Here in this video we have compared Webb's image with an similar image of Hubble telescope.
Images captured by Webb telescope shows most distant stars and galaxies in the large Magellanic Cloud. In the image below we can see a ring shaped object in the stars forming region of large Magellanic Cloud.
Previously one such object was seen by the Hubble Telescope and when zooming into a rich star-birth region of the large Magellanic Cloud, we can see in the image below a similar ring shaped object which is the remnant of a supernova named Supernova 1987A captured by Hubble.
May be the ring shaped object seen in the Webb's image would be something else.

On Tuesday, the Congress from the US had its first open meeting regarding UFOs after about 50 years, but those who were looking for answers to the frequent sightings from the military of strange objects were disappointed because the defense officials opted to reserve their most juicy material for closed-door sessions.
The leak of 2 new recordings depicting unusual aircraft phenomena was the highlight of the 90-minute briefing in Washington, though one of those recordings was quickly discredited by, the deputy director of navy intelligence, Scott Bray.
The meeting (the previous similar meeting was held back in 1966) comes on the heels of a banner time for UFO believers. The US intelligence issued a seminal study in 2021, that discovered 144 instances of unusual airborne phenomena, just one of those can be clarified.
The story came after US naval pilots openly discussed the encounters, they had with UAPs when one lieutenant, who was now retired, was claiming to have seen unidentified objects every single day for a couple of years above the east coast’s sky.
Bray attempted to explain the government’s probe of UAPs on that Tuesday, following criticism that the Pentagon isn’t treating the matter with enough seriousness, but he also provided the members of an intelligence subcommittee videos of aerial objects.
On one of those videos, shot during the day, there was an object flying by a military plane. The object’s brief presence — it flashed on the screen for a split of a second – confirmed the difficulties in obtaining information on some UAPs, according to Bray.
Another video shot at night from a military jet in 2019, shows triangular forms hovering in the sky. Bray then showed another video displaying the same phenomenon, but with a more conventional explanation that those objects were actually drones, with a triangular shape and otherworldly in motion due to a flaw in the way video was acquired using equipment for night-vision.
The refutation did nothing to dispel claims – including one imposed by committee head Andre Carson – that the Pentagon is uninterested in examining the unexplainable.
Carson, a Democrat from Indiana said that one of Congress’s worries is that the administration, the executive branch, and the two parties have swept fears about UAPs under the brush by concentrating on occurrences that can be clarified and disregarding those that cannot.
He asked Congress what will they say to reassure the US people that they are not just focused on matters that are not complicated and have simple explanations. Although the Pentagon has created a UAP unit – the bureaucratically named Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group – explore in this sector is yet far from a high priority.
Bray said that the intelligence community simply had to be less open with information at times, and added that they don’t want probable enemies to know precisely what they are able to observe or comprehend or how we get to that conclusion.
The response displayed an arrogance that has irritated for long time those wanting greater transparency – and has sparked a slew of conspiracy theories concerning what the administration may be covering.
Once asked if the Pentagon had any underwater sensors to spot on submerged UAPs – whatever that is in the seas or the oceans, Bray and Ronald Moultrie, the military undersecretary for intelligence and security, showed that resistance to sharing mentioned above.
Moultrie believes it would be better handled in a secret session.

Although new info remained annoyingly rare, Bray disclosed that the intelligence community has noticed an increase in the number of unregistered and/or unidentifiable aircraft or objects, which he attributes to the de-stigmatization of military encounter reporting and the usage of new systems for detection.
The assessment from 2021 recognized observations of UAPs that seemed to remain motionless in winds above, move counter to the wind, do sudden maneuvers, or travel at high speed, without obvious methods of propulsion, and Bray ruled out a foreign enemy with such technology on that same Tuesday.
Several politicians have publicly voiced displeasure with the novel UAP office’s progress – which has yet to name a director just under a month after its formation — with Kirsten Gillibrand’s assistance. The US senator in NY, told Politico back in May that senator Gillibrand trusts that the department of defense must take this subject a lot more seriousness and get it moving.
The discontent contrasts sharply with the euphoria that greeted the government’s report in 2021. At the period, amateur UAP associations thought that the Pentagon may be more willing to provide its own information and more eager to evaluate amateur investigators’ films and photographs.
However, Moultrie had made it obvious that this would not be the case after he stated that certain people are putting out material that may be regarded as rather egotistic.
As the session came to a conclusion, Carson told his Republican and Democratic colleagues that the issue of UAPs and UFOs is an occasion when they can display some level of cooperation.
For the audience, it was evident that the meeting had created more queries and fury rather than answers. Humans are still far from discovering whether extraterrestrial life exists.
“The hearing was essentially a pleasant chat about how awesome AIMSOG will be one day,” tweeted Alejandro Rojas, a researcher at Enigma Labs, an analytics and community platform for UFOs, and a board member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies. The public got some answers, but Rojas is not as confident in AIMSOG now as he was before that meeting happened.

