A grand anomaly has recently been detected on the lunar surface, and it strongly resembles the entrance to a hollow place, inside the Moon.
On December 21, 1968, NASA’s Apollo 8 mission took flight towards Earth’s natural satellite – the Moon. The event marked a historic moment for humanity, as it carried the first humans out of Earth’s orbit, and into the Moon’s. The mission, led by Commander Frank Borman, Command Module pilot James Lovell, and Lunar Module Pilot William Anders, became the first human mission to see and also photograph the far side of the Moon.
A total of 2908 pictures were taken using a 70 mm camera installed on the Lunar Orbiter, and surprisingly or not, several anomalies came into picture. After they orbited the Moon ten times over the course of 20 hours, the crew took a final shot of the dark side of the ‘natural satellite’ that we never get to see. In it, a massive triangular structure was clearly visible on the surface, and after the images were made public by NASA, a heated debate has taken over the UFO community.
The assumptions of what the peculiar anomaly on the lunar surface is, are extremely varied. The Image in itself is full of mystery and controversy because the appearance doesn’t fit into any rational explanation or criteria, and besides, it covers a substantial area of the Moon. So what can this mysterious sighting be? Could it be just a camera glitch, or is it rather the real reason why the Apollo 8 crew stopped taking any other shots, thus ending the mission without revealing anymore insight of what was really happening there?
I will not go into calling this remarkable appearance a mothership or UFO because it clearly resembles some kind of structure. Some UFO analysts consider it to be a three dimensional object found on the surface because it allegedly leaves a slight shadow over the area, and that would only lead us to an alien spacecraft assumption, which I don’t really think to be the case.
Although a presumed fleet of UFOs has recently been detected near the far side of the Moon, the chances for such a massive craft to pop-up during the Apollo 8 mission are unlikely, because aliens wouldn’t just disclose their presence in such an obvious manner. Instead, the photo could reveal an actual entrance leading inside the Moon, proving that our ‘natural satellite’ isn’t so natural after all.
In recent years, UFO hunters have gained lots of skills because of the advanced tools they now have at their disposal. Mr. Crow of YouTube, together with other vigilant watchers, have filmed a bizarre phenomenon which they called ‘the lunar wave.’ According to their research, the Moon could be nothing more but a holographic projection that’s hiding the ‘main stage’ where extraterrestrials (or the military) are operating undisturbed. I know this cannot explain things such as the tidal movement, but the lunar wave surprised by numerous UFO hunters is sure to raise many of questions.
Another plausible explanation refers to the anomalous ‘structure’ as a ‘moon door,’ or a passage leading inside the inner depths of the moon. You are probably familiar with the ‘Hollow Earth’ notion, but what if the Moon is hollow as well?
SECRET MOON ENTRANCE
Scott Waring from ufosightingsdaily has an interesting point of view on this, which he expressed on his blog:
“This is what happens when you get too close to Earth’s moon. This is a giant opening into our moon. On far left side of it you see a wall that rises several miles. What happened here is that the camera was so close to the moon that the holographic cloak now had glitches,” Waring wrote.
“What I mean is that cameras usually take photos according to its shutter speed. This speed can be charged, but todays cameras can take speed up to 1/1000 sec. Other photos show it gone. So this glitch in their cloak was so fast that the human eye could not even notice it, but technology did, and it recorded it too,” he added.
“So this Apollo 8 camera probably had a speed of only 1/200 sec or so, but that was enough to record the glitch in our moon. It’s there, we can see from the detail that this is not a mistake, but it’s really built into the moon’s surface. This is excellent proof that the moon is an artificial structure,” Waring concluded.
Although he doesn’t make any direct reference to the lunar wave, he highlights another possibility of the Moon being an artificial structure. There is proof of NASA bombing the far side of the moon in 2009, and the Chinese government also revealed controversial photos of structures found on the lunar surface that strongly resemble mining facilities. It’s unclear what exactly they have found there, but there is an undeniable interest in the Moon.
If we destroyed an alien outpost located on the Moon, or if the secret entrance leading inside the hoGrappig of schattigllow moon has been photographed by the unaware Apollo 8 astronauts we can only speculate, but the intense activity aiming at the moon in recent years has shown the open-minded people that something really strange is going on up there.

