Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

Q: In what way does a normal nightmare differ from one which represents a psychic attack?
A: All nightmares are varying degrees of imposed psychic attacks as you are being negatively 'milked' ethereally for energy within raw angst, by an entity who you might have picked up in daily transit not unlike dog poo on your shoe bottoms.
The signature function of the brain during dreaming is to maintain the dream state, to incorporate extraneous outside stimuli into a dream, to 'lie to you', to keep you dreaming.
If a fire truck's siren blares down your block while you are sleeping your brain will incorporate that sound into the dream scenario at hand to keep you asleep and dreaming.
The 'convenience dream' clearly illustrates how this works.
One's bladder may dully pulse as full, but rather than awaken the sleeper, the brain conjures a bathroom scenario instead where you 'dream' that you saw the tile floor and even sat down on a toilet. One awakens much later thinking, with a fuller bladder, thinking; 'I thought that I just WENT to the bathroom?!'
A nightmare, which awakens one, usually in greeat angst, violates this tacit basic rule of dreaming by awakening you. One's rude awakening reveals that nightmare scenarios are being telepathically imposed by a parasitic, discorporate entity for its ethereal feasting. A nightmare is very rarely a self-created scenario. In possession, the entity is no longer in daily transit to torture another (phantoms fill the air around us), but has settled in and has chosen you, as a 'host'.
The nightmares and bad dreams under a state of demonic possession seem realistic in every way compared to the intensity of waking consciousness and appear to be out of body attacks. One feels at every nighttime that one flirts with the beast of madness, itself.
Concurrent with such psychic attacks is poltergeist phenomena; things move within immediate vision, knocks and tapping on the walls and a general heavy unhappy creepy atmosphere envelope the house and its occupants. Pranks predominate.
Objects disappear to return days later in strange places and there's always a powerful sense of being watched by large eyes.
Q: What kind of person is most vulnerable to this kind of attack? How do they become a target?
A: One who leaves one's front door open to the street will invite in unwanted miscreants, unknown horrid people who wander in seeking mischief and unwholesomeness; so too does one who uses a Ouija board or thinks that it might be fun to have a ghost around unknowingly invites the opportunistic gangster fringe element of the spirit world in.
One who does not question the source of every negative thought one has, but who ignorantly and wrongly assumes that bizarre, odd and horrid negative thoughts, urges and behaviors are simply one's own, is especially susceptible.
Wolves like demons choose the weakest of the flock; young children are special nighttime targets who crawl into bed with their parents to seek protection from their energies, but there is an inverse rule also: people of strong spiritual light also bring these parasitic entities in like porch lights do bring in moths and then draw bats.
The dark side seeks to extinguish light and they attempt to do this by destroying the light in the person. Thus they will be attracted to people who shine brightly with such light.
A priest, a psychic or psychic healer, or a highly moral public figure in power are much more attractive to destroy than a mere banal person as “the trophy” is more valued.
Q: What is the worst possible outcome of such an event? A: Murder and or sexual abuse of one's own children, suicide, mental illness, drug addictions and self destructive habits, jail incarcerations may result. Q: What kind of mistakes does Western psychology make when dealing with this issue?
A: Western science does not differentiate between spiritual possession and clinical mental illness; a child who hears discorporate voices and sees spirits/ghosts is deemed psychotic not psychic, and thus is wrongly medicated.
Many institutionalized back ward 'psychotic' patients are possessed not insane.
Q: What is your view of the origin/nature of these non-physical entities?
A: They are inter-dimensional entities, denizens of several parallel spirit worlds. Most people with unwanted energy attachments will have more than one of the following:
Fatigue
Headaches
Cold patches in the aura
Insomnia
Bad dreams and nightmares
Unexplained aches and pains
Anxiety and fearfulness
Depression
Obsessive/compulsive behavior
Self mutilation
Eating Disorders
Out of character behavior, especially angry outbursts
Lack of eye contact or a ‘haunted' look in the eyes
Drug addiction or alcoholism
Suicidal thoughts or actual attempts
Q: Do you think the existence of these phenomena will ever be explored by science, or that it is essentially unreachable by the physical sciences?
A: Science is especially inept in its ability to calibrate the human soul or gauge a demonic possession; it is beyond their measuring capabilities and thus does not exist.
To quote an abductee contemporary;
“A factor that God wants us to realize more completely and fully is that we are not alone in this ocean of air.
Even as vicious sharks and barracuda prowl the water, their demonic counterparts, foul and unclean spiritual raptors and carrion-eaters, demons who attack people, inhabit the ocean of air right along with us.
It is essential to our spiritual well-being to understand Paul's warning in Ephesians 6:10-12 that our battles are against these creatures, and that demons are fighting tooth-and-toe nail to hang on to what they believe is theirs by first-occupancy rights. “

