LOS ANGELES — The failure of the primary air traffic control system around Los Angeles last week happened because electronic data from a single plane's flight plan confused the system's software, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

When that system failed, a backup helped safely guide flights already in the air, but hundreds of planes across the nation headed for Southern California were ordered not to take off Wednesday as an air traffic control facility north of Los Angeles effectively rebooted.

The Pentagon confirmed Monday that an Air Force U-2 spy plane was conducting training operations in the area. It is not unusual for a U-2 to operate in the region, and the necessary flight plan had been submitted for the high-flying plane, Col. Steve Warren said.

FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford would not specify whether the flight plan that caused the issue was that of the U-2.

"It was an individual flight plan and the issue had to do with the way it was coded," he said.

Since the incident, the FAA has been analyzing what went wrong with its En Route Automation Modernization system. The computer system, known as ERAM, allows air traffic controllers at several dozen "en route centers" around the country to identify and direct planes at high altitudes.

The Los Angeles en route center is located at the Palmdale Regional Airport, about 40 miles north of Los Angeles. It controls high altitude air traffic over southern and central California, southern Nevada, southwestern Utah and western Arizona — except airspace designated for military use.

When the system went down, air traffic controllers in Palmdale had to call their counterparts at neighboring centers to update them on each plane's flight plan, according to Nate Pair, the president for Los Angeles Center of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. While that was more onerous than normal operations — when computers automatically pass along updates — the system still worked, Pair said.

"Not knowing why it was happening is the reason why we decided to shut everything down," he said. "They're searching to find the cause of the glitch, and we're waiting analysis on that."

"Don't underestimate alien tech and its abilities. They are ahead of us by millions of years of tech innovations."

Or Scott, perhaps it's because the satellites used to take images for Google Earth are, by their very nature as satellites, high in the sky and as such are incapable of photographing the side of mountains, hence the stretched or 'cloaked' appearance...

Scott adds: "Also, don't allow others to intimidate you by telling you what something isn't. If you know what it is, then stick by your guns and don't back down.

"Fear of embarrassment is a key psychologic strategy that the US gov uses to keep the alien existence hidden."

So basically, if you have a wildly incorrect assumption based upon nothing but your own deluded fantasies and fuelled by paranoia then whatever you do DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU YOU'RE CRAZY!

Humans 'Not Ready' To Meet Aliens, New Study Suggests

May 7, 2014 - Humans are not yet ready to make contact with intelligent aliens, a study suggests.

Space psychologist Professor Gabriel de la Torre came to the conclusion after questioning 116 American, Italian and Spanish university students.

The survey assessed participants' knowledge of astronomy and their perception of cosmological order - the "place" things occupy in the universe.

It also touched on religious topics and the likelihood of contact with extraterrestrials.

The survey indicated that the students were ill-prepared for the momentous impact contact with ET might have on the human race, said Prof de la Torre.

Most lacked awareness of many aspects of astronomy and their views were coloured by religion.

"This pilot study demonstrates that the knowledge of the general public of a certain education level about the cosmos and our place within it is still poor," said Prof De la Torre, from the University of Cadiz in Spain.

"Therefore, a cosmic awareness must be further promoted - where our mind is increasingly conscious of the global reality that surrounds us - using the best tool available to us: education. In this respect, we need a new Galileo to lead this journey."

He added: "Regarding our relation with a possible intelligent extraterrestrial life, we should not rely on moral reference points of thought, since they are heavily influenced by religion. Why should some more intelligent beings be 'good'?"

The survey was carried out amid controversy over the on-going Active Seti (Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence) project.

Active Seti sets out to send radio messages from Earth to the stars, as well as listen for them.

It has been criticised by some experts, including top British physicist Professor Stephen Hawking. He warned of the consequences of revealing ourselves to technologically advanced beings who may not have our best interests at heart.

A high-powered message sent to the Gliese 581 system, a five-planet solar system 20 light-years away, is due to arrive in 2029.

Gliese 581 has two planets in its "habitable zone", an orbital region where temperatures are mild enough to allow liquid surface water and possibly life.

Prof de la Torre, who worked on the Mars 500 project which tested the psychological pressures on astronauts travelling to Mars, also questions the wisdom of Active Seti.