Many artifacts essential for understanding life’s cycle on Earth and the link between the human species and extraterrestrials have been buried under a thick layer of rubble by constant wars that have been waging almost endlessly.
Such an example is the gigantic stone head discovered “somewhere in the jungle of Guatemala”. The head statue had very fine features: thin lips, a large sharp nose, leaving an overall feeling of fineness, its eyes were closed, but if they were open, they would be looking towards the sky. It measured at least 30 feet, judging by the three men sitting on top of the head and the car parked in front of it. A unique discovery indeed, as it resembled nothing found in Central America so far.
On August 16, 1986, Dr. Oscar Rafael Padilla Lara, a UFO enthusiast, philosopher, and lawyer at that time, received an intriguing photo of the monolith. Its precise location remained undisclosed, with the only known references being the date inscribed on the back of the photo. It was taken in 1950 by the man who owned the land where the colossal stone head was found, but since the landowner was declared dead long ago, Padila had to search for another way to find the exact location of the site.
In 1987, the story of the bizarre stone head was first printed in the Ancient Astronaut Society newsletter “Ancient Skies”, and it caused quite a stir. People wanted to learn if the structure was only a head, or it had a body buried underneath; also, the question of its exact location reappeared after a long time. Fortunately, the article was read by David Hatcher Childress, an adventurous archaeologist who visited various mysteries across the globe, detailing them all in his “Mystery Travel books.”
This “Indiana Jones” made it his goal to find the site of the mysterious stone sculpture, so he met with Padilla from whom he requested additional information regarding the location of the anomalous sculpture.
At first, Padilla spoke of a relative who analyzed the photo of the mysterious sculpture and succeeded in finding a hint leading to one of the many properties owned by the Biener family. With no other leads available at that time, he enrolled in a dangerous and uncertain journey that led him deep inside the jungles of Guatemala in the hope of finding the intricate stone head.
“In order to find it, I went approximately 180 kilometers from the city, towards Las Victorias, Los Encuentros, Saint Filipe Retalhuleu, on the pacific coast of Guatemala. From there, I followed a main road for 5 kilometers, then 3 kilometers more on a road of battered earth and finally 5 kilometers on foot, through the jungle.”
When he finally reached the site of La Democracia, the excitement turned to anguish because the statue was lying there full of bullet holes, with its fine features almost unrecognizable.
“It was destroyed by revolutionaries about ten years ago,” Padilla revealed. “We had located the statue too late. It was used as target practice by anti-government rebels. This totally disfigured it, sort of like the way the Sphinx in Egypt had its nose shot off by the Turks, only worse.”
After Padilla recovered from the shocking moment, he took additional notes of what was left of the monument that could had our history rewritten. The eyes, nose and mouth were completely gone. The statue was carved from soft sandstone, probably for highlighting its delicate traits, but due to this soft material, its fate was easily concealed for eternity.
Eventually, David Hatcher Childress reached the La Democracia site only to find the stone head in ruins, just like Dr. Padilla depicted. After this unfortunate episode, the story died because there was no relevant proof left to confirm the existence of the alien-like stone head from the photo.
In order to understand the uniqueness of the statue, one must look towards the region where the stone head was reported to have been found – La Democracia, a site already renowned for stone heads looking skyward.
Their history is known however – built by the Olmec civilization, which thrived between 1400 and 400 BC, the stone heads sitting near the town of La Democracia share no common traits with “Padilla’s stone head”. The twelve Olmec statues depict pot-bellied human figures with flat faces looking towards the sky. They have a common Olmec aspect, a style completely that’s completely different from the fine-sculpted Padilla stone head.
The ancient Olmec civilization predated the Maya and is believed to be the first to build pyramids in Mesoamerica. Knowing that the Olmec had the means to carve such statues, is it possible that they were also responsible for the anomalous stone head? If not, who were their builders?
A theory supported by Phillip Coppens, a Belgian author and radio host, claims that another ancient civilization predating or post-dating the Olmecs was responsible for the “Padilla head”. If so, it’s possible that the only artifact left belonging to them has fallen victim to the ongoing war, and chances for a similar discovery are slim because the area remains troubled by conflict.

