A conductor records an interdimensional portal in the skies of Alabama
by Aditya
It seems that lately a lot of dimensional portals are opening in many parts of our planet. Last month, we published as in the Scottish council of Midlothian, near Edinburgh, a mysterious blue circular light appeared in the night sky. And in case it was not strange enough, a UFO passed close to what appeared to be an interdimensional portal before it closed.
This and other similar phenomena throughout the years demonstrate what throughout our history have been considered myths and legends. Many ancient cultures speak of portals to other worlds and doors to star systems where their "creators" live . But there are more, declassified files of the FBI said that our Earth has been visited by beings from other planets and dimensions. In fact, NASA announced that there are "energy portals" hidden within the Earth's magnetic field, which makes some wonder if the legends about stellar portals and wrmholesThey can have a basis of truth. But returning to the present, they have now recorded what appears to be the opening of an interdimensional portal in the skies of Alabama, United States.
An interdimensional portal in Alabama
The YouTube channel "MrMBB333" has published an amazing video that shows a seemingly interdimensional portal in the skies of the city of Gulf Shores , Baldwin County in the US state of Alabama. The strange phenomenon was recorded on June 8, 2018 by a driver named Nicholas during a thunderstorm.
In addition, in the video you can see what appears to be a UFO very close to a bright form in the sky that would be the interdimensional portal. And the truth is that the unidentified flying object is no less impressive than what happens at that moment. It is a dark form that plans and does not move. It is not a stain on the windshield, it is still in the same place after Nicholas leaves his vehicle to have a better view. When you move the camera to record a different area of the sky and refocus toward the "portal" , the UFO has disappeared.
After analyzing the video, MrMBB333 suggests that it could be a previous extraterrestrial UFO from other worlds accessing our planet through a dimensional portal. This would be because portals like the one in Alabama act as channels between two different worlds, and extraterrestrial civilizations use it to travel through different planets at great speed.
"June 8, 2018: A video of a very unusual thunderstorm in Gulf Shores, Alabama, by Nicholas, who witnessed this spectacular event," reads the video description. "In the video, you can clearly see a ship observing what looks like a portal."
The video has been widely disseminated through social networks and media, with hundreds of Internet users speculating on the origin of such a mysterious phenomenon. Both believers in the paranormal and conspiracy theorists agree that the electrical storm was activated due to the opening of the portal . But other conspirators offered a really interesting theory, that these thunderstorms are the result of the arrival of Nibiru , the wandering planet that would already be in our solar system. The also known as Planet X would be in the direction of the Earth, and in the near future will pass extremely close or impact against our planet causing massive destruction.
However, skeptics have another opinion about the strange phenomenon and question the veracity of the video. Apparently, the images were taken while it was getting dark, and you can see that since the sky is completely dark and the street lights are on, it was night. In the video of MrMBB333 it is also mentioned that Nicholas was driving west. For those who travel constantly, they know that this is the cardinal direction in which the sun sets.
The western sky is the last direction in disappearing the blue color of the sky. Then, against the dark clouds, a dark blue sky would look brighter than normal. In addition, Nicholas is using the camera of a mobile phone. When a Smartphone is recording at night in automatic mode, its ISO aperture is adjusted to let in more light. Because the camera is calibrated for the average light level of the image, the residual light between the sun's storm clouds would appear brighter than normal.
Well, this is the explanation offered by the skeptics to say that it is a montage. But apart from all the theories, it is definitely a video worth seeing and analyzing.
What do you think about the mysterious phenomenon in Alabama? Is it an interdimensional portal? Or do you have a logical and rational explanation?

Is NASA conducting a secret black project? Strange UFO spotted above Texas sparks debate
A Texas resident has captured the eerie sighting of a UFO in the skies of Houston, and many people believe that it is operated by NASA for a black operation.
A strange UFO recently spotted by a Texas resident named Shaun is now taking the internet by a storm. The clip, which was apparently shot above Houston, on June 16, 2018, shows a UFO flying thousands of feet above the ground, even higher than the jet planes flying passing above.
After shooting the video of the incident, Shaun soon uploaded it on his YouTube channel named 'Paranormal Shaun'.
"I caught this today over Houston Texas using my full spectrum Sony Handycam. I zoomed in and out often to give you guys some perspective. It had some odd movement and I had to zoom in pretty far so keeping the camera still was a task," wrote Shaun in the video description.
Shaun also argued that there is an airport very near to this area, and speculated that something strange might be going on there.
"We actually have an airport really close which is not an international airport – it is out in the woods and I think there is some strange stuff going on up there," said Shaun.
The airport located in the vicinity is actually Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, a shared military facility of the US Air Force and the NASA.
The clip shot by Shaun was later shared by conspiracy theory YouTube channel 'Third Phase of Moon' where it has already racked up more than 31,000 views.
As the video went viral, conspiracy theorists started speculating that the strange object spotted in the skies might be developed either by the NASA or the US Air Force to conduct black operations in the skies. In the meantime, alien buffs believe that the bright UFO which appeared in the skies might be actually an alien mothership came from deep space.