A TikToker who claims to have 'leaked' information from a self-proclaimed time traveller has issued a chilling warning for apocalyptic events that are set to begin this summer.
Kawhi Leonard, also known as 'thehiddengod1', claims in his video taht the ground across the US will split just months before a deadly new species are discovered and millions of people are declared missing.
The terrifying prophecies are said to take place on specific dates between July and October, which TikTok users have been urged to remember.
The clip, which has received over 450,000 likes said: "WARNING: A leaked document from a time traveller has warned us to remember these dates for 2022.
"July 14th 2022 - 'The great split' America's biggest earthquake.
"August 9th 2022 - Over 2 million people around the world mysteriously disappear.
"October 3rd 2022 - Creatures known as stalkers will appear around the globe."
It is unclear whether the spine-chilling warnings are linked but some of Leonard's fans wasted no time, leaving prayers of hope for the future of humanity in the comments.
One wrote: "Only Allah knows what will happen please protect us."
Another commented: "The comment section is now a church."
"God will make sure we're safe," a third replied.

However, other TikTok users didn't seem convinced as they claimed the user had been watching Marvel's Infinity War too much and others said they would only believe it if it was seen on an episode of The Simpsons.
One user said: "Me not believing it. *Writes it down just in case*."
Another wrote: "Bro after watching infinity war."
A third added: "The Simpsons will tell us."
The news comes after another so-called time traveller "from the year 2236" told their followers a dead celebrity who "faked his death" is going to return in September 2022.

In the clip, watched more than 14 million times since it was uploaded on March 10, the person claims they are going to "prove" their powers with another prediction.
They write: "Some people don't believe I'm a real-time traveller so here are some pretty big events that will happen in 2022."
The TikToker made several claims but added that on "September 16th a very popular musician will come out and admit he faked his own death".

A former US Navy pilot is opening up about his infamous alleged ufosighting off the coast of Californiain 2004.
Commander David Fravor said he witnessed a Tic Tac-shaped object in the sky in November 10, 2004 performing extraordinary aerial maneuvers that he said no modern human technology was capable of.
'This is not like we saw it and it was gone or I saw lights in the sky and it's gone – we watched this thing on a crystal clear day with four trained observers,' Fravor said in a sit-down interview with Russian-American YouTuber and MIT researcher Lex Fridman on September 8.
He said the phenomena committed an 'act of war' by jamming the military's radar when they tried to trace it.

Fravor and others were conducting a routine training mission when the radio operator asked them to check out a mysterious aircraft they had been tracking for two weeks.
The operator said the object would suddenly appear at 80,000 feet, hurtle toward the sea, hover at about 20,000 feet, then shoot back up into the sky.
Fravor and Commander Jim Slaight and two others were sent out in fighter jets to observe the shape.
'We see this little white Tic Tac because we’re about 20 feet above it and its going north, south, north, south, and it's abrupt,' he said.
He explained that it didn’t move like helicopters or other aircraft he was familiar with.

'By this time we’re driving around and we’re just watching this thing and I go, "hey I’m gonna check it out,"' Fravor recalled.
'It’s aware of us and it goes bloop and start coming up, so it knows that we’re there. This is like five minutes,' he added.
'I’m going to meet it and I’m probably a half mile away and it’s coming across my nose …and it just accelerates and disappears at about 12,000 feet in less than a half second and it’s gone,' Fravor said.
'I remember telling the guy in my back sat, "Dude, I dunno about you but I’m pretty weirded out,"' he said in the interview.
Fravor said he and the other jets went down towards the water to see what the object was potentially hovering around as they noticed white water when the object was over it, but it was 'clear blue' when they reached it.

