Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

In de naburige Andromedanevel heeft de Swift-ruimtetelescoop van de NASA gisteren een krachtige uitbarsting waargenomen, zo heeft het NBC News gemeld. Vandaag volgen er echter al berichten als zou het om "vals alarm" gaan.
Eerst dachten astronomen en/of astrofysici dat het om een gammaflits ging. Gamma-uitbarstingen zijn de krachtigste explosies in de kosmos en doen zich zelden voor. Ze worden veroorzaakt door een botsing van neutronensterren of zwarte gaten. Nog nooit is er één zo dichtbij gezien.
Later opperden astronomen dan dat de flits misschien door een minder exotisch type van ultraheldere röntgenstraling (ULX) is ontstaan. Zoiets is al gezien, zelfs in de Andromeda die ook als M31 bekendstaat. Wellicht gaat zo'n stralingsbron terug naar reusachtige zwarte gaten die omgevende materie opslokken.
Een derde theorie is dat de flits te maken heeft met een binair röntgensterrensysteem (LMXB).
Indien de eerste hypothese klopt is het de beste mogelijkheid ooit om één van de meest exotische gebeurtenissen in de kosmos te besturen, aldus NBC.
Als er zich een gammaflits in onze Melkweg zou voordoen en naar ons zou gericht zijn, zou die waarschijnlijk onze ozonlaag wegvegen en aan massale vernietiging van leven doen, schreef Business Insider. De dinsdag geziene uitbarsting zou zich 2,5 miljoen jaar geleden hebben voorgedaan. Het licht heeft ons nu pas bereikt.
Onder de hashtag #GRBM31 zorgde het evenement alvast voor veel verkeer op Twitter.
Maar een en ander zou vals alarm zijn geweest, zo blijkt uit een kort rapport van het Swift-XRT team. Het waargenomen signaal zou van een constante bron in M31 zijn.

Midden op de planeet Jupiter zit al eeuwenlang een gigantische rode vlek, een enorme storm, en die vlek wordt steeds kleiner. De doorsnee is nu nog maar 16.500 kilometer, kleiner dan ooit eerder gemeten. Dat blijkt uit nieuw onderzoek van de Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie NASA, dat de ruimtetelescoop Hubble naar Jupiter heeft laten kijken. De oorzaak van de krimp is niet bekend.
De Grote Rode Vlek is een storm, die vanaf de aarde te zien is met telescopen. De wind haalt er snelheden tot 680 kilometer per uur. Het is niet bekend hoe lang de storm al raast. In de 17e eeuw zagen astronomen de vlek mogelijk al. Een paar jaar geleden slokte de storm een kleinere storm op.
Eind 19e eeuw was de vlek nog ongeveer 41.000 kilometer in doorsnee. Dat betekent dat de aarde er drie keer in zou passen. Rond 1980 was de doorsnee nog maar 23.335 kilometer. De storm bleek in 2009 verder gekrompen, tot bijna 18.000 kilometer, en is nu dus 16.500 kilometer.
Tussen 1996 en 2006 werd de vlek dagelijks een kilometer kleiner. Nu is dat al drie keer zo veel. Als dat continu door zou gaan, is het kenmerk van Jupiter over enkele decennia verdwenen. Wetenschappers durven echter niet te zeggen of het echt zo ver kan komen.
Het ruimtevaartbedrijf SpaceX heeft gisteravond zijn nieuwe ruimtevaartuig Dragon V2 voorgesteld. Die moet binnen drie jaar Amerikaanse astronauten naar het Internationale Ruimtestation (ISS) brengen. Daarmee zal een einde komen aan de afhankelijkheid van de Russische Sojoez.
Het zal de eerste keer zijn dat astronauten vanop Amerikaanse grond de ruimte ingeslingerd worden sinds de laatste vlucht van de spaceshuttle in juli 2011. Sindsdien zijn de Verenigde Staten afhankelijk van de Russische Sojoez-ruimtecapsules om hun astronauten in het ISS te krijgen. Dat kost ongeveer 70 miljoen dollar per zitje.
De Dragon V2 kan zeven astronauten vervoeren en is een grote technologische sprong voorwaarts, aldus de CEO en stichter van SpaceX, de miljardair Elon Musk, tijdens een persevenement in het hoofdkwartier van zijn bedrijf in Californië. Musk is tevens de man achter het autobedrijf Tesla.
Precisie van een helikopter Dankzij stuwkracht en het gebruik van andere technologie om de afdaling te vertraging en controleren, moet de witte V2 in staat zijn op de meeste plaatsen te landen met de precisie van een helikopter. Parachutes worden bij de daling enkel ingezet in geval van defecten. Bovendien is het ruimtevaartuig herbruikbaar, wat grote besparingen oplevert.
"Zolang we raketten en ruimtevaartuigen blijven weggooien, zullen we nooit echte toegang tot de ruimte hebben", legde Musk uit. "Het zal altijd ongelooflijk duur blijven."
SpaceX is een van de vier bedrijven die door het Amerikaanse ruimtevaartbureau Nasa zijn geselecteerd om een capsule te ontwikkelen die astronauten naar het ISS kan brengen. In het partnerschap zitten ook Boeing, Sierra Nevada en Blue Origin. De druk om een capsule voor astronautenvervoer naar het ISS in gebruik te nemen, is sterk verhoogd door de grote spanningen tussen Moskou en Washington, vanwege de crisis in Oekraïne.
Contract van 1,6 miljard dollar De Dragon was het eerste privéruimtetuig dat zich aan het ISS koppelde. Dat gebeurde in 2012, toen de capsule vracht leverde. SpaceX sloot een contract van 1,6 miljard dollar (1,18 miljard euro) met Nasa om in totaal twaalf vrachtmissies naar het ISS uit te voeren. Daarvan vonden al drie succesvolle missies plaats.
Nasa zelf werkt dan weer aan de Orion-capsule, die op een dag astronauten naar een asteroïde en de planeet Mars moet brengen.
Rode planeet Op Mars is een nieuwe krater waargenomen op basis van 'voor en na'-foto's. De meer dan 45 meter brede krater ontstond eind maart 2012 al, maar werd pas een paar maanden geleden per toeval ontdekt door Bruce Cantor. De Amerikaanse nieuwssite Huffington Post spreekt van een primeur, gezien het om de grootste krater gaat die op dergelijke manier gespot werd.
Cantor was op basis van afbeeldingen van de Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter weersvoorspellingen voor de rode planeet aan het opstellen, toen zijn oog op een donkere vlek viel. De wetenschapper bestudeerde vervolgens oudere foto's van de plek. Hij bemerkte dat de krater ontbrak op foto's die genomen waren op 27 maart 2012, maar wel te zien was op die van 28 maart 2012, oftewel een dag later. Onderzoek met een ander instrument bracht uitsluitsel: op foto's die dateren van januari 2014 waren twee kraters te zien waarvan er in januari 2012 nog geen spoor was. De controle bevestigde dat de donkere vlek een nieuwe inslagkrater is.
In de buurt van beide kraters zijn ook meer dan tien kleinere kraters waargenomen, allicht een gevolg van het ontstaan van de grotere kraters. De grootste put is vermoedelijk ontstaan door de inslag van een object zo groot als een wagen. Het betreft een krater van zo'n 48,5 bij 43,5 meter groot. "Het object moet zo'n drie tot vijf meter lang zijn geweest", aldus nog Cantor.