However, skeptics assured that there is nothing fishy about the UFO which appeared in the Texas skies, and they make it clear that the bizarre object is actually a drone.
Are we alone in the universe? It’s a question that has rankled philosophers and scientists for ages, but for the last half-century answering this question has been the exclusive purview of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), a scientific enterprise dedicated to looking for traces of alien intelligence in the universe. Since the beginning of modern SETI in 1960, things have seemed hopeful. There are something like a billion trillion stars in the universe, and we now know that most of these stars probably host planets. The odds that at least one of these planets was home to an alien civilization seemed good—it was just a matter of finding them.
Yet nearly 60 years after Project Ozma used a radio telescope to search the universe for alien messages for the first time, we have yet to find any evidence that we’re not alone. Some SETI researchers like Seth Shostak are optimistic that first contact will happen any day now, but according to new research from Oxford University’s Future of Humanity Institute, it might never happen because there’s a good chance we’re the only intelligent creatures in the observable universe.

Cosmic Solipsism?
In 1950, the physicist Enrico Fermi was busy developing a hydrogen bomb at Los Alamos National Laboratory, but he still found time to contemplate the universe when he wasn’t working on one of the most destructive weapons ever built. Considering how big the universe is, Fermi assumed that it must be swarming with intelligent life. How odd, then, that not a single extraterrestrial civilization had ever made contact with Earth or left even the faintest trace of its existence.
The improbable silence in the universe has since become known as the Fermi Paradox. Yet Fermi never pursued the notion beyond an initial thought experiment, and to paraphrase Lord Kelvin, it ain’t science until it has some numbers. Fortunately, only a decade later the planetary scientist Frank Drake turned the Fermi Paradox from parable to physics with the now famous Drake equation, which is used by SETI researchers to estimate the probability of life in the Milky Way.
To get an estimate of the number of intelligent civilizations in the universe, the Drake equation combines the rate of star formation per year, the fraction of stars with planets, the number of these planets that are habitable, the fraction of habitable planets with life, the fraction with life that develop intelligence, the fraction of intelligent civilizations that are detectable and the longevity of detectable civilizations.
When Drake presented this equation to his colleagues at the 1961 Green Bank conference following the end of Project Ozma, they ended up with estimating that the Milky Way was populated with somewhere between 1,000 and 100,000,000 intelligent civilizations. (Drake himself estimated there to be around 10,000 intelligent, communicating civilizations in our galaxy.) This is a big spread, but that’s because most of the values in the equation are best guesses. The only values that scientists have real data on is the rate of star formation and the number of exoplanets.
Outside of that, the results of the Drake equation mostly depend on whether you’re optimistic about life forming and surviving its own intelligence. (At this time many of the most talented physicists in the world were working on nuclear weapons, after all.) As the astronomer Steven J. Dick has pointed out, “perhaps never in the history of science has an equation been devised yielding values differing by eight orders of magnitude. Each scientist seems to bring his own prejudices and assumptions to the problem.” Drake himself admitted the shortcomings of the equation, which was only devised as a way to articulate research directions in SETI rather than provide a concrete number on the prevalence of extraterrestrial life in the universe.
Scientific SETI
In a paper published to arXiv earlier this month, researchers from Oxford University’s Future of Humanity Institute argue that if anything, the fact that estimates from the Drake equation only vary by eight orders of magnitude is surprising. Due to the biases of scientists using the equation, this range should be much larger. In order to understand the Fermi Paradox, the researchers argue that the values in the Drake equation should not be concrete values, but ranges or probability distributions. By looking using distributions of values, they find that the Fermi Paradox isn’t much of a paradox at all because the odds are actually pretty good that we’re all alone in the galaxy, and perhaps even the entire observable universe.
The problem, according to the researchers, is that plugging numbers into the Drake equation as a ‘best guess’ implies certainty and results in misleading estimates. Probability distributions, on the other hand, allows for uncertainty to be captured in the equation.
To estimate the likelihood that we’re alone in the galaxy and/or the observable universe, the researchers used two different methods. One of them surveyed the current state of scientific knowledge about different variables in the Drake equation (for example, the probability of life emerging from a roiling prehistoric soup). The other method sampled published scientific papers that used the Drake equation to quantify the uncertainty about each variable according to current scientific knowledge.
The result of these methods were comparable and both suggested that there is a substantial probability that we’re alone. According to the researchers, there is between a 38 and 85 percent chance we’re alone in the visible universe and between a 53 and 99.6 percent chance we’re alone in our galaxy.
These are sobering results, but the researchers caution against any kneejerk cosmic pessimism. “This conclusion does not mean that we are alone, just that this is very scientifically plausible and should not surprise us,” the researchers wrote. “It is a statement about our state of knowledge, rather than a new measurement.”