This crop formation was found in the Netherlands this week and seems a bit off balance. I notice that one of the L shaped arms stinking out is different in shape than the other on its opposite side. Perhaps an indication that it was made by people and not aliens or maybe it is suppose to be this way. Many people in this city have seen UFOs or alien creatures on the surrounding mountains, but are often ignored, because Roswell, NM is nearby, taking away the attention from Dulce. I really feel that the city should invest in some live cams of the surrounding mountains and sky. Residents of the small town of Dulce in far northern New Mexico claim they’ve experienced some paranormal activity themselves and it’s gaining them some national attention. The History Channel show “UFO Hunters” is one of a handful of shows that have visited the small town on the Jicarilla Indian Reservation in recent years. Residents there say they have seen flying saucers, UFOs and fast moving lights. One person claiming he’s even tracked Bigfoot. Aliens are big business in Roswell attracting thousands of tourists each year. The city is home of a purported UFO crash in 1947, the source of one of the world’s biggest conspiracy theories. But some people say Roswell doesn’t have a monopoly on UFO sightings. “I think that there are more than one alien towns in New Mexico right now,” said Helen Walters, Roswell resident. Others say it’s best to leave all the flying saucers and extra-terrestrial stuff to the original alien city. “It’s always been something that’s been kind of a Roswell thing, so I think it would be something that would well most likely need to stay here,” said Bobby Graves. Residents like Ken Bertin agree. “I don’t think there’s room for more than one, Roswell is the only Alien Town, U.S.A.,” said Bertin. The Dulce legend started about 40 years ago with claims the U.S. military had built a sprawling underground base there where they kept aliens.
This is a very strange conversation between MSNBC's host Chris Matthews and Clar Moskowitz. It really looks like this is becoming an important area for Hillary, since a large portion of the country believe a UFO did crash at Roswell, NM back in 1947, and that the US government is trying to cover it and all UFO sightings up. None. It's never been discovered or detected or claimed?” Moskowitz responded that since Area 51 also “tests experimental aircraft” so anyone voicing concerns about “weird looking aircraft flying around” they shouldn’t conclude it’s aliens. Gisteren bewoog Mercurius tussen de aarde en de zon door en zonneobservatorium SOHO legde de complete overgang vast. Het resultaat is adembenemend.
Het is om stil van te worden: de beelden van het Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). We zien hoe Mercurius – de binnenste planeet van ons zonnestelsel – voor de machtige zon langs beweegt. Het is slechts een klein zwart stipje op die enorme, vrij roerige zonneschijf. Is het niet prachtig?
De beelden werden gisteren tijdens de Mercuriusovergang gemaakt. Tussen 13.12 en 20.41 uur (Nederlandse tijd) bewoog Mercurius tussen de zon en de aarde langs. Vanaf de aarde was – met behulp van een verrekijker of telescoop – een zwart stipje op de zonneschijf te zien. Dat zag er zo uit:

Een prachtige foto, maar de beelden gemaakt vanuit de ruimte blijven toch ook adembenemend mooi. De beelden hieronder zijn eveneens het werk van SOHO.
Wetenschappers gebruiken een onderwaterrobot om de geheimen van de Marianentrog te ontrafelen. Deze expeditie duurt tot 10 juli en is via een live feed te volgen. Op 24 april 2016 verscheen er plotseling een bijzonder dier in beeld. Verrassing!
De kwal is gespot door onderzoekers van NOAA’s Okeanos Explorer-schip. Het dier zwom op een diepte van 3.700 meter bij een zeeberg ten westen van de Mariantentrog. Het gaat mogelijk om een kwal van het geslacht Crossota. Tot op heden zijn er vijf soorten Crossota bekend, namelijk de alba, brunnea, millsae, norvegica en rufobrunnea. Crossota kunnen niet zelf zwemmen, maar drijven van plek naar plek, eigenlijk net zoals plankton.
“Waarschijnlijk is dit dier een sluipmoordenaar”, vervolgt Frazer. “Hij beweegt haast niet, maar spreidt zijn tentakels wel uit. Net als de draden van een spinnenweb wacht de kwal op een slachtoffer die toevallig in zijn armen zwemt.”
Vraag jij je af wat die felgele bolletjes onder de transparante buik van deze kwal zijn? Dat zijn de gonaden, oftewel de geslachtscellen bij dieren.
Naar schatting duurt het nog maanden – of misschien zelfs jaren – voordat deze kwal geclassificeerd is. Blijf de feed van de Okeanos Explorer volgen en wie weet ben jij live getuige van de ontdekking van een nieuwe soort.
Het is niet gek dat er nieuwe soorten worden ontdekt in de Marianentrog. Er zijn naar schatting een biljoen soorten op aarde en daarvan hebben wij slecht 0,001% gevonden. Grote kans dat de onderzoekers nog meer nieuwe dieren tegen het lijf aan lopen in de diepste trog ter wereld.
Did British jets scramble after a UFO was sighted in the ocean? The residents of Yorkshire heard sonic booms of jets scrambling last week with a potential alien interception as their mission. A YouTube video published by secureteam10 discusses a possible UFO cover-up. Interestingly, reputable news outlets covered the sonic booms of the scrambling jets. That part of the story cannot be denied. However, alien enthusiasts have spun details of a strange object in the ocean into a UFO conspiracy. The YouTube video also detailed leaked information by the Russians confirming the possible alien sighting. Hoax or real?
UFO Rising from the Watery Depths
The Earth-shaking booms that were reported in several cities in the U.K. indicate the scrambling of fighter jets. But for what reason? Could it have been a training exercise, and why is Russia monitoring that area of ocean? There were reports of the jets flying out to the ocean and circling the supposed UFO that rose from the water. The secureteam10 video shows an odd flight pattern photo that looks like it was illustrated using Photoshop. But this doesn’t make it not real. Where was NASA in all of this? They may have some satellite images worth uncovering.
The British Cover-Up
Shortly after the incident, the government issued a Defense Advisory (DA) Notice to all media outlets, according to the video. This would make it illegal to release facts about the incident, which may or may not be valid. The sonic booms were quickly made into news stories, but where the jets went and their mission was not made public. This may be another UFO cover-up by the British government and ESA. As well as NASA. Hours after the DA-Notice, a cover story was released. It said that everything was fine and the issue was caused by an Air France flight having technical problems. Eyewitness reports say that it was not a jet, and instead a UFO.
Will Russia and NASA Get Involved
The Baltic Sea has been an object of debate and tension for multiple countries, including the U.S. and Russia. Russia has been known to patrol the Baltic Sea, even buzzing U.S. Navy ships. UFO enthusiasts also believe that there are “USOs” in the Earth’s seas. USOs are simply UFOs underwater. Could NASA be doing secret expeditions in the Baltic Sea, causing tension and interest from Russia? Russia and NASA are in a space race to explore Mars. Could there also be a “sea race” to explore the alien life possibly hiding in the depths of the oceans? However, NASA may be too busy with Mars.