According to the translated Aztec accounts of the Spanish invasion, contained in the fascinating The Broken Spears edited by Miguel Leon-Portilla, one of the Aztec hero’s Tzilacatzin, was a giant.

The description of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) has remained fairly consistent throughout history, stretching back into antiquity. While many could be attributed to natural phenomena, an in-depth study by NASA’s Richard Stothers found “There nonetheless remains a small residue of puzzling accounts, and regardless of what interpretation one places on them, these constitute a phenomenon that spans centuries of time and widely different cultures.”
Stothers (1939–2009) received a degree in mathematics at Princeton University, earned his Ph.D. at Harvard, and was a permanent member of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
Here’s a look at 5 UFO sightings Stothers deemed puzzling in a 2007 report.
1. Chariots in the Sky Witnessed by Many
Historian Josephus wrote around 65 A.D. about a fantastical sighting over Judea: “On the 21st of the month Artemisium, there appeared a miraculous phenomenon, passing belief. Indeed, what I am about to relate would, I imagine, have been deemed a fable, were it not for the narratives of eyewitnesses and the subsequent calamities which deserved to be so signalized. For, before sunset throughout all parts of the country, chariots were seen in the air and armed battalions hurtling through the clouds and encompassing the cities.”
Josephus likely witnessed this event himself, said Stothers, though he bolstered his credibility by appealing to eyewitness accounts. The description does not seem to correspond to any natural phenomena, Strothers wrote.
2. Thousands of Roman Soldiers Witness UFO?
Plutarch wrote of a sighting witnessed by thousands. In 74 B.C., the Roman army was moving to engage the forces of King Mithridates VI in the area of modern-day Turkey.
“With no apparent change of weather, but all on a sudden, the sky burst asunder, and a huge, flame-like body was seen to fall between the two armies,” he wrote. “In shape, it was most like a wine-jar (pithoi), and in color, like molten silver. Both sides were astonished at the sight, and separated. This marvel, as they say, occurred in Phrygia, at a place called Otryae.”
Stothers pointed out that freshly fallen meteorites are black, not “molten silver” color, which suggests it was not a meteorite. Plutarch also made no mention of the impact.
Stothers wrote: “The object must have measured much more than a meter across, since it was easily resolved at a distance greater than half the range of a bowshot. If it had remained on the ground, a meteorite of such size would doubtless have become a cult object in Phrygia, with its long tradition of meteorite worship, yet later historical records referring to Phrygian meteorites are silent about it.”
Nonetheless, there is a chance the UFO was a bolide, a bright meteor that often explodes.
3. Sightings During the Second Punic War in Rome

Many sightings were recorded during and following the Second Punic War (218–201 B.C.) in Livy’s prodigy lists. The lists were derived from the Annales Maximi, published by the Pontifex Maximus of Rome. This source is considered trustworthy and accurate, explained Stothers, because of the time-consuming and thorough procedure required by Roman authorities to investigate claims before they would be recorded.
In Rome, in the winter of 218 B.C., “A spectacle of ships (navium) gleamed in the sky.”
In 217 B.C., “at Arpi, round shields (parmas) were seen in the sky.”
In 173 B.C., “at Lanuvium a spectacle of a great fleet was said to have been seen in the sky.”
It is not likely that suggestive cloud formations would have been mistaken for UFOs, Strother said, since these formations had long been understood and were familiar features. These sightings are also not likely a mock sun, because mock suns are routinely described as “double suns” or “triple suns.”
4. ‘Angel Hair’ Glassy Fibers

In modern UFO reports, it is common to hear about either glassy fibers or a chalky substance left behind by the UFO, known as angel hair. Ancient reports also include angel hair.
In 196 A.D., the historian Cassius Dio wrote: “A fine rain resembling silver descended froma clear sky upon the Forum of Augustus. I did not, it is true, see it as it was falling, but noticed it after it had fallen, and by means of it I plated some bronze coins with silver; they retained the same appearance for three days, but by the fourth day all the substance rubbed on them had disappeared.”
Two other “rains of chalk” were reported in Cales 214 B.C. and in Rome 98 B.C.
5. UFO Inhabited
Pope Pius I’s brother was probably the only witness of this UFO sighting near Via Campana, Italy, around 150 A.D.: “On a sunny day, a ‘beast’ like a piece of pottery (ceramos) about 100 feet in size, multicolored on top and shooting out fiery rays, landed in a dust cloud accompanied by a ‘maiden’ clad in white.”
Stothers concluded “This collection of what might be termed ancient UFO reports has been culled from a much larger number of reports of aerial objects, most of whose identifications with known phenomena are either certain or at least probable. Embedded in the mass of relatively explicable ancient reports, however, is a small set of unexplained (or at least not wholly explained) reports from presumably credible witnesses.”
“Any viable theory must reckon with the extraordinary persistence and consistency of the phenomena discussed here over many centuries.”

Volgens RocketNews24 gaat het om een voet en een arm van een kappa die in 1818 is neergeschoten. Foto’s die van de ledematen zijn gemaakt, zien er bizar echt uit. Mensen beweren wel vaker resten van een kappa te hebben gevonden, maar het bleek tot nu toe steeds te gaan om nepskeletten.
Tot en met 22 juni aanstaande kunnen mensen met hun eigen ogen zien of het gaat om iemand die echt overblijfselen van het mythische wezen in bezit heeft. De kappa zouden zich voornamelijk ophouden in vijvers en rivieren. Ze hebben zich aangepast aan leven in en onder water en kunnen dan ook uitstekend zwemmen.
Het bekendste kenmerk van een kappa is een met water gevulde holte op zijn hoofd. Een kappa krijgt zijn kracht grotendeels van het vocht in deze holte. Kappa vallen graag mensen lastig. Volgens verhalen zouden kappa zich zelfs voeden met kinderen die zich te dicht bij het water begeven en met ingewanden van mensen die gaan zwemmen op plekken waar kappa leven.
Bij sommige vijvers en andere wateren staan zelfs vandaag de dag borden om mensen voor kappa te waarschuwen. Kappa zijn echter niet altijd kwaadaardig. Er zijn er ook die nieuwsgierig zijn naar de menselijke beschaving. Ze kunnen in bedwang worden gehouden met komkommer, het enige voedsel waar ze meer de voorkeur aan geven dan vlees.

