things and trying to figure out what is the truth. And it's similar to the work of a detective that comes to a crime scene and tries to figure out what's going on. And many of my colleagues say, "No, we should close ourselves in a room and communicate to the public only when we know the answer." I think that's actually the wrong approach because the populist movements that you see nowadays, they regard academia as the scientific elite, for example, because we come out with our results when they are finalized. [It's] sort of like lecturing to students in a classroom. I think we would get much more credibility if we were to show the process of uncertainty and the fact that scientists do not agree with each other when the evidence is not clear.
On Why Aliens Are More Than Science Fiction
Avi: I don't see extraterrestrials as more speculative than dark matter or extra dimensions. I think it's the other way around ... And the reason is that we exist and that we know that about a quarter of all the stars in the Milky Way galaxy have conditions similar to those on Earth.
Ben: This is essentially [the argument] that it's a mathematical impossibility for intelligent life not to exist.
Avi: Yeah, I mean if you roll the dice enough times obviously you'll get similar results. I don't think that we are special. My premise is based on cosmic modesty. And I think anyone that tries to argue that we are alone in the universe is showing arrogance. And moreover, I think that if we find an indisputable signal from an advanced civilization, we would realize that we are not the smartest kid on the block. That there are things far beyond what we are able to produce out there.
Ben: And 'Oumuamua sort of came by Earth on its way out?
Avi: Very close! Within a sixth of the Earth-Sun distance, and only then we could see it. So just imagine how much traffic may exist in interstellar space that we are not aware of. And my hope is that when we are able to exit the solar system, we’ll get a message back saying, "Welcome to the Interstellar club." ... It will change our perspective on reality.
Ben: I like the idea of this as a club that we would join, sort of like leveling up
Avi: Well that’s the optimistic view. Another viewpoint is that we don't recognize the risk and it might not be a pleasant surprise.
On Why He's An Optimist
Avi: I'm an optimist because I think in the big scheme of things, nothing matters. I think the universe is so big and there are many planets like the earth — more of them in the observable volume of the universe than there are grains of sand in all beaches on Earth. And, therefore, I'm not particularly attached to myself. I'm willing to take risks in my research because I see the big picture ... Let's just figure out the truth.

On Whether We Are Living In A Computer Simulation
Avi: I don't find this idea very appealing.
Ben: Appealing or likely?
Avi: I would find it likely if we see a bug, if we see stripes in the images that indicate something to do with the software malfunctioning. Otherwise it looks like reality to me and, you know, perhaps a student that failed an exam would prefer to think otherwise.
On Whether Time Travel Is Possible
Avi: That actually is a possibility that we should consider. It leads to logical inconsistencies, for example a child can go back and kill his parents and that is impossible potentially. But perhaps when he pulls the trigger nothing fires. So it's possible that physics allows for time travel in a way that will be self-consistent, [but] we don't know for sure. There are some theorems, some conjectures, but we don't know for sure.
On Whether There Is A Multiverse
Avi: It’s a possibility but I don't like it because it leads to intellectual laziness ... If you allow everything to happen, and moreover you have no way of testing it because you can't leave the boundary of our universe, then I regard this philosophical idea without any foundation in physics.
On Whether Life On Earth Came From Somewhere Other Than Earth
Avi: That's quite possible. In fact, we know that all forms of life on Earth have the same chirality, it's all left handed, the molecules [are] arranged in some special way. And one way to do that is by bringing life from outside and planting it here. What could do that? A piece of rock that flew from Mars, for example, landed on Earth. And we know that such rocks exist that could have carried life in it. But another possibility is directed seeding of life. You can imagine another civilization sending out life in tubes or producing life on a planet by sending 3D printers. And so it's completely possible. I wouldn't say it's likely but it's possible.
On God And Intelligent Design
Avi: I don't think reality is designed very intelligently, if you look at it. There are many things that could have been done better. And, as a result, I wouldn't assign it to a divine entity of perfect qualities because there are so many things that are just done wrong.
Ben: Which you could also call bugs in the system, which could also be proof that we're all living in a computer simulation!
Avi: Well, then I don't have high respect for the architects.