"What would happen if it was successful and 'someone' received our signal?" he said. "Are we prepared for this type of contact?"

Writing in the journal Acta Astronautica, he urges Seti scientists to look for alternative strategies.

UFO video shows blue light over Milan

A reader submitted the following UFO video to Open Minds. No details were provided with the video except that is was recorded on an iPad near the Rec Lab recording studio in Milan, Italy on the night of Wednesday, April 23.

The witness originally posted his video to Facebook:

In the video, a blue light moves through the night sky, then stops and hovers. It appears that the video was recorded from inside a vehicle. Some have suggested the UFO is just the reflection of a light inside the vehicle. Others believe the object could be an LED-adorned remote-controlled craft like a quadcopter.

Lost City of Atlantis was on Mars – Irrefutable Proof – Swiss Scientists Say

Swiss scientists say they can prove beyond a doubt that the Lost City of Atlantis was on Mars, and its astronauts traded with ancient Egypt for thousands of years!

Even more incredible, they claim to have the evidence to show that the legendary King Tut died spectacularly in a space shuttle crash with an alien crew.

“The Martian Civilization destroyed itself or was destroyed by a meteor while Egypt was still in its prime,” Dr. Stephan Weisz told a gathering of reporters and scientists in Bern, Switzerland. But the inhabitants left their mark both on Earth and Mars. Top secret photographs taken by America’s Martian probes clearly show the remains of temples on the surface of the planet.

“Egypt’s pyramids and the ability to mummify the human body are definitely the result of technologies that originated not on Earth but someplace else, in this case Mars. It is our belief that the Atlantans traded these technologies to the Egyptians for gold.”

Dr. Weisz and a colleague, Egyptologist Conrad Vetsch, said that a recently deciphered Egyptian scroll first led them to believe that Atlantis was located on Mars. The scroll describes a technologically advanced civilization existing beyond our own planet “in the vast, black ocean of space.”

It also alludes to space travel and the use of a shuttle craft to ferry manlike extraterrestrials from a space-bound mother ship to the surface of Earth.

“Researchers have long known that the Egyptians were exposed to flight because an elaborate model of what they called a glider was found in Tut’s tomb,” Dr. Weisz told the group. “In light of information gleaned from the scrolls, we now see that the glider was in fact the replica of a space shuttle. And it was just such a space craft that crashed with Tut aboard.”

Not everyone attending the conference agreed with the experts’ theories. Dr. Seth Rausch, a German historian, thinks they went too far in calling the Martian civilization Atlantis. “I don’t doubt that the Egyptians were in contact with extraterrestrials,” said the expert. “But until we actually inspect the ruins on Mars, there is no way to know if they are the remains of Atlantis.”

“In my opinion, if Atlantis did exist, it existed here on Earth.”

Norwegian astronomer Elling Gade agreed. “Atlantis might have been the colony of an alien civilization. But it most definitely was located on this planet,” he said.

US Government Proves Billy Meier right about Climate Change…63 Years Later

As everyone probably knows by now, a new, 840 page government report on the euphemistically described “climate disruption” has been issued.

The report, which focuses mainly on the US-related impact of climate change, comes as no surprise to those who’ve followed Billy Meier’s prophetic warnings, beginning in 1951:

“24. And also therewith overpopulation will bear the guilt, because overpopulation will become monstrously negative and will thereby give rise to an unnatural climate change that in only one decade from today will already begin to effect the world very detrimentally.”

Of course it’s not politically, religiously or economically correct yet to address the underlying cause of all of this,…overpopulation. A mere mention of the word has people screaming hysterically about the “evil elite and their plans for genocide”, etc. (Screaming has, however, become just a little more difficult, due to the decline in the quality of the air from air pollution, etc.)

In fact, the new report even echoes Meier’s own predictions – from 63 years ago – of increases in the intensity and frequency of hurricanes and storms:

“23. Landslides and avalanches, as well as earthquakes and seaquakes as well as every kind of storms will prevail; gales and typhoons, hurricanes and tornados will increase ever more in their numbers and will become ever more violent and destructive.”

Droughts, floods, wildfires and heat waves are highlighted in this article about the report, which also informs us that hundreds of top scientists were involved in preparing it and that “…the warming of the past 50 years is primarily due to human-induced emissions of heat-trapping gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. These emissions come mainly from the burning of coal, oil and gas, the report states.”