Regarding why supposedly intelligent people have such difficulties with the Billy Meier case and its impeccably accurate prophecies and predictions
In recent weeks I’ve been sending information on the Billy Meier UFO case, including the prophetically accurate scientific information, to many different people in the mainstream, including scientists, social commentators, etc. Especially in light of NASA aerospace engineer, Matthew Wiezckiewicz’, recent endorsement of the authenticity of the Meier case, I thought that there’d be some responses, even if they were only polite expressions of lack of interest in the information and its historical implications.
Unfortunately though – and unlike what I used to previously experience a lot – they won’t even write back to tell me how bogus and nonsensical, etc., the information and evidence is. Giving them the benefit of the doubt as intelligent people that know the case is genuine, the obvious reason for their silence is that they don’t see how it can profit them, or why they should risk their “credibility” by acknowledging it.
This attitude seems to extend to all sorts of “hard-hitting journalists”, who even complain about the “mainstream media” not doing its job!
For instance, quoting from the founders of one website (whose motto is, “We don’t cover the news – We uncover the truth”) to whom I submitted the information on the Meier case, “Over the years, however, I have learned how the media gatekeepers, both ‘mainstream’ and ‘alternative,’ will not allow the biggest, most disturbing revelations to see the light of day.”
Kinda like something we’ve been saying for a long time as well! So why have they too simply ignored my attempt to communicate with them? Probably for the very same reasons I stated above, as well as possibly some associations in their minds with the utterly delusional, tabloidesque, idiotic ramblings from the “UFO industry” that pollute everything with their bogus UFO “contactees”, “abductees” and “alien hybrid babies” garbage – all of which gains easy access for public dissemination. I don’t know for sure and I…welcome they’re being courageous enough to respond, as of course I’ll be sending them this article.
We live in a world where there are loud public voices such as Ann Coulter’s, which reflect the opinions of a significant numbers of the populace. In fact, her painfully infantile views, suicidally selfish beyond reason and in complete disregard and defiance of nature and its laws – an inevitably painful losing combination – reflect the majority views of an entire political party. Ironically, for truth “uncoverers”, the fact that Meier long, long ago accurately foretold the entire catastrophic environmental (and geopolitical) mess that is right now just unfolding, is something that they too simply don’t want to…uncover.
And while the good folks who “uncover the truth” may be on the so-called right side of many issues, they too have their limits as to how far they will go. The dead-end game of the religiously derived, insane, advantage oriented system of partisan politics infects even those who may think that they’re immune to it. How can we expect them to make the great leap in awareness that requires the clarity, honesty and real intelligence to confront the very politically incorrect truth that is the Meier case?
We are so used to the inevitability of disappointments in our so-called leaders that calling ourselves out on the real sham, our fake surprise and astonishment at such predictability, our dutifully reading our lines, “Hey, can you believe what those guys just did?”, is really long overdo. Because politics, like diplomacy, is institutionalized lying, because it is designed to go firmly against the laws of Creation itself, we’re indeed stuck in the old “doing the same thing, getting the same results” brand of collective insanity.
Several years ago I told Meier that, based on everything I’d read, I didn’t think that the Plejaren actually understood us very well, as least for too long a time. Surprisingly, he agreed with me and explained that they didn’t understand the enormity, depth, breadth and reality of just how much we lied…to ourselves as well as others. It actually surprised me because they, and their forefathers, have obviously been well aware of what goes on in this asylum for far, far, far longer than we have been.
But Meier said that they weren’t really authorized to look more deeply into people’s personal lives, at least for a very long time. The reasoning had been that to do so was a violation of privacy and possibly free will. In other words for a time they pretty much accepted us, as we seemed to represent ourselves, including a lot of the claims by people who said that they were contacted by extraterrestrials themselves. (The revisions and corrections the Plejaren made pertaining to these alleged contactees have also caused some understandable problems and confusion in the case.)
Now, for those of us who through our own extensive research and reasoning have already concluded that the case and its information is real, credible and true, we must recognize that such discussions about the Plejaren are well outside of the frame of reference of the majority of the population and, let’s be honest, seem bizarre and ridiculous. Again though, it’s only because they either haven’t yet done their own due diligence or lack the courage and intellectual honesty required to do so. We know that it’s going to be an immensely long time before significant numbers of people turn their attention to this information, let alone the specific, brilliant spiritual teaching, and the recommendations and advice that could save humanity untold grief if intelligently considered and implemented.
Nonetheless, I will continue to reach out to any and all reasonably intelligent people where there’s even a glimmer of a possibility that they are capable, let alone willing to really uncover the truth and, through their own public presence, offer the same opportunity to their audiences.

Georgia, according to ancient Greek authors, was a fabulously wealthy land with an advanced civilization. The Georgian language is more than 2000 years old; it is one of the world’s oldest languages with its own unique alphabet.
Georgia developed as a kingdom (Kingdom of Kartli, or the Caucasus Iberia) around the IV century BCE (Before Common Era), and reached the height of its prosperity in the XII and XIII centuries.
Georgian culture evolved over thousands of years with its foundations in Colchian and the Caucasus Iberian civilizations, continuing into the ascent of the unified Georgian Kingdom under the single monarchy of the Bagrationi. The royal Bagratid dynasty claimed to be descendants of Biblical King David of Israel.
Georgia is a relatively small country, but for centuries, Georgia’s geographic position has opened it to religious and cultural influences from the West, Persia, Turkey, and Russia; it was a crossroad between Christian and Muslim traditions, a land of ethnic and religious tolerance. The country had suffered foreign invasions and destruction, it was mortally wounded more than a few times, but like the mythical bird Phoenix, it would rise up, rebuild, and proudly live on.

