CMS continues to amass sighting reports from around the globe. In August 2011 there were 1093 sightings reported to MUFON through CMS from the following countries;

ALL sighting reports received by CMS are already filled in by the witness, saving you and your investigators time. Each report is automatically sent to YOU, the State Director and Assistant State Director, for you to assign someone to follow-up and complete the report.

If a UFO sighting comes in over the phone, or by e-mail, and you want to enter it yourself, simply go to CMS at http://mufoncms.com (once logged in) and click on "ADD CASE" in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This gives you a blank sighting reporting form that you can fill out while the witness is on the phone. Once the report is filled out be sure to click "SAVE" and you will have easily added your NEW report to CMS.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena sightings were reported over Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

Sightings of UFOs were also reported in Belgium, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Wales and England in the United Kingdom.

The purpose of these files is to report the UFO eyewitness and photo/video evidence that occurs on a daily basis around the world and in space. These Files assume that extraterrestrial intelligent life not only exists, but my hypothesis is that the over a thousand UFOs reported each month represent technologically advanced spacecraft conducting surveillance of Earth. I personally became interested in UFOs when London Control ordered me to intercept one over England while flying for the US Air Force. Under Project Blue Book, the US Air Force investigated UFOs for more than twenty years; and we continue this research. I believe the God of the universe has spread life throughout the cosmos and UFO's are visiting us in ever-increasing numbers.

Lord Hill Norton Tireless UFO Advocate at the House of Lords.

Lord Hill Norton, Chief of Defense Staff, Ministry of Defense, Great Britain, 1973; Chairman, Military Committee of NATO, 1974-77; quoted from his foreword to "Above Top Secret" by Timothy Good, Morrow & Co's Quill Books, 1988.

" The evidence that there are objects which have been seen in our atmosphere, and even on terra firma, that cannot be accounted for either as man-made objects or as any physical force or effect known to our scientists, seems to me to be overwhelming... A very large number of sightings have been vouched for by persons whose credentials seem to me unimpeachable. It is striking that so many have been trained observers, such as police officers and airline or military pilots. Their observations have in many instances... been supported either by technical means such as radar or, even more convincingly, by... interference with electrical apparatus of one sort or another...."

Goodnight Irene

Hurricane Irene passed through New Jersey knocking down numerous limbs and thousands of sticks, but no real damage to my home despite eight inches of rain and high winds. Many states reported seeing UFOs indicating our observers had interest in the phenomena. More and stronger hurricanes are likely this year and UFO sightings are likely to continue to rise. The History and Discovery Channels and movies are creating a strong belief in the phenomena. It's time for the government to realize the people are ready to acknowledge the situation. I email these files to over 8,000 people a week. MUFON and National Reporting Center sightings have doubled in the last several years, with both having around 600 sightings a month with a total over a thousand.

Russian Supply Ship Heading for the ISS Explodes

MOSCOW -- An unmanned Russian supply ship bound for the International Space Station failed to reach its planned orbit Wednesday, and pieces of it fell in Siberia amid a thunderous explosion, officials said. A brief statement from Roscosmos, Russia's space agency , did not specify whether the Progress supply ship that was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan had been lost. But the state news agency RIA Novosti quoted Alexander Borisov, head of a the Choisky region in Russia's Altai province, as saying pieces of the craft fell in his area some 1,500 kilometers (900 miles) northeast of the launch site.

"The explosion was so strong that for 100 kilometers (60 miles) glass almost flew out of the windows," he was quoted as saying. Borisov said there were no immediate reports of casualties. The ITAR-Tass news agency quoted Choisky's Interior Ministry as saying the space ship crashed in a vast Siberian forest.

The ship was carrying more than 2.5 tons of supplies, including oxygen, food and fuel. Since the ending of the U.S. space shuttle program this summer, Russian spaceships are a main supply link to the space station.

NASA is now forced to rely on Russian spacecraft to operate the International Space Station since the shuttle program has been cancelled. A continuing problem with Russia's fleet may force NASA to abandon the station as soon as late November.

There are six astronauts now aboard the ISS with plenty of supplies at the moment. If Russian Soyuz rockets remain grounded beyond mid-November, there may be no way to launch new crews before the current residents are supposed to leave. It is possible military or civilian rockets may be able to accomplish the resupply mission. Thanks to Fox News

Orbital Tech Reveals Plans for Space Station

A Russian company has revealed plans for a space hotel designed by Orbital Technologies that will accommodate seven guests in four cabins -- and cost nearly a million per room.

Moon Dome

Scott Waring writes, "Supposedly this is where NASA found the abandoned alien base that was still in working order and then they stationed US Marines on it, or so the story goes from the info that computer hacker Gary McKinnon has stated in interviews. If this is true and this dome over the crater is the base, then these photos I am posting today may be the first ever photos of the city of Luna as its been called in the past. The dome is located at: 5 deg South, 134.1 deg East. NASA Photo Archives, Lunar surface. The NASA photo was taken back in December of 1972 and discovered the legendary glass dome over a moon crater. Hollywood Has Caught Alien Fever

In the past few months, a slew of big-budget alien movies has hit theaters, from kiddie flicks ("Mars Needs Moms") to comedies ("Paul") to high-octane action films ("Battle: Los Angeles," "Green Lantern" and the just-released "Cowboys & Aliens," among others). And many more such movies are on the way, both this year and next.

This glut of alien sci-fi films comes at a time when scientific discoveries are making the existence of life beyond Earth seem more and more plausible. And that might not be a coincidence, some experts say.

"It's a long-term interest, but the science now is making it that much more realistic," said Emory University physics professor Sidney Perkowitz, author of "Hollywood Science: Movies, Science, and the End of the World" (Columbia University Press, 2007). "I think Hollywood and science will feed into each other on this." Just 20 years ago, scientists had yet to find a single planet beyond our own solar system. Now the count of confirmed extrasolar planets tops 1300, with many more about to be added to the list.

In short, the prospect that life exists beyond Earth -- and perhaps even beyond our solar system -- is becoming more and more likely. This is big news that affects the way many people view our species and its place in the universe. And now more than ever, Hollywood may be tapping into that growing well of interest.

"My suspicion is, even if Hollywood weren't pushing it, people would be interested," Perkowitz told SPACE.com. "I think the straight science turns them on, but there's no doubt that Hollywood knows how to enhance it, and how to use it in really effective ways."

Of course, it's not as if Hollywood has just discovered that aliens can be box-office gold. Alien films have been around -- and have been raking in big bucks -- for decades. "There's money in aliens," said Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Institute in Mountain View, Calif. -- He does, however, sense an overall increase in alien movies in the last two decades. But this trend may have more to do with geopolitical developments than scientific ones, he said. "I think that they became popular after the collapse, in 1991, of the Soviet Union," Shostak told SPACE.com. "You still needed bad guys in movies, and all of a sudden your favorite bad guys -- who came from behind the Iron Curtain -- they weren't available anymore."

Aliens were a natural choice to wrest this role from the Russians. First of all, aliens won't complain about being caricatured or typecast. "There's no anti-defamation league, if you will, for the aliens," Shostak said. "And they have another advantage: They don't ask for residuals. They're cheap. You have to computer-animate them, that's true, but that's a lot cheaper than hiring a big-time Hollywood star."Thanks to space.com

UFO Sightings in the United States

Arizona Lights

Globe/Miami -- My husband and I were in our backyard spa saw two military jets with white and red lights chasing four very fast, erratic in movement white-yellow lights at 7:35 PM, on August 20, 2011. Within a five minute span we heard several passes of the familiar sound of military jets (I was born in Globe-Miami area and have lived here 47 years). We both talked how unusual it was to hear so many military jet passes. My husband was facing the EAST sky and told me to look. I saw 2 white-yellow circular lights and 2 objects (white with red lights) in the sky. The white-yellow circular lights were faster than the other 2 objects in the sky. It looked like the 2 objects were chasing the circular lights but could not keep up because the circular lights were making erratic moves and were much faster.

