The Pentagon's Report Cleared Up Absolutely Nothing About UFOs
Here's What You Need to Remember: To a certain strand of believer, the Pentagon's conclusions mean that the only possible explanation for the UFOs isextraterrestrial activity—a conclusion that the Pentagon report does not support but does not explicitly rule out.
In December 2020, Congress passed the “Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021”, a 5,500-page omnibus bill covering a variety of housekeeping issues. The bill is better remembered for approving the second round of $600 stimulus checks, but it also included thousands of other minor requests—one of which, unusually, required the Pentagon to compile a report on unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
The term “UFO” broadly refers to any aerial phenomenon for which there is no explanation. The Pentagon was instructed to provide the report within six months; it was released on June 25, shortly before the deadline (you can read it here). However, the nine-page report does not contain much; the Pentagon has concluded that it has no definitive answers regarding UFOs. Of the 144 “unexplained aerial phenomena” it examined, it was unable to find an explanation for 143 of them and concluded that it could not rule anything out. For those who hoped that the Pentagon could shed some light on the UFO question, the report’s conclusions are most likely disappointing.
Moreover, more than simply a fount for fringe conspiracy theories, “unexplained aerial phenomena,” as the Pentagon describes them, have been described as a national security threat. Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told an Ohio news station that, “If there are objects flying over military installations that could pose a security threat … [it] needs to be declassified and revealed to American public. […] If there’s something out there, let’s seek it out, and it is probably a foreign power.”
However, security experts have cast doubt on the idea that the mysterious aircraft are the work of a foreign government, noting that such aircraft would have required an enormous technological leap within a foreign country’s aerospace agencies, all of which operate with a small fraction of the capital of the U.S. defense budget. It would have also required an enormous failure on the part of U.S. intelligence agencies responsible for monitoring other nations’ aerospace programs.
To a certain strand of believer, these conclusions mean that the only possible explanation for the UFOs is extraterrestrial activity—a conclusion that the Pentagon report does not support but does not explicitly rule out. For those who do not believe in aliens, though, the UFO mystery will simply remain a mystery—and the truth, whatever it is, is still out there.

According to the theory of an American physicist, “an ancient Martian civilization was destroyed with nuclear bombs, which, he warns, could also attack the Earth.”
John E. Brandeburg, plasma physicist at the company ‘Orbital technologies’, has been arguing since 2011 that the red color of Mars is due to an explosion of thermonuclear origin.
“The surface of Mars is covered in radioactive substances such as uranium, thorium, and radioactive potassium.”
“A nuclear explosion could have left debris all over the planet,” he then told Fox News, presenting his strange theory.
Since then, the scientist has delved into his idea, according to which the explosion was caused by an intelligent extraterrestrial race, reports ‘Daily Mail’.
The conclusion of their latest report holds that “nuclear isotopes in the atmosphere of Mars resemble hydrogen bomb tests.”
Which, according to his theory, shows that we are dealing with “an example of a civilization destroyed by a nuclear attack from space.”
Their research is based on the high concentration of Xenon-129 in the Martian atmosphere and the uranium and thorium found on the surface by NASA’s Odyssey spacecraft.
According to his theory, the red planet had two ancient Martian civilizations.
According to the physicist, who even reveals their names – Cydonians and Utopians – these alien races had a level of technology similar to that of the ancient Egyptians.
For their part, scientists point out that the appearance of these elements on Mars is not surprising, since they are natural elements that are found everywhere.
The physicist maintains that before the explosion, Mars had a climate similar to that of Earth, as did plant and animal life.
This version, he claims, suggests that we too should fear an attack on our own planet.
“So a manned mission to Mars should be organized to find out what we’re up against.”

What are the mysterious lights that appear on the Moon?
For years, many people have seen and reported flashes of light on the Moon. That it could be? Strange lights in Earth’s atmosphere? Signs of extraterrestrial visitors?
It happens several times a week. Sometimes it is just brief flashes of light that appear on the surface. Others last longer, and sometimes there are places that are temporarily darkened.
One hypothesis is that they are caused by meteorite impacts or may be electrically charged solar wind particles that react with lunar dust. Who knows?
In space, there are lots of tiny fragments of rock and other materials that, from time to time, hit a planet or the Moon.
When they do so against the Earth, they usually burn when they enter the atmosphere and give rise to so-called meteors (also known as “shooting stars”).
But the Moon has no atmosphere, so when these small rocks collide with it, they hit its surface directly, producing a brief flash.
“These transient lunar phenomena have been known since the 1950s, but they have not been observed systematically and long-term enough,” experts explain.
When will we return to the moon?
Last year, the NASA administrator assured that they have duplicated plans to return to the Moon and land on Mars and explained that the organization is on the way for humans to return to our satellite again by 2028.
The plan is based on the development of a space launch system on the Orion spacecraft in conjunction with the Gateway orbital platform.
“We will go to the Moon in the next decade with new technologies and innovative systems to explore more places on its surface,” says the scientist.
“This time, when we arrive, we will stay. We will use what we learn as we move forward to make the next big leap: send astronauts to Mars, ”he adds.