Of the many and varied documents that the CIA has declassified, and which reference UFOs, one of the strangest is titled “Somaliland President Egal Speaks On Mysterious Bomb Blast.” It was placed into the public domain in 1999 and describes events which occurred three years earlier. The document was shared with the staff of a number of facilities, including the Defense Intelligence Agency and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The CIA’s interest in the story came from a Focus on Africa production. The CIA secured a transcript for interested parties in the U.S. Government: “FBIS’ [Foreign Broadcast Information Service] transcribed text there have been reports this week of mysterious explosions in the remote eastern region of the self-declared republic of Somaliland. They apparently occupied in December, but because of the remote nature of the area have been slow coming to light. The blasts have been attributed to various causes from unidentified flying objects, UFOs, to rocket tests. Well, Somaliland Leader, Mohamed Egal, has been looking into the matter. On the line to Hargesa, Timothy Ecott asked him what he thought had been going on.”
The transcript continues: “Begin recording Egal: We have these mysterious reports from our nomadic population there, and then, I sent a four-man commission, two doctors, a veteran doctor, and one minister, and they have submitted to us a report, which is very, very alarming. They said that they went there almost a fortnight after this thing has taken place and the found most of the animals in the area are still in a sort of a demented stage. They were not grazing, they were just stampeding all over the place.
“Ecott: You said the animals were demented. What about the people living there?
“Egal: Some of them, who were very close to the area, have got skin rashes, and some of them are almost shredding their outer skin. There are boils all over the place, and some of them are having stomach aches, you know, and very unusual motions – stomach motion – and a lot of symptoms have been reported. We are sending back some doctors to actually evaluate the human damage and the animal damage that has been done.
“Ecott: Did anyone get an eyewitness account of what this explosion might have been caused by?
“Egal: The people who were there, you know, the stories they tell is [sic] that they heard no noise. Apparently whatever exploded was moving at a supersonic speed, because there was no prior noise or anything like that. You know, they just heard a very, very, very loud explosion which has taken place and the light, you know, the light of the explosion in the air. The area is so big that they didn’t have the capability or the time to investigate the whole ground and try and pick up any debris that might have fallen. They haven’t been able to do that.
“Ecott: Whatever your authority is claiming that this might have been, some of the news agencies are talking about UFOs.
“Egal: No, no, no, no. We are not making any claims of that or any fantastic claims like that, you know. What we think happened is that there must have been a missile fired from somewhere, which has exploded either deliberately over our country or whether it has exploded inadvertently, we can’t tell. So, what we are asking now, people like the English, and French, and especially the Americans who monitor the world, they must know what happened, you know. They definitely know what happened. If it was Saddam Hussein who fired the missile, it would have been in the headlines all over the world. But apparently whoever fired the missile is still in the good books of those who know, and they don’t want to publicize it. But we want to know what happened to us so that at least we will know how to deal with it.
“Ecutt: Is anybody offering you help to investigate and to look after the people you say have been injured?
“Egal: Well, we have sent it…yes…to the American Embassy. You know. We have sent it to the British Embassy, we have sent it to the French Embassy, and we have sent to the BBC, and to the Reuters and people like that, you know. Nobody has yet responded, but we have made the appeal and we are still making it.”
So read the headline in Mexican newspaper El Mexicano this week as farmers in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua reported the discovery of over 70 animals brutally mutilated by an unidentified-yet-eerily-familiar creature. Has el chupacabra claimed another victim – er, 71 victims?
It’s possible. That is, if the chupacabra exists at all. Whatever killed these farm animals, it wasn’t messing around. Local farmer Don Simplicio Martínez says that on the evening of March 28, 20 adult sheep were mutilated and left bloodless without a single drop spilled on the surrounding ground, all while their killer evaded detection.
Never underestimate the goat sucker.
Weeks later, Martínez was horrified to discover that the unidentified creature seemingly returned – this time for his chickens. The beast had to climb up a six-foot-tall (~2m) chicken coop and peel back the metal wire protecting the chickens before gorging itself on the blood of 51 of the hapless little dinosaur relatives. “Either it climbed or it flew,” Martínez told authorities surveying the ruins of his coop. A night watchman posted at Martínez’ farm heard the commotion when the mystery creature was sucking the blood from the terrified chickens, but reportedly decided not to intervene with his machete once he saw how large the predator was.
Local veterinarians apparently believe that a large canine was the likely culprit in these unexplained mutilations, but Martínez isn’t convinced. “The wounds of the sheep are like triangles in the jugular but without blood, with nothing,” said Martínez . “It’s not a normal animal because I imagine it’s a huge animal to remove the blood of 20 sheep, it’s a lot of blood.”
Docile, dead-eyed sheep are common targets of mysterious blood-sucking predators.