One of the circular lights would go right, then make an extreme northern change in direction while the other circular light would go left and disappear and then re-appear. Then a 3rd and 4th circular light would appear. Once in a while they would be headed in the same direction and then split off and circle in other directions while the 2 objects (white with red lights) would try and follow them. At one point, there were 4 white-yellow circular lights and 2 (white objects with red lights). We continued to occasionally here the military jets (white objects with red lights) over the next 10 minutes and then they disappeared. The next hour we continued to watch 1 to 4 white-yellow circular lights dancing in the sky. They made impossible erratic movements. A few times the lights would stay in one place, and then suddenly race across the sky. The lights would sometimes get larger (as big as a star) with the naked eye, and then change directions and get smaller (1/2 the size of a star). The UFO's would occasionally circle instead of making sharp turns. There was a five minute increment that we did not see UFO's, and then they appeared again for another 20 minutes. California Sightings

SAN FRANCISCO BAY -- Thos picture was taken on May 10, 2004 during a charter fishing trip. No one recalls seeing the UFOs but they appear clearly and in an extremely realistic fashion in two photos. One appearing was a tiered shaped craft with distorted "field" around it with another "ball-like" object nearby. Second photograph shows a curved like object that is clearly defined and extremely odd shaped, almost like a boomerang. Another "ball-like" object can be seen above the individuals head. GUALALA -- I was heading north on Highway 1 just after sunset in southern Mendocino County on Monday August 22, 2011 at 8:25 pm. I spotted a contrail way up above the clouds to the right of the sun over the ocean. At first, I thought it was a missile so I pulled over but lost track of the contrail. I scanned the sky again and found two contrails close together. The object rose at a steady rate up into the sky higher and higher until it vanished into the blue sky. The event lasted no more than five minutes and might be a rocket sent into space, but from where would it have been launched? Thanks to MUFON CMS

BRENTWOOD -- Riding bikes through neighborhood down Breakwater Way to Minnesota Avenue/Carmel Parkway intersection at 8:35 - 8:37 pm on August 21, 2011. In glancing up to the North/East, two unusual objects were clearly visible resting in the night sky. Each object was about a half a hand outstretched and a hand apart. The formation on the left had two large white lights - which looked almost like a car headlights to an invisible car.

The object to the right looked something like the Pleiades but upon standing stationary and staring, there were white dots of lights grouped in a boomerang shape. Both objects seemed to have a shape blending with the dark night sky to which the lights were attached. The two-light object on the left had brighter lights than the one on the right. The lights were white or whitish blue. The lights did not blink. The objects made no detectible sound. Both objects appeared to be still but upon closer observation were moving in tandem off to the north/east. While trying to follow the trajectory of the objects on bike and upon crossing the intersection, the objects were suddenly no longer visible. If the objects were aircraft they would have still been quite visible from a farther distance but it appears as though they vanished from the night sky. There was a lot of air traffic during this evening but these objects looked absolutely nothing like air traffic and appeared quite large. No air traffic appeared to be nearby these objects. Dana Ruth, age 57, Genara Krug, age 42 and myself, age 58 were out in my spa enjoying the evening at 8 PM. Genara pointed up and to the saying "Look". I initially observed three objects that were about five miles south of us traveling NNE. After several moments I shook off the amazement and called for my camera and binoculars. I am a multi-engine private pilot with thirty years of experience around most types of aircraft, military and the most qualified observer otherwise. I watched the lead object stop illuminating, while the others were lit up and stretched out in a varied line with no sound. The objects all had the same illuminated sphere shape 50 to 90 feet in diameter with a solid bar of light that resembled a flattened out letter "W". They changed color from bright orange on a couple of them to yellowish on others. During their approach the last three trailing objects swept wide to the west before turning to the east. There were no red, green, white, or strobes for navigational lighting. I took several pictures and two short videos with a Kodak digital camera but the images are poor. The objects speed was very slow and two objects hovered before continuing to the east.

I switched over to a set of Nikon Monarch 10 X 56 6 degree binoculars with lens optimum for low light conditions. I tracked the last three of the objects that stopped. I could see the bottom 4/7ths of a sphere with a slightly conical structure on top. This structure was centered on top and fell short of reaching either edge by 1/5th of the top distance of the shape. They flew east until they became obscured by my neighbor's roof line. Colorado Luminescent Metallic Orb

Colorado Springs -- Paul writes, "I read about the sighting in Mt Evans, CO on August 23^rd and I was on vacation visiting my friend on a 16 mile hike near Pikes Peak. Towards the highest point of our hike, we took a rest, and looked at a luminescent metallic orb/ellipse make hair point turns behind the clouds. What was fascinating was that everything was completely silent. I was transfixed as this thing turned and headed towards Pike's Peak. The fact that there was other activity in the state on that day is fascinating. Respectfully, Paul Gaspari, Ph.D.

Delaware Lights

BETHANY BEACH -- A little after midnight on August 12, 2011, I went out to the beach with a relative to watch the Perseid meteor shower. I looked up and saw a yellowish bright star moving silently over the ocean. A light was darting around within the same general space and then I noticed alternating red, green, and other pale colors attached to a single craft darting around like a hummingbird. My relative saw it too and spotted another one over the water, behaving almost identically.

I silently asked that, if it could hear me, to indicate so by moving up and down. It did as I asked. Then I asked for it to just move down, and it also complied. The third time I asked it to move side to side, and it started to do so before I could even finish the question in my head and my whole skull felt warm. A few minutes later I started asking, "Give me proof that you can hear me?" But it stopped responding. We stayed on the beach for about forty-five minutes, and both craft remained for the entire time.

Florida Lights

I kept seeing a star like entity in the Gulf of Mexico on August 24, 2011, which flashed in the colors of the rainbow. Thanks to MUFON CMS

SARASOTA -- On August 20, 2011 three of my friends and I went for a walk on our college campus down to the bay on the gulf coast about 10 pm, when I saw a bright light from north. I actually jokingly said, "It's a UFO. Once everybody was focusing on the object, we became confused about what it could be. It wasn't too far from us, moving very slowly, and began to make a zigzag pattern over the water, at times heading right towards us. It was definitely less than a mile away, silent flying toward us. There were no other lights on the craft other than the main brightest white one, and the object appeared to be triangular in shape. We were standing next to a copse of trees which separated the campus from a nearby neighborhood and the UFO descended just beyond the trees and landed, very slowly and silently. We didn't go into the trees to investigate because we were unsure of what the object could be. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Illinois Triangle

CHICAGO -- On August 27, 2011, I snapped a photo of the Michigan Avenue Bridge looking north. At the time I didn't notice anything but when I got home and uploaded the photos I noticed something in the sky on the photo. Not sure if it was some weird reflection from the city lights or what but I am uploading the photo with this so I will let you be the judge. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Minnesota Cylinder

Willmar -- My girlfriend and I were loading my vehicle at the Willmar Wal-Mart at 3:30 PM, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. She spotted the object first and asked me, "What is that? We observed a shiny chrome cigar shaped craft cruising slowly west in a straight line. We could see there were no wings or other structures on the craft. There were two black colored circles on the bottom middle of the craft. I was awestruck at how a craft that big with no wings could cruise that slowly. Then, as we were watching it, it just simply vanished. Thanks to MUFON CMS

New York 25 Objects

Canandaigua -- The witness spotted the first object followed by 20 to 25 objects on August 28, 2011. They were not in a distinct formation but slowed, hovered, up, and then moved along fairly quickly in a loose formation flying west. The event lasted about ten minutes. Thanks to MUFON CMS

North Dakota Civil Air Patrol Spots UFO

JAMESTOWN -- The weekly meeting of the local Civil Air Patrol squadron, ND 031, had just ended, and several cadets were being driven home in the squadron van, which was heading west on I-94 just west of Jamestown. The object was seen by 4 of the 5 Civil Air Patrol members in the van just east of exit 248, a bright glowing object with bright "vapor trail". Both the object and the trail were bright blue green in color. The object's apparent size was that of a softball, with an apparent velocity roughly equal to or slightly greater than the vehicle, which was moving at freeway speed (75 mph). The flight path was roughly 10 degrees descending, i.e., not quite horizontal, and appeared parallel with the interstate, east to west. After being observed for 20-30 seconds, the object disappeared with a flash, reportedly making a couple of "popping" sounds which were audible in the vehicle while driving.

