Oudste man ter wereld (111): “Ik ben gekust door een geest”
De oudste man ter wereld, die de invasie van de nazi’s in Polen overleefde door naar Rusland te vluchten, is afgelopen zondag in zijn appartement in New York overleden. Alexander Imich was 111 jaar.
I brought my nephew camping because his father was not really involved with him and the kid needed a positive influence in his life. I camped on the pipeline because it has a nice view and was accessible with my 2wd truck. It’s far enough off the beaten path to get a sense of really camping. I had to go around a metal gate to get access to the pipeline. It is posted. I found a flat area that had a nice view of the valley. It was pretty cold, 20-30 degrees F and a perfect starlit night with no snow. I prefer winter camping, crisp air and no bugs. I set up the bags in the back of the truck and we collected some firewood to make a fire. Pretty sure I made a fire pit. We were sitting around the fire for a couple of hours I guess. It was possibly 10pm – 12am, not sure. I had no watch. I remember seeing what I thought was a helicopter probably a mile down the pipeline with a bright search light on. First thing I thought was, “Oh s**t, we’re bagged for trespassing”. I didn’t make an effort to run because I didn’t see the point. After about 10 minutes, I noticed that the helicopter was getting closer but wasn’t making any sound. Where we were was dead silence. No traffic, just the sound of a slight breeze through the branches. I was perplexed to say the least. The craft, I now noticed, maybe ¼ mile away wasn’t a helicopter, but a black triangular craft with a dull white light on each corner and a searchlight was centered or slightly to the front and seemed fixed and a fairly narrow beam. Being in the Air Force I have a pretty decent knowledge of flight characteristics of fixed wing and rotary aircraft. Now I was a little freaked. All types of possible explanations were racing through my head trying to justify what I was seeing and how this craft was moving, hot air balloon, ultra light, but nothing fit. When the craft was about 1/8th mile away, the search light turned off and it moved sideways to the left behind the trees. I was thinking, “That is insane”. I thought that was it. I was wrong. I guess about 2 minutes later it came right over the trees where we were and was just hovering there. No sound whatsoever. Nothing. I could see its outline perfectly because of all the stars. It was a slightly elongated triangle about the size of a passenger bus. The dim lights on each corner were sill lit but very dim. The searchlight was off. I could see the branches of the trees swaying slightly but only the sound of the breeze through the branches. I can`t remember any sound at all from the craft. I remember I had a Glock handgun in the truck and was thinking about getting it. I can’t really explain what happened next other than I had a feeling of complete calm come over me. The next thing I remember is waking up in the back of my truck. My nephew was in his bag. I was in mine. I was freezing and had to urinate really badly. I got out of the truck. The fire was out and I noticed about half mile down the pipeline the craft with its searchlight back on slowly following the pipeline on the opposite side of the road. I finished up, got back in my bag and fell asleep. We woke in the morning and didn’t say much about it. My nephew still thinking it was a hot air balloon. He was about (5-7) at the time. To this day I try to remember what happened in that time and it’s like it’s been erased from my memory. NOTE: The above image is a rendering.
A colorful UFO was recorded on video by a group of young people in the city of La Serena in northern Chile.

The video was recorded at the La Serena beachfront promenade La Avenida del Mar, a location popular with tourists. As Chilean news site El Observatodo describes, the UFO video shows a small yellow light moving in the sky at different speeds and quickly changing altitude. And, according to UFO Digest, one of the witnesses can be heard in the video stating that the UFO lands in an empty lot on the beach before ascending again.
The aerial object displays multiple colors as it zips through the sky, flying directly over the heads of the witnesses.

This nimble light in the sky is fun to watch. But this UFO likely has a very terrestrial identification. The multi-colored lights and the movement of the object are consistent with a remote-controlled craft like a quadcopter.
MessageToEagle.com -This curious metal artifact has been studied by scientists who determined it to be 300-million-year-old.
The baffling object appears to be a part of some ancient machinery.
Who left this object on the Earth when the first land animals had yet to evolve into dinosaurs?
Did ancient aliens leave a 300-million-year-old aluminum gear on Earth? The material found in the object, particularly the 2 per cent magnesium, prompted speculations that the object could not have been of Earthly origin. The thought-provoking artifact was discovered in Vladivostok, Russia.
While lighting the fire during a cold winter evening a man named Dmitry, a resident of Vladivostok found a piece of a gear shift, a common machine part which was pressed in one of the pieces of coal that the man used to heat his home.
Scientists suggest that the object was not created by nature but was rather manufactured by someone.
A curious artifact discovered in Vladivostok, Russia has baffled scientists.
The question of who might have made an aluminum gear in the dawn of time remains unanswered.
We have previously seen there are other artifacts that strongly challenge the evolutionary scenario.
In in 1889, workers in southwest Idaho discovered the Nampa figurine, an artifact skillfully formed in clay that has baffled scientists for many years.
In 1885, an iron smelter working in the foundry of the Austrian Isador Braun of Vocklabruck, Austria, discovered a small, cube-shaped piece of iron embedded in a block of coal dating to the Tertiary period lasting from approximately 65.5 million to 2.6 million years ago.
In 1851, an object that resembled a silver-zinc vase inlaid with fine silver in the form of the vine was discovered embedded within 15 feet of solid sedimentary rock. The age of this vase, according to the rock in which it found supposedly millions of years old.
In fact, there are so many such baffling discoveries and there is no doubt they have all undermined the most fundamental doctrines of modern science.
The machine-like object discovered in Vladivostok is yet another discovery which perplexed the scientists.