After landing Fravor mentioned the UFO to colleague Chad Underwood who successfully located the unidentified object to get video on his radar. But when he attempted to trace the shape, the flying object jammed the radar.
'When he first sees [the object] he gets an energy lock on it. When he goes to lock it up, now he’s putting a bunch of energy on it. He’s telling the radar, "Stare down the line of sight, whatever is there I want you to grab it and build a trace file on it," which will tell you where it is, how fast it is and the direction that it’s going,' Fravor said.
'The radar is smart enough that when the signal comes back if it's been messed with, it will tell you - it will give you indications that it's being jammed .... It's being jammed into about every mode you can see ... You can tell it's being jammed.
'When you actively jam another platform, yes it’s technically an act of war,' he added.
When asked if he believes that Tic Tac shape could've been from another planet, Fravor said it could be possible.
'I don't like to get into little green men but I don't think we've developed it ... I think you can hide things for a while. This is a giant leap in technology,' he said.
In 2004, Navy personnel off the coast of Southern California became witnesses to an incident involving an aircraft of unknown origins operating during peacetime within U.S. airspace. The incident, which involved Carrier Strike Group 11 in service with the USS Nimitz, has since managed to play a significant role in reinvigorating the modern UFO debate.
However, the famous Nimitz incident appears not to have been the only UFO incident involving Navy personnel during the late months of 2004. New information has come to light that involves the testimony of several Navy personnel aboard the USS Ronald Reagan who similarly tell of an encounter with the uncanny that occurred the same year.
According to filmmaker Dave Beaty, who tracked down and interviewed several witnesses to the events in question, the story first surfaced in a blog post by one of the crewmembers aboard the Reagan at the time of the incident.
“I got a message from another researcher named Keith Basterfield, and he had come across this article that someone wrote. And it turned out to be one of the witnesses that has his own website, and he was writing about the USS Ronald Reagan sighting that he had.”
Beaty says the man, Karol Olesiak, now retired from the Navy, has become a poet and peace activist. However, Olesiak tells a remarkable story of seeing a strange object following the Reagan for a period of time one evening in late 2004 while sailing off the east coast of the United States.
According to Olesiak, “I saw an orange orb as big as a jet fighter keeping speed with us flawlessly as if it wasn’t moving at all.” He says he remembers the object remaining throughout the duration of his watch on the night in question, “which was four hours.”
“I wasn’t freaking out because the Officer of the Deck wasn’t freaking out,” Olesiak wrote at his blog. “Why general quarters wasn’t called I don’t know.
Olesiak also describes that “The calm on the bridge was uncanny,” and that conditions at the time of the incident seemed as if most of the Navy personnel aboard the Reagan had been aware, but essentially chose to ignore the object and simply go about their duties.
According to Olesiak and other witnesses who have since come forward, the object appeared to be a large, orange orb of light, although some descriptions describe the surface or other aspects of its appearance with minor variances.
But why come forward with such a story almost two decades after it occurred? For Olesiak, it had been because of the recent release of videos and testimony “of various UAP encounters coming out dubiously during a pandemic,” along with the fact that “my shipmates have wanted me to write about this,” but that Olesiak had worried about ridicule.
“I just didn’t see the good in making myself ridiculous,” Olesiak wrote, adding that what he and others saw “looks nothing like the things being recorded by pilots on gun cameras,” referring to three now-famous U.S. Navy videos depicting unidentified objects. One of these videos, filmed by pilot Chad Underwood and depicting the now-famous “Tic Tac” seen during the USS Nimitz incident, occurred just months before Olesiak and his shipmates had their encounter.
For Olesiak, reflecting on the strange incident after all these years raises more questions than it does answers, and even causes him to wonder about how things like this could relate to reality itself.
“Coming back to this incident 15 years later,” Olesiak wrote in his original post detailing the encounter, “I think it speaks more to the nature of reality than alien life visiting to bring us gifts.”
“Nick Bostrom’s assertion that we might be living in a simulated universe holds more credence when you experience something like this,” Olesiak adds.
Olesiak’s encounter became the focus of an investigative effort by filmmaker Dave Beaty, which he has recently brought attention to in a feature article with detailed accounts provided by several witnesses and video interviews with some of the main participants.
“The USS Ronald Reagan encounter of 2004 is both profound, and also perplexing,” Beaty says. “UAP cases are often criticized based on the lack of physical evidence, and this case is no exception.”
However, Beaty also sees the USS Ronald Reagan incident as slightly different from other high-profile military UFO encounters being discussed today.
“What sets this encounter apart, however, is the sheer number–and quality–of the witnesses. Among their qualifications, most had received training as lookouts to spot known aircraft.”
Speaking with Beaty recently, he said that the new revelations about another case which, by now, is almost two decades old, only shows how often these multiple witness encounters really take place. And in the future, he hopes more of them come to light.
“I’m really looking forward to what happens in the future with this topic,” Beaty says.

Now this is a head scratcher. This long arm like UFO was seen in the most recent Mars rover photos. I opened an email and someone had found this unique craft. At first I mistakenly thought it might be the rover drone, but on closer inspection I realized it was nothing like it. Similar long arm UFOs have been seen around the world, one was even said have been seen by Buzz Aldrin himself who said he saw a long white arm like object flying past him in space. 100% proof that UFOs are watching the Mars rover.

Hey this raw footage is mind blowing. An eyewitness on May 10th caught sight of five glowing orbs for a few minutes and sent in some footage to me today. These objects are visible for a little bit, but then fade off and disappear at different times. For a sighting like this to happen I would think a lot more videos of this would be appearing on the Internet, but this seems to be the first of them. Hopefully, more will follow. There are 1.47 million people living in the Bronx, so there has to be more footage on the way. If so, then this is 100% proof that aliens are trying to wake the world up to their existence.
Hey guys, I like to search over Mars photos and this is one of the most recent ones that came out just a few days ago. This Mars rover photo has an object which is a sculpture of a face. Archeologists in Egypt live to find a sculpture of a face, because it tells them what that person looked like, who they were, the status of the individual in the society and so much more. This face here also tells me a lot. The face is that of a reptilian. The reptilian more closely resembles the face of a frog than a lizard. Most people assume reptilian species will always be lizard-like, but this is proof that other reptilian species exist too.
I have a masters degree in counseling education, I understand that many people try to claim seeing a face is pareidolia. I have to say that the CIA has been spreading that word for decades to try to hide the truth from the public. Also the word pareidolia allows a person to feel secure, like a blanket to hold onto. This is not imagination, it is solid fact. If you can't believe your own eyes, then you can't believe yourself...due to lack of self confidence.

Naval aviator encounter with an unknown object (UAP) in a fleeting pass.
This video, captured by the pilot in the cockpit of a Navy fighter jet, demonstrates the typical speed at which military aircraft may approach an unknown object.

Now I use to work on B1 Lancer Bombers, B-1 and KC-135s back in the Air Force, I know I've been out of the military for 25 years, but I have never seen such a craft as this one here. This is in the same location where Dr Steven Greer saw several glowing orange UFOs over the ocean about 5 years ago. Strange also, a military plane passed incredibly close to this craft, and as it did, the UFO moved into a small cloud for cover. Absolute fantastic catch. 100% proof that aliens are over Florida.