The intensity of the light was such that the inside of the van was lit, described as similar to the light of an arc welder. This is not a first-person account; I am compiling this account from the descriptions given by the people in the van. I am the squadron commander, but was not at the meeting; my wife, the deputy commander for cadets, was driving. Based on the descriptions, I asked if this object could have been a meteor, but most felt that it looked more like a man-made object, burning with the color of magnesium on fire. We have speculated on the possibility of a satellite reentry, but the flight angle is not conducive to that conclusion. Also, the trail apparently did not contain debris as would be expected. Ohio Ball Shaped Fireball

Fremont -- My girlfriend and I were coming back to town on August 20, 2011, at 10:15 PM, and saw a ball shaped fireball moving in the sky. We pulled into a parking lot and got out and watched as it traveled away, then returned and stopped above us. My girlfriend took this picture before it disappeared shortly after. Oregon Alien Image

Tillamook -- I actually did not see this creature until later when I took the memory stick out of my camera and put it on my computer. An old school chum noticed it on the photo on my Facebook page. It looks like a gargoyle to me. It is facing a fire we had built between our families two trailers and is not the flames. This thing was right next to me, but I did not see it.

When we arrived at the Sand Lake Dunes in Tillamook there was an odd noise that startled everyone that we thought was a cat. It was the weirdest experience as all my family and friends have really been unsettled by this photo. I have photos taken in daylight with nothing there. There is also a blue orb in the photo. This evening my boyfriend did some photo shop playing with the lights of the photo and it appears to be solid as the light reflects off of it. There is some sort of insignia on the metallic part of the garment. It appears to be a genuine otherworldly creature. I thought I should share this October 2010 image. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Allentown -- Take a look at this at 27 seconds of video taken on August 24, 2011, at 4:30 PM, from the top of the local Allentown PPL building!

Response to Investigator Questions: I live in the Allentown area and someone else from my local area posted the video on facebook. it. I figured you might be able to look at it. The one thing about it that gets me is that the traffic is going so slow compared to the object crossing the screen. Thank you for your help!

Tennessee Ball of Fire and Flying Objects

Fairlight -- I would like to report a sighting on August 20, 2011, at 11:25 PM, near Hastings, in clear skies. My wife and I saw what looked like a ball of fire high in the sky which moved faster than a plane and took 30 seconds to go across the sky and out of view. We live in a rural setting with no light pollution and there was no noise. It was too big and far too fast for a Chinese lantern and it wasn't a plane. Thanks to Nick

Knoxville -- About 8:45 PM, on August 27, 2011, I was working on my deck when I saw these objects appear so I got my camera and took these pictures. The silent objects would go straight up, fly north, reverse, travel east and disappear. It could have been man- made, but who knows? What do you think? There were three and less.

Westmoreland -- On August 26, 2011, I was out side with my wife who said, "Look at that nice bright star. I told her, "That wasn't there last night. Looking at the light I noticed that it was moving up and down and grabbed the camera and took pictures. Watching it for two hours the lights suddenly went out. The next night we tried to find it but there was no light in this location. I took a picture in the same location and the object lit up and moved about 8 miles, stopped, and stayed there for about two hours and then disappeared. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Texas Disc Shaped Object

San Antonio -- I'm a police detective and have been an officer for over 17 years so I guess you could consider me a 'trained observer'. I'm also a backyard astronomer and was in the process of setting up my telescope when I happened to notice high in the east sky a disc shaped object moving very slowly north on August 27, 2011. The object brightened significantly brighter than Venus before completely disappearing. When the object dimmed with a lingering fade out, I could clearly see that it had a physical shape of a circle or edge-on disc.

The object was about the apparent size of maybe a small pea held at arm's length. A few seconds later the object repeated the brightening and fading one more time. I called my wife who is also a police detective and she came out and we both saw the object again brighten, dimmer than the first two times I saw it. The object was significantly larger than a visible satellite or even the ISS/shuttle passes. This object was large enough to actually resolve a circular edge-on disc shape and it appeared to be extremely high in altitude. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Virginia Cigar and Disks

Martinsville -- South bound in my 18 wheeler on August 18, 2011, I saw a cigar shaped craft fly over the highway just above tree tops. It was a fast flying 20 feet long and six feet tall disk or cigar. I saw it for a few seconds and quickly it was gone. It flew silently. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Roanoke -- I was stopped at a stoplight at 11PM, on August 11, 2011, when I spotted what at first seemed to be a spider web in my passenger window. All I could see were three reflections of light that were bobbing up and down seemingly connected like a spider web. I swatted at it with my hand but soon realized they were alien ships. They had a disk shape and emanated light from above and below their vessel. Three disk shaped ships were moving in formation, one was white and two were red with a strange aura around them. It was truly a spectacular sight. The whole encounter lasted no more than 30 seconds as the light turned green and the lights left. Wisconsin Bulb Shaped

Lake Superior -- I was fishing on shore behind McDonalds' on August 29, 2011, when I noticed the object over Lake Superior. It was kind of light bulb or saucer shaped, but its profile changed as it sat there and appeared to be spinning? The light bulb was flatter on one side than the other and moved up and down perpendicular to the water, not hovering like a usual saucer. It just sat there for about 18 minutes so I tried taking pictures but it was just too small to see. I looked away for a brief moment, and it was gone. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Worldwide UFO Sightings

Belgium Bright Image

Brussels -- I shot six pictures of a nice sunset with an interval of 45 seconds between pictures during my trip during August. When I looked at them a few days later, I saw this weird spot on the bottom left of one of the pictures. I don't think this is a cloud because of the orientation, shape and it is a little brighter than the rest of the clouds around. I didn't see a plane, birds or any kind of activity in the sky at the moment I was taking the pictures. This weird thing appears only on the third picture. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Canada Bright Light

Ottawa -- We were driving north on the Highway 416 towards Ottawa before the Rideau river. My husband was driving and my son was in the back seat and yelled, "Look at that light! About 500 feet up in the cloudy sky was a very bright light. I realized it was way too low to be a star or plane, and it wasn't moving. It was not on a huge pole, like a light tower. We have gone down that highway many times. Before I could even finish my thoughts, it disappeared right before our eyes. Thanks to UFOINFO.com

Japan Flashing Lights

We were at home on August 24, 2011, and the window was open and I noticed red, blue, green, and white flashing lights hovering at first and then making some small circular movements. I called my family when I first noticed it and we agree it wasn't a plane or helicopter as we see these frequently around here. We had no fear and felt the lights were interesting. It finally descended slowly in the northern direction. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Mexico Disc

Tulum -- In going through some photos of my trip to Mexico I saw a couple of strange things in a few of the pictures taken on August 8, 2011 at 12:40 PM. In picture 73, look just left of center. You will have to magnify it quite a bit. Note: Three photos were taken several minutes apart and all three show the same object. New Zealand Orb