In this article we will look at the strange phenomena that occurred in the sky over Georgia in the XIII and XVII centuries. During the reign of Queen Tamar Bagrationi, the great granddaughter of King David IV, the Georgian Kingdom reached the zenith of its political might. Queen Tamar left to her son and heir, Giorgi IV Lasha (he ruled in the years 1212-1223), a powerful and tolerant multinational kingdom with a unique Georgian Christian culture.
King Giorgi was planning to join the Crusaders and expand his kingdom by liberating Jerusalem, but the emergence of nomadic invaders unified by the iron fist of Chinggis Khan (Lord of the Universe), from faraway steppes and deserts, put an end to his plans. The Mongol Empire of Temuzhin (Genghis Khan or Chinggis Khan in Mongolian) was spreading like wild fire through Eurasia, from the shores of the Pacific Ocean to the heart of Europe.The Mongols of the 13th century laid waste to nations, cities, towns, and villages; to the nomads, Chinggis Khan brought glory, the conquests, a code of conduct and organization.
In the year 1206 CE (Common Era), Chinggis Khan proclaimed himself ruler of the Mongol Empire; in 1211 CE, the Khans’ armies started marching east across the Gobi Desert and assaulted China.
It was the policy of Chinggis Khan and his successors that any city or state that resisted the Mongol armies should be destroyed completely.
In the year 1218 CE, the Mongols captured territory in south Kazakhstan and north and south route of Silk Road in China. In that same year of 1218 CE, the invasion of Transoxiana (modern-day southwest Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan) had taken place.
A Star with a Tail
Grigol Abashidze (1914–1994) was a prominent Georgian writer and academician. He wrote a series of epic historical novels, including Lasharela (1957), Didi ghame (1963), and Tsotne Dadiani anu kartvelta datsema da amaghleba (1975). In this trilogy, Abashidze masterly discussed the history of 13th century Georgia and the establishment of the Mongol yoke. He continued to write well into his age and published his last works at the age of 80, shortly before his death in 1994.
In his novel Lasharela (citing the 1984 Russian language edition, Chapter 24, page 229),Grigol Abashidze described an unusual phenomenon that occurred in the period of Georgia’s history:
…A redoubtable, heretofore unknown power was approaching the country from the East. Neighboring countries to the southeast of Georgia were shrouded in guarded silence. It was as if stifling heat had descended upon earth, and everything living was suspended. A great storm, all devouring fire was coming from the East. Like birds and animals that feel the approach of forest fire and flee to save themselves, caravans of merchants, pilgrims, and wandering dervishes started moving from the Central Asia to the Middle East, to seek refuge. Sheet lightnings of the faraway fire had not yet appeared on the horizon, dark clouds had not yet covered the clear sky, but the proximity of the terrible disaster was felt everywhere and all over. Astrologers read the unavoidability of the approaching disaster through the unusual movement of the planets, and wandering prophets predicted the end of the world was near. In the middle of August, a star with a tail had appeared in the sky. Initially, it was sighted during the Saturday vespers hour. Its tail grew in size each night. In the beginning, the tailed guest appeared only at daybreak, later it became visible also at midnight, and in a few days it brightly glowed all through the night.
It arrived from the East, and its light at first barely reached the ground, but then it strengthened and started glowing so blindingly as to cause people to fear and tremble when they looked at the star. It grew, and assumed the shape of a spear, and other stars faded in the radiance of its rays. The fear that was caused by appearance of an unusual heavenly body was also intensified due to the powerful earthquake that took place in Georgia at the same time. A great temple was destroyed, and four priests perished under its ruins. The Church and astrologers prophesied great calamities, and predicted that the sword of an enemy will shatter peace and quiet of Georgia.
Grigol Abashidze’s Lasharela
While Abashidze does not state the year, it is clear from the analysis of Georgia’s history in general, and his novel Lasharela in particular that the sighting of the unusual heavenly body, or a UFO, took place in 1219 CE.
Abashidze had used a number of sources while working on his wonderful, gripping novels. Among them were historical chronicles written by Rashid-Ed-Din, Ibn El Asir, Nesevi, and Juvein. The primary source Abashidze had used was Kartlis tskhovreba (Alife of Georgia), which narrates Georgia’s history from ancient times to the XIV century.
This was the book about the heroic past of the Georgian people; and it remains a great source for the history of ancient and feudal, medieval Georgia. The first volume contains historical essays giving an account of events that took place in the XII through XIV centuries. These works are by the historian of Queen Tamar, the historian of King Lasha Giorgi, and an anonymous XIV-century author, who wrote of events that took place in the 13th and 14th centuries. Jamtaagmtsera was the name given by researchers to the chronicle of the unidentified chronicler of Georgia, and Jamtaagmtsereli was the name given to this anonymous, but important writer.
If the spear-shaped UFO sighted in 1219 CE was there to observe the coming disasters that would engulf Georgia and its neighbors, then its mission was not in vain. That year, 150 thousand Mongol warriors had attacked the lands ruled by Shah Muhammed II of Khorezm. Their fierce onslaught crushed ancient fortresses of Otrar, Khogent, Urgench, Samarkand, and then Khorezm. The Shah’s son, Jelal-ad-Din Mingburnu, was chased by Mongols throughout Asia, but valiantly fought back when possible. His armies invaded Georgia years later, burned and pillaged much of it in 1226, weakening the kingdom that would face the Mongol empire shortly thereafter.
In the fall of 1220 CE, a detachment of Mongolian soldiers led by military leaders Zhebe-noyon and Subuda-bagatur who pursued the oustedShah Muhammed of Khorezmto the Caspian Sea, reached Azerbaijan, entered Armenia (part of the medieval Georgian kingdom) and defeated King Lasha’s powerful combined army of Georgians and Armenians in the battle of Khunan at the Kotman River. There were around 20,000 Mongol troops, on a reconnaissance mission against some 60,000 Georgians and Armenians. Giorgi Lasha himself was severely wounded in the chest in the battle against the Mongols; he died of his wounds in 1223. The Mongols could not be stopped by any force, and even King Giorgi’s horsemen were no match for them. The Mongol army mainly consisted of lightly armored but heavily armed horse-archers.
The Mongol generals did not plan to conquer the Caucasus at that time and turned back. They returned with a much greater army in January 1221. The battle at Bardav was fought without a clear winner, and the Mongols withdrew to the Caspian Sea. They knew that it would be extremely difficult to fight the brave Georgians in their land, full of gorges and mountains. Much blood would have to be spilled.
The Mongols returned in 1236 in a full-scale invasion, forcing Georgia (weakened by Jelal-ad-Din’s bloody reign) into submission by 1243.

What was that “star with a tail” over Georgia? It possessed rays that reached the ground, and it hovered over the land for days. Was it a triangular UFO, as the description seems to indicate? I will continue searching through the ancient records and chronicles to learn more of this mysterious UFO that visited the kingdom of Georgia in 1219 CE.
One manuscript from the XVII century mentioned another spear-shaped UFO over Georgia.
XVII Century, Georgia under the Ottoman Empire
In the XV century, Georgia became an isolated Christian country surrounded by the Islamic world. The country descended into poverty, lost touch with its co-religionists, and eventually was fragmented into four smaller kingdoms. To preserve their independence and faith, to safeguard their territories from distant tribes moved there by foreign rulers, the Georgian people had waged a bloody and heroic struggle during the next centuries.
The XVII century was full of hardships and suffering for the people of Georgia. But indomitable Georgians rose up to liberate Georgia from the Sefevide Persia and the Ottoman Turkey, on a number of occasions.
Western Georgia belonged to the Osman Ottoman Empire by the terms of the 1639 treaty.
Deacon Zakaria Sarkawagi was a churchman and Armenian historian. He was known as Zakaria of Kanaker, for he was born in 1626 in the village of Kanaker, now a suburb of Yerevan; he died in 1699 in monastery of Hovhannavank (in the present-day Armenia). His writings dealt with the socioeconomic history of the Ottoman Empire in the second half of the 17th century and describe the wars between the Sefevids and the Ottomans in Armenia and Mesopotamia. His manuscripts are kept in Yerevan, in the Matenadaran Archives. Sarkawagi’s writings were published in 1870, Zakaria Sarkawagi patmagrut’iwn (Chronicle).Khronika, translated by M. Darbinian-Melikian (Moscow, 1969) was the Russian translation based on all available manuscripts.
Mikhail Gershtein, the foremost UFO researcher in Russia today, has mentioned two works of Sarkawagi that contain fascinating descriptions of UFOs (Mikhail Gerstein, Po tu storonu NLO, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 2002). He referred to the article published in the extremely popular Soviet magazine Tekhnika-Molodyozhi (Issue 6, 1991), where a number of articles about UFOs, ancient astronaut hypothesis, and paranormal phenomena had been published by its audacious editors during the scant, less ideologically rigid periods of the Soviet era.
The article, titled Kamennaya letopis’ vtorzheniy was written by Akop Tonakanyan, the Chairman of the Ufology Commission of Yerevan, and Vadim Orlov, the science writer for Tekhnika-Molodyozhi. It mentioned two manuscripts of Zakaria Sarkawagi.
One was titled Regarding the fall of light from the sky, and the other manuscript was titled About heavenly signs in the sky.
The first one contains description of a phenomenon that Zakaria Sarkawagi observed in 1641.
In the day the cross was erected, he wrote, during the sunset, it was not dark yet, and the daylight continued. Suddenly, the ether on the eastern side exploded, and descending was a large and blue light. Wide and long, it descended to approach the Earth, and its light illuminated everything around, brighter than the Sun. And the front part of the light rotated like a wheel, moving to the north, red and white (sic), and in front of the light, at the distance of an open palm (of a hand-P.S.) was a star, the size of Venus. My father sand, crying, six sharakans*; the light was still visible, but later departed and became invisible, and we heard later that this wonderful light was observed in Akhaltsikhe *.
In the other manuscript, About heavenly signs in the sky, Zakaria Sarkawagi described a mysterious phenomenon from 1679.
One night everyone saw in the air something (that looked like-P.S.) like a staff and spear. The ends were like those of a lance. They began to turn gradually east and west. This lasted for 20 days, and then quickly disappeared. After that a star appeared; a very large one, of yellow color, with long and bulky hair that pointed to the west. And the hair radiated and like sparks fell on the ground. This lasted for a month and two days. (The star-P.S)Never moved from the spot, was visible sometimes in the evening, sometimes in the morning, and sometimes at night, but later would disappear.