A bizarre crater appeared on Google Earth earlier this week close to Area 51 and appears man-made with a strange tower emerging out of the huge ditch. The incredible discovery was revealed by Blake and Brett Cousins – of YouTube channel thirdphaseofmoon – who captioned the footage: “We Found Something Underneath Area 51.” In the footage, a large, thin object can be seen poking out of the middle of a large circular hole in the ground.
The shock revelaton has sparked a frenzy of theories, including that the huge tower inside the vent is the tower of a new top-secret underground military base.
Speaking about his discovery, Blake Cousins says: “Conspiracy theorists are going wild right now.
“This could be some sort of vent or a tower embedded within a crater close to Area 51. This not a natural phenomenon, it is quite a mystery.
He said: “It doesn’t relate to any of the other craters in the area – this one looks like a tower or a vent.
“It is a massive crater – the tower looks like it is dozens of feet tall.
“This crat
er doesn’t relate to any of the other craters. There is no measuring device coming out of it.
“There might be a base or something underneath. It has been dug out, carved out by humans. You hear about Area 51 as a massive city underneath the ground. This could be linked.
“It shouldn’t be there, it shouldn’t exist.
The crater is just miles from the top-secret military base Area 51, which has previously been linked to various alien experiments.

Boston Dynamics Teases Robot Dog Army Hauling Truck as Production Underway
Boston Dynamics has a motto on the front page of its website: “Changing your idea of what robots can do.” To date, that’s probably pretty accurate, depending on which movies you’re referencing. The company has previously released videos of its SpotMini canine-type robot opening doors, navigating stairs, and cleaning up a kitchen, all solo. Now, Boston Dynamics has demonstrated what the ‘Spotpower’ version of the bot can do when it comes together as a pack: march in synchronicity and tow a truck.
In a video published on the Boston Dynamics’ YouTube channel titled “Mush, Spot, Mush!”, ten bots are seen pulling a cargo truck in neutral up a 1% incline. The company website lists two similar versions of the Spot robot, the Spot classic, and the SpotMini, but not the variation that’s marching. The Spotpower version in the video may be a hybrid of the two, but not much information is offered; it certainly looks a lot like the SpotMini without the helper arm. Perhaps one is only needed if tire changing is in order.
Boston Dynamics information page further states that the SpotMini is the quietest robot they’ve built, but the eerie mechanical marching sound made while the Spotpowers are in motion is still loud enough to draw significant attention (or fear). Interestingly enough, the video description also notifies viewers that the Spot robots are under production and will be available soon. Could this be an indicator that we should be on the lookout for Spot ‘user experience’ videos to come?

Both the SpotMini and the Spot classic robots are all-electric, operable for 45 and 90 minutes per charge, and weigh about 30 kg (66 lbs) and 75 kg (165 lbs), respectively. The Spot classic is listed as having a 45 kg (99 lbs) cargo capacity, and the Spot Mini is listed at 14 kg (30 lbs) payload capacity. However, after this promotional piece, it seems that the stats need to be updated to include towing capacity.
The YouTube channel for Boston Dynamics is full of entertaining videos of Spot, SpotMini and its humanoid brethren demonstrating a dynamic range of task capability for the company’s creations. Spotpower coming to production means that sort of robotic flexibility will be ready to help with a variety of applications soon. Given what has already been shown, package deliveries, warehouse operations, and possible search and rescue missions may be what’s in store for customer use.

Discovery of the World's Deepest Cave: Is the Earth Hollow and Flat?