Meier not only spelled out other related manifestations of these manmade causes in his 1951 letter:

“21. Through the guilt of the people, all storms will assume increasing and more violent forms, such as hail storms, blizzards and flooding rains, as however also the ozone-layer will become very dangerously damaged.”

…but elaborated upon the resultant consequences that are only now being “discovered”, in 1958:

“123.) But still the human will be obstinate and not listen to the words, advice and warnings of the prophets and the wise, yet that will be avenged, as violent fires will destroy great forests, villages and towns and demand many human lives, because the conflagrations will have primeval force and drive people from their native homelands which will be robbed by unscrupulous plundering, as it will also be in the villages and towns that will be abandoned because of seaquakes and earthquakes and because of storms.”

In case there’s any doubt at all about what Meier predicted – a doomsday script that humanity appears to be faithfully following while being unaware of its existence – he spelled it (and global warming) out quite clearly:

“54.) Through the madness of his overpopulation, the human has already detrimentally altered the world and the climate in such a way that a climbing climatic warming becomes apparent that will be carried far into the Third Millennium and release monstrous natural catastrophes, yet that will not be the end, because everything goes further in the same style and at the beginning of the Third Millennium more than seven billion people will be on the Earth, which will lead to even greater harm and to destruction worldwide because on one hand nature strikes back in vengeance and on the other hand, the human undertakes everything which will destroy the entire environment and life.”

Please don’t trouble yourself trying to understand just why the government, media, environmental groups, etc., etc., haven’t long pointed Meier’s impeccably prophetically accurate scientific out…let alone attempted to do something about it, long ago.

In fact, Meier actually and of course presciently sums it all up quite nicely:

“127.) And in the Third Millennium the time comes when big parts of the continents disappear and the people will have to flee to the mountains, yet their sense of the catastrophes will only be of short duration, because they will forget everything again quickly and therefore make an effort to do much rebuilding, because they are already creating phantasmagoria, through movies and television, as well as later through a worldwide netting of computers and electronics, through which they deceive themselves and see things that do not exist, and are only visually determined for the eye, subsequently their sense for reality disappears and they can no longer distinguish between reality and fiction, whereby they lose themselves more and more in the labyrinth of life, while those who produce phantasms commercially as well as religious and sectarian phantasms, have an easy game with the people of faith, who they deceive in every possible manner and make them into humble beings, like cringing dogs.”

Perhaps you noticed that he not only foresaw and described this pathetically lost generation of shallow thinking, overly entertained techno-addicts, he tosses in predicting the internet for good measure (gotcha, Al Gore).

To be completely accurate though, he already hinted at it, in his 1951 letter when he said:

35. Televisions, already invented, will belong to every family and, as well, to everyday life, as will the technology of the computer, which is already being worked on diligently in America, Germany, Japan and the Soviet Union.

…and I think he actually gets the nod here for the internet since he mentions “information media” and “public advertising”:

36. The television and the computer will become the most important information media, however also, as significant forms for the public advertising of prostitution.

And so, to all the utterly spineless, self-centered, profit-oriented, irresponsible people in the governments, media and other positions of power to whom this information has been sent consistently for over 63 years, who are stuck in their greed and religious and political correctness, as well as those of us who complain, “What can I, just one person, do?” and have consequently done nothing, who’ve littered the virtual landscape with phony screen names, belying delusional, ego-bloated false personas from which are launched anonymous, derisive, cynical, sniping comments and attacks on the terrestrial and extraterrestrial sources of this information, intended as it has been to help us help ourselves to assure our own future survival…you/we can run but you/we can’t hide.

Ever hear of the immutable law of…cause and effect?

The Big Grey Man of Ben MacDhui

In 1925, a respected and well known climber Professor Norman Collie reported to a stunned audience at a meeting of the Cairngorm Club his experiences with the Fear Liath Mor (as the ‘Big Grey Man’ is known locally) on Ben MacDhui in 1891. Collie explained that he had been coming down from the peak when he heard footsteps behind him. At first, shrouded in mist, he rationalized that it must just have been an echo of his own footfalls.