According to Voice of Russia, "the coal in which the metal object was pressed was delivered to Primorye from Chernogorodskiy mines of Khakasia region. Knowing that the coal deposits of this region date 300 million years back, Russian experts inferred that the metal detail found in these deposits must be an age-mate of the coal.
When geologists broke the piece of coal in which the metal object was pressed into and spot-treated in with special chemical agents, it turned out that the metal detail was unusually light and soft. No more than seven centimeters long, the object was found to be composed of 98 percent aluminum and 2 percent magnesium.
On the one hand, such an alloy stalled the scientists because nearly pure aluminum is very rarely found in nature. Thus, the detail was most definitely created artificially.
On the other hand, however, when it became clear that the object was made from aluminum-magnesium alloy the experts quickly found an answer to the question of how a metal detail could withstand the ravages of time so well.
The scientists explained that pure aluminum is increasingly prone to oxidization which contributes to the creation of a special layer protecting it from further corrosion. As a result, the metal detail made 98 percent from aluminum can endure not only high pressure but also heat and other severe natural conditions.
Another question that interests Russian scientists is whether the aluminum alloy is of Earthly origin.
It is known from the study of meteorites that there exists extra-terrestrial aluminum-26 which subsequently breaks down to magnesium-26.
The presence of 2 percent of magnesium in the alloy might well point to the alien origin of the aluminum detail.
Nonetheless, further testing is needed to confirm this hypothesis.
The last property of the object that puzzled the scientists was its distinctive shape which was reminiscent of a modern tooth-wheel. It is hard to imagine that an object could take regular shape of a tooth-wheel with six identical 'teeth' naturally.
Moreover, the intervals between the 'teeth' of the gear are curiously large in relation to the size of the 'teeth' themselves which might mean that the detail was a part of a complicated mechanism. Nowadays, such 'spare parts' are used in construction of microscopes and other mechanical appliances.
This poses yet another unanswerable question to the modern scientists: how can the metal tooth-wheel be 300 million years old if the regular-shaped 'wheel' itself was created by man millions of years later."
Russian scientists say they will run further tests to learn more about this perplexing ancient artifact.
The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) posted a UFO photo of the week recently that was taken in Kentucky in 2009. It shows an odd object in the sky that the witness says looked completely different when viewed with the naked eye.
The witness says that on September 5, 2009 around 7:40 pm he was sitting outside on a picnic table when he and his wife witnessed what appeared to be a sphere shaped cloud about 50 feet in diameter. They say it was traveling across the sky behind five “large black birds.” However, the witness says the wings of the birds did not appear to move, and furthermore, their wingspan appeared to be 16 feet wide. He says their torsos were slender and long for their size.
The witness says the cloud seemed to move over a ridge and then drop down closer to the ground after it cleared it. They then lost sight of all of the objects when they traveled in front of the dark background of the ridge.
About 30 seconds later the black cloud reappeared. His wife grabbed the camera to take pictures and when the flash of the camera went off, the cloud seemed to change direction. She took a second picture, but the cloud was already gone by then.

They were shocked when they reviewed the first picture and instead of the cloud they saw there were two objects in the sky. One of them had a strange shape the witness describes as a “3 sided bell shaped craft with a dome shape bottom.” He estimates the object to be 12 feet wide and 16 feet high.
Second picture taken by the witnesses. The object is gone. (Credit: MUFON)
The movement and characteristics described do not fit birds and clouds. Although, the object captured on camera could be a very strange cloud. The witness said they captured two objects in the picture. However, I can only make out one. But the one they got is very strange.

The witnesses reported that they live in Pathfork, which is about 90 miles northeast of Knoxville, TN. (Credit: Google Maps)
I was outside sitting at my picnic table late that evening. When I noticed a strange black cloud about 50 foot in diameter and shaped like a sphere came up over a low ridge line about half a mile away. This cloud was traveling south and following 5 very large black birds that never moved their wings..just glided along. The birds had a wing span of about 16 feet and slender long bodies for their size.
At first I thought the small black cloud was a puff of smoke coming from the strip mine after blasting the hill side or smoke from a large piece of heavy equipment up on a higher ridge behind the lower ridge.
The black cloud seemed to drift along and dropped down lower after clearing the top of the smaller ridge.
This black cloud was about 60 feet above the black birds trailing behind them and was following their direction toward me on a downward path until I lost sight of them and the cloud against the dark background of the ridge. 30 seconds went by until the black cloud reappeared closer to us. I told my wife to grab the camera to take pictures of this strange cloud while I watched were it is going. I never saw the 5 strange black birds after I lost sight of them, just only the black cloud.
My wife got the camera and as soon as she took the picture the flash of the camera caused the black cloud to immediately changed direction and sped off at an incredible speed. My wife took a second picture as fast as she could but did not get the black cloud in the second one. Once we looked at the pictures on the digital camera we were shocked that exactly where the black cloud should have been was this strange craft with another even larger craft higher up that was traveling in the same direction that was not visible to us. In the pictures I estimated that the craft was 12 feet in diameter at its base and 16 feet high 3 sided bell shaped craft with a dome shape bottom.
It is a strange picture indeed. Do you see birds, a strange cloud, or something else? Let us know below.
Remove me from you list. Your e-mails are ridiculous and offensive. We are all volunteers. If anyone is financing MUFON it is news to me. We have never received any funding for the investigations that we have done in NC. I have to pay for all my expenses.
Glad to remove you from the list. A few questions though.
As a Public Relations Director for MUFON – maybe you can tell me why the only scientifically proven, still ongoing UFO contact case (more than 72 years) isn’t the top priority of MUFON? Why haven’t MUFON and you been using your PR department to announce to the world that the most important true story in all of human history, ongoing contact with an extraterrestrial human race, is occurring?