A House subcommittee is prepping to hold its first hearing open to the public on UFOs in more than 50 years on Tuesday, with two top intelligence officials set to testify.
On Tuesday at 9 a.m. the House Intelligence Committee's Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation Subcommittee will delve into details on reports of 'unidentified aerial phenomena.' Such high-level conversations have for the past half century been reserved for closed-door meetings among high-ranking military officials.
'The American people expect and deserve their leaders in government and intelligence to seriously evaluate and respond to any potential national security risks — especially those we do not fully understand,' the panel chair, Rep. André Carson, said in a statement on Tuesday.
Ronald Moultrie, the Pentagon's top intelligence official, and Scott Bray, the deputy director of naval intelligence, will testify before the panel.
Last June, Congress requested a report on 'unidentified aerial phenomena,' another term for UFO, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) offered a preliminary assessment focusing on 144 incidents dating back to 2004. DNI was only able to explain one.
The report said data was 'largely inconclusive' but most of the incidents definitely involved 'physical objects.' Many of the sightings were reported by military pilots.
'The American people expect and deserve their leaders in government and intelligence to seriously evaluate and respond to any potential national security risks — especially those we do not fully understand,' the panel chair, Rep. André Carson, said in a statement
In 18 of the incidents, spotters 'reported unusual UAP movement patterns or flight characteristics,' including objects that seemed to be flying 'without discernible means of propulsion.'
'Some UAP appeared to remain stationary in winds aloft, move against the wind, maneuver abruptly, or move at considerable speed, without discernible means of propulsion,' the report said. 'In a small number of cases, military aircraft systems processed radio frequency energy associated with UAP sightings.'
After the woefully insufficient report, the Pentagon created a new office to study such incidents - the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG).
While such unidentified objects could be foreign military aircraft or possibly secret domestic aircraft, today's hearing suggests that the phenomena has become so big that U.S. defense officials can no longer keep it from the public.
Pentagon press secretary John Kirby, asked about the hearing last week, said: 'We are absolutely committed to being as transparent as we can with the American people and with members of Congress about our perspectives on this and what we're going to try to do to make sure we have a better process for identifying these phenomena, analyzing that information in a more proactive, coordinated way than it's been done in the past, and that we also are doing what we need to do to mitigate any safety issues as many of these phenomena have been sighted in training ranges and in training environments.'
Asked if there was any concern the UAPs could be foreign adversaries, he said: 'We don't have a view on that,' but added that the Pentagon was working to form a more organized reporting system.
'It's been sort of ad hoc in the past, in terms of a pilot here and a pilot there seeing something and the reporting procedures haven't been consistent,' he added.
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, said the purpose of the hearing was to shed light on 'one of the great mysteries of our time and to break the cycle of excessive secrecy and speculation with truth and transparency.'

Elizondo, a former UFO secret program chief in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD), has said he quit the Pentagon and helped leak the 'tic tac' videos because his military bosses refused to acknowledge his severe security concerns over these powerful 'craft' violating US airspace.
Elizondo said last June when the report detailing 144 incidents was released to Congress that it was just the tip of the iceberg, that it was important to consider all possibilities, including extraterrestrial or trans-dimensional origin.
'This is something that could involve outer space, interspace, or the space in between, and that's why we've always said keep all options on the table,' he said on Fox News last June.
'The more we learn about this remarkable universe we live in, the more we realize our current understanding of the construct of the cosmos is constantly changing and evolving with new information and new knowledge that we get,' added Elizondo.
'People jump to speculation that it's from the Pleiades or something like that, when in fact one of the hypothesis when I was in AATIP was this could be as natural to Earth as we are, but we are just at a point where technologically we aren't advanced enough we can collect information on it and begin to try to figure out what it is,' he said.
'There's been another hypothesis that these things are possibly from underwater and as outlandish as it may seem, there is some anecdotal evidence that supports all of these observations, so what we want to do is try to get as much data on the table as we can before we start eliminating,' said Elizondo.

Living in New Mexico had offered him a distinct perspective on the state.

Speaking with individuals has revealed to him that ETs have been trying to keep mankind from starting a war and to assist build peace on our planet.
Mitchell has further informed the Mirror that other soldiers had told him that extraterrestrial spacecraft had disabled nuclear missiles and took them down over the Pacific Coast.