“I was returning from the cairn on the summit in a mist when I began to think I heard something else than merely the noise of my own footsteps. Every few steps I took I heard a crunch, then another crunch as if someone was walking after me but taking steps three or four times the length of my own. I said to myself ‘this is all nonsense’. I listened and heard it again but could see nothing in the mist. As I walked on and the eerie crunch, crunch sounded behind me I was seized with terror and took to my heels, staggering blindly among the boulders for four or five miles nearly down to Rothiemurchus Forest. Whatever you make of it I do not know, but there is something very queer about the top of Ben MacDhui and will not go back there again by myself I know.”

Collie never returned to the mountain, and to his dying day firmly believed there was “something very queer about Ben MacDhui.”

Ben Macdhui is the biggest mountain in the Cairngorms, Scotland and the second highest in the UK. The summit rises from the southern part of a huge sub-arctic upland unique in the British Isles. It is a harsh environment where nothing grows except the hardiest of alpine plants. When the cloud rolls in summits can be shrouded for days…in winter the weak northern sun often does not penetrate the deep glens for weeks.

During the World War II, Peter Densham was a mountain rescue worker, locating and saving pilots who had crashed in the Cairngorms. One day he was at the top of Ben MacDhui when a heavy mist started to fall. He sat and waited for conditions to improve. After a while he began to hear strange crunching noises and suddenly felt a presence close by. He stood up to investigate, but was immediately seized by a feeling of panic. Before he realized what was happening, he was running down the mountain, dangerously close to the sheer cliff edge. He said afterwards ‘I tried to stop myself and found this extremely difficult to do. It was as if someone was pushing me. I managed to deflect my course, but with a great deal of difficulty.’ Densham would later state:

“…tell me that the whine was but the result of relaxed eardrums, and the Presence was only the creation of a mind that was accustomed to take too great an interest in such things. I shall not be convinced. Come, rather, with me at the mysterious dusk time when day and night struggle upon the mountains. Feel the night wind on your faces, and hear it crying amid rocks. See the desert uplands consumed before the racing storms. Though your nerves be of steel, and your mind says it cannot be, you will be acquainted with that fear without name, that intense dread of the unknown that has pursued mankind from the very dawn of time.”

Another mountaineer Alexander Tewnion wrote an account of his 1943 experience for The Scots Magazine:

“Of all the experiences that have come my way, one stands out above all others in its strangeness. This was when I shot the Fear Liath Mor, the Big Grey Man of Ben Macdhui. It happened like this. In October 1943 I spent a ten day leave climbing alone in the Cairngorms. Rations were short then, and I carried a revolver and ammunition to shoot any hares or ptarmigan that came my way. One afternoon, just as I reached the summit cairn of Ben Macdhui, mist swirled across the Lairig Ghru and enveloped the mountain. The atmosphere became dark and oppressive, a fierce, bitter wind whisked among the boulders, and, fearing a storm was imminent, I took hurriedly to the Coire Etchachan path. Above Loch Etchachan the path angles easily downhill. I was swinging along at about five miles an hour when an odd sound echoed through the mist – a loud footstep, it seemed. Then another, and another. Spaced at long intervals!”

“I am not unduly imaginative, but my thoughts flashed instantly to the well-known story of Professor Norman Collie and the Fear Liath Mor. Then I felt the reassuring weight of the loaded revolver in my pocket. Grasping the butt I peered about in the mist, here rent and tattered by eddies of wind. A strange shape loomed up, receded, came charging at me! Without hesitation I whipped out the revolver and fired three times at the figure. When it still came on I turned and hared down the path, reaching Glen Derry in a time I have never bettered since. You may ask, was it really the Fear Liath Mor? Frankly, I think it was. Many times since then I have traversed Macdhui in mist, bivouacked on it in the open, camped near its summit for days on end on different occasions – often alone, and always with an easy mind. For on that day I am convinced I shot the only Fear Liath Mor my imagination will ever see.”

Since that time, many people have reported a strange being or felt an overpowering sense of impending doom or panic while on the mountain. One of the most recent encounters occurred in the early 1990’s when three men were walking in a forest just outside Aberdeen. One of the men noticed a human-shaped figure running across the trail not too far ahead of them. He told his friends, and when they all looked in the same direction they saw what they described as ‘a strange, not-quite-human face.’  A few weeks later, the same group was driving in the area when they realized they were being followed by the same tall, dark being. The creature kept pace, even at speeds of 45 miles an hour, but eventually tired and gave up the chase. Again, these men felt a distinct sense of terror and foreboding.