Q – In terms of public education and safety, what do you feel are the most important points to get across regarding this issue?
A: For those dubious or cynical about the' realities' discussed, herein, I remind you that it's never too late to increase your learning, now that you're aware at least that much knowledge exists outside of your accumulated realm of learning.
It's sadly more than probable that there are many like you who are totally unaware of the unseen as well as the evil unseen, which makes you and them all the more vulnerable.
Knowledge is power and in this realm ignorance is hardly ever bliss.
The unseen evil world around us is as real as the nose on your face and as equally hard to see, but it exists nonetheless.
“This has to be one of my all time favorite abductions by aliens ever. Sure there were some great ones, but not many with live eyewitnesses and so many people awake during the encounter. Loss of memory of the encounter and lack of eyewitnesses really turn me off on such things, but not here,” says Scott Waring, author of UFO Sightings Daily
“Travis is one of the most credible eyewitnesses I have ever read about. Its easy to dismiss people and say they lie and everything is a hoax, but those words are created from the person subconscious fears that such an event could happen to them! The facts are fighting to say the least. So people take the easy way out..laugh and ridicule such true life events,” says Waring.
Waring says, “This event happened. He was subjected to rigours and torturous experimentation that no human being should ever undergo. Travis is a brave person to step up and tell the world the truth about what he went though. Have you ever been called a liar for something that was true and no matter how hard you tried to explain to the person they didn’t believe you…that what I mean.”
“People often try to impose their (perceptual field) view of themselves and the world, onto the others and thus believe the subject is the same as themselves. But each of us are unique, and each of us has a unique view of the world. Travis is hero for telling the world his abduction, and should be treated as such,” says Waring.
Our mass media is on an extraterrestrial kick. Watch any television or read any current magazine and you'll usually find at least one reference to UFOs and their alien pilots. Print ad's and TV commercials abound with the space aliens and their antics. It seems the popular notion is that UFOs (or Flying Saucers) are spacecraft from other planets. Many researchers no longer ask: “what are UFOs?” Instead they question, “What planet are they from?” But what do we really know about unidentified flying objects?
As any investigator of UFOs know, the phenomenon is multifaceted, it seems to first be one way, then suddenly another. People witness what appears to be unknown solid objects in the air that suddenly fade away like ghosts. Others come into contact with beings that seem to be from the unknown craft. These creatures come in all shapes and sizes, and claim to be from just about anywhere. There have been so many witnesses over the years that we can no longer simply dismiss all such sightings as mistakes, hoaxes or delusion. But neither can we simply except UFO's at face value as visitors from other planets.
Strange sights in our skies is nothing new. For as long as we have had written records, reports of UFOs have been made. Strange entities are also not new to mankind's history. Many such beings in the past have claimed to be from the heavens. Since the earliest times, mankind has felt that there must exist a mind superior to his own. Until now, Man has always thought of supreme beings in a religious context. That is why until the industrial revolution, sightings of UFOs and contacts with strange creatures were thought of as mystical experiences.
With Science as the new religion, the former “Gods” and “Angels” have now turned into the “ET's” and “Grays.” In fifty years we have witnessed the birth of a new religion, the church of interplanetary visitors. As with other religions, proof is not needed, only faith. What is it that has converted so many to the extraterrestrial dogma?
From the very beginning of the modern UFO era (1947) some witnesses claimed to have been contacted by the occupants of the Flying Saucers. These creatures said they were from other worlds, usually planets from our own solar system. The contactees were shown pictures of the home planets, some even claimed to have been taken to these other worlds. They were convinced their experiences were real. Not every UFO sighting led to an occupant sighting, nor did all entity sightings lead to communication with the witness. During the Europe UFO flap of 1952, strange creatures, apparently associated with the UFOs were reported by witnesses. However, there was little actual communication between the beings and witnesses. Generally the stories were the same, the witness, while out at night, spots a strange metallic object on the ground, close by is seen one or several humanoids. After a few seconds the beings reenter the object which then flies away. The entities sighted range indescription from tall blond, blue-eyed humans, to short hairy dwarfs.
As time went by these creatures no longer ran away, but instead sought to communicate with people, usually to warn of the dire results of using atomic weapons. A favorite subject of aliens in the 1950's. They also spoke of their home worlds, places of utopian peace and beauty, but now farther away, in other solar systems or as close by as the center of our hollow earth. Again the witnesses accepted what they heard as the truth. They spread the information through self-published pamphlets, books, radio talk shows and television. These contactees were universally laughed at and discredited. However, maybe we should have considered that the contactee had a real experience, but was then fed false information.
Emanuel Swedenborg once wrote: “when spirits begin to speak with man you should not listen to anything they say, for surely they will lie.” Perhaps our friends from the Flying Saucers are kin to the spirits that Swedenborg wrote of. “They tell such wondrous tales.”