Mitchelle developed his metaphysical and alien views while training as a pilot, although he wasn’t recognized as a weirdo or for making outlandish claims. He was among the most capable and smart pilots in the United States military. NASA would notice this potential as well, providing Mitchell with the opportunity to realize a dream he’d had since President John F. Kennedy asked the US to put a man on the moon.
Mitchell was set to launch when Kennedy revealed the Space Program’s aim of reaching the moon in 1961.
He stated that it was what he always desired. He’d been committed to this adventure, knowledge, and discovery since his childhood, and it’s what motivates him throughout life.
The United States Navy was where Mitchell spent most of his adult life. Before the Navy’s postgraduate school, he was a Naval Aviator. He went on to become a Navy research pilot before earning a Ph.D. in astronautics and aeronautics. He eventually enrolled in the US Air Force Research Pilot School to be a test pilot. He was educating astronauts in mathematics and navigation while striving to finish first in his class as a test pilot.
He became an astronaut at NASA in 1966, barely 13 years after enrolling. Mitchell was scheduled to fly on Apollo’s missions 9 and 10, as well as the ill-fated Apollo 13. But it wasn’t until Apollo 14 that Edgar Mitchell touched foot on the moon’s surface.
He finally got a chance to soak in the scenery as he returned to Earth. Seeing Earth from the outside transformed his perspective on himself and humanity. He described it as a “strong… overall impact” in an interview with VICE back in 2016.
Looking at Earth from orbit, he says, one wonders, “Who are we, how did we get here, and where are we going?” And that is an old, old question that people have been asking for a long time. His experience taught him that our science may be incorrect in resolving these concerns and that our religious cosmologies may be antiquated and erroneous. And now since we are an alien civilization, we must re-ask these questions and put forth a lot more effort to find solutions.
The former sailor who became the sixth human to set foot on the moon died at the age of 85, in 2016.

Astronomers Find a Star That Contains 65 Different Elements
Have you ever held a chunk of gold in your hand? Not a little piece of jewelry, but an ounce or more? If you have, you can almost immediately understand what drives humans to want to possess it and know where it comes from.
We know that gold comes from stars. All stars are comprised primarily of hydrogen and helium. But they contain other elements, which astrophysicists refer to as a star’s metallicity. Our Sun has a high metallicity and contains 67 different elements, including about 2.5 trillion tons of gold.
Now astronomers have found a distant star that contains 65 elements, the most ever detected in another star. Gold is among them.
There’s a fairly bright star in our neighbourhood of the Milky Way named HD 222925. It’s close to the southern sky’s Tucana (Toucan) constellation. Astronomers are calling it the “gold standard” star because it’s their best opportunity to study how stars create some of the heavy elements in the Universe. That process is called the r-process, or rapid neutron capture process.
HD 222295 is an r-process enhanced but metal-poor star. It has high metallicity, meaning it contains many elements other than hydrogen and helium, but not much of those elements by mass. It’s not the first one discovered. That distinction belongs to CS 22892–052, also known as Sneden’s star, after the scientist who first identified 53 chemical elements in it. But HD 222295 is much brighter in UV than Sneden’s star, making it much easier to observe spectroscopically. That’s how the researchers were able to identify 65 different elements.
“To the best of my knowledge, that’s a record for any object beyond our Solar System. And what makes this star so unique is that it has a very high relative proportion of the elements listed along the bottom two-thirds of the periodic table. We even detected gold,” Roederer said in a press release. “These elements were made by the rapid neutron capture process. That’s really the thing we’re trying to study: the physics in understanding how, where and when those elements were made.”

There are two types of neutron capture: the slow neutron capture process, or s-process, and the r-process. The s-process is reasonably well-understood, but scientists still have significant questions about the r-process. Astrophysicists have a good theoretical understanding of the r-process, but it wasn’t observed directly until 2019 when observers saw strontium in the wreckage of a kilonova explosion.
Rapid neutron capture allows an atomic nucleus to capture neutrons quicker than the neutrons can decay, creating heavy elements. The r-process begins with elements lighter than iron. In an environment with lots of neutrons and lots of energy, these lighter elements can capture neutrons since they’re neutral and have no charge. When an atom captures a neutron, it emits an electron, converting the neutron into another proton. That raises the atomic number, and the lighter element becomes a heavier element.
These heavier elements—including precious gold—are rarely detected in stars because the astrophysical sites that foster the r-process are rare. “You need lots of neutrons that are free and a very high energy set of conditions to liberate them and add them to the nuclei of atoms,” Roederer said. “There aren’t very many environments in which that can happen—two, maybe.”
This rarity makes the r-process challenging to study, and also what makes the heavier elements, like gold, rare. It’s what makes HD 222295 the gold standard.

Neutron star mergers and the resulting kilonova explosions are one of the environments that foster the r-process. Supernovae explosions of massive stars are the other. Nailing down the astrophysical environments that allow the r-process is critical in understanding the r-process. Now astrophysicists want to study the process in more detail.
“That’s an important step forward: recognizing where the r-process can occur. But it’s a much bigger step to say, ‘What did that event actually do? What was produced there?’” Roederer said. “That’s where our study comes in.”
HD 222295 didn’t produce the heavy elements it contains. They were produced earlier in the Universe and then spread into space by either supernovae or kilonovae. Then they were taken up in another generation of star formation, in this case by HD 222295.
“We now know the detailed element-by-element output of some r-process event that happened early in the universe,” said study co-author Anna Frebel. Frebel is a physics professor at MIT. “Any model that tries to understand what’s going on with the r-process has to be able to reproduce that,” she said.
Scientists know that the r-process is one of the main ways stars and their remnants produce heavier elements with atomic numbers greater than 30. Recent observations confirmed that the r-process occurs in neutron star mergers and the resulting kilonova explosions. But there are still some open questions that have persisted for a long time, like which elements it produces and in what abundances?