Archeoloog Semir Osmanagic heeft de afgelopen jaren nogal wat gedurfde uitspraken gedaan. Zo zei hij onder meer dat de kristallen schedels van de Maya’s zijn gemaakt door een hoogontwikkelde beschaving en dat de Maya’s afstammen van aliens. Dat schrijven Britse media.
Dr. Osmanagic zegt ook dat in zijn thuisland Bosnië piramides verborgen liggen die nog groter zijn dan de Egyptische piramides. “Het zijn niet alleen de oudste piramides in Europa, maar ook de grootste op de planeet,” zei hij.
“Voor veel archeologen komt dit als een schok omdat de meeste mensen de status-quo proberen te behouden,” voegde hij toe.
Ondergrondse tunnels

De 55-jarige Osmanagic deed zijn ontdekking in 2005 toen hij een bezoek bracht aan Visocica, een gebergte in Bosnië en Herzegovina. Hij stelde vast dat er vijf piramides in het gebied kunnen worden gevonden.
Eén van de piramides, die hij de Zonnepiramide heeft genoemd, zou maar liefst 220 meter hoog zijn, een stuk hoger dan de Grote Piramide van Gizeh (147 meter).
In 2006 stelde hij dat de vijf piramides met elkaar verbonden zijn door middel van een aantal ondergrondse tunnels die meer dan 34.000 jaar oud zijn. Maar volgens professor Curtis Runnels van de Boston University waren de vroege bewoners niet in staat om op grote schaal piramides te bouwen.
Amar Karapus, curator van het nationale museum van Bosnië en Herzegovina in Sarajevo, zei: “Toen ik voor het eerst las over de piramides dacht ik dat het een grap was. Ik kon niet geloven dat ook maar iemand dit geloofde.”
Gecommuniceerd tussen continenten
Volgens Osmanagic werden de piramides, inclusief de Egyptische piramides, gebruikt als zenders zodat continenten met elkaar konden communiceren.
“De oorspronkelijke piramides (Gizeh, Shaanxi, Teotihuacan en Bosnië) werden gebruikt als enorme opwekkers van elektromagnetische velden. Daarbij kwam onder meer ultrageluid vrij,” zei hij.
“Hoogstwaarschijnlijk waren het ook ontvangers,” legde hij uit. “Er werd tienduizenden jaren geleden al gecommuniceerd tussen de continenten.”
Hij is vastbesloten het bestaan van de Bosnische piramides te bewijzen. “Het is waar dat sommige archeologen uit Egypte, Mexico, Duitsland en de VS ons niet begrijpen en ons belachelijk proberen te maken. Maar over 50 jaar zullen mensen grappen maken over onze mainstream wetenschappers en hun gebrek aan kennis.”