I spoke with Don Phillips when he told me, “These UFOs were huge and they would just come to a stop and do a 60-degree, 45-degree, 10 degrees turn, and then immediately reverse this action”. And it is obvious they don’t like us being here”.…When I was working with the Skunkworks with Kelly Johnson, we signed an agreement with the government to keep very quiet about this. Anti-gravitational research was going…. We know that there were some captured craft from 1947 in Roswell, they were real. And, yes, we really did get some technology from them. And, yes, we really did put it to work…. We knew each other from what we call unseen industry. We can term it black, deep black, or hidden.
The knowledge I have of these technologies came from the craft that were captured here. I didn’t see the craft, nor did I see the bodies, but I certainly know some of the people that did. There was no question that there are beings from outside the planet. Are these ET people hostile? Well, if they were hostile, with their weaponry they could have destroyed us a long time ago…. When will our Sun die?According to a study in the journal Nature Astronomy, the Sun will ‘die’ in 5 to 10 billion years. Stars, like the Sun, start to ‘die’ when they’ve burnt all of their hydrogen fuel.
At this point, they expand and become a very large kind of star called a red giant.
It’s thought this stage will happen to our Sun in around five billion years. The Sun may send a blast through space that can disrupt virtually all electrical power grids and satellites.
The Sun is predicted to expand so much it would engulf Mars and Earth as if puffs up into a red giant.
It’s thought humans would have died out way before then unless we can find a way to leave planet Earth and exist somewhere else. The 2018 study suggests, at this rate, humans only have around one billion years left. This is because the Sun is predicted to get 10% brighter every billion years and this could create some major issues for life on Earth. During the summer of 1952, Americans reported a record amount of UFO sightings to Project Blue Book, the Air Force group responsible for investigating unidentified flying objects. Author/Illustrator Frank C. Feschino, Jr. has written an exciting book that encompasses the summer of 1952 and America’s overwhelming UFO problem during that time. The author documents the numerous aerial encounters and confrontations that occurred between United States fighter planes and UFOs over America.
I spoke with Frank who spent 18 years searching for data to put in his excellent book. He told me that in July of 1952, an Air Force information officer revealed, “The jet pilots are, and have been under orders to investigate unidentified objects and to shoot them down if they can’t talk them down.” Feschino writes about the overwhelming amount of mysterious fighter plane accidents and vanished jets that occurred during the 1950s. In 1952the Air Force lost 2,274 planes and the Navy lost 2,086 aircraft. I congratulate Frank Feschino for finding the story of our missing airmen in his many years of research into the UFO phenomena. “Shoot Them Down” is an important historical record of the deaths of brave men who were ordered to engage UFOs. Not only to hunt them down, but as Lt. Col. Moncel Monts is quoted in the book; “The jet pilots are and have been under orders to investigate unidentified objects and to shoot them down if they can’t talk them down”. We were losing a plane a day.

One can perhaps understand the reluctance of the government to admit that such losses have occurred (even though Major General Roger Ramey admitted in 1952 that more than 300 interceptors have been scrambled).” “Impotence in the face of intruders is not something that governments want to admit.”

It is sad to know that many governments kept a lid on these engagements. The deaths of many airmen were attributed to pilot error or engine failure when in reality they had died in air combat with craft not of this world. It is time to honor these men who died in aerial battles with UFO’s after being scrambled to hunt them down.

After eight months of intensive investigation, the following conclusions have been reached by TRUE Magazine:
For the past 175 years, the planet Earth has been under systematic close-range examination by living, intelligent observers from another planet.
The intensity of this observation, and the frequency of the visits to the Earth’s atmosphere by which it is being conducted, have increased markedly during the past two years.
The vehicles used for this observation and for interplanetary transport by the explorers have been identified and categorized as follows: Type I, a small, no pilot-carrying disk-shaped aircraft equipped with some form of television or impulse transmitter; T
Type II, a very large (up to 250 feet in diameter) metallic, disk-shaped aircraft operating on the
Helicopter principle: Type III, a dirigible-shaped, wingless aircraft which, in the Earth’s atmosphere, operates in conformance with the Prandtl theory of lift.
The discernible pattern of observation and exploration shown by the so-called “flying disks” varies in no important particular from well-developed American plans for the exploration of space expected to come to fruition within the next fifty years. There is reason to believe, however, that some other race of thinking beings is a matter of two and a quarter century ahead of us.The only other possible explanation is that the “saucers” are extremely high-speed, long-range devices developed here on Earth. Such an advance (which the Air Force has convincingly denied) would require an almost incredible leap in technical progress even for American scientists and designers. This UFO is very clear compared to most and shows a long cylindrical object. We can all see from this evidence that the object in the photo is solid. UFOs are seen near the ISS frequently even though NASA tries to limit observation time on individual cameras. The best stuff is deleted from public archives. Notice the similarity to the craft near the International Space Station and the craft photographed on the moon. This is an incredible discovery by French researchers using Google Moon to find structures.

Warsaw — I caught this object on the 9th of July 2020 over Poland. While taking the pictures I didn’t see anything strange in the sky.

Littleton — I was in my backyard looking up in the sky and I noticed a bright flash, so I got my camera and started taking pictures and a video of a Cylinder like spinning object. Pictures were taken on May 8, 2020.