In other words, there’s no reason to despair—yet. The more we learn about the universe and our own planet, the more we will decrease the uncertainty latent in the Drake equation. For example, our inability to detect extraterrestrial civilizations over the decade can increase our certainty that we’re alone, but then again, the universe may be awash in extraterrestrial signals and we simply haven’t learned how to recognize them yet. For now, however, the researchers suggest that if there are aliens, they are “probably extremely far away and quite possibly beyond the cosmological horizon and forever unreachable.”
Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity is a monumental achievement of human ingenuity, creativity and perseverance — to say the least.
While one might reasonably argue that there were several people on the planet in the early 20th century who were as brilliant as Einstein, nobody could think the same way he did. His seven-year journey to develop a new theory of gravity was filled with leap after startling intuitive leap — with pregnant pauses in between as he worked out the consequences of those new thoughts. And the result of all that labor was our modern understanding of how gravity works, unchanged in the century since Einstein. [Einstein's Theory of General Relativity: A Simplified Explanation]
Let's a take a peek into the mind of a true gravitational master.
The Special Theory of Relativity - Einstein's Thought Experiment on the Addition of Velocities
Free, free falling
Einstein's first insight into the nature of gravity was to put a new twist on an old idea. In Isaac Newton's original mathematical description of gravity ("OG"?), there's an odd coincidence when it comes to the concept of "mass." In one famous equation, F = ma, mass is your inertia — how much oomph it takes to shove you along. In Newton's other equation on gravity, mass is more like gravitational charge — the level of attraction you might feel toward the Earth, for example.
Objects with twice the mass feel twice the attraction toward the Earth, and should therefore fall twice as quickly. But years back, Galileo Galilei had conclusively shown that they don't: Neglecting air resistance, all objects fall at the same rate regardless of their mass.
Thus for Newton's theory to work, inertial mass had to be the same as gravitational mass, but only by sheer coincidence: there was no reason for this equality to hold. For an object with twice the mass, the Earth may pull on it twice as strongly, but this is perfectly canceled out by the fact that it's now twice as hard to get the object moving. Inertial and gravitational masses move in perfect lockstep.
This odd correspondence had long been a puzzle in gravitational circles, but in 1907, Einstein took it one step further. The physicist imagined what would happen if you were to fall from a great height. Again neglecting air resistance, your inertial and gravitational masses would cancel, making you feel perfectly weightless, as if there were no gravity at all. But zero-gravity environments are precisely the playground of Special Relativity, the theory he had cooked up just a couple years prior that wove our conceptions of space and time into the unified fabric of spacetime.
To Einstein, this was a major clue. Lurking in the shadows of gravity was his precious special relativity and the essential concept of space-time, and what made that realization possible was the elevation of the equivalence between inertial and gravitational masses into a fundamental principle, rather than the awkward afterthought it had been.
Up, up, and away
Then, Einstein took it another step further. Suppose that in the middle of the night, we relocated your bedroom to the interior of a rocket, launched the craft into space (you're a heavy sleeper) and sent it flying away with the engines purring, providing a constant 1 g acceleration, the same acceleration you would feel on the Earth.
Let's further assume that the rocket is perfectly quiet, so there's no immediate giveaway that you're on that spaceship. Unless you looked outside and noticed that only a worryingly thin piece of glass separated you from the vacuum of space, you would have no idea that you were part of some grotesque science experiment.
Drop an apple — it falls to the floor. Drop a jug of milk — it falls to the floor at the exact same rate. From outside the spaceship, it's easy to see why: The apple and milk aren't really moving, but the rocket is accelerating forward, "meeting" the dropped items. If we removed the floor altogether, the apple and milk would simply stay put as the rocket zoomed away.
But inside the rocket ,you would just think it's normal gravity: Objects are falling, as they are wont to do, and all at the same rate.
The implication is clear (or at least, it was clear to Einstein): Gravity causes acceleration, and acceleration causes gravity. They are absolutely identical.
Round and round we go
Einstein had to make one more big leap to get us to modern gravity. It's such a big leap that he spent five years just tinkering around with the implications of gravity = acceleration before he could make the next jump. And to do it, you could almost say, he had to think in circles.
Imagine a specially designed merry-go-round, with all the horses lined up nose to tail, forming a perfect circle around the perimeter. Now, accelerate the ride such that it's rotating at close to the speed of light. What happens?
Let's assume, first of all, that the ride can actually stay together. As the horses pass in front of your view, they appear shorter. Why? At those speeds, Einstein's special relativity teaches us that moving objects contract along their direction of motion.
That means the horses aren't perfectly nose-to-tail anymore; you can squeeze more seats into a rotating ride than you could in a stationary one. But the total width of the ride hasn't changed; the entire ride isn't powering across your field of view, so you don’t observe any relativistic length-contraction funny business to the entire structure, just to the horses as they pass by. This combination means that our old familiar relationship between diameter and circumference (C = pi * d) no longer applies to the rotating ride.
The geometry that describes this relationship simply isn't the normal Euclid-derived stuff that we were taught in high school. It's non-Euclidean, or the geometry of curved spaces.