What are we dealing with then? The UFO phenomenon does seem to be controlled; it does follow intelligent patterns. But the information given to us by the ufonauts is generally false, and is, perhaps, a deliberate smoke screen to cover-up what really is going on. Whatever the UFOs are up to, they are doing it on a world wide scale. And it's inevitable that they should from time to time come in contact with some of us. When such contacts do occur, they deliberately hand out ridiculous information. Our belief systems are exploited. This whole mystery has been designed not only to keep us confused and skeptical, but to convince us that we are hosts to visitors from other planets. Someone is very interested in keeping this idea alive.
Starting in the 1970's and continuing through the 90's, the “Alien Abduction” story appears to be a recent development in the ever growing UFO mystery. Research has shown however, that this story has roots extending as far back as writings in ancient sumerian texts, to the books of the Bible. For years, people saying they've been snatched up by non-human entities has not been an uncommon occurrence. Perhaps one of the best researched incidents is the alleged abduction by aliens of Betty and Barney Hill. Their story is covered in the excellent book, THE INTERRUPTED JOURNEY by John Fuller. The Hill's experience would serve as a template as others over the years would report similar abductions.
The number of participants involved also increased. Whereas in the past, usually only one person was abducted, now reports of whole carloads of people being kidnapped have surfaced. In the 1980's , abduction phenomenon changed from random encounters on dark roadways, to people being taken from their beds in the middle of the night. As more and more people came forward to tell of their encounters, similarities in the details became apparent.
What was interesting in the early days of abduction research, was that people who had noprevious knowledge about UFOs were telling practically the same story. This was before the extensive media attention on abduction experiences, so it was unlikely that all the witnesses could have been influenced by the same outside sources.
Today the abduction stories along with the abductors have become ingrained in modern folklore. The stories and descriptions of the alleged aliens have become homogenized. The early stories saw a multitude of events and entities. Now the entities described almost always are what are now known as the “Grays.” Short humanoid creatures with grey skin, large heads, and huge black eyes. The UFO flaps in the fifties and sixties saw reports of all kinds of different creatures. Few past sightings have surfaced that coincide with recent descriptions of the grays.
Are we seeing a cultural condition? Or maybe some kind of human psychological bias? Entity reports from other countries continue to show a wide range of descriptions. This detail could enable us to better understand the nature of this mysterious phenomenon.
Of the case histories we've studied in this article, most are purely anecdotal, comprising witness testimony to an event for which that testimony generally constitutes the only evidence. It could be possible that every witness is either lying or deluded, even in those cases where more then one person, strangers to one another, report the same experience. I believe, though, that most of these reported cases really did, in some form, actually occur. What form that experience seemed to take, and what it's real nature was, is another matter. In many cases, the witness offered no interpretation of their experience. They simply said what had happened to them and hoped others would explain it.
What are the facts with these cases? How are they being explained? Beings that seem to accompany UFOs are described by witnesses as short humanoids, tall beings, or even normal looking humans. Most of them do not match the standard descriptions that have been made so popular by rabid believers or by the media. This is the dilemma that faces modern UFO research. In the eagerness to grasp onto a few tentative patterns, which are often reinforced by bombarding witnesses with leading questions under hypnosis, many researchers actually select the cases that match their preexisting expectations. Naturally, this can lead to skewed results. However, there is a genuine UFO phenomenon. Years of research with thousands of witnesses over the years have convinced me of this fact. This phenomenon is not explained though by the revelations of alleged government agents. Nor by such UFO cult groups as Heavens Gate. The genuine UFO phenomenon appears to be associated with a form of non-human consciousness that manipulates space/time in ways we do not understand. Most researchers though, still cling to the notion that any non-human form of conscious must be from outer space.
The simple truth is if there is a form of life and consciousness that operates on properties of space/time we have not yet discovered, then it doesn't have to be extraterrestrial. It could come from any place and from any time, even our own world. Past encounters with strange entities seem to show an almost personal connection with the witness. Personal beliefs of the witness appear to be known and exploited by the contacting beings. Before anyone had even heard of other planets we believed in fairies and sprites. We still have records of people who claimed encounters with these creatures, much like modern UFO encounters. Today we don't believe in the wee folk. Yet the same basic phenomenon still occurs. It has just been dressed in more modern, space-aged clothes.
It is easy to speculate, everyone has their favorite theory. However, instead of letting personal theory control investigations, researchers instead need to listen to what is being said by the witnesses. Offer no explanations, because the phenomenon seems to conform to the participants expectations. Look at the evidence that has been gathered over the last one thousand years, not just the last fifty. What is being seen? What has been said? What is the real evidence that is being presented to us? Only through knowledge will we begin to understand the enduring mysteries in our skies.