Clermont – on September8, 2021, we first observed the object hovering I would estimate at about 1000 feet. When I got over the shock, I called my wife and daughter later and it was gone. My wife spotted it to the east now about 10 miles away and that’s when we took the pictures and video.

Cuban Missile Crisis

The Cuban Missile Crisis started in the beginning of October 1962 when a U-2 photographed at 75,000 feet a Soviet buildup of Soviet equipment that was a direct and dangerous confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union. It was the moment when the two superpowers came closest to nuclear War.
KB-50 tanker refueling aircraft
I was flying in a tanker refueling RF-101s about 50 miles from Cuba on October 16, 1962, when our radio blurted out, “Captain Filer report immediately to General Sweeny office at Tactical Air Command Headquarters!” I thought I was in serious trouble. I was flown to Langley Air Force Base and reported into General Sweeney and TAC Intelligence. I possessed an above Top-Secret clearance and that is why they wanted me.
Immediately photos of nuclear missiles from Cuba were put in a brief case attached to my wrist with hand cuffs and I was flown to Andrews Air Force Base and raced by car to the Pentagon, Washington D.C. General LeMay would show the photos to President Kennedy and other members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
RF-101’ Voodoos aircraft low level reconnaissance of Cuba
Our reconnaissance RF-101’ Voodoo aircraft were flying over Cuba at a couple hundred feet altitude at a thousand mph on an hourly bases to film 100s of Soviet SS-4 and SS-5 Ballistic Nuclear missiles with that could have probably destroyed the United States. The film was flown to Langley Air Force Base and processed, and my job was it to take the latest film to General LeMay at Air Force Headquarters in the Pentagon. I was carrying photos to General Curtis LeMay’s office sometimes twice a day. He had beautiful secretaries that led me into his office on opened the photographic in the case. I saluted but LeMay seemed more interested in chewing his cigar.
The Soviets were building at least nine sites—six for R-12 medium-range missiles (NATO designation SS-4 Sandal) with an effective range of 1,200 miles and three for R-14 intermediate-range ballistic missiles (NATO designation SS-5 Skean) with a maximum range of 2,800 miles. This is one of the photos I carried.
Note: During the Cuban Crisis I was a above top secret courier between General Walter Sweeney the Commander of Tactical Air Command (TAC) and General LeMay the Commander of the Air Force.
General Curtis LeMay
I was visiting the Pentagon and carrying Top Secret photographs of Soviet Missiles just taken by RF 101 reconnaissance aircraft. General Sweeney had told me to tell General Curtis LeMay “We can guarantee to knock out a couple hundred Soviet nuclear missiles sites spread around Cuba and Soviet IL–28 bombers capable of carrying nuclear bombs.”
The Joint Chiefs of Staff — argued for an immediate military response including air strikes to destroy the missiles before they could be armed and made ready for launch, followed by a full-scale military invasion of Cuba.
The State Department and advisers favored a purely diplomatic response including strongly worded warnings to Castro and Khrushchev they hoped would result in the supervised removal of the Soviet missiles. LeMay felt that would not work and get us all killed.
President Kennedy President meets with General Walter Sweeney Commander of the Tactical Air Command who tells him that an air strike could not guarantee 100% destruction of the missiles. Some could be hidden.
General LeMay also wanted to attack the missile sites. He told me to tell Sweeney, “Make sure you’re ready and on alert to attack. If we lose a plane, I want to attack the SAM Site that knocked on of our planes down.” Sweeney kept saying we are ready; we’ve got planes ready to attack in every military and civilian airfield in Florida.” TAC Intelligence working around the clock preparing detailed targets for the TAC fighters and Bombers. Interestingly the civilian intelligence personnel left at 5 o’clock. I’m making trips back and forth every day.
CIA U-2 Reconnaissance Aircraft
Then a high-flying CIA U-2 was shot down by a Soviet Sam Site and I expected the order would go to strike the Sam Site and probably start World War III. Frontally President Kennedy would not give the order to attack, but the Navy was ordered to conduct a naval blockade of Cuba as a restrained military action. They were told to intercept all Soviet ships and turn them back.
The Cuban Missile Crisis came to an end by agreements between JFK and Khrushchev. They agreed that the missiles in Cuba would be removed if the US missiles in Turkey be removed.
The Cuban Missile Crisis was a tense 13-day-long (October 16-28, 1962) confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union triggered by America’s discovery of nuclear-capable Soviet ballistic missile deployment in Cuba. Soviet First Secretary Nikita Khrushchev was persuaded by the idea of countering the US’s growing lead in developing and deploying strategic missiles by placing Soviet intermediate-range nuclear missiles in Cuba.
Editor’s Note I was told by a Colonel escorting me to General LeMay’s office that an Exterrestrials alien from Venus lived in the Pentagon and he showed me a green door next to a restaurant area to his apartment. I asked to meet the alien, but I was refused.