Geheime Britse overheidsstukken over ongeïdentificeerde vliegende objecten, ook wel de Britse X-Files genoemd, worden mogelijk binnen enkele dagen vrijgegeven. Dat schrijft de Britse Daily Express.
De stukken, die al meer dan 30 jaar geheim zouden worden gehouden door het Britse ministerie van Defensie, komen deze maand in het Britse Nationaal Archief te liggen. Onderzoekers proberen net als het Britse parlementslid baron Guy Black al enige tijd inzage te krijgen in 18 topgeheime stukken over UFO-waarnemingen.
De Britse overheid werd eind 2013 beschuldigd van een cover-up, toen de openbaarmaking van de stukken werd uitgesteld. In maart dit jaar volgde opnieuw uitstel.
Straling
Sommige onderzoekers claimen dat de documenten mogelijk bewijs bevatten voor buitenaards bezoek en specifieke informatie over controversiële waarnemingen zoals het incident in Rendlesham Forest in 1980.
De Amerikaanse soldaat John Burroughs, die destijds gestationeerd was op RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk, werd blootgesteld aan straling nadat er een UFO boven de basis was verschenen. Afgelopen zomer vroeg hij het Britse parlement wanneer de 18 topgeheime stukken worden vrijgegeven aan het publiek.

Het is niemand duidelijk wat er precies gebeurt bij CERN in Zwitserland, maar het lijkt er nu toch echt op dat ze dimensieportalen aan het openen zijn.
Ogenschijnlijk werd het hele complex stilgelegd nadat een steenmarter een tunnel was binnengedrongen, maar wellicht was de werkelijke reden wel een hele andere.
Wat er zich allemaal precies afspeelt bij CERN in Zwitserland is voor een buitenstaander niet helemaal duidelijk, maar dat er zich daar een aantal wetenschappers bezighouden met activiteiten waardoor we in andere dimensies terecht kunnen komen, zoveel is helder.
De krachtigste deeltjesversneller ter wereld blijkt niet resistent te zijn tegen kleine scherpe tandjes. De Large Hadron Collider (LHC) van het Europees Centrum voor Nucleair Onderzoek CERN vlakbij Genève ligt sinds gisteravond stil nadat een wezel een stuk bekabeling doorbeet.
De Large Hadron Collider, die een ondergrondse, 27 kilometer lange ring vormt, is een van de meest complexe machines ter wereld. De komende dagen zal het toestel echter stilliggen voor reparatiewerkzaamheden.
Dat was dan waarschijnlijk wel een heel bijzondere marter, want het complex heeft wekenlang stil gelegen en werd rond 8 mei weer opgestart.
Direct daarna gebeurde er iets merkwaardigs met een aantal radarsystemen die een perfecte cirkelvormige wolkenformatie weergaven boven CERN.
CERN heeft publiekelijk aangekondigd dat ze zich dit jaar bezig zullen houden met supersymmetrie en donkere materie. De energieniveaus die door CERN dit jaar gehanteerd zullen worden, zijn daarom dan ook hoger dan ooit tevoren.
De wolken op de radar tonen een perfecte cirkel, maar er is geen bui gevallen.
Zijn de wetenschappers bij CERN er misschien in geslaagd om een dimensieportaal te openen? Het is dan ook niet voor niets dat ze hebben gezegd dat dit jaar het jaar zal worden waarin ze echt resultaten zullen bereiken.

Enkele dagen geleden zijn er nogal bijzonder beelden opgedoken waarbij een UFO schijnt te verdwijnen in een soort spiraalwolk, pal boven het CERN terrein in Geneve.
Ohja, CERN zegt dat de vorming van de cirkelvormige wolken niets met hen te maken heeft, maar dat het een probleem met de radar is. Tuurlijk.
Een voor velen bekend gegeven, is dat wanneer er een UFO in de buurt is er elektrische storingen optreden.
Talloze verhalen van ooggetuigen waarbij automotoren opeens niet meer werken en batterijen van mobiele telefoons zomaar ineens leeg zijn.

In de buurt van een klein Pools dorp, Majdan in de buurt van Lublin, gebeurde iets heel merkwaardigs.
In de onderstaande video zie je hoe een cirkelvormige ufo langzaam een windmolenpark nadert.
Dan gebeurt er iets wat je niet dagelijks zult zien; de windmolen stopt met draaien. Nadat de UFO is gepasseerd, beginnen de wieken weer gewoon te draaien alsof er niet is gebeurd.