Those questions led to the creation of the R-Process Alliance, a group of scientists trying to find answers. Some of the authors of this new study are members of the Alliance. This is the second paper published by members of the Alliance that focuses on HD 222295. The researchers think that HD 222295 is one of a group of stars that formed in an environment enriched by the r-process. The star’s metallicity is higher than most known stars enriched by the r-process. That suggests that multiple supernovae enriched it. HD 222295 likely didn’t form as part of the Milky Way but was captured by our galaxy at some point in the past.
“HD 222925 exhibits no remarkable characteristics in its chemical abundance pattern, other than the overall enhancement of r-process elements,” the authors write. “Thus, it may be considered as reflecting the yields of the dominant r-process source(s) in the early universe.”
Now that astrophysicists have identified a bright star containing elements from the r-process, it can act as a proxy for what supernovae and kilonovae produce. As researchers create models of the r-process inside these events that creates the heavy elements, those models must have the same signature as HD 222295. Hence, it’s the gold standard.
Gold has always held a certain mystique for humanity. It’s unique among the elements and made regular appearances in the world’s myths. In ancient Greece, the Gods dressed in gold and golden apples conferred mortality on those who ate them if they could get past the dragon that guarded them. In Hindu mythology, gold is the source of power and can transmit divine consciousness. It’s also the soul of the world itself.

Those beliefs are wiped away now, lost to time. But the science that replaces them is even more fascinating. The ancients could never have imagined that their myths would be replaced by science and that stars could explode and create gold and other elements. They could never have envisioned gigantic mountain-top telescopes that peer vast distances into space. They could never have imagined that we could cut up a star’s light and determine that the star holds gold.
And they could never have guessed that our own Sun contains 2.5 trillion tons of gold.

Scouring Through old Hubble Images Turned up 1,000 new Asteroids
Researchers have found over 1,700 asteroid trails in archived Hubble data from the last 20 years. While many of the asteroids are previously known, more than 1,000 are not. What good are another 1,000 asteroids? Like all asteroids, they could hold valuable clues to the Solar System’s history.
As time passes and more and more telescopes perform more and more observations, their combined archival data keeps growing. Sometimes discoveries lurk in that data that await new analytical tools or renewed efforts from scientists before they’re revealed. That’s what happened in an effort called the Hubble Asteroid Hunter.
In 2019 a group of astronomers launched the Hubble Asteroid Hunter. It’s a citizen science project on the Zooniverse platform. Their goal was to comb through Hubble data to find new asteroids.

“One astronomer’s trash can be another astronomer’s treasure,” Kruk said in a press release. The data they searched for was largely discarded from other observational efforts not focused on asteroids. In many cases, the data would have appeared as “noise” and was removed to make different elements stand out. But all of this secondary, unexamined data is still archived and available. “The amount of data in astronomy archives increases exponentially, and we wanted to make use of this amazing data,” said Kruk.
The project examined more than 37,000 composite Hubble images. They were taken between 30 April 2002 and 14 March 2021 with the Advanced Camera for Surveys and the Wide Field Camera 3 onboard the Hubble Space Telescope. Most images are 30-minute long exposures, so asteroid trails appear as curved streaks.

The streaks go to the heart of the problem: computers struggle to detect them. That’s where the Zooniverse platform and citizen scientists come in.
“Due to the orbit and motion of Hubble itself, the streaks appear curved in the images, which makes it difficult to classify asteroid trails – or rather it is difficult to tell a computer how to automatically detect them,” explained Sandor Kruk. “Therefore, we needed volunteers to do an initial classification, which we then used to train a machine-learning algorithm.”
The volunteers delivered. 11,482 citizen scientists took part in classifying the images. The Hubble Asteroid Hunter page at Zooniverse had over 2 million clicks, and the volunteers provided 1488 positive classifications in about 1 % of the images.

The work of the citizens who took part trained a machine-learning algorithm to search the rest of the images quickly and accurately. The algorithm exists in the Google Cloud, and once it was trained, it contributed another 900 detections for a total of 2487 potential asteroid trails in the Hubble data.
Then the professional scientists played their role. Three of the paper’s authors, including lead author Sandor Kruk, went over the results. They excluded things like cosmic rays and other objects, which resulted in 1701 trails found in 1316 Hubble images. About one-third of them were known asteroids, leaving 1031 unidentified asteroid trails.

Follow-up observations will confirm how many of them are newly-discovered asteroids and determine their orbits. Some of 1031 will likely not be confirmed, but the rest will help flesh out our understanding of our Solar System’s asteroid population.
These asteroids have escaped detection because they’re fainter and likely much smaller than most asteroids detected from the ground. This paper is the first one released as part of the Hubble Asteroid Hunter project. In subsequent papers, the authors will use the curved shape of the asteroid trails to determine their orbits and their distances.

All asteroids are remnants from the Solar System’s early days, mostly from before the planets formed. They’re like nature’s time capsules, and they preserve the conditions in the early system. That’s why astronomers are so interested in them and why we’ve sent spacecraft to collect samples from asteroids like Bennu and Ryugu.
“The asteroids are remnants from the formation of our Solar System, which means that we can learn more about the conditions when our planets were born,” Kruk explained.