President Eisenhower is usually the first name that comes to mind when discussing the White House’s knowledge of an alien presence.
Though he didn’t immediately succeed him, Nixon was Eisenhower’s Vice President, making the ufological connection all the more intriguing. It was also relatively well known that Nixon believed in the existence of UFOs and extraterrestrials, but according to his testimony, Nixon divulged his knowledge of a “sophisticated intelligent being” to Merritt toward the end of his presidency According to Merritt, Nixon claimed the being was alive and in government protection. He says Nixon entrusted this information to him as he considered Merritt one of his only confidantes, asking him to personally deliver a letter on the subject to Henry Kissinger – a copy of which allegedly remains hidden today somewhere in the White House.
A Dark Journalist’s Disclosure
Merritt’s testimony is corroborated by Douglas Caddy, a man who acted as a defense attorney for the parties convicted in the Watergate scandal and who claims he knows where Nixon’s ET disclosure letter is hidden in the White House. The two published a book titled, Watergate Exposed: How the President of the United States and the Watergate Burglars Were Set Up as told to Douglas Caddy.
Interviews with both men, including Merritt’s accounts of meeting Nixon, and his subsequent mission as letter courier to Kissinger, can be found on the website of Daniel Liszt, an investigative reporter on government and alien conspiracies, who goes by the alias “Dark Journalist.”
Merritt was an indispensable tool for Nixon’s Huston Plan – the aforementioned intelligence program to infiltrate and disrupt parties he felt threatened by, particularly political opponents and anti-war groups.
While serving as an informant under the Huston plan, Merritt says he was warned by one of his sources, a switchboard operator next to the Watergate Hotel named Rhita Reid, of the impending investigation into the administration. Merritt said he tried to warn Nixon, but that he wasn’t concerned at the time and didn’t foresee its major implications.
Despite this dismissal, Merritt claims he was one of Nixon’s most trusted sources and was even given nicknames including “003” – an obvious James Bond reference. So, when the Watergate scandal played out and the days of the Administration waned,
Merritt claims he was brought into a secret underground room beneath the White House where Nixon revealed the existence of an alien entity and technology housed at the infamous Nevada military base, Area 51.
“We have possessed knowledge and we have in our protection subjects from a planet X,” Nixon supposedly told Merritt. “Knowledge we obtained so vast and powerful, whoever possesses this knowledge would be the most powerful person in the world,” Merritt recounted.’

Merritt claims Nixon then wrote out a lengthy letter that included encrypted formulae to be delivered to Kissinger. He also included two cassette tapes, before sealing the letter and writing something on its outer flap, omitting his normal signature. Nixon then strapped the letter to Merritt’s stomach and sent him to deliver it to its intended recipient for unknown reasons. Allegedly we are close in time to reveal the letter to the public by the President in power.
Now, he claims that letter remains hidden somewhere in the White House, its location known to he and Caddy who say they will only reveal its location if the National Archives allows one of them to be present to read the letter publicly.

Malibu — on September 5, 2021, I had just left the beach to go on Decker Canyon and took a picture of the sky. Later, I noticed the white spot that appears to be multiple crafts. The two large crafts appear to have the same front nose and they both have matching holes on the side. One large hole or window closest to the front of the craft and two smaller holes or windows to the rear. To the bottom right of the two main crafts are two others.

Greenacres– on August 31, 2021, we noticed this bright light with a storm off in the far distance. I zoomed as my camera flipped to night mode. About 20 minutes later my wife looked again and it was gone.
Note: I believe that the witnesses saw the Planet Venus which was very bright in the southern sky. The apparent disappearance could have been due to clouds. The time was reported as 7 PM. Middletown – on September 5, 2021, I was on my porch watching the hummingbird and decided to take a video that day because he was extra vocal. Upon reviewing the video, I noticed a large Saturn like shaped object that was large, round, dark, except the bottom portion I could see was mostly a glowing green color. I’m sure this is either from another planet, or some black project craft that has not be released to the public.

Atlantic City– on August 27, 2021, several glowing round red objects were ascending from the ocean upwardly to the sky at night, in a somewhat path-like pattern. As they got higher and higher, one by one, they started to disappear in the night sky until all of them were gone.

Henderson – on August 12, 2021, I was walking back from the gym, and it began to get windy, and lightning started. I took a video of the lightning and a rectangular object heading south. It was flying very fast and appeared as if it was riding waves in the sky. I watched it through the camera lens but when I picked my head up to see it with my naked eye it wasn’t there.

Kettering– on September 5, 2021, saw three orbs that went into a triangle formation. Two orbs disappear for a few seconds and then two appear back and then it rotated as a whole and the point turned to the north and then disappeared.

Portland– on September 9, 2021, I was alone in the living room on the 5th floor of a high-rise when suddenly, the light pops up and then another SW of it but further away. It did not move but did change shape. It went into two then back to one. Also, it went like a thin line once.

Seattle – on September 4, 2021, standing outside in back driveway 6 pm., talking on cell to friend. I noticed a large completely black metallic, cylinder, rectangle shaped object with slightly pointed ends gliding fast in the sky. It was at a steady upright position silently gilding towards Seattle air flight area. Within my sight for 3 minutes, until it was a black dot.

Montello – on June 13, 2021, my name is Kerry Mann Jr. I live in Montello WI. I took the video and photography. While trying to get a time-lapse of the Milky Way I spotted a UFO. I was able to take 4 pretty darn good photos of the UFO! I put these photos as well as me zooming into them and exploring them more into a video. UFORCOP and Phantoms and Musters Fourteen Research Investigator Butch Witkowski forwarded the f information to me.