Is there something else that you’re waiting for, or that’s more important, in all of MUFON’s 45 years history?
While I won’t hold my breath waiting for answers, I consider no answers to be clear answers as well.

The first American sea serpent sighting took place off the coast of New England near Cape Ann, Massachusetts in 1639. The creature would eventually become known as “Gloucester’s Sea Serpent,” named after the harbor just north of Boston.
The harbor of Gloucester, Massachusetts is located just north of Boston on the lower part of Cape Ann which juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Gloucester has always been a seafaring town. Its harbor is well protected from Atlantic storms, making it a destination for ships hauling cargo. In the 17th century fish abounded off the coast ready to caught by enterprising and brave men willing to go to the sea in boats. If any group of people should have known the sea and local inhabitants, it should have been the fishermen and sailors of Gloucester.
“They told me of a sea serpent, or snake, that lay quoiled up like a cable upon the rock at Cape Ann; a boat passing by with English on board, and two Indians, they would have shot the serpent, but the Indians dissuaded them, saying that if he were not killed outright, they would all be in danger of their lives.”
Three years later, Obadiah Turner reported a similar incident near Lynn, Massachusetts, where he allegedly saw a serpent as wide as a wine pipe and around 27 meters (90 ft) in length:
Some being on ye great beache gathering of calms and seaweed wch had been cast thereon by ye mightie storm did spy a most wonderful serpent a shorte way off from ye shore. He was big round in ye thickest part as a wine pipe; and they do affirm that he was fifteen fathoms [90 feet] or more in length. A most wonderful tale. But ye witnesses be credible, and it would be of no account to them to tell an untrue tale. Wee have likewise heard yt Cape Ann ye people have seene a monster like unto this, whch did there come out of ye land mch to ye terror of them yt did see him.
While sporadic sightings continued through the 17th and 18th centuries, the serpent had become a seasonal phenomenon by the early 1800s, much like today’s “lake monsters.”
General David Humphreys, a former member of George Washington's staff, traveled down to Gloucester to interviewwitnesses. According to the testimony he gathered, the creature's head, which it held above the water, was:
"much like the head of a turtle... and larger than the head on any dog. From its head there rose a prong or spear about twelve inches in height, and six inches in circumference at the bottom, and running to a small point."
In a compilation of sightings printed in the Boston Weekly Messenger it was further reported that the creature was sixty to seventy feet in length, that it was about as wide as a barrel, that it moved rapidly in a serpentine fashion, that it was able to double back upon itself instantaneously, that it was:
"full of joints and resemble[d] a string of buoys on a net, and that all attempts to kill or capture it, including shooting a musket at it from close range, failed."
In August of 1817 when two women claimed they had seen the creature swimming into the harbor. The same sea-serpent was seen at almost the same time by the Captain of a coasting vessel. A few days later Mrs. Amous Story said she saw what appeared to be a tree trunk washed up on the rocks of Ten Pound Island which lies in the harbor. As she watched it through a telescope, it moved and when she looked again, it was gone. William Row reported seeing a creature saying "its head was as broad as a horse or more so, but not quite as long." The same day Amos Story also saw the creature:
It was between the hours of twelve and one o'clock when I first saw him, and he continued in sight for an hour and a half. I was setting on the shore, and was about twenty rods from him when he was the nearest to me. His head appeared shaped mach like that of the sea turtle, and he carried his head from ten to twelve inches above the surface of the water. His head at that distance appeared larger than the head of any dog I ever saw. From the back of his head to the next part of him that was visible, I should judge to be three or four feet. He moved very rapidly through the water, I should say a mile or two or, at most, in three minutes. I saw no bunches on his back. On this day, I did not see more than ten or twelve feet of his body.
Two days later on August 12th Shipmaster Solomon Allen III saw the Gloucester sea serpent:
His head formed something like the head of a rattlesnake, but nearly as large as the head of horse. When he moved on the surface of the water his motion was slow, at times playing in circles, and sometimes moving straight forward.
The creature was even shot at two days later by ship's carpenter Matthew Gaffney from a boat:
I had a good gun, and took good aim. I aimed at his head, and I think I must of hit him. He turned toward us immediately after I had fired, and I thought he was coming at us; but he sunk down and went directly under our boat, and made his appearance at about one hundred yards from where he sunk...
Gaffney also mentions the motion of the creature through the water was "vertical, like a caterpillar."
There were eighteen separate sightings that same year. Observers noted that the creature swam with a vertical motion and his body appeared as "humps" behind him. This report was from Cheever Felch aboard the United States schooner Science:
His colour is dark brown with white under his throat. His size we could not accurately ascertain, but his head is about three feet in circumference, flat and much smaller than his body. We did not see his tail; but from the end of the head to the farthest protuberance was not far from one hundred feet. I speak with a degree of certainty, behing much accustomed to measure and estimate distances and length. I counted fourteen bunches on his back, the first one say ten or twelve feet from this head, and the others about seven feet apart. They decreased in size towards the tail. These bunches were sometimes counted with and sometimes without a glass. Mr. Malborne counted thirteen, Mr. Blake thirteen and fourteen, and the boatman the same number...His motion was partly vertical and partly horizontal, like that of fresh water snakes. I have been much acquainted with snakes in our interior waters. His motion was the same.