Perhaps there are more observations about the mysterious spear-shaped UFOs scattered throughout ancient manuscripts.
*Sharakan is the name of a remarkable body of Armenian liturgical songs dating back as far as medieval times; the songs are remarkable not just for their antiquity, but for their exquisite, often heartrending melodies. Sharakan is sung for about two or three minutes, hence, the phenomenon lasted about fifteen minutes.
*Akhaltsikhe is a small city in southwestern Georgia. In 1628 the city became the center of Ahiska Province of the Ottoman Empire. Today, the city is populated by Georgians, Armenians, Jews, Muslims, and Russians.

A new study asserts that the Milky Way is home to one hundred million planets that could support alien life. And not just simple microbial life, but complex alien life.
A scientific team comprised of Louis Irwin from the University of Texas at El Paso, Alberto Fairén from Cornell University, Abel Méndez from the Planetary Habitability Laboratory at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo, and Dirk Schulze-Makuch from Washington State University evaluated the expanding list of confirmed exoplanets (currently at 1,792), then evaluated the density, temperature, substrate, chemistry, distance from its parent star, and age of each planet. The team used this information to compute a Biological Complexity Index (BCI), rating these planets on a scale of 0 to 1.0 according to characteristics assumed to be important for supporting multicellular life.

Professor Schulze-Makuch explained on Air & Space Magazine‘s website:
The BCI calculation revealed that 1 to 2 percent of known exoplanets showed a BCI rating higher than Jupiter’s moon Europa, which has a subsurface global ocean that may be hospitable to life. Based on an estimate of 10 billion stars in the Milky Way, and assuming an average of one planet per star, this yields the figure of 100 million. Some scientists believe the number could be 10 times higher.
Schulze-Makuch is also careful to point out that the study does not claim that complex life definitively exists on one hundred million planets. It only points out that the necessary conditions to support that life could exist on that many planets.

The team’s research was published in the journal Challenges in a paper titled “Assessing the Possibility of Biological Complexity on Other Worlds, with an Estimate of the Occurrence of Complex Life in the Milky Way Galaxy.”

An Alabama witness eastbound along I-20 nearing the 205 exit reported stopping her vehicle to watch a silent, triangle-shaped UFO “as large as a football field” moving slowly at the tree top level that terrified her and appeared to cause missing time, according to May 29, 2014, testimony in Case 56669 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The incident began sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. on January 20, 2014, as the witness was on I-20 heading toward Georgia with an 18-wheeler about a mile or two behind her.

“About a mile to a mile and-a-half before I reached the 205 exit between Heflin and Ranburne, Alabama, I topped the hill and far in the distance on my right side I saw the most extreme, bright, white lights lighting up the entire side of the road and pasture,” the witness stated. “I was very confused as to what I was looking at.”
The witness first thought she was looking at a police search team possibly responding to a traffic accident.
“But then I realized that I didn’t see any emergency police or fire department colored lights and it was extremely quiet. I began to slow my speed as I approached closer and then I noticed the lights that were shinning straight through the tree line onto the interstate had not only risen to above the tree line, but had also turned from pointing toward the road to pointing toward the ground.”
The witness then completely stopped her vehicle along the interstate, but checked out the roadway for her safety.
“I looked in the rear-view mirror to see where the 18-wheeler truck was in relationship to my car because I wanted to make sure that I was wasn’t going to get hit and also I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t the only person who was seeing this. The 18-wheeler had also come to a stop about one mile behind me and had his cab door open and he also had not pulled off the interstate.”
The witness then turned her attention back to the lights and noticed that they were at the tree top level and the lights were pointing toward the ground.
“The next thing I knew it was completely dark. I then was very confused and began looking about the sky for anything that could have done this.”
The witness then realized that the lights were attached to a very large, triangle-shaped object.
“Still very confused and extremely scarred, I noticed a huge, huge, triangular-shaped object that had rounded edges where the point of a triangle would be. There was no sound at all and no lights on this object were seen now. This object remained about tree top tall as it passed over my car heading northwest.”
The silent object was very large.
“This object was as large as a football field if not larger. And was about 50 to 60 feet thick. I could clearly see the pattern on the bottom and the sides of this object.”

The witness became terrified of her position at this point and looked again for the 18-wheeler.
“I sat at a full stop in the middle of the interstate feeling completely terrified and violated and again looked behind me to check and see if there was any other traffic that the was going to hit me. The truck was nowhere to be seen and he was only about one mile behind me and was stopped with his door open only moments before. He couldn’t have made an exit off the interstate because the 205 exit in front of me was the only exit off the interstate for a few miles. This left me dazed and confused.”
The witness then realized she had experienced missing time.
“I realized that I had time missing from when I saw the object in the field about tree top tall with its lights on and when it was coming over my car without any lights on. When I finally pulled myself back together and began to drive slowly home I realized that the time was now 4:12 a.m.”
The witness described herself as a professional with no problems that would account for the incident.
“I am 47 years old and I am an RN with almost 30 years experience working as a nurse in the ER, ICU, and Dialysis.”
Alabama MUFON is investigating. Alabama has a current UFO Alert Rating of 5 with a low number of recent reports nationally. Alabama had 10 UFO reports in April 2014 – the 20th highest reporting state – while California had 80 reports – the highest reporting state in the nation. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

A friend sent me this image…was taken on a mountain called Ajusco, south of Mexico City in 2007.
They spent a weekend camping….but they preferred to return because “something” was observing them one night.
He told me that they saw 2 eyes on the dark forest….but one of the eyes has a vertical movement and the other not. They had a flash light and got closer to the “eyes”, when they saw a big shadow but the flashlight cannot illuminate it. They decide to go back to camp, pack everything and return to the city.
So they took the photo to remember that night. Wasn’t until my friend saw the image on his computer that he realized that “something” was behind one of them. He told me that the guy in the yellow jacket heard the noise of branches breaking, that’s why his head was turned looking to other side.