Discovered in 2009, the Son Doong Cave is the flat earth’s largest cave. Translated as “mountain river cave” the Son Doong Cave is 5.59 miles long, 656 feet wide and 492 feet deep. At it’s bottom, is a large lake and lush verdant jungle. Son Doong Cave is camouflaged in the forboding Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, bordering with Laos. With over 150 caves it is an area difficult to traverse. After the first expedition, the explorers were stopped in their tracks by a 200 foot wall.
Could the Son Doong Cave be a microcosmic example of the hollow earth which opens at the center of the flat earth’s North Pole?
I have previously stated the possibility of a hollow earth being incorported into the overall structure of the flat earth. But what would that look like? Perhaps very similar to the Son Doong Cave. Image a much larger opening at the North Pole. Could this be the location of a magnetically charged, massive, toroidal vortex ring generated by a closed rotating curve, which generates the tidal fluctuations accross the flat earth plane?
The North Pole is ground zero and the main portal or entrance to the inner earth, which is heated from the Sun 3500 miles above the flat earth and the Black Sun 3600 miles beneath the surface of flat earth. As above, so below.
Another lie within the Heliocentric model is the geosynchronous moon causing the tides. If that were true the moon would also stimulate tidal fluctuations to the Great Lakes. It doesn’t. Because they’re not directly connected to the flat earth oceans, the Great Lakes are unaffected by the rising and falling of the floating flat earth, which is set upon the bosom of the great deep below. The variation in tidal height is attributable to the different configuration of adjoining lands.
Could there a direct symbiotic interaction between the oceans and the possible hollow earth? Perhaps the massive, toroidal vortex ring expands below the flat earth’s surface, unveiling a tropical other world containing different species of animals and vegetation unknown to our world above.
Again, all of this is conjecture. But when these theories and beliefs are compared to the outright fictional tales of the Heliocentric theory. The path of truth and logic points to a Geocentric theory.
In the Book Of Luke it is stated that there was a great chasm set in place that divide paradise. I believe inner earh is still divided. And below this potential hollow earth is hell, 3,600 miles below the surface of the flat earth.
Hell has a body similar to that of a human postioned on its back in the center of the earth. Constructed with multiple chambers of torment. The spirit of every human attracts like-minded spirits. It’s always been a choice between the Ancient of Days and Lucifer. Death triggers the manifestation of like-minded spirits, escorting each image to their diametrically opposed final destination.
We are not spinning at 1000 mph, while cruising abound a burning sun ball at 66,600 miles per hour. And this. non-ball earth is not tilted at 23.4 degrees. Which leaves us with 66.6 degrees. 66,600 mph and 66.6 degrees. 666?…. Open your eyes to their lies.

Date of sighting:April 20, 2019, but happened March 29 Location of sighting: Earths orbit at space station I was watching the international space station spacewalk with Christina Koch and Nick Hague, when I noticed a UFO in the far right side of the screen. You can see the edge of a disk and it rises, then stops, then continues to rise again. The people at mission control didn't see to notice the craft as it passed. Mission control seemed too worried about getting some repairs finished correctly. It looks like aliens waned to take a peek at what Christina and Nick were up too. Its not often that they get to see a human female making history on a spacewalk. Date of sighting: April 2019 Location of sighting: Budapest, Hungary Hungarian amateur and photographer astronomer Ivan Eder of Budapest was observing the moon when he suddenly noticed that a huge edge of a giant planet seemed to be revealing itself. The white edge appearing in the photos seemed to be that of giant plant revealing itself for a few seconds. Ivan couldn't find any rational explanation for the sudden appearance this giant crescent shape.
There are two explanations for such an occurrence. First the planet itself may be in another time line and is revealing itself due to a disturbance in the time line...like a black hole near it or possibly the inhabitants are experimenting with time travel. In other words, this could be earth from another time line we are looking at. I believe this theory to be true. The second possibility is that this is the ancient planet Nibiru whose orbit passes Earth once every 15,000 about. I hope its not Nibiru. The planet is said to have an incredibly ancient species on it that is using Earth as a experiment for studying stages of their own past. Every few orbits, drastic changes on earth are made. Species go extinct, and new species appear. That is why there are many gaps in the record of human evolution. As every scientist knows, scientific subjects like rats, dogs, cats used for testing, once finished, must be exterminated (killed), so that the lab experiment doesn't pollute other future experiments. The modern era of UFO sightings began in 1947 when Kenneth Arnold, a businessman and pilot from Idaho, spotted what he believed was a formation of flying saucers near Mount Rainier in Washington. Encounters with unidentified flying objects have been recorded since ancient times, but Arnold’s sighting hooked the American public. It was the encounter that launched a thousand theories.
The U.S. military attempted to discredit Arnold’s claims. “The report cannot bear even superficial examination, therefore, must be disregarded,” the Air Force Materiel Command wrote in a now-declassified document.
As reported sightings increased and UFO obssession spread like wildfire, its flames fanned by the notorious Roswell incident, the military attempted to douse the issue. A series of UFO studies commissioned by the U.S. Air Force culminated in Project Blue Book, which wrapped up in 1969 and found no evidence of the presence of extra terrestrial vehicles on Earth or in the skies above.
The Air Force clearly hoped to put an end to the UFO craze—but the studies had the opposite effect. Josef Allen Hynek, who had overseen the Air Force efforts, broke with the military, claiming the importance of UFOs had been underplayed. His scientific analysis forms much of the basis of modern UFOlogy and his close encounters classification system is the benchmark in grading the credibility of UFO sightings.
Experts warn that mundane explanations often exist for UFO sightings.