Einstein's Time Travel Thought Experiment
TIME is an ILLUSION said EINSTEIN - (the space-time continuum)
Supreme general
So here are the puzzle pieces that Einstein had in 1912: a) Space-time must be involved somehow, b) acceleration and gravity are intimately linked, and c) some accelerations need to be described by curved geometries.
While it's easy enough for us, a hundred years later, to simply say, "Gravity is the curvature of space-time," it took Einstein another two years of feverish work to make all the mathematical pieces fit and give us what we know as general relativity.

YouTube users believe the unidentified object could be evidence of Donald Trump's 'Space Force'
A SCOTTISH UFO researcher’s video of a mysterious triangle on the surface of the moon has gone viral on the internet.
Uploaded to his Streetcap1 channel on YouTube, George Graham’s video had attracted well over 12,000 views by last night, just a few hours after it was first shown.
It had also elicited a bizarre theory that the object could be the TR-3B anti-gravity craft which conspiracy theorists say is the ‘Space Force’ threatened by president Donald Trump.
YouTube user Dane Masie commented: “The Space Force is alive and well.”
Just 24 hours previously, Graham, who has made claims of alien inhabitation of the moon in the past, uploaded pictures of what he called “lunar anomalies” which some viewers interpreted as alien craft.
Graham himself makes no such claims in the latest video which clearly shows a triangular object without any other identifying features.
The footage comes from a lunar probe and was shot from 65 miles above the moon.
Intriguingly, all three sides are sharp and straight and have no indentations, which they would have were it a rock subject to normal lunar erosion.
Graham says in the video: “I don’t know what the odds are of spotting a triangle on the lunar surface but this is definitely triangular in shape.
“What it is, I don’t know. It’s from the same photograph I used last night to upload the lunar anomalies and the alien sign, or whatever I called it.
“It is a bit strange, isn’t it? It could be a craft. I believe it has landed next to a habitat.”.
Celeste Nova, another YouTube viewer, commented: “It does look like a craft of some kind and appears to be lit up at its cockpit with more lights on top, whatever it is, it certainly does not look natural! What a find.”
Another viewer commented: “Brilliant find once again and that sure is something extraordinary, with such defined lines and with the picture being taken from 60 or more miles up, the object has to be really quite large.”

Anneke Janson, Sandfjirden (Friesland)

In an ACLU lawsuit over the separation of families in immigration detention, a DOJ official told the judge that “once a parent is in ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] custody and the child is taken into the Health and Human Services system, the government does not try to reunite them, and instead attempts to place the child with another relative in the United States — if the child has one.”
In just a few days from now, the 2018 Dulce Base UFO Conference will be held at Dulce, New Mexico. There will, of course, be a great deal of debate and conversation on the town’s legend: namely, that deep below Dulce’s Archuleta Mesa there exists a huge, fortified “alien base” where all sorts of horrific experimentation is undertaken on untold numbers of people. By who? By hostile aliens, that’s who. The stories range from the fairly down to earth to the downright paranoid. It should be noted, though, that in his 2005 book, Project Beta, Greg Bishop made a very persuasive case that much of the story was created/fabricated by (a) counterintelligence experts in the U.S. military and (b) those skilled in the field of creating and disseminating disinformation.
Back in the 1970s, Paul Bennewitz – who died in 2003, in Albuquerque, New Mexico – had his own company that stood adjacent to Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. Its name was Thunder Scientific. On occasion, Bennewitz had seen – late at night and in the early hours of the morning – strange, unidentified objects flying over Kirtland Air Force Base and the nearby, huge Manzano Mountains. They could have been early drone-like craft. But, for Bennewitz they were alien craft.
Bennewitz’s head spun: he came to believe that aliens were in league with the U.S. Air Force, and that much of the secret program was run out of Kirtland. While one school of thought suggests that Bennewitz was indeed tracking the movements of UFOs in the skies over Kirtland, another suggests that Bennewitz had actually stumbled on tests of new and radical aircraft, and additional advanced technologies of a terrestrial kind. It’s this latter angle/theory that Greg Bishop addresses chiefly in his book.
In ingenious fashion – but from the perspective of Bennewitz, in terrible fashion – a plot was initiated to, in essence, give Bennewitz exactly what he wanted to hear. So, with that in mind, well-placed government agents, intelligence operatives, and experts in the fields of counterintelligence and disinformation, all fed Bennewitz fictitious tales of dangerous ETs, of thousands of people abducted and mind-controlled in slave-like fashion by the aliens, of terrible experiments undertaken on people held below the Dulce base, and of a looming confrontation between the human race and the deadly creatures from another galaxy.
With his mind and research diverted to Dulce – and, most importantly from the perspective of the government, away from the classified programs at Kirtland Air Force Base – Bennewitz became more and more paranoid and finally had a nervous collapse. He kept a low profile after that, his research largely over. But, the story isn’t quite over.
More than a decade before Bennewitz came to believe the awful rumors of Dulce were true, the U.S. Government alreadyhad a stake in the area and its surroundings. A contingent from the Atomic Energy Commission headed into town and set up what was called Project Gasbuggy. It was a sub-project of a much bigger project called Plowshare. The plan was to detonate – way below ground – a small nuclear device, as a means to try and extract natural gas. The operation went ahead on December 10, 1967 – and it worked well. The bomb was detonated at a depth of more than 4,000 feet.