Philosophy, often in the form of religion, does not seek the truth. It seeks believers, and the truth is an enemy."

En 1911, l'historien américain Hiram Bingham, fasciné par la civilisation inca, se rend au Pérou dans le but de découvrir de nouveaux vestiges. Suivant les indications d'un fermier qui évoque la présence de fabuleuses ruines, il découvre le site de Machu Picchu, bâti au XVe siècle. Les colons espagnols avaient cherché en vain pendant presque quatre siècles ce lieu sacré, gigantesque tombe de l'Inca Pachacútec, qui régna de 1438 à 1471.

Le chef de la SS Heinrich Himmler était féru de mysticisme. Otto Rahn, un aventurier, l'a mis sur la piste du Saint Graal, la coupe que Jésus aurait portée à ses lèvres lors de la cène, réputé procurer la vie éternelle. En se basant sur le poème épique «Parzifal», écrit en 1205 par Wolfram von Eschenbach, Otto Rahn a déterminé que le Graal ne pouvait être conservé qu'à Montségur, la forteresse cathare. Himmler a donc financé, en vain, les recherches de Rahn.

En Grèce, au IV ème siècle avant Jésus-Christ, une nouvelle version de ce livre, le " Corpus Hermaticum ", aurait été mise au point par le dieu Hermès. Aujourd'hui encore, si de nombreux historiens pensent qu'il n'a jamais existé, la légende du livre de Thot continue de fasciner.

En 1924, lors d'un voyage en train, Heinrich Himmler se plonge dans une lecture qui va changer le destin de l'Allemagne. Dans " La Germanie ", écrit près de 2000 ans auparavant, Tacite y décrit les Germains - prétendument descendants des Aryens -, comme un peuple chaste, honorable et courageux. Lorsqu'il devient chef de la SS en 1929, Himmler forme ses troupes à l'image de cette race qu'il considère supérieure, et caresse le projet d'étendre ce mode de vie et ces valeurs à l'ensemble du peuple allemand. Mais la possession du manuscrit original de Tacite lui échappe en vain.

Two UFOs were recorded on video over Eagle Rock, California on June 27, 2011.
The witness submitted his video to Open Minds, which shows two seemingly aerial unidentified objects. These UFOs were seen near the witness’s home in Eagle Rock at sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. He noticed the first object, which he assumed was a balloon, while walking his dog. He noticed two other people watching the object as well. He ran home to grab his video camera, then began recording.
He describes that one UFO “shot out like a shooting star, but stopped and hovered.” He describes the other UFO as “more solid shape like a cigar traveling in one direction . . . behind the power lines.” He continues, “The UFO almost looks like it stops and then moves into the clouds and as you can see it is covered and the brightness of the UFO diminishes as it enters the clouds, which gives it a morph look to it.”

The objects do appear strange on video, but their morphing appearance is a typical and expected result when a camera is zoomed in and trying to focus on something in the sky. Lots of digital noise makes it impossible to determine the actual shape of the UFOs. But although the hovering object resembles a balloon, and the moving “cigar” shaped object that flies behind the power lines resembles a conventional airplane, the witness is convinced the UFOs are more mysterious in nature. So convinced, in fact, that he has uploaded various versions of his UFO footage to YouTube with sensational titles like, “Meteor stops and turns into UFO,” and “UFO PROBE Invisible caught spying on inhabitants of Earth.”

The witness also asserts that mysterious orbs appeared in security camera footage, and that one of these orbs was blocking him from going outside.