The British X-files could be made available to the public in the coming days. Alien hunters are now excited to know more about the infamous Rendlesham UFO case. British officials already confirmed the files be transferred to the National Archives within the month.
UFO researchers have been fighting for the release of 18 top secret Ministry of Defence (MoD) files on government investigations of UFO sightings.
The Government has long faced allegations about cover-ups, and it worsened when their release of records involving UFO sightings and investigations did not push through at the end of 2013. The release stalled this March again.
Former MoD investigator on UFO sightings, Nick Pope, believes the files contain unusual sightings. However, he doesn’t think that the soon-to-be-released records involve the UK version of the US hangar cover up.
Lord Black of Brentwood has been exerting many efforts for the release of these records to the National Archives.
Mr Pope sympathized with alien researchers when the release of data was stalled, which the defense ministry blamed on additional processing requirements.
Mr Pope served the MoD for 21 years and said that they did not have any crashed spaceships hidden from the public in some RAF hanger. However, he stressed that they did have some fascinating and unexplained cases in their files.

There’s a conclusive proof to solve the mystery in one of the most infamous UFO cases 20 years ago, according to a former NASA astronaut.
Tom Jones, who was on four space shuttle missions in a span of over 11 years, said that he could solve the mystery of UFO Tether Incident in 1996.
The story revolves around the mystery of a satellite, which was tethered to the space shuttle, breaking off. Astronauts on board later filmed it and apparently saw hundreds of UFOs swarmed it like organisms swimming in a sea.
Conspiracy theorists believe there are many NASA astronauts and personnel who have witnessed evidence of aliens and UFOs, but not all have blown the whistle.
Those who have come forward include the sixth astronaut to walk on the moon, Edgar Mitchell, who said he had proof of alien races that were in contact with the US government.
However, Mr Jones isn’t convinced of testimonies from whistleblowers, including Mitchell. Mr Jones said the explanation for mysterious sightings was simpler.
He stated that astronauts haven’t seen any proof of alien life. He suggested that these astronauts may have seen ice crystals, lightning flashes, drifting orbital debris, or streaking meteors in the dark atmosphere below.
When asked about the 1996 Tether Incident, which has received mass reports of Mr Jones’ crew seeing UFOs, he answered that those mysterious objects floating alongside the ship for the first couple of days of the flight were just ice crystals.
However, conspiracy theorists are still convinced that NASA astronauts are under threat of breach of national security oaths, and the penalty of death may be imposed should they reveal anything deemed classified, including the sightings of aliens and UFOs.
Compelling evidence of an alien visitation from space just took place when a bizarre UFO was recorded on video stopping a turbine as it moved through a wind farm, according to some alien investigators.
The video was shot in the remote area of Madjdanek, Lublin, Poland in April this year. It apparently shows an unusual circular object flying slowly towards a wind turbine.
The rotors that were turning, suddenly came to a complete stop as the orb was approaching. They started to rotate again after the object had passed.
Polish paranormal YouTube channel Grupa obserwacyjna posted the video clip to the commercial video sharing site.
According to the channel, the object came from the east and flew over the area for about an hour. The object disappeared after the recording.
It was claimed to have been filmed on April 17.
The event is now being debated on several online UFO forums.
According to some UFO researchers, NASA knows very well this kind of metallic, orb object. They say that the orbs following near to the space shuttle Atlantis were similar to this one.
Since the footage went online, other witnesses say that the same object was spotted over Zgorzelec flying in a north-easterly direction just within 24 hours of the event.
We all know that major storms can wreak havoc, flooding cities and decimating infrastructure. But there’s an even bigger worry than wind and rain: space weather. If a massive solar storm hit us, our technology would be wiped out. The entire planet could go dark.
“We’re much more reliant on technology these days that is vulnerable to space weather than we were in the past,” Thomas Berger, director of the Space Weather Prediction Center at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration told Gizmodo. “If we were hit by an extreme event today, it’d be very difficult to respond.”
“Solar storm” is a generic term used to describe a bunch of stuff the Sun hurls our way, including x-rays, charged particles, and magnetized plasma. A massive solar storm hasn’t hit the Earth since the mid-19th century, but space weather scientists are very worried about the possibility of another.
Solar Flares
A solar storm usually starts with a solar flare — a giant explosion on the surface of the sun that sends energy and particles streaming off into space. Small, C-class flares occur all the time and are too weak to affect the Earth, while mid-sized M-class flares can produce minor radio disruptions. X-class flares, meanwhile, are the largest explosions in the solar system, releasing up to a billion hydrogen bombs worth of energy. These eruptions occur very rarely, but when they do, they’re an epic sight.
One of the most powerful flares measured with modern instruments took place during a solar maximum in 2003. It was so large it maxed out our satellite sensors, which registered an X-28 (28 types larger than an X-1 flare, which itself is 10 times greater than an M1 flare). Here’s what that event looked like:

Despite observing flares for over a century, scientists still aren’t totally sure what causes the Sun to erupt. We do know that flares have a lot to do with disruptions in the Sun’s powerful magnetic field, which oscillates over the course of an 11-ish year solar cycle.
“Solar storms originate in magnetic features that erupt from the surface of the sun,” explained space weather scientist Joe Gurman, speaking to Gizmodo from NASA’s Goddard Spaceflight Center. “We call these active regions, or sunspots. When they’re big and ugly, that’s an indication that the magnetic field is changing rapidly. And when the magnetic field changes rapidly, that appears to be the cause — or related to the cause — of solar activity.”
A mid- to large-sized solar flare would send waves of high energy radiation — x rays and ultraviolet light — zipping toward the Earth. These types of radiation are powerful enough to rip electrons off of atoms. That’s exactly what they start doing when they hit the upper portion of our atmosphere, known as the ionosphere. Basically, the sky gets zapped with a giant electromagnetic pulse. But according to Berger, even the biggest flares don’t impact humans very much.
“It’s a huge EM pulse that roils up the ionosphere, causing it to expand out,” Berger said. “But the solar flare really doesn’t damage technology.”
The one exception is radio. Radio signals between the Earth and orbiting satellites can be blocked when the atmosphere becomes too charged.
“Radio communications are sometimes impacted,” Berger noted. “Over the horizon radio becomes difficult. When airplanes are flying over the poles, the only way they communicate with control centers is high frequency radio waves bouncing over the continents. But it’s just a temporary difficulty lasting ten minutes to hours at the most.”
We don’t have a great way of forecasting solar flares, and they hit the Earth too quickly for NOAA to provide airline companies with advance notice (it takes about eight minutes for sunlight to reach us).
“The only thing we can do is issue an alert when we see one,” Berger said. “Airlines are very interested in flare effects on high frequency communications, and if there’s a really large event, they’ll consider grounding flights.”
If you’re not an airline operator, you pretty much get to sit this one out. But don’t forget to check out the amazing images over at NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory every now and then.
Charged Particles
Minutes to hours after a solar flare lights up the sky, a stream of charged particles — electrons and protons — arrive at the Earth. They bombard the magnetosphere, a protective envelope around Earth created by our magnetic field. “We see the radiation level go up sometimes, which can indicate that particles are impinging on Earth’s orbit,” said Berger.

Occasionally, a large pulse of charged particles will hit orbiting satellites and damage their electronics. Particle radiation is also a big health risk for humans in space.
“We do have to worry about energetic particles on the ISS,” Gurman said. “If we ever get to the point of being a spacefaring race, they’re going to become a much bigger concern.”
But by and large, the effects of solar particle radiation are buffered by the magnetosphere and atmosphere. It’s what’s coming next that you and me on the ground need to worry about.
Coronal Mass Ejections
When the Sun flares up, it sometimes shoots a giant cloud of magnetized plasma off into space. This is called a coronal mass ejection (CME). CMEs are the slowest form of solar weather, taking anywhere from 12 hours to several days to reach the Earth. They’re also by far the most dangerous.
Fortunately, because CMEs are slow moving, our space weather forecasters have a little more time to anticipate them. They examine images of the Sun, pulled from the SOHO and STEREO satellites. When our observatories see something big, NOAA responds.
Berger outlined what happens next: “A watch is issued when we see something happen on the Sun headed toward the Earth. Typically if there’s a large CME, something major we think could impact the Earth, we put out a watch.”
A CME will shoot pretty much straight out from the Sun, and there’s always a good chance that the Earth won’t end up in its path. If a CME is coming straight at us, it’ll first hit NASA’s ACE satellite, located at the L1 Lagrange point roughly a million miles in front of the Earth. If that happens, we’ve got anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour before a cloud of plasma rains down from above, interacting with our planet’s magnetosphere and triggering a geomagnetic storm.
That’s when you start to see effects on the power grid.