Years later, certain figures in the UFO field suggested that the natural gas scenario was a cover for something else. You may already see where this is all going. There is an enduring belief within certain factions of Ufology that the nuke was actually used, by a panicked government, to try and wipe out the alien base and the extraterrestrials said to live deep within it. Even to this day it is illegal to dig in certain areas around Dulce, on the orders of the Atomic Energy Commission.
Moving on, from 1975 to 1979, the town of Dulce was hit by numerous cattle mutilations: black helicopters soared across the skies of town by night – and sometimes, and incredibly, in complete silence. Strange lights were seen flitting around Dulce’s huge Archuleta Mesa. Cows were found with organs removed and blood drained from their corpses. The incisions looked as if they were the work of lasers.
For those who might find all of this to be just too incredible, it’s worth noting that the FBI was heavily involved in the investigation of the mutilations at Dulce and has now placed its files on the mystery on their website, The Vault. It’s a file that reads like science-fiction (but it isn’t…)and that runs to more than 100 pages. Many of the incidents were investigated by the late Police Officer Gabe Valdez of Espanola. The FBI summarized Valdez’ theories as follows:
QUOTE: “Information furnished to this office by Officer Valdez indicates that the animals are being shot with some type of paralyzing drug and the blood is being drawn from the animal after an injection of an anti-coagulant. It appears that in some instances the cattle’s legs have been broken and helicopters without any identifying numbers have reportedly been seen in the vicinity of these mutilations.
“Officer Valdez theorizes that clamps are being placed on the cow’s legs and they are being lifted by helicopter to some remote area where the mutilations are taking place and then the animal is returned to its original pasture. The mutilations primarily consist of removal of the tongue, the lymph gland, lower lip and the sexual organs of the animal.
“Much mystery has surrounded these mutilations, but according to witnesses they give the appearance of being very professionally done with a surgical instrument, and according to Valdez, as the years progress, each surgical procedure appears to be more professional. Officer Valdez has advised that in no instance, to his knowledge, are these carcasses ever attacked by predator or scavenger animals, although there are tracks which would indicate that coyotes have been circling the carcass from a distance. Special Agent Putman then informed the Director of the outcome of Valdez’s run-ins with officials.
“He also advised that he has requested Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory to conduct investigation for him but until just recently has always been advised that the mutilations were done by predatory animals. Officer Valdez stated that just recently he has been told by two assistants at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory that they were able to determine the type of tranquilizer and blood anti-coagulant that have been utilized.” END OF QUOTE
Putman then demonstrated to headquarters the astonishing scale of the mutilation puzzle, according to Valdez: “Officer Valdez stated that Colorado probably has the most mutilations occurring within their State and that over the past four years approximately 30 have occurred in New Mexico. He stated that of these 330, 15 have occurred on Indian Reservations but he did know that many mutilations have gone unreported which have occurred on the Indian reservations because the Indians, particularly in the Pueblos, are extremely superstitious and will not even allow officers in to investigate in some instances. Officer Valdez stated since the outset of these mutilations there have been an estimated 8,000 animals mutilated which would place the loss at approximately $1,000,000.”
So, where do things stand with the “Dulce Base?” Well, I’ll tell you. Today, there are a lot of rumors, not one of which has ever provided hard, undeniable proof that such an underground installation really exists. But, that the area has been a hotbed of very weird activity of the “mute” kind (and particularly in the 1970s), and that underground detonations occurred in the area, certainly makes it understandable why Dulce and its surroundings are interesting to ufologists. Unfortunately, for those who are absolutely sure that such a facility does exist below Dulce, “interesting” is about as good as it gets, right now. Unless you know better…
Science fiction is full of tales of malevolent alien races who invade Earth in an attempt to enslave, annihilate, or assimilate the human race. In most of these, ragtag bands of human survivors band together to bravely fight off these invaders and reclaim our home planet through sheer bravery and a little help from Bill Pullman.
While it’s nice to imagine that the indelible human spirit might be able to save us from extraterrestrial conquerors, the fact is that if any hypothetical alien races are advanced enough to launch a large-scale invasion on Earth, we’re probably boned from them start. Luckily, we may have a bargaining chip that we could use to bribe our way out of becoming pets for unfathomably terrifying alien masters: our own DNA.
That sobering idea was proposed this month by Daniel Helman, professor of Labor Relations and Trade Unions at Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam. Helman gave a presentation at the International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles arguing that since any advanced alien race would view our technology and commodities as inferior, our genetic material might be the most valuable thing we have to trade for our lives. “Our environment is unique, hence the genetics of all the organisms here and in the solar system are unique,” Helman argues.