I received the following narrative during the weekend:
One of your readers suggested that I should write to you about the experience that I had last evening. The reader is a friend of mine and I was recounting what I had experienced and she suggested it may be…therapeutic to tell you. I’m far from a full believer in this kind of thing, though my grandmother and mother have both had sightings. I’m not one for belief, but what I saw last night chilled me.
I was driving home down my street. I live in Rio Rancho, a small city near Albuquerque, New Mexico. I live near the border of the two cities, and there is a sharp bend in the street of my neighborhood. I was going around that bend when I saw a woman on the right sidewalk. She was dressed in a red, knee-length dress of an extremely vivid hue. Her skin was pale but not white. She was barefoot as well, and vividly brown hair was tied in a messy, falling-apart bun behind her head. Locks of hair had fallen about her face and she was staring up and forward. I could not see her face.
I felt chilled to the bone, and scared beyond anything that she would turn and gaze at me. I felt like time had slowed down, and a profound sense of wrongness. I drove home as fast as I could and locked my doors. I have never had an experience like this before, and I still think about it with a great degree of nervousness. The question of just how an ancient civilization—without the help of modern technology—moved the 2.5 ton stones that made up their famed pyramids has long plagued Egyptologists and mechanical engineers alike. But now, a team from the University of Amsterdam believes they’ve figured it out, even though the solution was staring them in the face all along.
It all comes down to friction. See, the ancient Egyptians would transport their rocky cargo across the desert sands, from quarry to monument site with large sleds. Pretty basic sleds, basically just large slabs with upturned edges. Now, when you try to pull a large slab with upturned edges carrying a 2.5 ton load, it tends to dig into the sand ahead of it, building up a sand berm that must then be regularly cleared before it can become an even bigger obstacle.
Wet sand, however, doesn’t do this. In sand with just the right amount of dampness, capillary bridges—essentially microdroplets of water that bind grains of sand to one another through capillary action—form across the grains, which doubles the material’s relative stiffness. This prevents the sand from berming in front of the sled and cuts the force required to drag the sled in half. In half.
As a UvA press release explains,
The physicists placed a laboratory version of the Egyptian sledge in a tray of sand. They determined both the required pulling force and the stiffness of the sand as a function of the quantity of water in the sand. To determine the stiffness they used a rheometer, which shows how much force is needed to deform a certain volume of sand.
Experiments revealed that the required pulling force decreased proportional to the stiffness of the sand…A sledge glides far more easily over firm desert sand simply because the sand does not pile up in front of the sledge as it does in the case of dry sand.
These experiments served to confirm what the Egyptians clearly already knew, and what we probably already should have. Artwork within the tomb of Djehutihotep, which was discovered in the Victorian Era, depicts a scene of slaves hauling a colossal statue of the Middle Kingdom ruler and in it, a guy at the front of the sled is shown pouring liquid into the sand. You can see it in the image above, just to the right of the statue’s foot.
We can now finally put this scientific snipe hunt to rest and focus on how the hell Stonehenge got that way.
In 2004, NASA scientists announced that there was a chance that Apophis, an asteroid larger than two football fields, could smash into Earth in 2029. A few additional observations and some number-crunching later, astronomers noted that the chance of the planet-killer hitting Earth in 2029 was nearly zilch.
Now, reports out of Russia say that scientists there estimate Apophis will collide with Earth on April 13, 2036. These reports conflict on the probability of such a doomsday event, but the question remains: How scared should we be?
Technically, they’re correct, there is a chance in 2036 [that Apophis will hit Earth],” said Donald Yeomans, head of NASA’s Near-Earth Object Program Office. However, that chance is just 1-in-250,000, Yeomans said.
The Russian scientists are basing their predictions of a collision on the chance that the 900-foot-long (270 meters) Apophis will travelthrough what’s called a gravitational keyhole as it passes by Earth in 2029. The gravitational keyhole they mention is a precise region in space, only slightly larger than the asteroid itself, in which the effect of Earth’s gravity is such that it could tweak Apophis’ path.
The situation is that in 2029, April 13, [Apophis] flies very close to the Earth, within five Earth radii, so that will be quite an event, but we’ve already ruled out the possibility of it hitting at that time, Yeomans told Life’s Little Mysteries. On the other hand, if it goes through what we call a keyhole during that close Earth approach … then it will indeed be perturbed just right so that it will come back and smack Earth on April 13, 2036, Yeomans said.
The chances of the asteroid going through the keyhole, which is tiny compared to the asteroid , are minuscule, Yeomans added.
The more likely scenario is this: Apophis will make a fairly close approach to Earth in late 2012 and early 2013, and will be extensively observed with ground-based optical telescopes and radar systems. If it seems to be heading on a destructive path, NASA will devise the scheme and machinery necessary to change the asteroid’s orbit, decreasing the probability of a collision in 2036 to zero, Yeomans said.
There are several ways to change an asteroid’s orbit, the simplest of which is to run a spacecraft into the hurtling rock. This technology was used on July 4, 2005, when Deep Impact smashed into the comet Tempel 1.
It would seem that we are long overdue to re-open the legends told by Native Americans who arrived to this land, more than likely it would seem, finding a race of man already here.
Many of their legends portray these encounters from the Paiutes who spoke of red-haired giants at Lovelock Cave to the Lenni Lenape telling of beating a giant race and running their remaining members down the Mississippi. The Natives in Wisconsin tell of the mines being mined by the white-skinned people who were there prior to them. Now, let's look at another legend passed down by the tribes of the Mississippi Valley. From the very illuminating book Records of Ancient Races in the Mississippi Valley by William McAdams, Richard Ellsworth Call, 1887. The Piasa Bird was created by the mysterious race of people known as the Moundbuilders of unknown American Aboriginal origins. The Piasa pictograph was on a high bluff above the City of Alton, on the Mississippi River. John Russell, a professor at the local college, had gotten a story from the local Native Americans about the giant pictograph. Supposedly, high on the bluff where no human could reach, this giant pictogram was placed. It was said by the local tribes that many thousands of moons ago, when the giant mastodons were still stomping around the lush green earth there, there existed a bird of such extreme dimensions that it could carry off a full-grown deer with his talons. It lived inside a cave. (reminds me of the “dino” bones from the cave – below)
After having a taste of human flesh, it continued to carry off the people and eat them. In desperation, the leader went away and fasted and thought for a time and came back with a solution. They were to put one of the own out there in the prairie in full view for the Piasa to come in and then they would shoot it down. In memory of this event, the tribe cut the bird into the stone to never forget their losses and their victory. Russell tells that in 1836, he climbed the bluffs to a cave. It was extremely hard to reach, but when he went inside, he found thousands and thousands of bones. The cave was 20-30 feet long and they dug 3-4 feet deep and still only found bones.
Blog author note **As an interesting aside, throughout that region and into Tennessee, caves were found filled with human bones that appeared to have been split lengthwise and marrow removed, showing cannibalism perhaps by ancient giant race, so the finding of so many bones in a cave might not have had a thing to do with a bird, but with giants** Strip miners removed the rock face at one time and when officials decided to repaint the bird, they put it in a new location (reported as a few hundred yards away) and more stylized than the original. Oddly, the actual supposed cave of this lair has yet to be found, though there are plenty of caves, but massive mining in the area has ruined much of what could have been entrances. There is a constant and ongoing debate about John Russell's legend telling. Many believe it is exaggeration and romance, and downright fiction. It gets more murky when folks with commentary such as this one (below) suggest changing the very style of the bird. Native Americana it is not, but the bluff monster has become such an integral part of the city's history and-folklore that it must be preserved. The creature should be painted anew on our bluffs, but I would strongly recommend that this latest representation be based on Marquette's 1673 description of the original “two painted monsters,” a description that emphatically included no mention of wings. An excellent model for this new painting would be the figure depicted on a 1678 map titled “The Explorations of Louis Jolliet” that portrays a bizarre wingless creature somewhat resembling panther. Blog author note:**As an interesting aside, I was very lucky to know someone who photographed an original drawing (above) made of the “monster.” At the bottom of the art work is written “”Piasa Drawn by T.J. Ladd 1876 in Holt, Ill.”**