In devising our own credibility rating system for UFO sightings, Newsweek built upon Hynek’s foundations. The astronomer and preeminent UFOlogist valued sightings that involved multiple or highly credible witnesses. We have also incorporated advances in technology into our scale. The advent of cameras and infrared devices on aircraft have presented new kinds of evidence for sightings.
The credibility scale works on a point-based system. One point is given for sightings with multiple witnesses, another for an expert witness (a pilot, air traffic controller, military or government official). One point is awarded for picture evidence and an additional point for film of a moving UFO. Unidentified flying objects can often be explained away as foreign aircraft, so an additional point is given for UFOs seen to be flying in a manner inconsistent with flight as humans know it.
Hynek also prized close encounters. Close encounters of the first kind—sightings of an object less than 500 feet away—are given one point. Close encounters of the second kind, a UFO event where a physical effect is felt (a car light breaks, extreme heat is felt, scorch marks on the ground), are given two points. Finally, close encounters of the third kind, instances where an animated pilot is seen, earn three points.
A system for removing points has also been incorporated to account for cases where military or government bodies have discredited the sightings. Three points are removed in these cases, as the baseline for credibility in the scale begins at three.

The list of sightings analyzed with the scale has been compiled with input from the Scientific Coalition for UFOlogy. The coalition, which was started in 2017, is composed of 45 UFOlogists. Most of them either have backgrounds in science, the military or law enforcement. The body’s members have 11 Ph.D.s between them; one member is from NASA and another is from the European Space Agency.
Some 6,000 UFO encounters are reported every year, says Robert Powell, an SCU board member. “Ninety-eight percent or more of sightings are basically misidentifications and they are airplanes or Chinese lanterns or a variety of different things,” Powell told Newsweek. “What's left is cases where there is a lot of good information and you have some possibility of trying to discuss it in detail.
“In order to be on here someone needed to do work to investigate the case. If no report or investigation was done then it is hard to put a lot of stock in a case,” he added.
Experts warn that mundane explanations often exist for UFO sightings. Because encounters are unexplained does not mean that the event has extraterrestrial origins. “The overwhelming majority (typically more than 90 percent of these ‘sightings’) can be explained as due to prosaic, terrestrial phenomena,” Seth Shostak, Senior astronomer and institute Fellow at the SETI Institute told Newsweek via email. “Could the rest be alien craft? Maybe, but that’s like saying that the 40 percent of homicides committed in New York City that are unsolved could be due to alien murderers. Possible, but not likely.”
1. Roswell Incident

Hundreds of witnesses have come forward claiming to have some connection with the Roswell UFO sighting. Books published from 1980 onwards have claimed an alien craft crash landed near a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico, with one or more dead extraterrestrial beings inside. The truth appears to be far more mundane. In 1997, the Air Force released a report on the 50th anniversary of the incident entitled: “Case Closed: Final Report on the Roswell Crash.” An article in The New York Times from the time read: “No bodies. No bulbous heads. No secret autopsies. No spaceship. No crash. No extraterrestrials or alien artifacts of any sort. And most emphatically of all, no government cover-up.”

Pilot Kenneth Arnold’s sighting of nine “circular-type” objects flying in formation at a speed judged to be more than twice the speed of sound gave birth to the modern notion of flying saucers. Reports from the Idaho pilot that he witnessed the strange craft while flying north of Mount Rainier were dismissed out of hand by an Air Force investigation. Until his death in 1984 Arnold maintained he had seen the UFOs. He told the Seattle Times in 1977: “I made my report because I thought it was my duty. It was the only proper and American thing to do. I saw what I saw.”

Location: Levelland, Texas - November 1957
Multiple witnesses reported seeing an egg-shaped object or a large flash of light moving across the sky in the small town of Levelland, Texas. One witness told police the passing object had interfered with the electronics in his car. The Associated Press reported at the time that a “mystery object” had flown around with a “great sound and rush of wind.” The sighting was later discredited by the Air Force’s Project Blue Book, which claimed the phenomenon had been caused by severe electrical storms and ball lightning.