When I first noticed it, it was a streak of light above a cloud bank. I yelled out to my partner who took photos of it as it gradually began to resemble star. We took eleven photos as the object seemed to change shape, opacity, orientation and position. In the last photos we took the object was spherical in shape and had a shadow underneath, and had a disturbance around it. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Russia UFOs in River

Viyatka River -- Mike Newark writes, "It twists and turns west of the Ural Mountains where I dowsed any number of submerged alien craft in the river there. The craft were there for up to three days and I lost count of the alien hits. It's very isolated and a wonderful place to hide where people don't often visit and easy to come and go at will for the aliens. The river is cut into the mountains having steep sides where access is not very easy. It's thought the aliens use this river as a sort of car park, to save the journey back and forth to the Mother Ship/Moon. I never saw so many alien hits in one small area as the river is two/three hundred yards wide, but I get a hit every half mile! UK Sightings

Brecons, Wales -- I attach a strange image I took in Wales from August 18 to 25, 2011. We were attending my stepson's wedding and stayed for dog sitting duty while they took a short honeymoon to the Isle of Jersey. While in Wales we took a picnic to the Brecons and spent the whole afternoon there taking photographs of the sky and caught this strange pardon the word "Thingy" in not one but several photos. This almost living "whip" like entity is in pursuit of what looks like a sky squid. I have always wondered about life forms in the upper atmosphere and after seeing this I think there could be some truth to all the theories.

Thomas Finley USAF Ret.

Warwickshire, ENGLAND -- I was sitting in my garden as usual around 10 PM, on August 23, 2011, and taking photographs of cloud formations. I saw a bright white light about 25 feet above a neighbor's house moving slowly towards my garden at 500 feet. I picked up my camera (NOKIA P100) and tried to take photos and video, but the camera isn't brilliant at night. The object slowly and silently flew above my garden rooftop and hovered so I managed to get a few stable photos.

After a while the object disappeared. I had seen a UFO in the late 70's and I have always watched the skies for others since then. The second object appeared roughly the same place as the first around 10:15 PM, on the same night, but at first this one was orange. I took two photos and a video which lasts about 70 seconds. The photos are shaky as is the video, but you can get a rough idea of what the object looks like. To me it seemed as though it was pulsating bright orange and later it seemed to flash from orange to green and orange again. Eventually it got too distant to see it any more. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Cheshire -- Traveling in daylight on A51 towards Chester on August 8, 2011, my partner noticed a very bright ball of white light hovering in the sky. The light was too bright to be a plane. The ball hovered stationary in the sky for 50 seconds and then traveled directly towards Chester at phenomenal speed being lost from sight in a second. I had seen reports the day before of sightings on M11 and I asked him to describe exactly what he saw. The description he gave exactly matched what was filmed yesterday on the M11 He had seen an identical orb.

The purpose of these files is to report the UFO eyewitness and photo/video evidence that occurs on a daily basis around the world and in space. These Files assume that extraterrestrial intelligent life not only exists, but my hypothesis is that the over a thousand UFOs reported each month represent technologically advanced spacecraft conducting surveillance of Earth. I personally became interested in UFOs when London Control ordered me to intercept one over England while flying for the US Air Force. Under Project Blue Book, the US Air Force investigated UFOs for more than twenty years; and we continue this research. I believe the God of the universe has spread life throughout the cosmos and UFO's are visiting us in ever-increasing numbers.

NASA Frets Aliens Could Attack Earth to End Global Warming

UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. -- News Core reports, " A team of American researchers have produced a range of scenarios in which aliens could attack the earth, and curiously, one revolves around climate change.

They speculate that extraterrestrial environmentalists could be so appalled by our planet-polluting ways that they view us as a threat to the intergalactic ecosystem and decide to destroy us.

The thought-provoking scenario is one of many envisaged in a joint study by Penn State and the NASA Planetary Science Division, entitled "Would Contact with Extraterrestrials Benefit or Harm Humanity? A Scenario Analysis."

It divides projected close encounters into "neutral," those that cause mankind "unintentional harm" and, more worryingly, those in which aliens do us "intentional harm."

Extraterrestrial intelligence (ETI) "could attack and kill us, enslave us, or potentially even eat us. ETI could attack us out of selfishness or out of a more altruistic desire to protect the galaxy from us. We might be a threat to the galaxy just as we are a threat to our home planet," it warns.

One such scenario is the stuff of many a Hollywood blockbuster, a "standard fight-to-win conflict: a war of the worlds." But another might resonate more with fans of Al Gore's documentary film "An Inconvenient truth."It speculates that aliens, worried we might inflict the damage done to our own planet on others, might "seek to preemptively destroy our civilization in order to protect other civilizations from us."

"Humanity may just now be entering the period in which its rapid civilizational expansion could be detected by an ETI because our expansion is changing the composition of Earth's atmosphere which therefore changes the spectral signature of Earth," the study says.

"While it is difficult to estimate the likelihood of this scenario, it should at a minimum give us pause as we evaluate our expansive tendencies."

Orbs have been captured with film and video over many regions of the US this week and reported on by local mainstream news media as "serious" news. Could it be that mainstream news media is finally getting past the "snicker factor" when it comes to UFO activity? Let's hope so.

Bud Hopkins dies at 80

I'm sad to report that Budd Hopkins, the internationally renowned abduction researcher and artist, passed away. UFOlogy lost a giant in the abduction field. He died Sunday, August 21, at 1:35 p.m. Budd died from a combination of liver cancer and pneumonia.

I had been to his home several times and he always treated me with respect and friendliness. He showed me hundreds of letters from abductees. He was an extraordinary man, who researched a difficult field. He will be greatly missed.

India's Moon Mineral Mapper

This image of the moon is from NASA's Moon Mineralogy Mapper on the Indian Space Research Organization's Chandrayaan-1 mission. It is a three-color composite of reflected near-infrared radiation from the sun, and illustrates the extent to which different materials are mapped across the side of the moon that faces Earth.

Small amounts of water and hydroxyl (blue) were detected on the surface of the moon at high latitudes toward the poles. Blue shows the signature of water and hydroxyl molecules as seen by a highly diagnostic absorption of infrared light with a wavelength of three micrometers.

Green shows the brightness of the surface as measured by reflected infrared radiation from the sun with a wavelength of 2.4 micrometers and red shows an iron-bearing mineral called pyroxene, detected by absorption of 2.0-micrometer infrared light. "Scientists claimed the moon was dry but three papers now challenge that notion: Infrared spectroscopic measurements of the lunar surface from spacecraft provide unambiguous evidence for the presence of hydroxyl (OH) or water." Mars Endeavor Crater

It took Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity three years to get there, but it recently made it to the edge of Endeavor Crater, a 14-mile wide crater that has shown evidence of holding life-sustaining water in the past.

The 13-mile journey was a painstaking process for the rover, which first landed on the Red Planet back in 2004 and has been gathering data about the makeup of the land and its topography in the time since its arrival. The decision to send the rover to Endeavor was made after the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter detected clay minerals in the vicinity of the crater — an indication that the area was once a much warmer, wetter environment that would've been more able to sustain life.

"Our arrival at this destination is a reminder that these rovers have continued far beyond the original three-month mission, said John Callas, Mars Exploration Rover project manager at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Photo of Endeavor Crater courtesy of NASA

Mars Cavern What Lies Beneath Mars

Earlier this year a crater was spotted by the HiRise camera with a dark spot at its center. When the team took a closer look with the high-resolution camera they saw that the spot is actually a 35-meter (115-foot) -wide skylight that opens into an underground cavern. The cavern is most likely a section of an empty lava tube, leftovers from ancient Martian volcanic activity.