“This generates huge electrical currents in upper atmosphere of Earth,” Berger said. “Depending on how conductive the ground is, you can get large currents getting picked up by power stations and fed into the grid.” And that’s bad news, because “our grid isn’t designed for huge amounts of current coming out of the ground.”
Geomagnetic storm strength is measured in “disturbance storm time” or Dst, which essentially describes how hard a CME shakes up Earth’s magnetic field. Ordinary storms, which cause the northern lights to flare up but otherwise don’t impact us, register somewhere in the neighborhood of Dst = -50 nT (nanoTesla). The worst geomagnetic storm of the space age, which knocked out power across Quebec in March of 1989, registered a Dst = -600 nT.
But even that 1989 storm looks puny in comparison to the Carrington event, a geomagnetic storm that zapped the Earth 156 years ago. At the time, the damage wasn’t too bad. But a Carrington-sized storm today could spell disaster.
Monster Storms
The Carrington event of September, 1859 is named for Richard Carrington, the English astronomer who saw the sun flare up with his own eyes. In the days following Carrington’s observation, a series of powerful CMEs hit the Earth head-on, igniting the northern lights as far south as Cuba. Currents electrified telegraph lines, shocked technicians, set telegraph papers on fire, and caused widespread communications outages.
Modern estimates for the strength of this storm range from Dst = -800 nT to -1750 nT.

Human society is far more reliant on electricity today than it was 156 years ago. Berger pointed out that today we have pipelines, electrical transmission grids, and a lot more ground-based electrical conduction technology. So, what would happen if a Carrington-sized event struck us now? Pretty much ever aspect of the modern world would take a hit, according to a report by the National Academies of Sciences.
The ground currents induced by large geomagnetic storms can melt the copper windings of transformers that lie at the heart of power distribution systems. If this happens, it can lead to massive power outages. And because our power grid has grown much more interconnected over time, the effects of such an outage today could be spread far and wide.

It’s hard to overstate just how much this would uproot our lives. The lights would of course go out, as would the internet, and any device that draws current from the wall. In places with electronically-controlled municipal water supplies — like most modern cities — toilets and sewage treatment systems would stop working. Heating and air conditioning would fail. Perishable food and medication would be lost. ATMs would be useless. Gas pumps would go offline. And so forth.
GPS technology would also be knocked out. Said Grunman, “The GPS system depends on the very precise timing of a course of signals between two points, like a spacecraft and your phone. If you dump a bunch of energetic particles into the atmosphere, that effects your GPS. Which is sobering when you consider the replacement of old aircraft landing technology with GPS.”
Some of these effects could last years, and they’d be felt globally. “The entire magnetic field of the Earth is changing, so the entire Earth feels it,” said Berger.

It’s hard to fathom the social consequences of billions of power-hungry humans suddenly being pulled off the grid, but I think we can all agree it wouldn’t be pretty. What we do know for sure is that the economic toll would be enormous. The National Academies report estimates that total cost of a Carrington-sized event today could exceed $2 trillion dollars — 20 times greater than the cost of Hurricane Katrina.
It’s important to keep in mind that we aren’t talking about some incredibly far-fetched, Armageddon-style apocalypse situation here. In fact, in July of 2012, a massive CME ripped through Earth’s orbit and narrowly missed us. That event, which was picked up by NASA’s STEREO-A satellite, would have registered a Dst of -1200 nT — comparable to the Carrington event.
“If it had hit, we would still be picking up the pieces,” space weather scientist Daniel Baker of the University of Colorado told NASA in 2014. “How many other [storms] of this scale have just happened to miss Earth and our space detection systems? This is a pressing question that needs answers.”

Thanks to a growing army of space weather observatories, we’re much better able to predict CMEs than we were 20 years ago. Still, most space weather scientists agree that if a massive solar storm struck today, we’d be pretty screwed. But we’re trying to change that.
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy has assembled a task force to explore ways of responding to extreme events. Berger said that they have a national space weather strategy due out in October. The strategy will outlines what the US needs to do to be “better prepared.”
Berger couldn’t comment on the specifics of the policy strategy, so we’ll have to check in again this fall. He did hint that it would be heavy on the recommendations for power suppliers. (Currently, power companies respond to large solar storm warnings by re-routing power distribution around transformers.)
In the meanwhile, what can a space weather-conscious Earthling do? Most of the usual disaster preparedness advice applies. Build an emergency supply kit.Have a plan for getting in touch with loved ones should the phones fail. Keep your car tank at least half full of gasoline. Keep extra batteries on hand, or purchase a solar or hand-crank charger. Back up your data. Make sure you’ve got plenty of spare crowbars — wait, no, that’s the zombie apocalypse.