When I was in 5th grade, I was a pretty popular kid, well liked, and I liked it that way. Before class started, a fellow student brought in a book on witchcraft. He said that there was a page with an incantation and if you say it three times, the devil will appear. Nobody would read it because they were scared, and to be honest, so was I, but I wanted to stay popular so I said I would read it. The gist of it was (as far as I can recall) a prayer to the devil… saying that he was the one true god and that I give my soul to him, etc. On the third time through reading it, I physically felt something pass through my body. It was like my breath was taken away for a split second, I got those cold chills… you know the ones I’m talking about… and I felt faint. I stopped mid-sentence and the kids freaked out. They said they saw something happen to me. My hair blew like a fan was on but there wasn’t. They said that I was still for like two minutes not talking or responding to them. When it was over, I opened my eyes to see the kids in my class with wide eyes and their jaws open asking me if I was okay. I closed the book and told them what I felt, and they said they believed me because of how I was acting. I have never been one for believing in the supernatural, but when I feel myself starting to doubt, I remember back to that day when I was a stupid 5th grader who may have inadvertently sold my soul to the devil for a little popularity. I am Catholic and every time I go to confession, I ask for forgiveness from that, and I try to be a good man, hoping that when my time comes, I don’t find myself on the wrong side of the fence. I have thought that maybe it wasn’t the devil that passed through me, but rather an angel… protecting me and also scaring me straight by passing through me, in a way saying “uh-uh-uhhhh…. don’t do that…” But either way, the story is true, and I will always carry that question with me… did I sell my soul to the devil when I was in 5th grade? – Reddit.com
A passenger on a commercial flight over the English capital this week caught something unusual on camera.
Photographs of UFOs taken from aircraft tend to be some of the most convincing and this latest case is no exception. The images were captured on camera by a passenger flying over London just four days ago on the morning of May 25th.
The object appears to be flying above the cloudline and resembles a dark-colored disc or cigar-shaped craft with lights on either side. The series of photographs show it flying upwards and off in to the distance towards the right.
The sighting has been generating a great deal of interest since appearing online. Some viewers have suggested that it could be the top of a tall building peeking out through the clouds, however the subsequent shots of the craft moving upwards seem to discount this possibility.
After the disappearance of two goats, evidence of attacks on his cows and some mysterious late-night howls, James Newton believes he has found the culprit — the chupacabra, a creature many experts don’t believe exists.
Newton, who owns a farm with his wife, Vanessa, on Dixie Road, had been noticing unusual happenings since taking over the land more than a year ago, including the unexplained loss of two goats in December, and discovering his cows with bloody ears that he believes were evidence of a creature trying to bite the animals.
On Monday morning, Newton said his wife alerted him to what she described as “the ugliest animal you’d ever seen” behind their house.
The creature, which they believe may have been killed by the couple’s German shepherd, was 2-feet long, had short, dark gray hair, a long thin tail, protruding teeth and — according to Newton — an uncanny resemblance to a creature popularly known as a chupacabra.
“I looked it up on the Internet before I called anyone, and sure enough, if you look it up online, you’ll see this looks exactly like the chupacabras people have been spotting,” Newton said. “On the Internet, a man actually shot one on his porch.”
“Chupacabra” is a Spanish word that literally translates to “goat sucker.” Reports of the creature can be traced back to Puerto Rico in 1994, when eight sheep were reportedly attacked and drained of blood. Since 1994, a consensus has been formed on how the creature supposedly looks among those who have claimed to have caught the creature in the act.
The most common features used to describe the chupacabra are dark skin, little to no hair, a long, thin tail and protruding canines.
“What they do is they grab a hold of them and suck the blood out of them,” Newton said. “Every time they find ‘em, the bodies of animals they’ve attacked, they have the blood sucked out of them. This one man had 100 chickens and it just sucked the blood out of every one of his chickens … All it has to do is latch on to an animal and hold on. Now, a goat can be up to 200 pounds. If one of these things can take down a goat, then taking down a full-grown man wouldn’t be a problem. ”
While there have been a number of cases in which people have found an animal, dead or alive, that they believe to be a chupacabra, skeptics have been quick to dismiss these discoveries as dogs, coyotes or some other kind of animal suffering from mange.
In the case of Newton’s chupacabra, both Dr. Curt Locklear of Lumberton’s Southeastern Veterinary Hospital and Tommy Rains, wildlife damage control agent with Cape Fear Wildlife Control, seem to agree, from only viewing photographs, that the body is likely that of a raccoon.
“That is definitely a raccoon, but one that had been under a lot of stress,” Rains said. “Skin disease and malnourishment can make it look like that. It does look a lot like the pictures of a chupacabra though.”
Rains added that in his 16 years of working as a wildlife damage control agent, this was the first time he had been asked to identify a chupacabra. Both Locklear and Rains warn that a raccoon that sickly may have been infected with rabies and have suggested that Newton have his dog checked for the virus. More than a dozen cases of rabies were reported during an outbreak of the disease in Robeson County last year.
“I think that chupacabras may exist, I am not saying they don’t,” Rains said. “Just that I have skinned a lot of raccoons over the years and after you skin an animal, it becomes much easier to recognize the way their body and bones are shaped.”
Newton remains convinced.