Hacker Uncovered US Off-Planet Space Navy

Gary McKinnon, the English hacker facing 70 years in U.S. prison for searching Pentagon sites for UFO evidence, says the weirdest thing he found was a list of "Non-Terrestrial Officers" and fleet transfers between ships that don't exist in the U.S. Navy. -

In the House of Commons debates July 13, 2011 David Burrowes (Enfield, Conservative) asks, "Can I raise with the Prime Minister a different case of hacking--the computer hacker Gary McKinnon? While I recognize that the Home Secretary has a legal process to follow, does the Prime Minister share the concern for my constituent's nine-year nightmare? He feels that his life is literally hanging by a thread that is waiting to be cut by extradition.

Prime Minister David Cameron replies, "I do recognize the seriousness of this case, and the Deputy Prime Minister and I actually raised it with President Obama when he visited. I think the point is that it is not so much about the alleged offence, which everyone knows is a very serious offense, and we can understand why the Americans feel so strongly about it. The case is now in front of my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary, who has to consider reports about Gary McKinnon's health and well-being. It is right that she does that in a proper and effectively--I am sorry to use the word again today--quasi-judicial way.

Note - If Mr. McKinnon's data is correct, it validates the assumption the US Navy may well be operating off-planet via back-engineered ET technology. His data indicates the Navy and probably the Air Force operate a fleet of space craft and officers to either man them or otherwise control them. Gary McKinnon states, "I found a list of fleet-to-fleet transfers, and a list of ship names. I looked them up. They weren't U.S. Navy ships. What I saw made me believe they have some kind of spaceship, off-planet The US Navy Clementine mission project mapped the entire Moon.

In his interview with the BBC, Gary claimed, "The Disclosure Project" had some very credible people all saying there is UFO technology, there's anti-gravity, there's free energy, and it's extraterrestrial in origin and they've captured spacecraft and reverse engineered it." He said, he investigated a NASA photographic expert's claim that at the Johnson Space Center's Building 8, images were regularly cleaned of evidence of UFO craft, and confirmed this, comparing the raw originals with the "processed" images.

He claimed to have viewed a detailed image of "something not man-made and cigar shaped floating above the northern hemisphere. McKinnon stated the image was approximately 256 megabytes in size, yet that the craft's details were still distinct in 4-bit color and low resolution on his mere 56k modem connection http://www.sploid.com/news/2005/07/hacker_uncovere.php

Aviation Week's Space planes

Aviation Week and Space Technology magazine has investigated myriad sightings of a two-stage-to-orbit system that could place a small military space plane in orbit during the 1990s. After the shuttle Challenger disaster in January 1986, and a subsequent string of expendable-booster failures, the military needed a quick method to get satellites into space to keep tabs on its Cold War adversaries.

It appears the "Blackstar" system may have replaced the shelved U.S. SR-71 reconnaissance aircraft. It was composed of a large "Mothership," closely resembling the Air Force's historic XB-70 supersonic bomber (shown above) with the orbital component under its fuselage, accelerating to supersonic speeds at high altitude before dropping the space plane. The orbiter's engines fire and boost the vehicle into space.

The National Aero-Space Plane was under development during the Carter Administration that could reach orbit but was allegedly cancelled but might have been updated to replace the Shuttle. Small maneuverable space craft could be launched from a Mothership and conduct key reconnaissance.

The space plane could deliver microsatellites to low Earth orbit or, perhaps, be fitted with no-warhead hypervelocity weapons--what military visionaries have called "rods from god." Launched from the fringes of space, these high-Mach weapons could destroy deeply buried bunkers and weapons facilities.

"In 1986, Boeing filed a U.S. patent application for an advanced two-stage space transportation system. Patent No. 4,802,639, was awarded on Feb. 7, 1989, details how a small orbiter could be air-dropped from the belly of a large delta-winged carrier at Mach 3.3 and 103,800-ft. altitude. Tons of material--including long-lead structural items--for a third XB-70 Valkyrie had been stored in California warehouses years before, and a wealth of data from the X-20 DynaSoar military space plane program (shown) was readily available for application to a modern orbiter. "The DynaSoar program in November 1959 was the first effort to use a manned boost-glider to fly in near-orbital space and return. The B-70 was to carry the 10,000-lb. DynaSoar glider and a 40,000-lb. liquid rocket booster to 70,000 feet and release them while traveling at Mach 3. With this lofty start, the booster could then push the glider into its final 300-mile orbit."

On October 4, 1998, an XB-70-like carrier aircraft was spotted flying over Salt Lake City at about 2:35 PM, by James Petty, the president of JP Rocket Engine Co. He saw a small highly swept-winged vehicle nestled under the belly of the XB-70-like aircraft climbing slowly on a west-southwest heading. The sky was clear enough to see both vehicles' leading edges, which Petty described as a dark gray or black. Thanks to Aviation Week.

Blackstar Is a Secret Military Piloted Space plane

Does, or did, a secret piloted military space plane, called the Blackstar, fly into suborbital and orbital space since the early 1990s? That's the highly intriguing and provocative big question raised in an amazing cover feature article in the prestigious "Aviation Week & Space Technology."

It is quite likely the U.S. Space Command operates a military space plane for orbital missions with an elite corps of astronauts. The significant, ground-breaking investigative news report, with 18 years of Aviation Week research to back it up, strongly suggests that the "black budget project" program was developed on the "fast-track" in the 1980s after the catastrophic loss of the space shuttle Challenger in January 1986 to give the military regular operational piloted reconnaissance access into suborbital and orbital space. The orbital spacecraft, shown is an artistic rendering of a likely Blackstar follow on craft.
The space plane, first known as the XOV (experimental orbital vehicle) was apparently flight tested and likely became covertly operational in the early 1990s. This two-vehicle "Blackstar" carrier/orbiter system was allegedly cancelled in 2006, and an advanced Shuttle follow on like craft is now in orbit.

Once a Blackstar orbiter reenters the atmosphere, it can land horizontally at almost any location having a sufficiently long runway. So far, observed space plane landings have been reported at Hurlburt AFB, Fla.; Kadena AB, Okinawa; and Holloman AFB, N.M.

These craft are often reported as UFOs. Boeing Aerospace and Lockheed were the apparent contractors in 1990-91, and helped make the space plane operational under the U.S. Space Command in Colorado. A former program manager of a major aerospace company once declared, 'There is no question. Lockheed is flying a two-stage space vehicle.'" Ben Rich the director of the famous Lockheed Skunkworks, claimed we are thirty years in advance of science and can fly to the stars.

This specific stealth space program has been suspected, as noted, since 1992 when MUFON witnesses noted unusual high altitude aircraft speeding supersonically across the skies with large puffs of donut-shaped smoke over the southwestern U.S. The news media also picked up the reports and called them, "Aurora."

Black Budget $50 Billion in 2010

The Fiscal Year 2010 budget is gigantic. Spending on classified programs and activities is listed by a category such as 0207248F Special Evaluation Program. These long-running budget lines, with their ever-changing names, have disappeared. In the R-1 (research and development), P-1 (procurement) and O-1 (operations) budgets for 2010, just over $50 billion is listed for classified programs, the largest-ever sum. The Pentagon's "black" operations, including the intelligence budgets nested inside it, are roughly equal in magnitude to the entire defense budgets of the UK, France or Japan.

Highlights include the US Air Force's classified research and development budget. Earlier estimates suggested that secret projects accounted for 36 per cent of USAF Rand D spending, but the FY2010 budget shows that even this startling number is on the low side. The USAF plans to spend almost $12 billion on secret programs in 2010 - more than three Joint Strike Fighter F-35 development efforts - or just about 43 per cent of its R&D.

Black-world other procurement section just above $16 billion, that's 240 per cent more than it was ten years ago. On the operations side, secret spending has risen 8 per cent over last year, to just over $15 billion - equivalent to more than a third of Air Force operating costs. What does it all go for? If Gary McKinnon is right, US space planes are still in orbit despite the shuttle being cancelled.