What is the Grey Man of Ben MacDhui? Some say that it’s merely a myth…that climbers of Ben MacDhui are letting the high altitude, grim surroundings and legends get the best of them, making them perceive they see something that isn’t actually there. But in many cases, those who have seen and experienced the phenomena are respected scientists and mountain climbers…the sort of witnesses who should not be prone to suggestion.

One theory is that the mountain is home to Bigfoot-like hominids. In fact, in 1965, huge footprints were found in the snow. They measured 14 inches and seemed to show a creature with an enormous five foot stride between footsteps. But the hominid theory has many detractors. While the Cairngorm Mountains are rugged, they are not comparable to the Himalayas or other major ranges where these hominids have been reported to roam. Could a breeding population of humanoids stay mostly hidden in such an area for centuries?

Almost all the reports have a strong paranormal/supernatural aspect to them. In many cases, the Grey Man seems more like a demon or a ghost than a living, breathing creature. Then there is an extraterrestrial or alternate universe theory…namely, that these creatures are able to move in and out between our world and another plane. Many visitors to the mountain notice sensations of strangeness, depression and terror…some have actually noticed ‘boundries’ where these emotions suddenly start and stop. Novelist Joan Grant’s experience on the mountain gives a excellent account of this phenomenon. Overcome by sudden fear while climbing the mountain, she became convinced something was pursuing her. She ran down the mountainside and described “I had run about a half a mile when I burst through an invisible barrier behind which I knew I was safe. I knew I was safe now, though a second before I had been in mortal danger; knew it as certainly as though I were a torero who has jumped the barrier in front of a charging bull.” Prof. Collie and most all other “victims” of Ben MacDhui described this same feeling of passing through a barrier and becoming “safe”. Ben MacDhui also has a strange, almost subliminal “ringing” or singing that is literally felt in the air. This tone has no explainable source other the mountain itself.

Just getting back from a little “urban exploring” at the abandoned Sleighton Farm School in Glen Mills, PA. It was a reformatory school for girls from the 1910s until 2001. It consists of several “cottages” that housed the girls, which are huge 3 level buildings with huge basements and attics. There is also a gym, administration building, a church and garages as well as a house. Every building has an entry point somewhere, so everywhere is accessible. This is the 5th time we’ve gone there, and the second at night with nothing but the flashlight on our phones.

This time we decided to try to find the pool that one of our friends mentioned, so we headed in a direction that we hadn’t explored before. We found two buildings with bathrooms that could’ve served as changing rooms, but couldn’t find a pool. We did find a swamp, and that’s where the paranormal story begins.

My girlfriend claims to have seen a black entity standing out in the swamp. She discredited it as I would’ve too because it was so dark out there, but according to her, it began to follow us as we retraced our steps towards the main road that runs through the property. She says it followed us as we made our way to the church, which is at the other end of the property. For whatever reason she didn’t mention it to us, probably out of fear of either how it would react or how we would.

When we got to the church, my friend and his girlfriend had to pee, so my girlfriend and I went in ahead of them as they took care of business outside. The only opening to the church is to a set of stairs that either go up to the church or down to the basement. We had been to the basement before and there isn’t much there besides an old piano and popped drums. As soon as we went up to the rectory area (which would be where the actual front doors are) I heard a distinct “ha ha ha” come from the small room upstairs (which we believe was a bedroom) followed by shuffling and creaking. We both heard the noises and froze, before I grabbed her and ran outside, right as my friend and girlfriend we’re going in. We told them what we heard, and of course we had to investigate it.

We went upstairs and checked out the room and found nothing of course. We stayed up there for a few minutes, just chatting. Until I noticed that my girlfriend kept looking behind me, with that pale, I-just-saw-a-ghost face. I could tell she was really freaked out and had seen something. She wouldn’t answer any of our questions or even respond, but it was obvious that she was shook.

As we went to leave the church we saw a cop patrolling the area, and for him to be all the way back there, he probably saw my car and was looking for people. So we went back to the church and killed our lights, my friend keeping his on in his pocket, giving off just enough light to see in front of you. After awhile, we made our way back to the car.