“See, it has hair on its back, but no hair on the legs,” Newton said. “I thought it was a ‘coon, but a ‘coon ain’t that color. They have white around their eyes, and he’s got tan color up there.”
Newton and his wife said they will be keeping an eye out for any other chupacabras and keeping a close watch on their four dogs.
“I had never seen anything like that,” Vanessa Newton said. “It is scary to see something that looks like that, and the way I see it, if there is one, then there is another one.” – Your Daily Journal
At the Mihai Kogalniceanu military airport, north of Constanta, several supersonic fighter aircraft pilots of the Aviation Group 57 had witnessed an unidentified aerospace phenomenon. The event took place probably in the second half of March 1989 (there are differences in the timing remembered). Between the hours of 15.00 and 21.00, the unit, consisting then of 18-20 pilots, executed a shooting exercise in two sets: day flight and night flight. “At one point, it was announced that the training flights were halted, although weather conditions were excellent and the visibility was very good” said one witness. At around 21.20, the pilots were stripped of their equipment. Some of them, including the Commander and the Colonel Platon Streja, flight inspector in the Air Force Command in Bucharest, delegate to attend and participate in flights that week, were in the “alarm cell”, a room located in a building, planning the next flight, scheduled over two days. The other pilots were talking on a bench outside this building. The technicians were preparing the aircrafts for parking at night. The sky was “glass clear”, and the visibility perfect. Colonel (ret.) Aurelian Dobre remembers: I was talking with some fellow pilots before the ‘cell’. I was facing the take off terminal. At one point, I saw many lights, appearing actually above the trees. I immediately entered the ‘cell’ to warn those who were inside. When I went out, the lights were already on top of us.” Colonel (ret.) Paul Otelea, commander of the second group, then flying a MIG -23, says:”At one point our colleague Aurelian Dobre entered, calling us: Come out quickly!” We went all; we looked in the sky and saw a triangular sections train at an equal distance between them, bathed in white light silver matte, strong but without giving light around. [... ] They moved from south to north. I appreciate that they were at an angle of about 20-25 degrees and about 7,000 meters high. Along with the passing over him, he heard “a noise that resembled very well with the rustle of a flock of birds in flight over the forest at night. I knew it from childhood, when I was wandering the woods”. “From the first moment I saw them until they disappeared, several tens of seconds passed, then the lights faded out towards Ukraine”. He adds that it is a great mystery the lack of “sonic bang” shock wave. Colonel (ret.) Dan Aioanei, who at the time was flying a MIG-29, says: “From Medgidia, a formation of 7, 8 or 9 flowing objects were approaching. They looked like neon tubing, several kilometers long each, and were thus positioned relative to one another that form a “V”. From the distance, the tubes seem to have a diameter of 15-20 cm, so in reality they have 2-3 meters. Travel speed must have been at least supersonic. They were flying very high, at an altitude of over 3,000 m but may be well over 10,000 meters. Even for us, acquainted with the sky, was hard to estimate, because the reference points, i.e. clouds, were missing. As pilots, we know what shape, texture, dynamics have the clouds, depending on the altitude at which they are. The formation left no trace behind, no light, no trail. The “tubes” have disappeared from the horizon, somewhere east of Tulcea. In 1989, the Group 57 of Air Force, now disbanded, was among the highest rated in Europe in terms of professionalism of the pilots and endowment of the unit. The pilots who witnessed the event were both well qualified and trained to distinguish an airplane, helicopter, balloon, flock of birds, or satellite from whatever.
Exclusive: Found after 500 years, the wreck of Christopher Columbus’s flagship the Santa Maria
Shipwreck found off coast of Haiti thought to be one of the most significant underwater discoveries in history
More than five centuries after Christopher Columbus’s flagship, the Santa Maria, was wrecked in the Caribbean, archaeological investigators think they may have discovered the vessel’s long-lost remains – lying at the bottom of the sea off the north coast of Haiti. It’s likely to be one of the world’s most important underwater archaeological discoveries.
“All the geographical, underwater topography and archaeological evidence strongly suggests that this wreck is Columbus’ famous flagship, the Santa Maria,” said the leader of a recent reconnaissance expedition to the site, one of America’s top underwater archaeological investigators, Barry Clifford.
“The Haitian government has been extremely helpful – and we now need to continue working with them to carry out a detailed archaeological excavation of the wreck,” he said.
So far, Mr Clifford’s team has carried out purely non-invasive survey work at the site – measuring and photographing it.
Tentatively identifying the wreck as the Santa Maria has been made possible by quite separate discoveries made by other archaeologists in 2003 suggesting the probable location of Columbus’ fort relatively nearby. Armed with this new information about the location of the fort, Clifford was able to use data in Christopher Columbus’ diary to work out where the wreck should be.
An expedition, mounted by his team a decade ago, had already found and photographed the wreck – but had not, at that stage, realized its probable identity.
It’s a current re-examination of underwater photographs from that initial survey (carried out back in 2003), combined with data from recent reconnaissance dives on the site (carried out by Clifford’s team earlier this month), that have allowed Clifford to tentatively identify the wreck as that of the Santa Maria.
The evidence so far is substantial. It is the right location in terms of how Christopher Columbus, writing in his diary, described the wreck in relation to his fort.
The site is also an exact match in terms of historical knowledge about the underwater topography associated with the loss of the Santa Maria. The local currents are also consistent with what is known historically about the way the vessel drifted immediately prior to its demise.