New Crop circle near Stonehenge

On July 14, 2011, a new 200 foot crop circle few hundred yards from Stonehenge built in the shape of a typical disc.

Lucy Pringle reports "A crop circle near Stonehenge in 2009 was especially important for several reasons. A pilot flying a light aircraft from Exeter to Thruxton flew over the field opposite Stonehenge at on the afternoon of Sunday 7 July 2009, with a passenger taking photographs, at which time the field opposite on the A303 was unmarked. The pilot disembarked at Thruxton, completed the necessary landing and flight forms, refueled and then got back into the same plane to fly back to Exeter. Imagine his surprise on when flying over the same field opposite Stonehenge some 40 - 50 minutes later, at 6:15 PM, he observed an enormous formation measuring 915.2 X 508 feet imprinted in the wheat below.

A gamekeeper and a guard at Stonehenge both confirmed that it had not been there that morning. The formation was named the `Julia Set` as it represented a complex computer generated fractal image to the mathematicians; to musicians, a base clef, and to marine biologists the cross section of a nautilus. Palestinian Islamic Refugees Coming to the US

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza. The "presidential determination" which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States, was signed and appears in the Federal Register.

The order provides a free ticket replete with housing, transportation and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Libya Gadhafi's Compound Captured

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) - Hundreds of Libyan rebels blasted through the gates of Moammar Gadhafi's compound in Tripoli Tuesday after five hours of intense fighting around it. They killed some of those who defended it, fired celebratory shots in the air and hauled off crates of weapons and trucks with guns mounted on the back.

The storming of the sprawling compound in the capital, long the key of Gadhafi's power marked the effective collapse of his 42-year-old regime, even though pockets of resistance are likely to persist around the country for some time. Gadhafi has disappeared and is likely in hiding.

East Coast Hit by 5.8 Earthquake

An earthquake centered in Mineral, Virginia shook the whole East Coast as far west as Chicago on August 23, 2011. My house shook and I held on to the TV hoping it would not fall off the table.

Arizona Multiple Lights

Chandler -- The witness sent video footage of lights in a strange pattern that were disappearing and reappearing on August 13, 2011, from 8:30 to 8:45 PM. Ten lights were present at one point and then gradually diminished as the video progressed.

Note: It is doubtful these are Chinese Lanterns because the lights appeared to blink on and off and revealed different patterns. This is strange behavior. Also a similar sighting occurred in Aloha, Oregon at about the same time travelling south to north. The moon was visible in the footage. California Triangles

DISCOVERY BAY -- On August 20, 2011, Two sets of 3 triangle lights of a halogen blue-white color that trailed each other turning in an arcing motion then separated, one disappeared then the other disappeared. They were at about the height at which a large airplane flies. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Bear Mountain -- I saw a bright pulsating yellow/white object hovering over Bear Mountain from Palm Springs at 5:00 am on August 22, 2011.this morning. It slowly descended from the top of the mountain, and I observed it descent from 10,500 feet to about 4000 ft in less then 10 seconds. I kept wanting to rationalize this thinking that this was some sort of plane crash - but there was no explosion. I did not see anything on the news about this. Florida Light

CAPE CANAVERAL -- While waiting in line to enter the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral with my family, I decided to take photos. I saw the astronaut atop the entrance and decided that it would make a great shot at 11:30 AM, on July 2, 2011. It was several days before I downloaded the photos to my computer and saw the glowing dot. I have never seen an airplane that high glow with such brilliance. Georgia Lights in Flight

Atlanta -- Flying on the plane on August 18, 2011, I started seeing three to four red lights showing than disappearing in the clouds, yet we are 38-40 thousand feet in the air. I take out my camera and start shooting and the lights go up and down and a bunch of red lights turned white trailing the plane. Not shown in previous or later shots. I actually didn't see the big pink one, but its hovering over the plane, saw it when i looked at my pictures. My flight left from LaGuardia at 5:59 pm and flew to Atlanta, and landed at 8:07 pm. Illinois Maneuvering Orb

MARIAN -- I was on the back deck at my home with my fianc, we were just outside smoking a cigarette. I looked past the tree line and said that it looked like someone lit a balloon on fire. As it got closer I couldn't identify it so I went ahead and used my smart phone to film it. We watched it over and over until we decided to see what others thought. Surprisingly within 24 hours it had been spread all over the internet. I contacted WSIL Channel 3 that night. They called the next morning wanting to see the video, so I sent it to them. I haven't heard back from them. All the video of those Chinese lanterns that I have researched all seem to go straight up... this is steady and slow. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Massachusetts Cigar

Acton -- I was traveling west bound on Route 2 at the Acton Littleton line about 2 PM, on July 31, 2011. As I came around the curve, I saw a reflective black tube shaped object traveling east. I believe it was about 30 feet long and 6 feet in diameter and tumbling end over end. As I drove under the 250 feet high descending object I remembered I had my 35 mm Pentax k1000 with 35-80 zoom at infinity focus. The object was now at an altitude of 1200 feet traveling east. I realized the object was traveling too fast to catch up to on the highway so I continued to my destination and mailed the film for development. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Missouri Lights

On August 18, 2011, I was driving back from McDonalds on Old Highway 94 and I noticed some lights just above Walgreens. There were many other cars, but none noticed or just didn't care. They were a yellow-orange in color and they did not pulse or flash. The reason I recorded, or tried to, was because I could not see any shape and they all moved freely from each other. I followed them for a minute (approx.) and pulled over at the street near the post office. By the time I pulled over it appeared that they went straight up (not abruptly) and disappeared. I then went to the KFC parking lot and called a couple of friends and reviewed my video. It's a really bad video!

Montana Lights

Anaconda -- The witness was star gazing and noticed a very large light in the sky about the size of a pencil eraser held at arm's length on August 17, 2011, between 9:30 and 9:45 PM. The light then began to slowly move, sped up and streaked away to the northeast. Skies were clear at the time of the sighting. The witness's husband also saw the light. New Jersey Hovering Triangles

South Orange -- I saw a hovering triangle on August 20, 2011, at 1:20 AM, that appeared to be an aircraft but did not resemble a commercial airplane. It was hovering 100 feet above a house while we drove by, and emitted a beam of light from the engine and had red and blue lights on the wings. When we pulled onto a side street to photograph it, it had vanished. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Montclair -- I talked to Mike Finneran who spent a thirty-year career working for Air traffic control and 47 years as pilot in the New York area. Mike says, "My wife and I were driving home about 1:30 AM, four miles east of Montclair in the late summer of 1997, and saw a huge triangle directly above us hovering at about 3500 feet. I stopped the car and both of us got out and watched this huge craft hovering ten miles from New York City between the standard ILS approaches to Newark and Teterboro Airport. The position the craft was sitting is the only location that was safe for the heavy commercial traffic flying into these airports. We could also see three aircraft about three miles in trail of each other on final approach for Runway 22 at Newark Airport not far from the huge black triangle. The pilots must have seen this enormous triangular shaped craft pointed toward New York City. The object was completely without noise. New York Triangular Craft Spotted

Owego -- My wife and I spotted a triangle hovering over the Lockheed Martin site on Route 17c on August 2, 2011, at 9:25 PM. The whole bottom lit up as the craft hovered and then took off. Funny part is it didn't show up on cell phone camera when I tried to take a picture of it. It had three white lights with one on each corner, and a solid red light in center of bottom.