Ballarat— on September 4, 2021, I went out my front door, and looked at the sky because I have seen numerous unidentified things and some definite craft in the past. I noticed a star like object, directly to the south, moving in the sky and began recording. This first UFO was travelling from the west to the east and quickly disappeared from view. Another brighter and larger UFO was more to the west I noticed one flash, further in the distance. This UFO seemed to be travelling NNE and getting lower as it went along. This UFO was larger than any stars for two minutes before it disappeared behind a tree. This second UFO seemed to get larger or glow more intensely a couple of times.

This discovery I made is from Sol 3040. If you really think about it, whats left thousands of years after our species has disappeared? Whats left? What will others find. Well, if you look around outside, you will notice a lot of faces in photos, billboards, signs, advertisements and more everywhere. But in this society on Mars...they used the local materials, clearly they were not as advanced as humans are right now, but nevertheless...they were intelligent, they did appear to be semi human. So why were those artifacts there? My guess is it was a tribute much like a tomb stone in a cemetery to show who died and tell others who they were, when they lived, and to be...remembered. Now, thats my hypothesis, every scientist has one. I found a similar celtic ancient face in a museum and put it side by side with the mars face. They look the same, same species, same mouth, eyes, nose and forehead, cheeks. They may have been relatives in the distant past. The people of Mars and the people of Earth...some how related.
This is an image from the Apollo 15 moon mission archives. Its from NASA and was taken on the moon in 1971. In the upper right hand corner of the image is a bright object as shiny as the surface of the moon, except its hovering in space all alone. The object has a shape is unlike anything I have ever seen before. The objects head is closest to the moon and is smaller and thiner, and even has two long antennas sticking up from it. You see, UFO evidence went way back to 1971 and yet, people are not aware of it, because they never went searching through the NASA mission archives. A little time and effort really can bring out the truth...that aliens were watching humans as we walked on the moon.
A new creepy-looking alien abduction horror game called "They Are Here: Alien Abduction Horror" is due to be released in early 2022 and there's a free-to-play demo available now.
The game follows a journalist who investigates an alien sighting at the Grayswood farm and must explore the area in the dark, using a flashlight and take pictures to gather evidence of alien presence and get to the bottom of the horrifying events.
After numerous reports of mysterious sightings by the farm's owners — strange moving lights in the sky, spooked animals and more over five days — the player must find out whether this is deliberate deception for attention or genuine sensational sightings of alien life.
After reports of mysterious lights in the night sky and the children on the farm complaining that someone is walking by their windows, protagonist Taylor Fox must compile a photo report for the local paper.
"'They Are Here'" is a first-person horror story about a journalist who witnessed an alien abduction at the Grayswood farm," states the game's official description. "Explore the area armed with a flashlight. Take photos of evidence of aliens presence and get to the bottom of the horrifying truth."
The game sounds a bit like the movies "Signs" and "Paranormal Activity" mixed with a procedural investigation activities. But one thing is certain, the creepiness factor is high.
Although there is no official release date for the game yet, its Steam listing says the planned date is "early 2022" and you can add the game to your wishlist or play the demo for free.

The former director of a secretive U.S. government UFO program is ready to tell his full story.
Luis Elizondo, who headed the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’s effort to study UFOs around the world, has signed a book deal with William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, after a competitive bidding war for the U.S. publishing rights.
The memoir “promises to reveal shocking never-before-shared details regarding what Elizondo has learned about UFOs and the profound implications for humanity, all of which will escalate what is already a hot topic globally.”
In May, Elizondo was featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes segment on the UFO phenomena, which has racked up 10 million views on YouTube, making it the show’s fourth-most-watched segment on the streaming service.
Former President Barack Obama added onThe Late Late Showin May, “What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there are, there’s footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, you know, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”
In June, the Pentagon released a long-awaited report on UFOs (which have been re-dubbed Unidentified Aerial Phenomena — UAPs) that contained limited information about the task force’s findings. The report focused on 143 sightings by military aviators made since 2004 of objects that seemed to defy traditional classification and some of which seemed to break the laws of physics as well. The report offered five possible conclusions about what objects could be that ranged from the ultra mundane (birds, plastic bags), to the rather worrisome (top secret technology from U.S. adversaries like Russia and China), to the rather eyebrow-raising (“Other”). Most significantly to UFO buffs, the report did not rule out aliens and concluded more study was needed.
Said Elizondo in a statement: “The American people now know a small portion of what I and my colleagues in the Pentagon have been privy to: That these UAP (unidentified aerial phenomenon) are not secret U.S. technology, that they do not seem to belong to any known allies or adversaries and that our intelligence services have yet to identify a terrestrial explanation for these extraordinary vehicles. This conversation is only just beginning.”
Elizondo was a former U.S. Army counterintelligence special agent and helped hunt drug traffickers, terrorists and spies. In 2008, he was asked to be part of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, a $22 million program sponsored by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to study UFOs. In 2010, he was made director of the program. In 2017, he resigned from his position in protest of excessive government secrecy regarding UFOs. Elizondo was also involved in To the Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences from 2017 to 2020, and appeared on History Channel’s Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation. In 2019, a Pentagon spokesperson attempted to cast doubt on Elizondo’s leadership role within the AATIP, but Reid issued a counter-statement that firmly vouched for Elizondo’s position.