It took about an hour for my girlfriend to actually say what she saw. Apparently, this black entity followed us to the church, where it began to get closer and closer. When we were in the upper room of the church, she said it was getting very close to my and my friends head. She says that it was a solid black mass, and could not see through it. She said that it was taller than I am, and I’m 6’5″. She said it appeared as a figure, with a head and arms, but no distinguishable face. According to her, it would sway from side to side, and there was no point that it wasn’t with us since getting to the swamp until we got back to the car.

Even though I didn’t see it myself, I’m inclined to believe her. She’s not the type to make something like this up, especially be able to act so freaked out. So, is it possible for a black entity to show itself to only one person out of a group, or did she make it up?

EDIT: it’s been a few hours since this happened, and my girlfriend is talking and groaning in her sleep. I’ve lived with her for over a year and this is the first time it’s happened. Probably unrelated, but who knows. – Reddit.com

Area 51 museum exhibit reopening

The Area 51 exhibit at the National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada is scheduled to reopen on May 17, 2014.

This exhibit, titled Area 51: Myth or Reality?, debuted on March 26, 2012 at the Smithsonian-affiliated museum. The exhibit materialized because former Area 51 employees were looking for a place to share their stories about recently declassified projects that took place at the top secret military installation.

Although the exhibit features information and displays related to military aircraft projects, it also features several installations related to alleged extraterrestrial happenings at the base. The initial exhibit even featured strange debris labeled “Authentic Alien Artifact.”

The museum has hosted special UFO lectures since its opening in 2012 including one that featured former military personnel discussing UFOs.

The museum’s Area 51 exhibit has been closed temporarily while the staff works to expand and upgrade its offerings. Once it reopens on May 17, museum director Allan Palmer says this temporary exhibit will be open for another two years. The special grand reopening event will feature special guests including Area 51 experts like investigative journalist George Knapp who is credited with first introducing Area 51 to the public. – OpenMinds

Woman tells of her life plagued by UFO abductions including encounter in Cardiff

Hilary Porter claims to have been abducted by aliens more times than she can count, including once while travelling near Cardiff

The 67-year-old says she has been visited by creatures from other worlds more times than she can count including once when near Cardiff.

“I have been an alien abductee all my life,” Hilary said.

“I didn’t choose this life. I didn’t ask for any of this, but it has been happening for as long as I can remember.”

Hilary will be among more than 100 people at a national conference this month organised by the Anomalous Mind Management, Abductee, Contactee, Helpline Project (Ammach). She will share her story and compare notes with others who claim to have similar experiences.

The first close encounter she recalls came when she was five and playing in the long grass in a field behind her home.

She told the Mirror: “Suddenly there was a reptilian alien in front of me. It had scaly skin, black holes on the nose and a little mouth.

“It wasn’t very tall – maybe 5ft, but very strong. It grabbed my arms and pulled me towards a disc in a depression in the field. It dragged me underneath into a lift and the door slid closed.

UPS Accidentally Delivers Pieces Of A Government Drone To The Wrong Person

A New York college student mistakenly received parts of a government drone delivered by a UPS truck.

A Reddit user named Seventy_Seven posted a thread on the website with the heading, “I think I just got a drone in the mail.”

His pictures show a case and other electronic components he guesses could be wings and a control panel.

The box also had a card that said the items were federal property and should be returned to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration office in Tampa, Fla.

Though an odd box, I genuinely thought it was parts for the bench I ordered, since I wasn’t expecting a freaking drone.

What the college student didn’t know was that the items was part of a $350,000 Puma unmanned aerial system. Seven other boxes were delivered to the correct address at a government facility in Massachusetts, but the eighth box for some reason was sent to the Reddit user.

Seventy_Seven said he first tried to tell UPS that it had sent him the wrong package, but the company said it was his to keep. He said he thought he would wait a bit to track down the owner, but after seeing comments and media reports about the objects, he said he would contact the agency and return the item.

NOAA spokesman David Miller told the Daily News that the agency was in touch with the Reddit user and was working with UPS to get the components to their destination.