In many of the Gloucester reports, though, observers first felt they were viewing something quite normal, but then changed their minds when they got closer. For example, this report by John Brown, published in 1817:
...I discovered something about three or four miles distant, about two points on the weather bow, which appeared as a mast, as it rose and sunk in a perpendicular manner, once in about eight or ten minutes. I kept the vessel directly for it, and after look at it with my glass, I observed to my mate that i was a wreck, as I could see timbers &c.. sticking up, but as we approached nearer, I found what appeared like timbers to be a number of porpoises and black fish playing and jumping around a large Sea-Serpent, which we had supposed to be the mast.
So what was the Sea Serpent of Gloucester? Most such reports are attributed to simple misidentification. Dolphins leaping in single file might look like a series of humps. The sixteen-foot-long elephant seal might look like a sea monster to someone unfamiliar with the giant seal.
In 1817, the Linnean Society of New England performed one of the first scientific investigations of a sea serpent, providing a list of carefully chosen questions to eyewitnesses in an attempt to discover the creature’s true nature. They concluded that a dead snake which had been found on the coast of Cape Ann was the creature’s progeny and named it Scioliophis atlanticus because of the scalloped shape of its back. Rather than a new species, the snake turned out to be a common black snake with a deformation.
However, the society's pamphlet met with ridicule, and inspired the production of numerous fake accounts of the creature. The account was particularly ridiculed in the South, where it inspired the Charleston playwright, William Crafts, to compose a play titled The Sea Serpent; or, Gloucester Hoax: a Dramatic jeu d'esprit in Three Acts. The premise of this play was that the serpent was a hoax, designed to promote the reputation of the town of Gloucester.
Others, however, took the reports of the creature seriously. Jacob Bigelow composed an essay about the creature for Benjamin Silliman's prestigious The American Journal of Science and Arts Interest in sea serpents reached an even greater pitch in America when there were mass sightings of a serpent off the coast of Nahant in 1819.
The most recent reported sighting of the serpent (or one of its offspring) took place in 1962, off the coast of Marshfield, Massachusetts. Sadly, author of The Great New England Sea Serpent: An Account of Unknown Creatures Sighted by Many Respectable Persons Between 1638 and the Present Day J.P. O’Neill, has speculated that centuries of over-fishing off of New England may well have caused the creatures to migrate away from the Gloucester bay area in search of more fertile feeding grounds. Others believe that the change from sail to diesel may have forced the serpents to steering clear of common fishing regions in order to avoid the noise and pollution of modern fishing vessels.

NASA's real life Enterprise may take us to other star systems one day
NASA's real life Enterprise may take us to other star systems one day
Dr. Harold "Sonny" White is still working on a warp drive at NASA's Johnson Space Center. His work is still in the experimental stage but that doesn't mean he can't imagine what the real life Enterprise ship would look like according to his math.
You're looking at it right now.

This is the starship that may take us where no human has gone before. And it has me screaming like a little Klingon girl.

Concept 3D artist Mark Rademaker told io9 that "he worked with White to create the updated model, which includes a sleek ship nestled at the center of two enormous rings, which create the warp bubble."
The updated model is the one you can see above, a variation of the original concept which, according to Dr. White, was rendered by Rademaker based on an idea by Matthew Jeffries, the guy who came with "the familiar Star Trek look." This is the original warp drive spaceship concept:
SExpand
Dr. White—whose daily life is working in future propulsion solutions for interplanetary travel in the near future, like ion and plasma thrusters—developed new theoretical work that solved the problems of the Alcubierre Drive concept, a theory that allowed faster-than-light travel based on Einstein's field equations in general relativity, developed by theoretical physicist Miguel Alcubierre.
A spaceship equipped with a warp drive would allow faster-than-light travel by bending the space around it, making distances shorter. At the local level, however, the spaceship wouldn't be moving faster than light. Therefore, warp drive travel doesn't violate the first Einstein commandment: Thou shall not travel faster than light.
Here's more views of the IXS Enterprise during its construction phase, the concept that Dr. White developed with Rademaker:
You can watch the fascinating talk that Dr. White gave at the SpaceVision 2013 conference here:
But Interstellar is just science fiction. Dr. White's work at the Advanced Propulsion Theme Lead for the NASA Engineering Directorate is science. And while his department only gets peanuts compared to NASA's budget (not to talk about the Pentagon's) I find his words comforting:
Perhaps a Star Trek experience within our lifetime is not such a remote possibility.
See, Dr. White and his colleagues aren't making a movie or coming up with 3D renders for the sake of it. They just don't just believe a real life warp drive is theoretically possible; they've already started the work to create one:
Working at NASA Eagleworks—a skunkworks operation deep at NASA's Johnson Space Center—Dr. White's team is trying to find proof of those loopholes. They have "initiated an interferometer test bed that will try to generate and detect a microscopic instance of a little warp bubble" using an instrument called the White-Juday Warp Field Interferometer.
It may sound like a small thing now, but the implications of the research huge. In his own words:
Although this is just a tiny instance of the phenomena, it will be existence proof for the idea of perturbing space time-a "Chicago pile" moment, as it were. Recall that December of 1942 saw the first demonstration of a controlled nuclear reaction that generated a whopping half watt. This existence proof was followed by the activation of a ~ four megawatt reactor in November of 1943. Existence proof for the practical application of a scientific idea can be a tipping point for technology development.
The roadmap to the warp drive
According to Dr. White, this is a roadmap that they need to follow to achieve that final objective of rapid interstellar travel. He explains this roadmap in the video above.

If his work is successful, he says that we would be able to create an engine that will get us to Alpha Centauri "in two weeks as measured by clocks here on Earth." The time will be the same in the spaceship and on Earth, he claims, and there will not be "tidal forces inside the bubble, no undue issues, and the proper acceleration is zero. When you turn the field on, everybody doesn't go slamming against the bulkhead, which would be a very short and sad trip."