Making it even murkier yet, in the book “Records of Ancient Races in the Mississippi Valley,” they speak of a drawing that came into their hands that resembled what early explorer, Marquette, had reported, “…a spirited pen and ink drawing 12 inches by 15 inches in size, and purporting to represent the ancient painting. It is inscribed `made by Wm Dennis, April 3d, 1825'” Apparently there are generations of different sketches that were made trying to preserve the mural. It was reported that the Indians when they had firearms, would systematically shoot at the mural as they went by it, defacing it a great deal by the 1800s and, by the time of the Civil War, it was gone to lime mining.
In Tennessee there were similar murals found and they were confused by how they were painted on a bluff where no human could reach. Assumptions were made that they were descended by rope to place them there. It was obviously a popular practice in Ancient America to create animal effigies on the ground and in murals, as well as carvings and decorative items, pipes and the like.
What this Piasa bird is based upon (what I refer to as the “kernel” of truth in a legend) is that something was eating the tribe members and the legend was attributed to a bird that had a taste for human flesh. A cave of bones was found. And, we know there were giants there who tended to practice cannibalism and leave the evidence within caves. So, in fact, the Piasa bird could be a legendary portrayal of a very harsh reality for the natives. As well, the Native people might have found a mural already painted there and came to attribute the giants who put it up as the Clan of the dragon-like cannibals. The bird might have been used to represent the giants who devoured man.