The former chief of a secretive Pentagon UFO program has signed a deal for a tell-all on the mysterious and controversial work, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Luis Elizondo, who headed the Department of Defense’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’s effort to study UFOs around the world, signed a book deal with William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, after a competitive bidding war, according to THR.
The memoir "promises to reveal shocking never-before-shared details regarding what Elizondo has learned about UFOs and the profound implications for humanity, all of which will escalate what is already a hot-topic globally," the publisher promises, the news outlet reported.
Elizondo appeared on CBS’ "60 Minutes" in May during a segment on the UFO phenomena that racked up 10 million views on YouTube, making it the show’s fourth most-watched segment on the streaming service, the news outlet reported.

The Pentagon in June released a report on UFOs — now dubbed as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAP – that contained limited information about the task force’s findings.
The report said defense and intelligence analysts lack sufficient data to determine the nature of mysterious flying objects observed by military pilots including whether they are advanced earthly technologies, atmospherics or of an extraterrestrial nature.
Submitted to Congress and released to the public, the report encompasses 144 observations of UAP dating back to 2004. It was issued by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in conjunction with a U.S. Navy-led UAP task force.
"UAP clearly pose a safety of flight issue and may pose a challenge to U.S. national security," the report stated, adding that the phenomena "probably lack a single explanation."
In a statement to THR, Elizondo said Americans "now know a small portion of what I and my colleagues in the Pentagon have been privy to: That these UAP (unidentified aerial phenomenon) are not secret U.S. technology, that they do not seem to belong to any known allies or adversaries and that our intelligence services have yet to identify a terrestrial explanation for these extraordinary vehicles. This conversation is only just beginning."
Elizondo’s background is wide-ranging, THR noted. He was a former Army Counterintelligence Special Agent and helped hunt drug traffickers, terrorists, and spies.
In 2008, he was asked to be part of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, a $22 million program sponsored by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to study UFOs. In 2010, he was made director of the program, and resigned in 2017.
He was also involved in To the Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences from 2017 to 2020, and was on History Channel’s "Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation."

They found that 7.5 per cent of all the fossils that they studied had cavities, with some layers containing a greater frequency than others.
This suggests that the diet of Microsyops latidens varied over time between foods with higher and lower sugar contents.

COMPARING DECAY
As part of their study, the experts compared the prevalence of cavities in the fossils of Microsyops latidens with those of modern primates.
Microsyops latidens suffered more cavities than most primates today.
There are exceptions, however — specifically among the genus Cebus (which contains the capuchins) and Saguinus (e.g. tamarins).
The study was conducted by anthropologists Keegan Selig and Mary Silcox of the University of Toronto Scarborough.
'Dental cavities or caries is a common disease among modern humans, affecting almost every adult,' the duo wrote in their paper.
'Caries frequency has been used to study dietary change in humans over time, based on an inferred tie between the incidence of caries and a carbohydrate-rich diet.
'However, the disease is not unique to our species. Among non-human primates, there is also variation in caries frequency associated with diet.
'This metric may provide a mechanism for studying diet in broader contexts, and across geological time.'
In their study, the researchers analysed a total of 1,030 individual fossil teeth and jaw sections that were unearthed in the Southern Bighorn Basin of Wyoming, in the US.
The team found that 77 of the specimens included dental cavities, which they say were likely caused by a diet that was high in fruit or other sugar-rich foods.
However, by dating the fossils based on the age of the sediments in which they were deposited, the pair determined that the frequency of cavities varied over time, with the fewest found in the oldest and youngest of the specimens.
This suggests that the diet of Microsyops latidens changed over time between foods with varying levels of sugar content, perhaps in response to changes in vegetation growth and food availability brought about by the climate fluctuations of the time.

'This, they explained, could have been 'a result of increased competition for limited food sources, or a change in the food sources that were available. This, in turn, may have led to the noted increase in caries frequency.
'As more palaeoclimatic data become available, it is possible that we will see evidence of further climatic change during this period, which may have affected the food sources available to M. latidens,' they concluded.
The full findings of the study were published in the journal Scientific Reports.

TOOTH DECAY EXPLAINED
Tooth decay is damage to a tooth caused by dental plaque turning sugars into acid.
If plaque is allowed to build up, it can lead to problems, such as holes in the teeth (dental caries) and gum disease.
Dental abscesses, which are collections of pus at the end of the teeth or in the gums, may develop.
Symptoms of tooth decay
Tooth decay may not cause any pain.
But if you have dental caries, you might have:
- toothache — either continuous pain keeping you awake, or occasional sharp pain without an obvious cause; it can sometimes be painless
- tooth sensitivity — you may feel tenderness or pain when eating or drinking something hot, cold or sweet
- grey, brown or black spots appearing on your teeth
- bad breath
* an unpleasant taste in your mouth
Seeing a dentist
Visit your dentist regularly so early tooth decay can be treated as soon as possible and the prevention of further decay can begin.
Tooth decay is much easier and cheaper to treat in its early stages.
Dentists can usually identify tooth decay and further problems with a simple examination or X-ray.

It's also important to have regular dental check-ups.
Adults should have a check-up at least once every 2 years, and children under the age of 18 should have a check-up at least once a year.