After hovering silently it moved slowly toward Hickory Park in Owego, and then took off very fast moving south with the entire bottom lit up in white light. It was flying high up, and I could see it was triangle shape due to the light pattern that gave dimension, with 500 foot between the lights. It was much closer than the 747's that fly in the area, and I could see more detail on it than the planes that fly around here. North Carolina Moving Objects

THOMASVILLE -- I have many parrots that I take outside throughout the day and so my eyes are always on the sky looking for predators in efforts to keep my parrots safe. On August 17, 2011, I saw a bright star move toward the center of the sky that blended with the stars. It gained speed and left the atmosphere; and faded off into the distance, though the distance was the center of the sky and the light got dimmer. I videoed the first sighting and the camera only recorded blackness. I called my mother to tell her, as I did I saw a second one of same height in a separate part of the sky and it did the same thing in a completely different part of the sky at different angle. I'm reporting this being that I'm thinking that UFO's are real now, after this the 3rd sighting. I do have video of the first one I saw in High Point. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Oklahoma Huge Triangle

Slaughterville -- I was driving southbound on 84th Street when I observed to the west one large white spotlight with a blue light circling it and two smaller white objects off to either side. Above the white light was a red light that pulsated. When this red light pulsated it lit up the top of the craft and I could see that it was a gun metal gray triangular shaped craft. I could tell that the white light, the blue light and the red light above were located in the center of the craft. The two smaller white lights were at the corners of the craft. I stopped a short distance down the road where there was an opening in the trees. It appeared that the craft was hovering over a farm house. Pennsylvania Flying Saucer

PITTSBURG -- I was putting my motorcycle away last night at 9:45 PM, on August 19, 2011, when I saw a bright green light overhead that was on the bottom of a disc. It 40 feet in diameter and about 500 feet up moving silently northeast against the prevailing wind. The whole incident lasted only about 20 seconds. This is not the only time that this has happened to me. I witnessed the same light several years ago with my wife in this same location. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Texas Rectangular Metallic Shape

I stepped outside of work at 2 PM, on August 17, 2011, and looked towards the horizon and saw a rectangular metallic shape rotating end over end in the eastern sky. I watched it move from the horizon line up into the sky. I went inside and called my co-workers and bosses to come see it.
When we went outside it had moved farther into the sky, but you could still make out the shape and that it was rotating. Six people, including myself, watched it move farther away towards the upper atmosphere in a northwardly direction for eight minutes. Thanks to MUFON CMS

KENT -- On August 17, 2011, on 12:34 AM, I saw a white airborne light floating around in a similar way a sperm cell does under a microscope. The pictures made it look diamond like and blue.

"I do not know what it was, but it was not a balloon. Canada Multiple Ufo's Near Mount Klista

PORT ALBERNI, ALBERTA -- I went to meet my friend at his house about noon on a Sunday, August 14, 2011 and noticed what I thought was a flock of birds over the water but realized they were too far away to be birds.

They didn't look like planes or make any sound. There were about 15 objects that were over the canal in front of the snow caps on the green mountains. Canada Highway of Tears: Vanishing Women in British Columbia

Missing and murdered along an 837-mile stretch of Highway 16 are at least eleven woman. The highway cuts through the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia through Prince George and Prince Rupert has gained infamy as the scene of possibly dozens of disappearances over the past three decades. Now known as the "Highway of Tears, this area of Canadian wilderness has raised many questions, and very few answers. The area is also known for sightings of Sasquatch and UFOs which may have some connection. More likely this is the work of murderer. [...]

UFO seen at China airport

Beijing -- Air traffic at an airport in China was restricted for an hour after a UFO was spotted over on August 18, 2011. The UFO was seen over the runway at Chongquig Municipality's Jiangbei International Airport, following which flights were disrupted .

Shanghai Daily reported air traffic was restricted for about an hour from 12:30 PM, and was lifted after UFO left. Authorities have not offered an explanation however airport officials thought it could be a sky lantern.

Northern Ireland Maneuvering Star

Last night around 12:15 AM, I was looking at the stars in my garden and I saw a star moving in the sky. I called my boyfriend and all of the sudden it speeded up and made an L shape turn without slowing down. Then it slowed down and started making a zigzag maneuver, it stopped for a couple of seconds, and then in a matter of seconds it started to grow smaller and disappeared. UK Mystery UFOs Filmed Flying over Motorway

south shields -- On about July 29, 2006, at 12:15 am, my partner and I saw a sphere shaped ufo on the sea front that was nearly translucent in the clear night sky. It looked like one of those deep smoky blue jellyfish with a white dot/ball in the middle. We decided to have a walk along the beach and watched planes coming in on their final right above us while banking left for runway lineup in Newcastle. A 737 flew over and started to bank when this sphere looked as if it had just come off the right wing. As the plane turned left the sphere carried on straight ahead out to sea slowly then picked up speed till it disappeared. My partner was crying all the way home. She never believed till then. BRIERLEY HILLS, WEST MIDLANDS -- On July 20, 2011, at 12:46 PM, my friend Scott passed on this photo to me. He was doing a BBQ with friends and there was a loud roar in the sky and instinctively people looked up. I noticed there was a plane overhead flanked by at least two strange, elongated objects. The UFOs closed in on the plane, and then retreated a couple of miles back in a matter of seconds! Scott grabbed his camera and took photos as did others! Scott is 57 years of age and this incident has swayed him to thinking there just may be something else out there. His camera is a FUJIFILM AV150 14 Mega pixel.

Essex -- A UFO has been filmed speeding across the sky over M11 motorway on July 29, 2011, close to where a BBC reporter spotted another mystery object just days later on August 20, 2011. The clear footage shows a white ball of light darting through the air over the road which is close to Stansted Airport, in Essex.

The video was posted online. UFO expert Nick Pope told the Sun: 'It's a really interesting video; it's one of the most bizarre pieces of UFO footage I've seen in a long time.'

BBC reporter Mr Sewell, 41, said, 'I was probably about 15 or 20 miles from Stansted at 4.15 in the morning and there was this big bright light in the sky descending towards the road,' 'It was not the shape of a normal aircraft it was a big disc, round-shaped craft and it didn't leave. he told Radio 5.