Walter Stephenson was out training his pair of bloodhounds and had just finished a long chase with his dogs and sat down on a log to rest, when things got weird. He espied upon the eastern horizon a speck, which he took to be a large kite. He paid little attention to the object, and shifted his gaze temporarily to other scenes. Soon his attention was attracted to a whirring noises and looking upward, he saw that the speck which he had a few moments before discovered in the eastern sky had approached almost directly over him, and that the object was in reality a huge balloon, but of a pattern and appearance he had never in his life before seen. He discovered that the floating mass was rapidly approaching the earth. Of a sudden, the observer says, strains of music calculated to charm the spheres burst from the balloon, which circled around and around and finally landed at Dikeman Springs. A number of strange people emerged from the car, which was closely curtained with a substance that fairly glistened in the sunshine that temporarily burst through the obscuring clouds, and all going to the big, flowing spring, knelt by it in a supplicating attitude and so remained for a minute or more. Mr. Stephenson says that while this was going on he sat quietly within speaking distance, and when the strange visitors arose to their feet and he supposed their devotional exercises were over, he asked if he might be permitted to inquire who they were, and what their mission? He said that instantly a visor was lifted by one of the company and the benign face of a lady showed from underneath and said in German, “Haben sie Beten?” (Did you pray?) And instantly all were aboard, the airship rose, circled about for a minute or more and was gone in a westerly direction. Mr. Stephenson says that the incident left an impression upon him that he can never forget, and while he knows that it was some human invention, it looked and the music sounded more like that ‘of angels than of mortals.’

6. Location: Bold Springs, Tennessee Date: April 21 1907 Time: 03:30 a.m.
A Mr. W. A. Smith described as a respected farmer living four miles from the town of Bold Springs, told how he left for town that Saturday morning at around 3.30 am. He was just on his way when he heard strains of music. Shrugging it off, thinking that perhaps a wedding must be taking place, he then noticed that the music came from above. He looked up and “was amazed to see a large balloon of unusual size and strange pattern.” Suspended from the balloon was a large closed car from within which the music appeared to come. The car was strung with electric lights, and a brilliant searchlight was carried at the front. No machinery or mechanism appeared in view, and the motive power could not even be surmised. The balloon directed its searchlight to a large spring, heading directly toward it. Finally the balloon descended slowly to the ground, about 30ft (9m) from the edge of the spring. Smith left his horse tied to a tree and went for a closer look. As he came close he noted a peculiar party of queer-looking persons in strange garb kneeling beside the spring, apparently engaged in silent prayer. Smith decided not to make contact, but as the group returned to their aerial craft, one of them pointed to him uttering some words that Smith could not understand. In closing, the Nashville American remarked: “In justice to Mr. Smith it should be stated that his story was told here Saturday afternoon, nearly 16 hours before the Sunday American reached town. In Sunday’s American appeared a story from Dickson, Tenn., in the adjoining county, chronicling the appearance of a similar aircraft, and crediting the strange visitors with speaking German.”

7. Location: Near Pleasant Spring, Tennessee Date: April 22 1907 Time: evening
Herman Schubert, who with his family lived at the edge of town claimed that the mystery aeronauts visited thereabouts as well. Schubert, who was German, regarded the aeronauts as “merely visitors from what he calls ‘the old country’.” The Schuberts occupied a large farm with a spring, a natural basin 20ft (6m) wide, at the edge of a 40-acre wood lot. The spring is the headwater of a small stream, which, from its rise on the Schubert farm, is known as Schubert Creek. Schubert and his 15-year old son Carl were at the spring-house that Sunday evening. Finishing his work, it was now near dark. Carl sat at the edge of the basin. The old man heard his son calling in a half-frightened tone, so he rushed outside. At an elevation of several hundred feet the two saw a large airship or balloon; from their account it is impossible to decide which. Suspended from the body of the air machine was a large closed car, very similar to the body of a stage coach, except that it was probably 35ft (10m) long, and had an entrance on either side instead of at the end. The airship landed at the edge of the spring and the Schuberts retreated inside the spring-house to witness the scene from there. Twelve to 14 people were seen walking to the spring “their attitude one of reverence, as though standing on sacred ground, or in a sacred presence.” At the spring the group arranged itself along the edge and knelt, apparently in silent prayer, being thus engaged for several minutes. When the strange aeronauts returned to the carriage, the elder Schubert, addressing no one in particular, asked what they were doing and who they were. The party with one exception, continued unheeding on the way to the car. Only one of the party took note of Mr. Schubert’s request. Turning toward the two this one of the travelers said, without raising the head covering, “Sie haben nicht gebeten; Rede uns nicht an,” which Mr. Schubert says is the German equivalent for “Thou has not prayed; address us not.” Mr. Schubert spoke to them in German, and the spokesman replied, evidently surprised at hearing the tongue; “Unsere Wohlfahrt ist noch nicht vallented; in guten Zeit wird die welt alles wissen.” This, Mr. Schubert says, is German for, “Our pilgrimage is not yet completed; the world will know all in time.” The spokesman then turned and followed his companions into the car, which rose rapidly and took a southerly direction.