4. Stephenville, Texas, UFO Sightings
Location: Stephenville, Texas - January 2008
Multiple witnesses in Stephenville, Texas, reported seeing inexplicable objects moving through the sky or bright lights. The episode created confusion when the nearby Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base mistakenly said its planes had not been active on the nights in question. It later emerged that military aircraft had been training in the area, CNN reported.

To test the efficacy of our rating system we applied it to a sighting by UFOlogist Scott C. Waring, who claims to have spotted a UFO on Mars. His sighting was publicized in Britain’s Daily Expressnewspaper. Waring’s sighting is reliant on images beamed back from NASA’s Curiosity Rover. There have been no human witnesses to the case, expert or otherwise, and the UFO is not shown moving. Even if we generously say that the picture is of an extraterrestrial craft, which is up for debate, this contemporary sighting does not score particularly high.

On two separate occasions Air Force F-94s were scrambled over Washington after UFOs were sighted on radar at Andrews and Bolling Air Force bases. The reports of UFOs disappearing or outrunning the Air Force jets cemented the flying saucer craze in the popular imagination. The unusual blips, seen by multiple air traffic controllers, cruised at between 100 to 130 mph before zooming off at incredible speed. At the time The Washington Post ran the banner headline: "'Saucer' Outran Jet, Pilot Reveals."

7. Valensole UFO Sighting

Dubbed France’s Roswell by regional Le Dauphine newspaper, this sighting by Maurice Masse constitutes a close encounter of the third kind. Masse claimed he saw two humanoid aliens land a spherical UFO in a field. They then exited the craft. The French farmer said he was left paralyzed when one of the beings pointed a cylindrical instrument at him. The pair then flew away after briefly inspecting the surroundings. This incident rates so highly because close encounters where witnesses spotted physical beings were considered the most important by Hynek.

8. Delphos Ring Incident
Location: Delphos, Kansas - November 1971
Sixteen-year-old Ronald Johnson claimed to have seen a glowing object hovering over a specific area close to his family farm in the early evening. When he went to fetch other witnesses the object had vanished. However, an eerie glowing ring was found where the UFO had been. Another witness corroborated to police the sighting of the strange flying object. In 2017, Britain's Daily Express newspaper reported a U.K.-based scientist had analysed soil preserved from the site of the sighting, finding it to contain a potentially chemiluminescent organic compound.

9. Loring Air Force Base Sighting
Location:Loring Air Force Base, Maine - October 1975
On two successive nights servicemembers reported seeing a UFO hovering over Loring Air Force Base. An object described as a cigar-shaped craft was reportedly seen on radar. The CIA has released documents that show a 1975 watch log describing “unidentified helicopter(s) flying out of Canada.”

10. Sheriff's Deputy Val Johnson Incident
Location:Marshall County, Minnesota- August 1979
In the early hours of the morning on September 11, 1979, Marshall County sheriff’s deputy Val Johnson encountered what he described as a white ball of light while driving on a rural section of State Highway 220. After diving towards the “bright, brilliant light,” which hovered three to four feet from the ground, Johnson woke up in a ditch half an hour later. His patrol car had suffered superficial damage and he had burns around his eyes. The now retired chief of police has kept an open mind about the experience. "I saw a ball of light," he told MPR in an interview. "I drove toward it, and suddenly it was in the car with me. It's unexplainable, and will remain so. I'm happy with my mental stability."

11. Cash-Landrum Sighting
Location: Dayton, Texas - December 1980
Named for three individuals involved in the sighting, Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Colby Landrum—who claimed they were followed by hovering disc with a single fiery thruster as they drove home through dense woods in eastern Texas. When the trio abandoned their car they felt intense heat generated by the UFO. All three claimed to suffer health problems in the aftermath of the encounter.

12.Trans-en-Provence Case
Location: Trans-en-Provence,Var, France - January 1981
In the early evening at his farm in the southern Var region of France, Renato Nicolaï, a 55-year-old farmer, observed a saucer-shaped UFO land on his property at a distance of about 50 yards. The lead-colored vessel then lifted off from the ground and flew towards a nearby treeline. The case is considered remarkable because of scorch marks left by the machine, documented and extensively analysed by French authorities. No definitive explanation for the incident has ever been given, and 31 years later retired French police confirmed to the Var-Martin that they believed the case remained of the utmost importance.