Early-stage tooth decay
Early-stage tooth decay, which is before a hole (or cavity) has formed in the tooth, can be reversed by:
- reducing how much and how frequently you have sugary foods and drinks
- brushing your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
Your dentist may apply a fluoride gel or fluoride paste to the affected tooth.
Fluoride helps to protect teeth by strengthening the enamel, making teeth more resistant to the acids from plaque that can cause tooth decay.
Treatments for holes in teeth
When there's a hole in the tooth, treatment may include:
- a filling or crown – this involves removing the dental decay and filling the hole or covering the tooth (read about what NHS fillings and crowns are made of)
- root canal treatment – this may be needed to remove tooth decay that's spread to the centre of the tooth where the blood and nerves are (the pulp)
- removing all or part of the tooth – this is usually advised when the tooth is badly damaged and cannot be restored; your dentist may be able to replace the tooth with a partial denture, bridge or implant
Preventing tooth decay in adults
Although tooth decay is a common problem, it's often entirely preventable.
The best way to avoid tooth decay and keep your gums as healthy as possible is to:
- visit your dentist regularly – your dentist will decide how often they need to see you based on the condition of your mouth, teeth and gums
- cut down on sugary and starchy food and drinks, particularly between meals or within an hour of going to bed – some medicines can also contain sugar, so it's best to look for sugar-free alternatives where possible
- look after your teeth and gums – brush your teeth properly with a fluoride toothpaste twice a day, and use floss and an interdental brush at least once a day
- see your dentist or a GP if you have a persistently dry mouth – this may be caused by certain medicines, treatments or medical conditions
Protecting your child's teeth
Establishing good eating habits by limiting sugary snacks and drinks can help your child avoid tooth decay.
Regular visits to the dentist at an early age should also be encouraged.
It's important to teach your child how to clean their teeth properly and regularly. Your dentist can show you how to do this.
Younger children should use a children's toothpaste, but make sure to read the label about how to use it.
Children should still brush their teeth twice a day, especially before bedtime.
What causes tooth decay
Your mouth is full of bacteria that form a film over the teeth called dental plaque.
When you consume food and drink high in carbohydrates, particularly sugary foods and drinks, the bacteria in plaque turn the carbohydrates into energy they need, producing acid at the same time.
The acid can break down the surface of your tooth, causing holes known as cavities.
Once cavities have formed in the enamel, the plaque and bacteria can reach the dentine, the softer bone-like material underneath the enamel.
As the dentine is softer than the enamel, the process of tooth decay speeds up.
Without treatment, bacteria will enter the pulp, the soft centre of the tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels.
At this stage, your nerves will be exposed to bacteria, usually making your tooth painful.
The bacteria can cause a dental abscess in the pulp and the infection could spread into the bone, causing another type of abscess.
The oldest dental cavities on a mammal date back 54 million years. As a matter of fact, experts have stated that cavities were actually quite common in early primates, specifically Microsyops latidens which were alive during the Early Eocene Period. Dental cavities have been found in more than 7% of the fossils belonging to that species.
While there isn’t much information regarding the Microsyops latidens species since they have no living descendants, experts believe that they lived in trees and ate fruits as well as insects.
There were a total of 1,030 dental fossils (jaws and teeth) that were found in Wyoming’s Southern Bighorn Basin that span a time frame of approximately 544,000 years during the Early Eocene Period. Of those samples, 77 of them (or 7.48%) contained cavities. The researchers stated that this is the “largest sample to date of fossil caries in a single extinct mammal species,” and the “earliest known sample of dental caries in an extinct mammal.” Another extinct primate that lived about 12.5 million years ago previously held the record for the oldest dental cavity until now.
As for what caused the cavities, scientists think that they were probably due to the consumption of sweet fruits and other sugary foods. Cavities form when mouth bacteria eats away sugar that is on the teeth and delivers a very acidic by-product that then eats the dental tissue; therefore creating a hole (cavity).
Additionally, the changes in the cavities throughout that time period suggested that the primates varied their food habits with some containing more sugar than others (the oldest and youngest fossils had the fewest number of cavities). This may have been caused by the climate fluctuating during the Early Eocene Period that could have affected vegetation and food.
Keegan Selig from the University of Toronto Scarborough explained this further, “We cannot be 100% certain that it was fruit that caused these cavities in M. Latidens. Other factors such as the pH and biochemistry of the mouth might also produce cavities,” adding, “But fruit, and specifically sugar, are major culprits in producing cavities, just like in our own mouths today.”
Some of the cavities found in the Microsyops latidens teeth were quite minor while others were severe. Experts are unsure whether or not the cavities had an effect on the primates’ health, but as Selig explained, “…having cavities, especially large ones, can lead to many health problems” like having an infection, soreness while chewing, and even losing the tooth. It’s no secret that current Americans and residents of North American going all the way back to the first European on this land give the indigenous people of the land little credit for much of anything. A recent discovery in Louisiana changed that for some archeologists and possibly for some engineers – the massive earthen structures at a place ironically called Poverty Point were constructed in mere weeks yet have managed to solidly survive for 3,400 years. Some people living in buildings in the path of recent hurricanes may want to pay attention.
“We as a research community — and population as a whole — have undervalued native people and their ability to do this work and to do it quickly in the ways they did. One of the most remarkable things is that these earthworks have held together for more than 3,000 years with no failure or major erosion. By comparison, modern bridges, highways and dams fail with amazing regularity because building things out of dirt is more complicated than you would think. They really were incredible engineers with very sophisticated technical knowledge.”
Tristram R. “T.R.” Kidder, anthropology professor and lead author of the study published in the journal Southeastern Archeology, explains in a Washington University in St. Louis press release how his team of anthropologists used radiocarbon dating, microscopic analysis of soils and magnetic measurements of soils to study the Poverty Point World Heritage site in northern Louisiana. The massive mound is 72 feet high with concentric circles in front of it. It was made, starting in 1700 BCE, with nearly 2 million cubic yards of soil hauled, mixed and assembled by a hunter-fisher-gatherer culture without sophisticated tools, domesticated animals, wheeled carts or any other aids. Kidder believes the construction was completed in lifts, or layers of sediment deposited to increase the ridge height and linear dimensions before another layer was placed to expand the mound vertically and horizontally. Amazingly, there is no evidence of weathering between the layers, indicating they were built rapidly and the entire 2 million cubic yards hit 72 feet in a matter of weeks.
“Similar to the Roman concrete or rammed earth in China, Native Americans discovered sophisticated ways of mixing different types of materials to make them virtually indestructible, despite not being compacted. There’s some magic there that our modern engineers have not been able to figure out yet.”
Will they ever figure it out? Kidder thinks these Native American engineers descended from the original people who crossed the Bering Strait land bridge 15,000 years ago. The variety and magnitude of artifacts found there indicates it may have been a major trading center when the mound was built, providing the engineers with a large labor pool to haul, mix and pile the soil. Holes indicate that houses were built on the mound, but it appears news of the sheer magnitude of it spread and the mound became an important religious site where Native Americans came in pilgrimage.