Trading our own DNA would also ensure that the human race, even in test tube form, would survive any natural or man-made catastrophes which might render our planet lifeless. Helman also notes that viewing DNA as a tradable commodity in this way also serves as a “utilitarian reason to promote biodiversity” here on Earth. If there are such things as intergalactic zoosfilled with wondrous creatures from every corner of the universe – another popular theme in science fiction – the DNA of all of the other lifeforms here on Earth might be valuable as well.
Ah, the little critters of nature. They don’t know that they’re ugly.
Still, the idea isn’t sitting well among other academics who study potential human-alien interactions. Some argue that trading our DNA could make us vulnerable to genetically engineered weaponized diseases specific to our genetic code, or even make human life on Earth expendable in the eyes of superior alien races who might be able to clone new races of better humans elsewhere.
When we watch sci-fi products like Independence Day or The X-Files, we do so with the expectation that flying saucers and aliens are on the cards. Sometimes, however, UFOs show up in the movies and TV shows you’d least expect. I used to watch quite a bit of The West Wing, which ran on HBO between 1999 and 2006. And when I say, “quite a bit,” I mean I’ve seen every episode of all seven seasons at least twice (hey, it’s addictive). I was struck when watching this White House-set political drama that, among its serious thematic preoccupations of domestic and foreign policy, the subject of UFOs was occasionally and somewhat jarringly thrown into the mix.
The UFO issue features peripherally in a number of episodes spread across several seasons. Predictably, the tone of The West Wing’s UFO discussions is light-hearted, and the scenes in question rely on genre stereotypes, particularly the nerdy and obsessive UFO enthusiast, played in the show by Sam Lloyd in the role of Bob Engler. In one episode, in a meeting with Deputy White House Communications Director Sam Seaborn (Rob Lowe), Engler, a dweebish employee of US Space Command, insists that a fresh UFO tracking report be presented immediately to the President on the grounds of national security. Seaborn swiftly and disparagingly dismisses his request: “No… because the President will either yell at me or laugh at me…” Seaborn then goes on to imply that Engler should seek therapy. Still, the UFO info that Engler imparts to Seaborn quietly rattles the cocksure White House staffer. It is only at the end of the episode that Seaborn’s fears are allayed when Martin Sheen’s heroic President Bartlett casually reveals to his staff in the Oval Office that NORAD had tracked not a flying saucer that day but merely a piece of soviet space junk.
In further episodes, we get casually dismissive references to the government “covering-up aliens in New Mexico,” and to the apparently alarming percentage of young Americans who believe in UFOs. In one episode, Bob Engler of US Space Command makes a return appearance, insisting to Sam Seaborn that the government is storing an alien spacecraft in the bullion depository at Fort Knox. You get the idea. And now, thanks to the time and effort of UFO researcher Giuliano Marinkovic, you can view all the West Wing UFO references in one handy video compilation.
It is always of interest to me how the UFO topic is presented in “non-UFO” products, i.e., “serious” dramas, or products outside the worlds of sci-fi and fantasy. In our “real” world—the world of official culture—UFOs have yet to be formally acknowledged as an ontological reality with serious scientific and political implications. This is reflected in most real-world-set movies and TV shows, in which UFOs are the stuff of casual banter, and belief in them is a useful signifier of a character’s mental state.
Perhaps, in the not too distant future, as we learn more about the phenomenon, Hollywood will see fit to more thoughtfully incorporate the UFO subject into its non-genre products. Until then, we’ll have to continue to make do with throw-away lines about little green men, tinfoil hats, and deep-frozen aliens at Fort Knox.

On June 18, 2018 the witness who lives in Harrogate, GB went out for a cigarette and had a strange feeling to look up.
At first glance it just appears to be clouds but the shape just seems too perfect and it was fairly windy at the time with the clouds moving quickly past but the object just stayed still.
The witness had an uneasy feeling and that’s what prompted him to take photos.
He said that would have got video too but his Iphone has seen better days and video is not working anymore. The photographer has submitted the three impressive images of the cloaked UFO to Mufon case 92772.
A Martian dust storm rages against a NASA rover, a baby bird survives a surprise balloon adventure, Jupiter helps out in the search for aliens, and diamond dust explains a cosmic mystery — it's Space.com's best new stories of the week.

1. This rover is caught in a storm
NASA's Opportunity rover is no stranger to a Martian dust storm. But the current storm has many concerned for Opportunity's safety, as the vehicle has entered "low power fault mode" and has stopped communications. Despite concerns, however, the craft is not doomed and NASA officials are optimistic it will recover and continue.

4. Really old dust
Scientists are using interstellar dust to look back in time to before our solar system formed. This dust could help us understand how cosmic bodies like planets form.
Jupiter is not a great, or even remotely likely, candidate to host life. However, by understanding the planet's magnetic field, scientists think they might be able to better search for aliens on other worlds.

7. A lunar lawsuit
A woman claims that when she was young, she was gifted a vial of moon dust from Neil Armstrong himself. She is now in a legal battle with NASA over the vial's ownership and legitimacy.
Scientists have been observing a faint, mysterious glow originating in certain regions of our galaxy. They have now located the source of this light — diamond dust.