More and more researchers are making use of archival data like this. It’s economical to scour existing images for new discoveries, and it bears fruit. “The use of archival data produced by imaging campaigns whose primary science goals lie outside the Solar System is common practice in asteroid science. Several groups have used various image archives to find and characterize SSOs.” For example, in 2019, researchers used archival images from exoplanet surveys to identify over 1800 asteroids, with 182 potential new discoveries.
Astronomers want a complete understanding of the Solar System’s asteroid population because it helps clarify the Solar System’s history. “A detailed description of the small bodies in the Solar System puts constraints on the different Solar System formation scenarios, which make concrete predictions on the size and orbit distribution of objects as a function of time,” the authors explain. “In particular, both the giant planets’ migrations and collisional cascades have effects on the asteroids’ size and orbital distributions that could be detectable with specially purposed observational surveys.”
But specially purposed surveys are expensive and time-consuming. Observing proposals also face stiff competition from other researchers with other foci. “We instead decided to produce such a survey from a large archival dataset,” the authors write.
Kruk hinted at things in the data other than asteroids. “But there were other serendipitous finds in the archival images as well, which we are currently following up.” He also said that their approach is a game-changer, and they intend to use it again. “Using such a combination of human and artificial intelligence to scour vast amounts of data is a big game-changer, and we will also use these techniques for other upcoming surveys, such as with the Euclid telescope.”
As far as the “… other serendipitous finds…” in the images, Kruk declined to share what those other finds might be. He told Universe Today that the findings are “… not related to unusual asteroids but to other findings in the data. We will report them in follow-up publications and announcements soon, so stay tuned!”

For seventy years, Albuquerque-based Sandia National Laboratories has been developing electrical microgrids that increase community resilience and ensure energy security. Applications include the Smart Power Infrastructure Demonstration for Energy Reliability and Security(SPIDERS), designed to support military bases abroad, and independent power systems for hospitals and regions where electrical grids are at risk of being compromised by natural disasters (like hurricanes, flooding, and earthquakes).
In the coming years, Artemis Program, NASA will be sending astronauts back to the Moon for the first time since the Apollo Era and establish a “sustained program of lunar exploration.” To ensure that astronauts have the necessary power to maintain their habitats and support operations on the surface, NASA has partnered with Sandia to develop microgrids for the Moon! This technology could also support future endeavors, like mining, fuel processing, and other activities on the Moon.
One of the main objectives of the Artemis Program is the creation of lunar infrastructure that will allow for long-duration surface operations and eventual missions to Mars. To ensure that rotating crews can explore and conduct science experiments on the surface, NASA will establish the Lunar Gateway (by 2024) and the Artemis Base Camp before this decade is over. This concept will serve as a technology demonstration that will validate design elements and systems for an eventual Martian habitat, allowing for short stays with the eventual goal of staying up to two months.

The Base Camp concept consists of a habitation unit capable of accomodating up to four astronauts as well as a mining and processing facility that will use local resources (lunar regolith and water ice) to fashion rocket fuel, water, oxygen gas, and building materials – a process known as in-situ resource utilization (ISRU). This will extend the duration and range of surface exploration while reducing dependence on resupply missions from Earth. This facility and its microgrid will be located far from the base camp to avoid disrupting other science and technology activities.
But to ensure resiliency and robustness, the electrical grids for both units will be connected during emergencies. While NASA is designing the electrical system controller for the habitation unit, which will be very similar to the International Space Station’s (ISS) direct-current (DC) system, Sandia’s engineers are developing the system that will connect the two microgrids and studying the power flow and operation between them. Said Jack Flicker, a Sandia electrical engineer, in a Sandia LabNews statement:
“There are some very important differences between something like an ISS-type microgrid to something that has the extent of a moon base. One of those differences is the geographic size, which can be problematic, especially when running at low DC voltages.
“Another is that when you start to extend these systems, there will be a lot more power electronics as well as a lot more distributed energy resources that will exist throughout the base. Sandia has been looking at microgrids with a lot of distributed energy resources for quite a long time.”
Microgrids are part of a larger field of technology that includes distributed energy resources (smaller sources of electricity like solar panels and wind turbines) and power electronics – devices that keep electrical systems operating within specifications (like converters). Since 2021, electrical engineer Lee Rashkin and control engineer Dave Wilson have been designing the software to regulate the electrical system controller for the mining and processing center’s microgrid.

This controller needs to maintain an even voltage over different timescales ranging from milliseconds and minutes to entire lunar nights (28 days). In many respects, said Dave, this controller is similar to a vehicle’s cruise control system in that it maintains an even level of voltage on the grid amid changing external situations:
“Our goal is to come up with a lunar energy power management system that can efficiently maintain a level system on all those timescales. We’ve got a specializedSecure Scalable Microgrid [SSM] facility and control-system-design methodology that analyzes this. The facility also has specialized energy storage emulators that can help us determine the specifications for how much energy storage the base needs and their requirements.”
The SSM testbed is a unique Sandia research facility with a scaled and simplified version of the DC lunar microgrid. The testbed consists of three interconnected DC microgrids with custom-built electronics that can mimic different power-production systems and devices (like diesel generators, photovoltaic arrays, energy storage emulators, and power converters). A computer can control each emulator, and the microgrids can be configured to test various scenarios.
This platform provides an excellent means for conducting experiments with slightly-adjusted control software to compare how the system responds. The team will use the SSM to fine-tune their control system and study questions about power system controllers, including the interactions between distributed energy resources, energy storage, and power electronics. Said Wilson:
“The goal here is top-down engineering: We’re trying to determine the control design first, come up with the specifications for the energy storage, and then NASA could use those specifications to get the flight-ready components that meet those specs,” Dave said. “A lot of the time people will do the reverse; they’ll bring you a battery and say, ‘make it work,’ which may degrade the microgrid performance.”