8. Location: Near Nashville, Tennessee Date: April 26 1907 Time: morning
Mail carrier Asa Hickerson had been delivering the mail and was descending a steep hill with a little log building named Peabody School at the bottom, when his attention was drawn to “sounds resembling the chanting of some weird, funeral dirge, proceeding seemingly from the tops of the forest trees through which his route winded.” His horse became restless and all his attention was needed to calm the frightened animal. Pausing briefly, Hickerson left his buggy to adjust the harness, when once more the strange sounds were heard, but now much louder; simultaneously there swooped into plain view a gigantic aircraft that gradually and with the ease of a huge bird, settled softly to the ground, some 50 yards (46m) from where Mr. Hickerson struggled with his now almost unmanageable roan mare. A group of several men exited the long car attached to the craft, and forming in single file, resumed their long chant, and proceeded slowly to the mouth of an abandoned oil well at the side of the road. There the group conducted a strange ritual. Forming a circle around the well, one of them carrying a long staff plunged it three times in the well after having made “sundry passes in the air” with it. The group then withdrew to the opposite side of the road where the staff, dripping with the oil, was stuck in the moist earth and set alight. The band then joined hands and again lifting their voices in song, slowly circled around and around the flaming rod, while a small spiral column of black smoke whirled slowly upwards. The ceremony finished, the group returned to the airship. Hickerson too wanted to know what was going on. So he asked, “What are you doing here?” The one who had carried the staff replied in sonorous tones “Betreue deine sunde und bete!” (Be healthy and pray) extending his right hand as if invoking a benediction. The huge vessel then with the poise and grace of an eagle rose slowly until well above the forest and headed in a northeasterly direction and was soon lost to view.

A video filmed in Qutub Minar, India, has created quite a flurry of debate on the internet.
The dramatic footage starts with a young couple posing for the camera, then screams are heard from terrified onlookers.
As the camera pans skyward we see what looks like a humanoid figure hovering above.
The mysterious flying figure then darts around the sky before disappearing from view.
There is a strong possibility that this footage is some kind of viral marketing campaign, but with no further details regarding the video or sighting forthcomg, can we safely assume its an elaborate hoax?

Overal ter wereld bestaan verhalen over welvarende steden die voor altijd werden verzwolgen door de oceaan. Eén van die mythische steden is Atlantis, maar er zijn er meerdere. Is het mogelijk dat sommige van deze steden echt hebben bestaan? Door de technologische ontwikkelingen zijn we steeds beter in staat om de zeebodem af te speuren.
De laatste jaren zijn er al indrukwekkende ontdekkingen gedaan. Kunnen mysterieuze structuren op de zeebodem bewijs zijn voor hoogontwikkelde beschavingen? Afgelopen maand schreven we over vermeende megalithische ruïnes in Rusland. De afzonderlijke steenblokken lijken groter te zijn dan blokken die in Baalbek zijn gevonden.
Bij het Japanse eiland Yonaguni vond duiker Kihachiro Aratake in 1985 vreemde rotsformaties die er kunstmatig uitzagen. Hij waarschuwde de Universiteit van Okinawa over zijn ontdekking. Een wetenschappelijk team zou geconcludeerd hebben dat de plaatselijke zeebodem ruïnes bevat van constructies die vermoedelijk voor het einde van de laatste ijstijd zijn gebouwd.
Er zijn sporen van landleven gevonden, en stalagmieten en stalactieten die alleen boven water kunnen ontstaan. Dit suggereert een ouderdom van zeker 8000 tot 10.000 jaar. De ruïnes zouden dan de oudste overblijfselen van gebouwen ter wereld zijn.
In 2002 ontdekten wetenschapperseen onderwaterstad in de Golf van Khambhat in India. De stad staat bekend als ‘Dwarka’ (de gouden stad) en zou tenminste 9500 jaar oud zijn. De onderzoekers vermoedden dat de stad onder het wateroppervlak is verdwenen toen het ijs na de laatste ijstijd begon te smelten.

Op de bodem van het Huronmeer tussen het zuidoosten van Ontario en oostelijk Michigan zijn onlangs oude ruïnes gevonden. Het gaat onder meer om 9000 jaar oude omheiningen voor dieren. Het water stond duizenden jaren geleden een stuk lager dan nu, waardoor er een smalle landbrug ontstond in het midden van het meer. Zijn deze ontdekkingen pas het topje van de ijsberg?