2 The U.S. Air Force has cancelled a course entitled “Christian Just War Theory” that was required for all nuclear missile launch officers, reported the Associated Press. The course, which has been taught for the past 20 years by military chaplains at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, is being revised following complaints by some participants that Scripture was used by teachers to show that war can be a moral endeavor, explained David Smith, a spokesman for the Air Force Air Education and Training Command. While the Air Force once felt the Bible-based training was necessary “because of the nature of the job” missile officers might be called upon to do, Smith said, it is now considered inappropriate in a society that has become increasingly pluralistic. According to CNN, the Air Force suspended the ethics class “after 31 missile launch officers reported the religious nature of the briefing to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation,” a secular watchdog group that targets faith in the armed forces. Mikey Weinstein, a spokesman for the organization, said that there were several things the missile officers “found disgusting. The first was the fact that there is actually a slide that makes it clear that they’re trying to teach that, under fundamentalist Christian doctrine, war is a good thing.” The 43-slide Power Point presentation begins by posing the question, “Can a person of faith fight in a war?” and includes photos of such American military leaders as General George Washington, Colonel Joshua Chamberlain, and General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson as affirmation that a Christian may fight. It cites such Old Testament examples as Abraham, who “organized an army to rescue Lot (Genesis 14),” and Hebrew judges Samson and Deborah, who were motivated by God “to fight and deliver Israel from foreign oppressors.” The presentation also notes New Testament references to the military, such as the apostle John’s reference to Jesus as a warrior judge (Revelation 19:11). In addition, the presentation quotes Wernher von Braun, a noted German rocket scientist during World War II, who recalled that he and his colleagues made a “moral decision” to surrender their technology to the United States after the war. “We felt that only by surrendering such a weapon to people who are guided by the Bible could such an assurance to the world be best secured,” von Braun was quoted in one slide as saying. Weinstein said his group was “literally blown away by what we saw on the slide presentation,” adding that “one of the first things I did was to contact some of the most senior leadership for the Air Force in the Pentagon and made it very clear that this has to stop immediately.” Smith said Air Force officials were not aware of the religious nature of the class until they were contacted by TruthOut.org, the online magazine that originally broke the story. “That is when we became aware of concerns about the course and our commander here reviewed the course and decided immediately that it was not appropriate for what we want to do and suspended using that briefing,” said Smith. Smith said that the Air Force is reviewing its training to determine whether or not to proceed with a similar class that does not include a religious context. “Ethics discussions are an important part of professional military development and it is especially important for our airmen who are training to work with nuclear weapons because they have to make hard decisions,” he explained. “We are looking to see if we need a briefing like this ... but it will not be a religion based briefing.” Weinstein insisted that his group’s protest wasn’t about “attacking someone’s faith. What it’s about is remembering that in this country we separate church and state. They don’t do that in other countries. We do that here.” But Matthew Staver of Liberty Council, a conservative legal advocacy group, argued that allowing chaplains “to include Christian values and themes in ethics presentations does not violate the establishment clause” — that portion of the First Amendment that foes of religious freedom have used in an effort sanitize society of faith in God. In reality, Staver said, “it’s a violation of freedom of religion when the Air Force seeks to suspend this ethics course solely because it has some Christian themes that are being taught by chaplains.” Similarly, David French of the American Center for Law and Justice said it was ludicrous to charge that the class somehow violated the First Amendment.. “Just-War theory has been a vital part of American military history for the last several hundred years,” French told FOX News, calling Weinstein’s attack “another attempt to cleanse American history of its religious realities.” He charged that the campaign was “about cleansing religion from the public square and building a completely secular society and military.” Commander Daniel McKay, a retired U.S. Navy chaplain, told Fox News that the decision by the Air Force to bow to pressure from secularists was deeply troubling. “Why is it inappropriate to give our people guidelines that have withstood the test of time — to give us moral guidance,” McKay wondered. “I think there are certain segments within our society who are making concerted efforts to take us away from our Judeo-Christian values, principles, and morals.” Jay Tower of Christian Echoes noted that the 20-year-old optional course “wasn’t controversial until a tiny minority made it so,” adding that groups such as the Military Religious Freedom Foundation “know that Christians can be counted on to be intimidated. Christian Americans are generally complacent, tend to turn the other cheek — and have been conditioned to giving up their rights whenever a small but vocal minority begins shouting that they are offended.”

History Channel Puts The Strongest UFO Evidence Under The Microscope

• In 1986, a Japan Airlines pilot saw what he described as an unidentified flying object over Alaska closely tailing his 747. He made an evasive move. His career was thrown into turmoil, but he never recanted what he claimed he saw.

• In 1987, an Federal Aviation Administration executive says the CIA warned him not to talk about UFOs because the public would panic.

• In 1997, former Arizona Gov. Fife Symington mocked thousands of people who said they saw mysterious lights over Phoenix, calling out a staffer dressed in a cheesy ET costume at a press conference. Ten years later, he apologized for lying to the media and the public.

What these events have in common is that they are unveiled on a new two-hour History Channel special, "Secret Access: UFOs On The Record," that features in-depth accounts from people who have been willing to risk their jobs and reputations to speak out about their remarkable experiences with UFOs.

"The theme of the program is that UFOs exist, but there's a small percentage of sightings that are significant and haven't been explained," said Leslie Kean, author of The New York Times bestseller UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On The Record, which forms the basis of the History Channel special.

Of all UFO sightings reported, most can be explained as ordinary phenomena, and therefore discarded. However, there are some spectacular, well-documented UFO events have been officially investigated by government agencies, witnessed by pilots and confirmed by Air Force generals. No conventional explanations were found despite extensive efforts by experts to do so. These are the cases explored in "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record" and in the History Channel special, "Secret Access: UFOs On The Record."

"There is a phenomenon here and there are many high level officials, including pilots and government people, who have been involved with it and who stand behind the existence of UFOs.

"We make the point that we don't know what they are and that there are a significant number of cases that need to be studied further," Kean told The Huffington Post.

One compelling case presented in "Secret Access," which has become known as the Rendlesham Forest incident, involved more than 50 military eyewitnesses stationed at the joint U.S. Air Force/NATO bases, Bentwaters and Woodbridge, in Suffolk in 1980.

As the incident unfolded, numerous UFOs of various shapes and sizes appeared near the bases, according to a voice recording of deputy base commander, Lt. Col. Charles Halt during the event.

"This was something of intelligent control beyond any technology we know," Halt told this reporter several months ago. "It's my firm belief that it was extraterrestrial or from a different dimension."

Then there's the remarkable case involving former Arizona Gov. Fife Symington, which began on the night of March 13, 1997, when crowds of citizens reported gigantic, silent craft moving around in the skies around Phoenix and which took off silently at blazing speeds. Witnesses included police officers, pilots, military personnel and -- as was finally revealed 10 years later -- Symington himself.

The two-term governor was at home, watching television when news came on announcing UFO reports in the nearby area. Symington's security detail had gone for the day, and he decided to get into his car alone and check it out.

"I was expecting to see something in the distance, but was awestruck when this thing went overhead. It was moving steadily and quietly," he told The Huffington Post.

Symington's description of the huge boomerang-shaped craft matched many others who also reported it that night.

After three months of local media coverage, the Arizona sightings finally hit the national airwaves and were dubbed the "Phoenix Lights." With growing public demand for an explanation, Symington -- still tight-lipped about his own sighting -- held a national press conference that would haunt him for years.

Claiming to have the culprit responsible for the Phoenix Lights, the governor introduced his chief of staff dressed as an alien and wearing handcuffs. As his staffer was unmasked, Symington told the press,"This just goes to show that you guys are entirely too serious."

Ten years after his phony alien stunt, Symington finally fessed up about his own dramatic 1997 Phoenix sighting.

"Well, I was confronted by good citizens who were really upset with me, and I didn't realize the depth of their anger. It just really bothered my conscience, so I felt I really needed to square with the truth and that's what I did."

Symington admits there's a taboo about elected officials talking about UFOs.

"I think if you hold a high public office, that the minute you start talking about UFOs or extraterrestrials or anything of that nature, the media immediately tees off and ridicules it. I often refer to the media culture in our country as the culture of ridicule.

"So, everybody reaches for their ridicule gun first before they seriously address the issue when it comes to the matter of UFOs. If you're an elected official, you really need to be careful about what you say, because the media can just totally destroy your credibility."

"Secret Access" isn't the first UFO program presented by the History Channel, according to Julian Hobbs, vice president of development and production.

"History doesn't necessarily believe or disbelieve in UFOs. In this case, what really caught our eye about Leslie's book was this idea that 95 percent of all UFO sightings can be pretty easily dismissed -- it's the 5 percent in which you have literally governors, military officials, pilots -- people normally considered to be level-headed, sane and credible," Hobbs told The Huffington Post.

"There wouldn't be the film without the book. When I read Leslie's book, on which the film is based, it changed my opinion about the fact that I think it's worth further investigation into these phenomena," Hobbs added.

Kean, herself, is optimistic about potential contact with extraterrestrials.

"I would hope that they are benign visitors from other planets -- that they would be something that could in some way benefit our own struggle on this planet," Kean said. "Even if we knew that we were not alone in the universe, somehow that knowledge alone could affect how we perceive ourselves and maybe affect the future of our civilization."

And Symington is much more outspoken on the subject now than he was while governor of Arizona.

"I know what I saw. To me, there's no question that we've experienced extraterrestrial visits and civilizations that are far more advanced than we are," he suggested.

"I don't approach it from a fearful standpoint. I actually like to think that we're not alone in the universe, and I'm not bashful on the subject. I think we're dealing with some fascinating unknowns and someday, the truth will out."

The History Channel presentation of "Secret Access: UFOs On The Record", premieres Thursday, Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. EDT.