The Holland County, Michigan UFO Incident – 911 Emergency Audio Recordings

On the evening of March 8, 1994, residents of Southwest Michigan began seeing strange things in the skies over Lake Michigan to the south of Holland. Blue, white, red, and green lights, sometimes attached to cylindrical objects, and sometimes performing unusual maneuvers, were reported.

911 operators began receiving calls at around 9:30 p.m. about something that looked like “a string of Christmas lights way up in the sky.” It wasn’t just a few people reporting these things; it was counties all up and down Lake Michigan. Some sources said 300 witnesses, including several police officers, saw the lights.

There were so many reports that one of the Ottawa County 911 operators decided to call the National Weather Service radar operator at Muskegon. The conversations that 911 had with the NWS operator were taped and later made their way into the media. The radar operator’s voice could be heard describing abrupt movements of the object and multiple objects appearing on the radar screen. He said that what he was seeing could not be precipitation, especially at that height. One object was tracked moving twenty miles in ten seconds.

Holland police officer Jeff Vellhouse spoke to the operator of the Muskegon radar that picked up the radar tracks: “He said he had three things on his radar, and they were in a triangular shape. He said they hovered over Holland and moved southwest. He said that one would move out of the triangular pattern, then move back in.”

The radar operator also reported:

“There were three and sometimes four blips, and they weren’t planes. Planes show as pinpoints on the scope, these were the size of half a thumbnail. They were from 5 to 12,000 feet at times, moving all over the place. Three were moving toward Chicago. I never saw anything like it before, not even when I’m doing severe weather.”

It was said that there was no NWS written or taped records of the radar contacts themselves, but Dave Reinhart of BIMUP( Bureau of Investigators of Mysteries & Unusual Phenomena) claimed to have received copies of the NWS radar operator’s report in late 1994. He also said that he had talked to an individual referred to as “Fred”, who worked at Area 51 and who had knowledge that what occurred on the night of March 8, 1994 was some sort of rendezvous of ufos from the east, west, north, and south.

Scott Ruiter of Grand Haven saw the lights in Grand Haven Township at 10:30 p.m. March 7: “It looked like about five airplanes following each other fairly closely. One would blink, then the other, other and other, right to left,”

The National Weather Service later tried to downplay the radar trackings: “There is no relation between the UFOs and the radar tracks,” said Dean Gulezian, the weather service’s area manager for Michigan. Gulezian said that although the radar did show some echoes, “One key thing is the eyewitnesses saw these things at tree-top level,” while the radar echoes were from analtitude of 10,000 feet or higher. (Right…Note above where the first witnesses reported seeing something like a string of Christmas lights “way up in the sky”)

Randee Murphy and her husband, of Ada Township, observed a “huge” shape for about two minutes as it flew slowly about 100 feet over the woods outside their home. “It had four lights,” she said, and “made a soft, whirring noise. It sounded like a single jet engine.”

The Michigan flap continued for several days, presumably ending on the 10th. The sightings were never  explained.

The Voynich Manuscript: Unsolved Riddle

The Voynich Manuscript is an illustrated handwritten codex utilizing an undecipherable text.  It was carbon dated from the early 1400s and might be of Italian Renaissance Era.  A Polish book dealer bought it in 1912.  Even though some pages are missing 240 remain.

It has been studied by some of the worlds best cryptographers and code breakers from the wars and they still cannot make heads nor tails of it. 

To me, the script looks as if it's written for reading in a mirror – it seems almost reversed, but then no one really knows the origin of this “language.” 

To add to the mystery even more, it shows illustrations of sunflowers, which were not found in Italy in that time period.  Some have come up with the theory that the manuscript was written by a secret order of people hoping to pass on knowledge.  There many dozens of researchers who have spent decades a piece trying to decode this book with no strides. Some have come forward with possibilities, but are shot down by others. It may remain a mystery for all time, or it may just draw more people into its unsolvable riddle until they go nearly blind studying it.

The “bell” yielding strange effects – it buzzed like a beehive glowed bluish, induced biological effects such as the gel and separation of liquids and many disorders of the nervous system.

The project at the end of the war disappeared from the scene, along with SS General Hans Kammler, in charge of the secret projects of the Third Reich, and the last (and only one of two ever built) Ju-390. There is no trace of all, whether they disappeared together, remains speculation.