Every time I read that paragraph I smile—and these renders just make my smile so wide it looks stupid.
As an abductee for my whole life, I have stumbled through unknowing, to suspicion, and then resistance, and counsel to offer rare insights and advice to detect and thwart alien soul and body tampering.
Published widely and recognized as an eloquent note in the chorus of barbaric yawps concerning experts who've never seen or confronted these myriad entities, personally for 45 years, I write, do radio interviews and assist filmakers with background research.
At night, your astral body travels to realms from angelic to demonic, spirit worlds of myriad vibrational levels and the pictures that you see on the backs of your eyelids, while you R.E.M., are not dreams but visits, souvenirs of a greater reality.
Like goldfish who never suspect a greater world beyond the pond's surface, the limited awareness of humankind floats beneath the surface of a greater reality, groping, mouths agape in fish ignorance.
Aliens hybridize, and invade astrally to abduct, monitor, and possess, to entangle their energies with ours to ride the reincarnation roller coaster of our auras giving a new meaning to a silent invasion.
Earth is under invasion, one person at a time.
These are my experiences, echoed in a link, at the end of the page of this journal entry.
I felt electric vibrations throughout my whole body while in bed and saw my body then separate and float out of my body, in astral abductions of my spiritual essence, which retained all of my predilections and discriminations, all the while leaving my chop-meat-DNA- contrived- body, bereft of spirit, behind, in bed.
At first glance, I believed that I had died!
Out of body, I had conveyor belt travels, vivid OBE sublime and terrifying experiences, at the hands of aliens, directly tied to my previously monitored thoughts, more proof of that alien-proprietary- monitored-consciousness, suffered by abductees.
I am a fifty year old happily married father of two extraordinary teens.
I am one who writes, landscapes, crafts his own ales, hunts mushrooms, breeds native giant silk moths, plays bass and drums and teaches.
My wife and I have been friends and lovers for over twenty years, and she supports my hobbies and writing with a skeptical and cautious approach which has helped to keep me centered.
I have seen different subspecies of alien entities since I was a young child living on Shore Road in Brooklyn until my later years as a resident of Long Island, and I am convinced that many others have also struggled to assess and grasp similar indigestible alien experiences which challenge everything we've ever been taught.
Abductions and their remnant elusive memories have opened all this for me, a confirmed atheist, UNTIL I saw aliens float me out of my body, in my bed, at night.
Then, I knew that they were more interested in an essence, that I never suspected I had: a soul.
Nick Redfern’s latest book, subtitled “Suspicious Deaths, Mysterious Murders, and Bizarre Disappearances in UFO History” provides an in depth look at the underbelly of the UFO phenomenon – the history of devilish deeds and felonies of a kind that are almost unimaginable, except they are actual possibilities in most cases and true in all the rest.
Nick Redfern is no slouch when it comes to ferreting out the truth of things; in this case the odd circumstances that underlie UFO events that ufological devotees think they know.
Nick’s 223 page exposé of deaths that have a definite link to the UFO phenomenon and its significant events (or sightings) shows what a real researcher or historian does or is meant to do when examining a portion of human activity – in this case the UFO milieu
There are 18 Chapters, with titles such as this:
From Melting Man to Maury Islan
The Victims of Roswell
Zapped by a UFO
The Microwave Incident
A Deadly Disk in the Desert
Another Adamski and Another Death
Star Wars of the Deadly Kind
A Killer Curse and a Deadly Date
The opening chapter deals with the Maury Island incident of 1947 which is replete with events weirder than any murder mystery: the death of two military men (sent to gather facts and “debris” from a sightings that involved Kenneth Arnold and his near-death) and threats of death to witnesses of a bizarre UFO sighting.
The Victims of Roswell chapter contains information that even obsessed Roswellians have not known or have ignored.
Zapped by a UFO recounts the infamous 1948 Mantell sighting and death with a slant that will make theorists, such as Kevin Randle, livid, as the Skyhook (balloon) explanation seems able to be set aside.
The “suicide” of Secretary of Defense James Forrestal in 1949 is recounted, with information that few know.
Mysterious “heart attacks” of UFO notables, including Blue Book’s Edward Ruppelt, are enumerated.
The CIA’s secret mind-manipulation efforts are detailed, especially the dastardly MKULTRA project(s).
The Tentacles of the Octopus chapter [17] provides a “Six Degrees of Separation” delineation of UFO events and persons related to UFO events that will startle even the most well-read aficionado of UFO lore.
If you want to know what lurks in the nooks and crannies of UFO stories and events you think you know, you have to get this book.
If you pretend to be a UFO maven, you need to get this book.
If you’re a ufological wannabe, you have to have this book in your library
Buying the book won’t make Nick Redfern a wealthy man but it will encourage him and other serious researchers and UFO historians to continue to unearth vital elements in the UFO saga, elements that may eventually explain what UFOs are.
Nick’s book shows how persons intermingled with the phenomenon have often ended up.
It’s not a pretty sight, but it is an intriguing insight into the furtive underside of a phenomenon that has made some do things that are not nice, not by a long shot.
The book is published by New Page Books, a Division of Career Press, Inc., Pompton Plains, NJ. [2014] and sells for $15.99 (paperback).
It can be had from Amazon or Anomalist online and at your favorite brick and mortar bookstore.
(I’m getting a few copies for my UFO compatriots. They’ll be thankful, I’m sure.
Texas witnesses from the same small town reported hovering UFOs near the ground level just six days apart this week.