While the mounds have stood for 3,400 years through hurricanes, heavy rains, flooding and erosion, the Native American builders didn’t. It appears they moved out around 1100 BCE due to hurricanes, heavy rains, flooding and erosion – i.e., climate change.
The mound at Poverty Point is not the most famous – the Serpent Mound in Ohio is – but perhaps it should be. Will modern engineers learn anything from these underappreciated yet obviously talented Native American builders? Possibly. Will the mound help today’s Americans better appreciate the talented people who lived here long before the Europeans? Has anything else managed to do that? Will climate change force modern people to abandon the structures they build? Definitely. How long will those structures last? You know the answer.
We must never stop learning about – and learning from – the past.

Virgin Galactic heeft zijn eerste commerciële onderzoeksmissie met de Italiaanse luchtmacht uit voorzorg uitgesteld tot medio oktober. Het uitstel is veroorzaakt door een potentiële fabricagefout bij een leverancier.
Virgin Galactic schrijft dat het bedrijf zijn ‘Unity 23'-missie met de Italiaanse luchtmacht uitstelt nadat het door een leverancier is gewaarschuwd voor een mogelijk defect. De eventuele productiefout zou in het flight control-systeem zitten.
“Op dit moment is nog niet bekend of het defect aanwezig is in de ruimtetuigen van het bedrijf en welke reparatiewerkzaamheden eventueel nodig zijn”, meldt Virgin Galactic. Het bedrijf zegt dat het momenteel inspecties uitvoert, samen met de leverancier in kwestie. Het voegt eraan toe dat het de missie heeft uitgesteld vanwege ‘een overvloed aan voorzichtigheid’.
De Unity 23-missie stond aanvankelijk in de planning voor eind september of begin oktober, maar vindt nu ‘medio oktober’ plaats, zo klinkt het. Het bedrijf deelt later een meer concrete lanceringsdatum. Tijdens de missie zouden bemanningsleden van de Italiaanse luchtmacht en de Italiaanse nationale onderzoeksraad naar de ruimte gaan.
Onderzoek
Het uitstel is volgens het bedrijf niet gerelateerd aan een lopend onderzoek van de Amerikaanse Federal Aviation Administration. Die overheidsinstantie onderzoekt momenteel de eerste bemande testvlucht van Virgin Galactic. Tijdens die vlucht vloog het ruimteschip van Virgin Galactic een minuut lang buiten zijn aangewezen luchtruim. Het bedrijf mag nu geen vluchten uitvoeren met zijn SpaceShipTwo-ruimtevaartuig totdat de FAA een uitspraak heeft gedaan, meldt persbureau Reuters.
Concurrentiestrijd
Virgin Galactic wil toeristische vluchten richting de ruimte verkopen, en met zijn eigen vlucht in juli wilde oprichter Richard Branson daar reclame voor maken. Hij is in een hevige concurrentiestrijd verwikkeld met twee andere multimiljardairs. Ook Amazon-oprichter Jeff Bezos, die een week na Branson naar de ruimte ging, en Elon Musk (Tesla, PayPal, SpaceX) hebben zich op het ruimtetoerisme gestort. SpaceX stuurt volgende week overigens een speciale vlucht naar de ruimte. Voor het eerst bestaat de bemanning van een toestel dat in een baan rond de aarde komt alleen uit burgers. Er gaan geen professionele astronauten mee.