The Sandia researchers’ second focus is to develop the system that will connect the mining facility and habitation module microgrids to ensure resiliency in emergencies. One way to do this is to develop a system that can reroute power to where it’s needed with flexibility. Another is to scale up the system, so there’s enough power if multiple parts fail. Said Jack:
“Usually, we have some combination of those two, where it’s oversized to some extent, but you are also able to flexibly route power how you need to within a microgrid or between independent, yet cooperative microgrids like we’re exploring for the moon. In a contingency event such as an energy storage system failing during an eclipse, we want to be able to port the power at the mining facility over to the base camp to keep astronauts safe.”
Additional considerations include the impact the distance between the microgrids will have on the efficiency and stability of both. The team is also investigating the optimal voltage the connection should operate at and whether NASA should stick with a DC system or develop something that uses alternating current (AC) for the mining unit, then switches DC once it reaches the habitation unit. To explore these questions and investigate contingency scenarios, the Sandia team is using two research facilities.
The first is Sandia’s Distributed Energy Technologies Laboratory (DETL), a multipurpose research facility designed to integrate new energy technologies with new and existing electrical infrastructure. This lab is equipped with the tools to conduct hardware-in-the-loop experiments, where hardware is subjected to various simulated scenarios, including catastrophic blackouts and weather conditions. These experiments, said Sandia engineer Rachid Darbali-Zamora, are a crucial step between lab simulation and actual field tests:
“With this DC power-hardware-in-the-loop setup that we’re building in the lab, we can test power converters, the impedance of electrical lines between lunar facilities, we could also test actual energy generation and storage devices. Basically, we can use it to study a variety of situations so we can design a system that is self-sustaining and can continue operating even if a solar panel array goes down.”

The team will also use the Emera DC microgrid on Kirtland Air Force Base to see how their power system operates and distributes power in low-energy contingency scenarios. In addition, the teams will be working closely together and using toolboxes from NASA and the SSM Testbed in their connection simulations – and eventually plan to test Dave’s controller in these simulations as well. As Rachid indicated, this research will also have applications here on Earth.
“Even though this work is for a microgrid on the Moon, the research is also relevant to creating resiliency for communities on Earth,” he said. “I’m originally from a small town in Puerto Rico. I hope that some of the lessons that come out of this project in terms of resilience, are lessons I can implement back home.”
This project is being funded by the DOE’s Office of Electricity as part of a DOE-NASA partnership to develop the necessary systems for future lunar missions.

This UFO has me stumped. It looks like a person in a black ironman suit or something. I have not clue what to think about this one. Its recorded in broad daylight in downtown Erie. Great catch and I really hope to get more video or photos of this object. It is interesting to think about the origins of humanity, and how it all started. Scientists believe that life has evolved in the oceans for millions of years and that humans are just the consequence of that evolution. For example, ancient astronaut concepts take a different perspective to the beginnings of humanity. They believe that in the distant past, ancient gods (Annunaki) landed on earth and created humanity. Regardless of the fact that this concept has long been disproved, various ancient texts confirm their descent from heaven.
An author named Zecharia Sitchin once claimed that ancient astronauts, an alien species, had interfered with human biology. He said that the Annunaki were extraterrestrials who came to Earth in search of wealth from Nibiru, a mythic planet beyond Neptune.
Sitchin claims that the Annunaki were able to change primordial humans’ DNA 450,000 years ago by fusing their DNA with theirs and sending them to work mining Earth’s natural resources such as gold. Nibiru, he claims, has a lengthy elliptical orbit and passes near the Earth every 3,600 years. Sitchin also said that this planet was home to highly evolved human-like beings that were taller compared to humans. They were drawn to Southeast Africa’s gold richness some 450,000 years ago.
Sitchin is the author of over 13 novels, which sold millions of copies over many countries. Sitchin’s works have been translated into over twenty-five various languages. Scientists, archaeologists, and historians dubbed him “silly” due to his opposing views on ancient history, civilization, and gods. Nonetheless, Sitchin was able to carry on his analysis.
Aside from Sitchin’s works, there is a ton of research in ancient writings from many cultures about gods that came from above. Stories about visits from the sky also occur among the Dogon, Hopi, and Anasazi peoples, among others. He said that when these intergalactic invaders arrived on our planet, they discovered primitive humanity. The Annunaki God Enki, also known as God of knowledge, interfered in these humans’ genes, genetically modifying them, and forced that primitive people to work for him as miners.
The gods’ cities were destroyed by the big flood that happened 30,000 years ago, compelling them to pass on their knowledge to humanity. The Annunaki gods, according to Sitchin, got back to their planet on a spaceship roughly 2569 years ago. El Dorado is frequently connected with gold rites done by the Muisca civilization close Lake Guatavita in Columbia. According to mythology, the Muisca tribe poured a large volume of gold into the lake. This holy spot continues to draw gold prospectors.
Researchers think that evidence of alien life visiting Earth in quest of gold can be discovered at the bottom of a lake. What did the gold serve for the extraterrestrials?