A Texas witness at Lindale reported a triangle-shaped UFO hovering over a bridge off I-20 about 10:50 p.m. on June 10, 2014, according to testimony in Case 56993 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was driving home when he noticed the hovering object.

“It would get very bright and then fade out and the light would almost disappear and then it would get bright again,” the witness stated.
The witness described the object.
“The object was a glowing yellow at first and then the closer I got the more details I could see. I witnessed the object hover and I clearly saw a triangle, almost crescent-like object hovering with yellow lights surrounding the exterior getting brighter and fading.”
Then the object began to move.
“The object hovered and then slowly descended behind a row of trees and it was out of my sight. It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before and it left me with chills and my heart racing after the incident.”
Texas investigators are also looking at a second report – Case 56970 – that occurred at 2:30 a.m. on June 4, 2014, that also occurred in Lindale involving an object hovering at the tree top level.
The witness was driving along I-20 in Lindale, TX, when the hovering object was noticed near the roadway. Pictured: A bridge area along I-20 in Lindale. (Credit: Google)
The witness was outside on a patio when she noticed a “yellow-orange light” in the sky.
“It kind of looked like it was outlined in red and moving lower in the sky,” the witness stated. “I turned my phone off because the screen was too bright and I wanted to see this light better. At first, I thought it was a star but quickly realized it wasn’t. It was maybe 100 feet in the air and descending in a sort of curved 45-degree angle moving at a slow rate of speed.”
The object eventually reached the tree top level.
“Once it got to the tree top it slowed almost to a stop, but looked as if it was bobbing up and down like floating on water. Then it moved to the right, and then back to the left. Then it started descending very slowly. At this point, it’s behind the tree but I can still see it. It gave me the impression that it was ‘busy’ doing something, like it was there for a purpose.”
The object then appeared to move to the ground level.
“It would hover and bob up and down and continue to descend. I watched it until it was so low that my back yard fence was in the way of me seeing it anymore. I was able to see it until it was about 8 feet off the ground. Also, where this light is hovering, there are houses right by the tree it’s behind and there was a dog barking in that area. “
The witness did not attempt to capture the object on a photo because she believed her phone would not pick up the object well.
“I can’t quit thinking about what I saw. I remember I was scared and I wanted to wake my husband up so he could see it too but he was out of town. I told him about it when he got home.”

Lindale is a city in Smith County, TX, population 5,024. Texas has a current UFO Alert Rating of 3 with a high number of recent reports nationally. Texas had 30 UFO reports in May 2014 – the 4th highest reporting state – while California had 102 reports as the highest reporting state. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.
The UFO Alert Rating System is based on five levels – 1 through 5 – where states with 150 or more reports for the month are rated an Alert 1; states with 100 or more reports are rated an Alert 2; 25 reports or more for the month are rated an Alert 3; 13 or more reports are rated an Alert 4; and those states with less than 13 reports for the month are an Alert 5.
Hungarian-born Harry Houdini (nee Ehrich Weiss) was the world’s greatest conjurer of magick, performing deeds beyond human comprehension. But he wasn’t in any way, shape, or form a believer in the paranormal. His tricks were all cunningly designed, and his body was trained to withstand rigors that would make a Navy SEAL squeal “momma!”
Houdini lived in an age when Spiritualism ran rampant. He battled mediums in court, because he could easily see through the tricks they used to fool the gullible. After all, Harry probably invented a couple of them. He duplicated the medium’s act, debunking them in the witness box and on public stages.
In fact, he was an original member of the Scientific American committee that offered a cash prize to any medium who could successfully contact the dead. No one has ever collected on the dare.
His friendship with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ended in a bitter breakup because of their opposing views on Spirituality. Doyle was a great supporter of spooks interacting with the material plane; the Great Houdini thought contacting the spirit world was just pure hokum.
Oddly, Harry debunked a seance that Doyle attended so well that Sir Arthur though Houdini himself wasn’t exposing, but channeling, the supernatural. You just can’t win.
On Halloween, October 31, 1926, Harry Houdini joined the netherworld spirits he had spent so much effort fighting, dying of a ruptured appendix. He was buried in a coffin he used in his show for one of his bits of derring-do.
Houdini was interred in the Machpelah Cemetery in Queens, New York, with the crest of the Society of American Magicians inscribed on his gravestone. To this day, the Society holds its “Broken Wand” ceremony at his resting place every Halloween, the anniversary of his passing.
But the great escape artist, despite his skepticism, had one more trick up his sleeve. Before his death, he set up a code that he’d contact his wife Bess with if he could somehow wriggle through the wall separating the living from the dead. She would pass the same code on to him if she died first.
Partially, he hit upon the idea because he never passed on a challenge. But practically, Houdini came up with the encryption so that Spiritualists couldn’t claim to have made contact with their great nemesis once he was on the other side and couldn’t defend himself in this earthly vale.
The cypher was based on an old vaudeville trick and something that only he and Bess would know. The message was, “Rosabelle-answer-tell-pray, answer-look-tell-answer, answer-tell”. Sounds kinda mysterious, but for an old show biz couple, it was simplicity exemplified.
The inside of Bess’ wedding band was engraved with “Rosabelle”, the name of a popular song she sang in her act when they first met. The other words represented an alphabetic code used by the magician and his assistants to pass asides without the audience knowing. In stage shorthand, the rest of the message spelled out “Believe.”
Bess Houdini held annual seances on Halloween for ten years after Houdini’s death, but Houdini never showed. Oh, once a Reverend Ford claimed to be in contact with Houdini and his mom, code and all, but it ended up that Bess had inadvertently let the message slip to newspaper writers the year before.