Three exoplanets are currently being born around a young star relatively close to our own sun. These baby alien planets are all Jupiter-like gas giants.
This month, NASA released news that its Discovery Rover had discovered organic matter on Mars.
While that's not necessarily proof of life on Mars, it's more evidence that such a thing is or could have been possible.
With that in mind, we're paying tribute to fiction's most iconic denizens of the red planet.
2. The Martians of War of the Worlds
H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds is perhaps the prototypical Martian invasion story. And Orson Welles' later radio broadcast adaptation of the classic story is the stuff of legend, having inspired real panic among folks who missed that the broadcast was fiction and not news of an actual invasion by Martians.
Welles' visual idea of the Martian's ships with their round bodies and spindly, spider-like legs has also influenced the portrayal of UFO's in popular culture for decades.
3. Dr. Manhattan
Doctor Manhattan may not be a native of Mars (like Mark Watney), but in Watchmen it's something of his home away from home, with key scenes taking place on Mars' surface.
Mars is also where Dr. Manhattan flees at the end of the story, after Ozymandias' cataclysmic plans come to fruition.
4. Uncle Martin
Ray Watson's comedic Uncle Martin may be an outdated reference to some (despite a reboot film in the 90s), but for the generations raised on black and white broadcasts and TV Land reruns, My Favorite Martian's eccentric Martian anthropologist was practically definitive.
And we'd be remiss not to mention the show's human co-star Bill Bixby, who went on to co-star with another green guy you might have heard of...
5. Amy Wong
There are a few humans who claim "Martian" status on our list (either by birth or arrival), but Futurama's Amy Wong is, well, the cutest. In fact, this Planet Express employee and daughter of Martian "Buggalo" ranchers had "cuteness reduction surgery" to make her less intimidating.
Amy's more than just unearthly cute though – over the course of Futurama's seven seasons, Amy earned her Ph.D in Applied Physics from Mars University.
6. Mark Watney
Matt Damon's character Mark Watney from Ridley Scott's 2014 film The Martian (and the original Andy Weir prose novel) isn't a native Martian... but as Watney pointed out he did colonize the planet, which is worth something. And hey, if Weir and Scott want to identify him as a Martian as the film's title indicates, who the hell are we to argue.
Bonus points go to Damon/Watney for being a Martian AND a space pirate AND doing an Iron Man impression (and following Doctor Manhattan's lead as the loneliest guy on Mars).
7. Dejah Thoris
Edgar Rice Burroughs' Dejah Thoris is perhaps the most iconic actual Martian from the author's John Carter of Mars stories – though her beautiful, human-like appearance belies her alien nature.
The green, four-armed Barsoom, the enemies of Dejah Thoris and John Carter, are much more in line with what later sci-fi Martians would look like with four arms, green skin, and monstrous forms.
. The Martians of Mars Attacks!
The chattering, blood-curdling Martians of Topps' Mars Attacks! trading cards (and comic books and movies and so on) are some of the most monstrous residents of the red planet to make our list, but they're also some of the most instantly recognizable.
And hey, if you ever find yourself face to face with some of these little green men, just call up Slim Whitman's "Indian Love Call" on Spotify and they'll all be toast.
9. Martian Manhunter
There are surprisingly few Martian superheroes in comic books – probably because when J'Onn J'Onzz arrived on Earth in 1955, the so-called Martian Manhunter cast a definitive shadow over the idea of a caped crimefighter from the red planet.
That's not to say J'Onn was the first alien superhero (Superman himself takes that honor) but his Martian origins gave rise to a whole wing of the DC Universe including characters like the villainous Hyperclan, and his heroic protege M'Gann M'Orzz, a.k.a. Miss Martian.
10. Marvin the Martian
If you ask just about anyone to name a Martian, they'll bring up Looney Tunes' megalomaniacal Marvin, the pint-sized, helmeted alien conqueror with a special hatred for Bugs Bunny.
Marvin's even made it into comic books recently, meeting the Martian Manhunter in a crossover one-shot from DC Comics.
For a few weeks in July and August, Mars will be at its closest point to Earth since 2003 and is expected to outshine Venus and Jupiter in the night sky. Not only will Mars illuminate for the casual stargazer, but close proximity to Earth will allow anyone with a telescope to get a more detailed look at the red planet’s unique features.
In 2003, Mars came within 34.9 million miles of Earth, setting a new record that had not been approached in 60,000 years. This summer will be the first time Mars and Earth rekindle that bond, slated to move within 35.8 million miles of each other on July 31, according to The Weather Channel.
Mars opposition, whereby the Earth passes directly between Red Planet, will occur July 27, and happens roughly every 26 months, according to NASA. This year, while the Earth cozies up between Mars and the sun, the red planet will also reach its closest point to the sun in its own orbit. This up-close and personal lineup is a phenomenon known as perihelion, and it’s not every day that opposition takes places within the same weeks as a perihelion. This is known as a perihelic opposition and it only occurs every 15 or 17 years.