Using marine magnetometers, side-scan sonar equipment and divers, Mr. Clifford’s team has, over several years, investigated more than 400 seabed anomalies off the north coast of Haiti and has narrowed the search for the Santa Maria down to the tiny area where the wreck, which the team thinks may well be Columbus’ lost vessel, has been found.

A re-examination of the photographic evidence taken during the 2003 initial survey of the site by Mr. Clifford and his son Brandon has also provided evidence which is consistent with the vessel being from Columbus’ era - including a probable early cannon of exactly the type known to have been on-board the Santa Maria.
When Clifford and his team returned to the site earlier this month, their intention was to definitively identify the cannon and other surface artefacts that had been photographed back in 2003. But tragically all the key visible diagnostic objects including the cannon had been looted by illicit raiders.
“We’ve informed the Haitian government of our discovery – and we are looking forward to working with them and other Haitian colleagues to ensure that the site is fully protected and preserved. It will be a wonderful opportunity to work with the Haitian authorities to preserve the evidence and artefacts of the ship that changed the world,” said Mr. Clifford.
“I am confident that a full excavation of the wreck will yield the first ever detailed marine archaeological evidence of Columbus’ discovery of America.”

“Ideally, if excavations go well and depending on the state of preservation of any buried timber, it may ultimately be possible to lift any surviving remains of the vessel, fully conserve them and then put them on permanent public exhibition in a museum in Haiti.
“I believe that, treated in this way, the wreck has the potential to play a major role in helping to further develop Haiti’s tourism industry in the future,” he said.
Mr Clifford, who discussed the wreck site with the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly last year, is one of the world’s most experienced explorers of underwater archaeological sites. He has carried out survey work on dozens of historic wrecks in different parts of the world over the past four decades – and was the discoverer and excavator of the world’s first fully verified pirate shipwreck, the Whydah, back in 1984, and more recently discovered Captain Kidd’s flagship off Madagascar.
The Santa Maria was built at some stage in the second half of the 15 century in northern Spain’s Basque Country. In 1492, Columbus hired the ship and sailed in it from southern Spain’s Atlantic coast via the Canary Islands in search of a new western route to Asia.
After 37 days, Columbus reached the Bahamas – but, just over ten weeks later, his flagship, the Santa Maria, with Columbus on board, drifted at night onto a reef off the northern coast of Haiti and had to be abandoned. Then, in a native village nearby, Columbus began building his first fort – and, a week later, leaving many of his men behind in the fort, he used his two remaining vessels to sail back to Spain in order to report his discovery of what he perceived as a new westerly route to Asia to his royal patrons - King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain.
A leading American maritime archaeologist, Professor Charles Beeker of Indiana University, who accompanied Mr Clifford’s recent reconnaissance expedition to Haiti and who also carried out an underwater visual assessment of the site, says that it “warrants a detailed scientific investigation to obtain diagnostic artefacts”.
“There is some very compelling evidence from the 2003 photographs of the site and from the recent reconnaissance dives that this wreck may well be the Santa Maria,”
“But an excavation will be necessary in order to find more evidence and confirm that,” said Professor Beeker who is Director of the University of Indiana’s Office of Underwater Science.
The investigation into the wreck is being supported by the American TV network, the History channel, which has secured the exclusive rights toproduce a major television programme on the subject.
"Inside the Skunk Works, we were a small, intensively cohesive group consisting of about fifty veteran engineers and designers, and a hundred or so expert machinists and shop workers. Our forte was building technologically advanced airplanes of small number and of high class for highly secret missions."
"We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects, and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity. Anything you can imagine, we already know how to do it."
"We now have technology to take ET home. No it won't take someone's lifetime to do it. There is an error in the equations. We know what it is. We now have the capability to travel to the stars. First, you have to understand that we will not get to the stars using chemical propulsion. Second, we have to devise a new propulsion technology. What we have to do is find out where Einstein wentwrong."
"When Rich was asked how UFO propulsion worked, he said, 'Let me ask you. How does ESP work?' The questioner responded with 'All points in time and space are connected?' Rich then said, 'That's how it works!' "
According to xenophilius.wordpress.com, the legendary Lockheed engineer and close friend of Ben Rich, the late John Andrews, confirmed a conversation with Rich in which the Skunk Works director said:
Another Skunk Works engineer, Don Phillips, has publicly said UFOs are real and that he and other Skunk Works members were doing "back-engineering" on recovered crashed UFO materials and devices to develop cutting-edge aeronautical technology. According to xenophilius.wordpress.com, Phillips said: "When I was working at the Skunk Works with Kelly Johnson, we signed an agreement with the government to keep very quiet about this. Anti-gravitational research was going on. We know that there were some captured craft from 1947 in Roswell, they were real. And yes, we really did put them to work. We knew each other from what we call an unseen industry. We can term it black, deep black, or hidden.
"The knowledge I have of these technologies came from here. I didn't see the craft, nor did I see the bodies but I certainly know some of the people that did. If the testimony of the Skunk Works engineers is valid, humankind faces the greatest discovery in history — the existence of non-human, intelligent, off-planet Earth life forms with stellar propulsion capabilities. Thus, this meeting of cosmic cultures will inevitably affect every segment of civilization, including religion, politics, science, technology, education and agriculture — in short, the complete spectrum of human life will be challenged by the confirmation of a greater reality.
Surely these accounts of UFO/alien technology — and what they portend for the future — by highly respected engineers Phillips, Andrews and Rich are deserving of further professional investigative reporting. Perhaps a University of Missouri journalism alum or a current MU J-School student will accept the challenge. Who knows? There might be a Pulitzer Prize in the offing.

Stanford Physicist: We Have Physical Evidence Of UFOs!
Peter Sturrock is an emeritus professor of applied physics at Stanford University and one of the very few scientists who has publicly expressed a great deal of interest in UFOs and acted on that interest by twice surveying colleagues on the subject which resulted in some very surprising findings. He is also unambiguous on one particular category of UFO evidence which he happens to know a little bit about . . . . radar reports.
"Yes - radar is physical evidence," Sturrock stated in an email exchange he was generous enough to grant me.
Professor Sturrock's involvement with radar dates back to World War II. While studying mathematics at Cambridge University, he interrupted his studies to help in the war effort and joined the Telecommunications Research Establishment in 1942, now known as the Royal Radar Establishment, where he helped develop radar systems.
Skeptics commenting on the UFO phenomenon often claim that a major problem with UFOs is the only evidence are witness sightings, claim they are unreliable and cite a lack of physical evidence. While that is often the case, there are notable exceptions where physical evidence does exist in the form of radar reports and they corroborate the accounts of multiple credible witnesses. There have been a number of famous UFO cases that have involved radar reports and two of the most famous contemporary incidents are the JAL Alaska case from 1986 and the Stephenville, Texas sightings of 2008.
On November 17, 1986, a Japan Air Lines 747 cargo jet, piloted by Captain Kenju Terauchi, was flying westward near Mt. McKinley when he spotted a UFO. "Then there was a kind of reverse thrust, and the lights became dazzlingly bright. Our cockpit lit up. The thing was flying as if there was no such thing as gravity. It sped up, then stopped, then flew at our speed, in our direction, so that to us it looked like it was standing still. The next instant it changed course. There's no way a jumbo could fly like that. If we tried, it'd break apart in mid-air. In other words, the flying object had overcome gravity," Terauchi said.
Terauchi and his crew had the sighting but John Callahan, the FAA Division Chief of the Accidents and Investigations branch, had the data. The radar report covered more than a half hour. Callahan states in the following video interview, "As far as I'm concerned, I saw a UFO chase a Japanese 747 across the sky for over half an hour on radar."
He goes on to say that members of President Reagan’s Scientific Study Team, the FBI and the CIA he met with about the incident expressed excitement at the data.
The Stephenville, Texas case of January 2008 featured dozens of residents of the Texas town and its' surroundings sighting UFOs. Some reported aircraft the size of a football field and larger. Freedom Of Information Act requests were quickly sent to the FAA, National Weather Service and local Air Force bases by radar expert Glen Schulze and Robert Powell, MUFON Director of Research seeking radar data for January 8.
In their summary, Schulze and Powell wrote, "The enormous size of the object, its' complete silence and its' ability to travel at high rates of speed and to also remain stationary or travel at slow speeds is not explained by any known aircraft. Based on approximate distance of the object and witness descriptions of degrees of sky covered by the object indicated an object closer to 1000 feet in size. Twice, radar picked up an unknown object flying at 1900-2100 mph."

I also asked Professor Sturrock if he had a favorite UFO case and he replied, "The Coyne helicopter case." On October 18, 1973, the four-man crew of an Army Reserve helicopter heading towards Cleveland from Columbus had an otherworldly encounter with a UFO at about 10:30 PM as they were flying near Mansfield, Ohio.
Not surprisingly, skeptic Phil Klass attempted to explain the case away but the credibility of the witnesses involved and the detail of their reports render his explanation implausible.

Finally, I asked the professor about his own research into UFOs. In 1973, Professor Sturrock distibuted two questionaires, one to members of the San Francisco chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the other to members of the American Astronomical Society.
The AIAA survey results indicated that "a sample of scientifically trained persons reports aerial phenomena similar to so-called "UFO reports," and the AAS survey revealed that "a small fraction (of order 5%) are likely to report varied and puzzling observations, not unlike so-called "UFO reports" made by the general public," according to the professor.
He also noted that, "if you want to find out whether scientists see UFOs you must ask them, and you probably must guarantee them anonymity. Scientists have no doubt been discouraged from taking the problem seriously by the bizarre nature of some of the reports and emphasis upon the "extraterrestrial hypothesis" (ETH)."

Specifically, I asked Professor Sturrock about his opinion on expanding future queries to include social scientists like historians, sociologists and psychologists, professionals who I thought might also have some interest in and be able to contribute to the UFO field.
"I would encourage similar surveys of other professions. Then the results could be compared," he replied.