In 1936, after a last unsuccessful seance on the roof of the Knickerbocker Hotel, she put out the candle that she had kept burning beside a photograph of Houdini since his death, later saying “ten years is long enough to wait for any man.”
Then again…at the moment she snuffed out the candle, a violent thunderstorm broke out overhead, with boomers, lightning, and a torrential downpour. They would later learn that the cloudburst didn’t occur anywhere else in Hollywood, just above the Hotel. Was it a freak storm or did he show up after all?
Anyway, the tradition of holding a seance for Houdini continues by magicians throughout the world to this day.
The yearly Houdini Seances are most notably held at the Houdini Museum in Scranton by magician Dorothy Dietrich, who had sat for them at New York’s famous Magic Towne House. Bess had asked Walter Gibson to carry on the tradition after her fruitless decade, and before Gibson died he asked Dietrich to continue the mystic circle after him.
And yes, the seances have joined the modern age of internet magick. The museum is asking that serious channelers (“no kooks, please,” it requests of participants) try to contact Harry and e-mail the results to the museum.
A web seance…we think it’s time to let the Great Houdini get some rest. Maybe he finally got himself into one spot where he can’t escape. But then again…
Some say that the shade of Houdini roams where his old Laurel Canyon home once stood. Those that pay a visit on Halloween claim to see a dark figure standing on the spectral staircases or walking in the garden grotto.
Many believe that this shadowy shape is that of Harry Houdini himself. The magician always said that if it would be possible for him to come back, he would. Maybe he has. – Reader submission
Maybe this isn’t the right place to post this, since it’s more like a dream, but I’ve been thinking a lot about an experience that happened to me a few months ago and don’t really have anyone to talk to about it.
I was asleep and dreaming. There was nothing unusual about the dream. I was cooking pasta on the stove in a woman’s kitchen, but she wasn’t home, so I tried to hurry up. I’m boiling water and a pretty blonde woman appeared and said it was okay to use her stove. It’s just some nonsense dream, until she stops and stares at me and looks at me with intense concern and says, “Here. Let me get it out of you,” and raises her hand toward me, as if to remove something from my hair.
I wake up and I’m staring at the ceiling. In between my body and the ceiling is this black ink-like mist that is symmetrical, like an inkblot. It’s morphing and hovering there. It’s completely non-human… Just a lively intricate design. I bolt up straight in my bed and scream bloody murder at it. It vanishes.
I was terrified but that fear went right to anger and my first instinct to protect myself was to shriek at it. I woke the whole damn house up that night. I used to have night terrors as a kid, so my mom thought nothing of me screaming, which is a little troubling, but whatever.
What are your thoughts? Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Did some nice lady remove this crazy looking thing from me? I wonder how many other blobs are in there. – Reddit.com
Inside the international scientific community, cryptozoology – the study of animals whose existence has not been recognized yet by zoologists – is seen as a futile hobby for naive and romantic people.
However, the simple consideration that just about 250 years ago the classified animal species amounted approximately to one thousand, should lead to a more conservative and less dogmatic approach, not forgetting that still nowadays new species are being discovered every year.
The purpose of this article is to analyze evidence and testimony concerning some peculiar animals and then, in the second part, examine reports about the alleged presence of strange beings that do not seem to be mere animals. Continue reading at OpenMindsTV

Memphis Daily Appeal, March 30, 1875 pg 1. The article reads,
“The recent high waters in East Tennessee has unearthed Indian bones in many places and the Kingston Tennessean thus speaks of discoveries in Roane county: On Long Island, a skeleton was exposed which was adjudged to have been a brave of some eight or ten feet in height, which throws Captain McElwee’s mound-builder quite in the shade. In Colonel Center’s bottom, a short distance from town, where formerly stood an …Indian mound, numerous skeletons were also exposed, near which were found many articles common among Indians, such as stone hatchets, rude unshapen beads made out of pebbles, flint arrow heads, pipes, portions of earthen vessels, etc., which according to tradition, it was customary to bury with their dead for use when they reached the happy hunting ground. Mr. J. M. Denning has gathered a number of the reminiscence of the past and has had many visitors to view them.”
Captain W. E. McElwee was a prominent lawyer in Roane County Tennessee. The following is part of his bio from the History of Tennessee and Tennesseans by William Thomas Hale 1913 pg 2451.
“One of the oldest members of the Roane county bar, to which he was admitted in 1860, but now for many years retired, Captain McElwee has had the career typical of much that has been beast in the lives of Tennesseans, during the last half century-as soldiers, lawyers, successful business men and always a man of influence and the highest integrity of personal character.”
The article is suggesting that McElwee had previously unearthed a rather large skeleton. He did indeed unearth several skeletons from a burial mound in Tennessee but I could not find any measurements in the historical literature. The moral to the story is once again that these are burial mound human skeletal finds with human artifacts. These are real people (often prominent and well respected), real places and the historical events are often reported by respected historians in town and county histories. Smithsonian agents also unearthed a seven and a half foot skeleton in Roane County Tennessee, as listed in the 12th annual report of 1890-1891.
Onondaga: Reminiscences of earlier and later times by Joshua Victor Hopkins Clark, 1849 pg 83. The following is reported,
“Near the west bank of the creek, was an extensive Indian burying-ground, where skeletons have frequently been disinterred and are occasionally to this day-two having been exhumed during the past year. At the time the wet locks were constructed at Syracuse, in 1819, over one hundred were taken up. In excavating the canal for the red mill, on the east bank… of the creek, several skeletons were found. In 1843, one of extraordinary size was disinterred; one of the lower bones of the leg being set beside the limb of a tall man, reached far above his knee. The skull was comparatively large and the jaws were surrounded with a full set of double teeth, all around, They were perfectly sound, covered with a beautiful enamel of the most perfect whiteness.”