Of course, some perihelic oppositions bring us closer to Mars than others. The orbits of Earth and Mars don’t lie on quite the same plane, and gravitational tugging from Jupiter tends to influence Mars’ orbit, meaning we won’t get as close of a reunion with Mars as we saw in 2003, but that record is expected to stand until August 28, 2287.
Mars will be its brightest to the human eye on July 31. The red planet will rise on July 30 at 8:25 p.m. Eastern, showing up Venus and the stars until it sets at 5:18 a.m. Eastern the next morning. The planet will be shining brightly throughout August.
While this celestial happening may not beat the 2003 record, witnessing the perihelic opposition does come with bragging rights. It will be the last time stargazers will see Mars this big and bright for years, as the next time Mars and Earth get this close won’t be until September 15, 2035.
Aevum's New Rocket-Drone Airplane Duo Could Launch Satellites Every 3 Hours
Aevum's New Rocket-Drone Airplane Duo Could Launch Satellites Every 3 Hours

A space launch every 3 hours may soon be possible using rockets carried on a fully autonomous unmanned airplane, a new startup company suggests.
Alabama-based startup Aevum aims to per mission, using an air-launch system called Ravn.
"Ravn is designed to launch every 180 minutes," Jay Skylus, Aevum's CEO and chief launch architect, told Space.com. "Other launch vehicles fly only a handful of times a year with an average of 18 months of lead time." [Rocket Launches: The Latest Liftoffs, Photos & Videos]
"The typical turn time, from landing to takeoff, for a commercial aircraft can range from 30 to 80 minutes," said Skylus, an aerospace engineer who worked at NASA and Boeing. "Ravn operates just like a commercial aircraft would."
Aevum is focused on launching multitudes of tiny satellites into space. Such constellations of satellites could enable advances such as "wireless internet everywhere," Skylus said.
The key to Ravn's planned launch rate is its unmanned nature, which "simplif[ies] ground operations considerably," Skylus said. "Ravn takes off and lands horizontally on any standard runway. Ravn is engineered to be autonomous from the moment it leaves the hangar from taxi, takeoff, launch, landing and taxi return to the hangar."
As such, Ravn may need a ground crew of as few as six people, Skylus said. "Compared to the ground- crew needs of other launch systems, Ravn requires at least an order of magnitude less ground-crew personnel," he said.
Aevum isn't the first company to develop an air-launch system. Northrop Grumman's Pegasus rocket has lofted dozens of satellites, and Stratolaunch Systems and Virgin Orbit are both working on rocket-carrier plane duos of their own. But these other systems all employ piloted aircraft.
The first stage of Ravn consists of a reusable, fully autonomous unmanned aircraft system designed for atmospheric flight. "The overall aerodynamic design of the vehicle has been optimized for the rocket separation," Skylus said. "The maximum speed of the Ravn first stage is Mach 2.85 [2,186 mph, or 3,519 km/h]."
This aircraft carries an expendable two-stage rocket engineered for spaceflight. The first stage of this rocket uses a proprietary fuel approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation, while the second stage relies on liquid oxygen. "The rocket engines have already been hot-fire demonstrated," Skylus said.
Skylus was inspired to ramp up the rate of satellite launches when he came across a story of U.S. soldiers killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005.
"With my own brother serving in the U.S. Army and away from home during that time, the news felt personal to me," Skylus said. "Upon research, I gained insight that communication failure was partly responsible for the losses we suffered in Afghanistan. I recall being furious that, while I could instant-message readily, people who were fighting to protect our country struggled with communication challenges."
"Determined to figure out exactly why, I dug into communication technologies and found out that, in locations where geography is the limiting factor, the communication technologies were not necessarily faulty. We just needed better satellite-revisit times and positioning — more satellites," Skylus said. "However, the cost of deploying those satellite assets was stifling progress."
In flight simulations, "Minnie, Aevum's autonomous flight software, has already completed nearly 640 flights," Skylus said. This work included the successful simulated launch "of a 30-satellite constellation in less than 3 hours," he added.
Aevum has designed, built and tested both its aerodynamic components and a prototype unmanned aircraft system. "Aevum's currently building a proto-flight Ravn vehicle and aims to complete the ground qualification of the entire proto-flight Ravn vehicle this year," Skylus said.
Aevum's customers can use the company's web app or call or email to deliver their cargo. In this sense, Aevum wants to be "the UPS or FedEx of space," Skylus said. "We take care of all the logistics and offer mission design at no cost to you, and you can book launches and track your satellite through our app."
Aevum is working toward beginning flight testing in 2019. If the entire flight test campaign goes according to plan, Aevum has three launches planned for the fourth quarter of 2019, Skylus said. "We're always seeking to connect with more customers — there's still some capacity on these three launches," he said.
"Ravn is unlike any other launch system known today," Skylus said. "Aevum's focused on providing a delivery service that will directly enable the solutions that address global challenges that cause pain every day, which include communication and connectivity."
Skylus described Aevum's work on June 2 at the Dawn of Private Space Science symposium in New York.