Reports obscurely buried in all manner of scientific and historical document, from all around the country, over decades of time, in an era of inefficient communication, reporting the same anatomic anomalies, does it make sense that this is not a reality? Sorry about the run on sentence but isn’t it obvious to the non-conflicted mind. These over 1000 accounts are not part of an anthropological curriculum in college. Quite to the contrary they are entirely absent from the text books although they constitute sober observational reports of ancient skeletal remains. While not done with the expertise of today’s scientist they are nevertheless the first skeletal accounts and descriptions of the ancient races of America. You would think physical anthropologists would be very interested in this information and quickly be able to make the connections and understand the profound nature of the material. Instead, anthropologists and archaeologists are all taught that to speak of giant skeletons is career suicide, on par with unicorns and dragons. The Cardiff giant story is beaten to death and mastodon remains are the supposed reason for the confusion. The disturbingly racist beginnings of anthropology in this country are not highlighted and all the anomalies in the field of anthropology are not encouraged to be looked at. Here we are left, where common sense would tell anyone that something is out of whack and more investigation is needed but professionals literally refuse to give it look.
In Kuban village Trinity everyone is talking about the visit of unknown creatures. Some believe that at night in the barn appears cast, others are convinced that it’s aliens, and local ufologist called guest plasmoid.
Several nights in lens surveillance camera installed on the facade of the warehouse, gets something glowing and floating in the air. People are afraid to leave the house at night and speculated.
Tatiana White, local resident: “Have you seen the cartoon about Casper? It was something gel, air, rose up and sank. “
Tatiana works as a watchman and a mysterious object encountered in the workplace. The woman says that someone sought out like a ghost and looked curiously at the camera surveillance. She ran outside to investigate, but during this time the ghost allegedly illegally penetrated her workplace.
Tatiana White: “We have already disabled heating pipes banging. Someone rummaging in a trash bin, although we have mice. “
The incident immediately watchman told neighbors, but those were not surprised. As it turned out, this phenomenon or an intruder, they also met more than once.
Andrew Kudryakov, a local resident: “We somehow the guys noticed the glow, even glow and some object. I do not know what it is. Decided to stop to come, and when approached, all vanished like a mist. “
Soon luminous object began to appear not only on the stock, but also on the streets. Residents of the village divided into two camps. Some even have no doubt that it was a ghost, others believe that the so-called phantom – the usual firefox, though larger sizes. Excited residents volunteered to help Kuban ufologist. He carefully examined the record and put forward a very different version.
Yuri Stroganov, ufologist “This is not an insect, apparently, this is not some technical thing. This can be called a plasmoid. Plasmoids recorded TV, video and fotopparaturoy, the human eye can not see them. “
In the village in the near future will come a special group of ufologists. They promise to install sensors, the so-called trap ghosts to clarify the origin of the mysterious stranger. Meanwhile Tatiana White, not waiting studies, just in case gave recording cameras to the police…
Buddhist master describes UFO sighting in 1884…Hsu Yun (aka Xu-Yun), famous Chan Buddhist monk, recounts a UFO sighting from 1884 in his autobiography.
Last week we received an email from Sanjin Đumišić, a Swedish writer, photographer, intermedia composer and editor-in-chief for the Swedish music site AlltFörMusik.se. He wanted us to check out his blog entry about a cool discovery he made while reading the autobiography of a famous Chan Buddhist.
Chan is often described as …Chinese Zen Buddhism, of which Hsu Yun was one of the most influential Buddhist masters. He is believed to have lived for 119 years. He was born in 1840, and died in 1959. Online you can find a pictorial biography of the life on Master Hsu Yun, and also his autobiography, titled Empty Cloud (the UFO sighting is on pages 47 and 48 of this pdf).
Sanjin was surprised to discover a passage recounting Hsu Yun’s visit to Da-luo Peak in 1884, where he went to pay respects to the “wisdom lamps.” Hsu Yun writes:
I climbed the Da-luo Peak, where I paid reverence to the ‘wisdom lamps’ said to appear there. I saw nothing the first night but on the second, I saw a great ball of light flying from the Northern to the Central Peak, where it came down, splitting a short while later into over ten balls of different sizes. The same night, I saw on the Central Peak three balls of light flying up and down in the air and on the Northern Peak, four balls of light which varied in size.
Wisdom-LightsThis story can also be found in the pictorial biography and reads: The Master bowed to the Wisdom Lamps on top of Ta Lo Mountain. People often came to this spot to witness what fortune they might. At first there was nothing unusual, but then they all appeared: Large ones, small ones, and in between – each fireball was unique.
Hsu Yun has two Buddhist orders named after him, and although he is so famous, I could not find any more information about the “wisdom lights.” However, the area where he saw them does now have a Buddhist temple.
Sanjin was surprised to come across this UFO reference in an unrelated book. He writes in his blog, “There must be so much more of these observations hidden in books you don’t expect to find any UFO references.”
Users of Twitter reported having seen a UFO in the vicinity of Mexico's Popocatepetl Volcano on Monday morning. In recent days, the government of that country has reported an increase in the stratovolcano's activity, recording up to 430 emanations in 24 hours with outbursts of incandescent material.
Following a photograph of volcanic activity this morning by @webcamsdemexico, taken from the popular SkyAlert, Twitter users higlighted the presence of an unusual dark spot in the images.
The video displays the strange phenomenon over the volcano.
