There is no doubt whatsoever that the provisions of the Freedom of Information Acts of a number of nations have led to the declassification of interesting and intriguing documentation on UFOs. The FBI, for example, has an entire section at its website (The Vault) where you can find its once-classified papers on UFOs – and on other mystery-filled topics too, such as ESP and cattle-mutilations (see this link for the list). Sometimes, however, asking the wrong question, when filing a Freedom of Information request, can result in a “no records found” reply. Such a response usually occurs when a person provides the relevant agency with inaccurate, or way too brief, data when filing that request. But, the “no records found” angle also applies to government inquiries too, as we shall now see.

Back in the early-to-mid 1990s, the Government Accountability Office (at the time, called the General Accounting Office) dug deep into the matter of what happened back in Lincoln County, New Mexico in the summer of 1947. I am, of course, talking about the controversial “Roswell Incident.” The GAO was prompted by the request of the late Congressman Steven Schiff(for New Mexico). Working on Schiff’s request, the GAO prepared and released a report that, in part, stated the following:

“Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided information on the 1947 weather balloon crash at Roswell Air Field, New Mexico, focusing on: (1) the requirements for reporting air accidents similar to the Roswell crash; and (2) any government records concerning the Roswell crash. GAO found that: (1) in 1947, Army regulations required that air accident reports be maintained permanently and although none of the military services filed a report on the Roswell incident, there was no requirement in 1947 to prepare a report on the weather balloon crash; (2) although some of the records concerning Roswell activities had been destroyed, there was no information available regarding when or under what authority the records were destroyed; (3) only two government records originating in 1947 have been recovered regarding the Roswell incident; (4) a 1947 Federal Bureau of Investigations record revealed that the military had reported that an object resembling a high-altitude weather balloon with a radar reflector had been recovered near Roswell; and (5) a 1947 Air Force report noted the recovery of a flying disc that was later determined by military officials to be a radar-tracking balloon.”

All of the above shows that the GAO certainly did dig deep into the July 1947 affair that has become so famous. It could be argued, however, that the GAO didn’t find anything substantial because the wrong approach was taken. And, as a result it was a case of “no records found” (or hardly any). I’ll explain what I mean by this. Consider what the GAO said about the CIA’s search for any and all files on matters relative to the “Roswell Incident.” The GAO stated the following:

“In March 1995, the CIA’s Executive Director responded to our letter of inquiry by stating that earlier searches by the CIA for records on unidentified flying objects produced no information pertaining to the Roswell crash. The Executive Director added, however, that it was unclear whether the CIA had ever conducted a search for records specifically relating to Roswell. In the absence of such assurance, the Executive Director instructed CIA personnel to conduct a comprehensive records search for information relating to Roswell. On May 30, 1995, the CIA’s Executive Director informed us that a search against the term ‘Roswell, New Mexico,’ in all CIA databases produced no CIA documents related to the crash.”

Note that the CIA, when going through its databases, searched on the words “Roswell, New Mexico.” Taking into consideration the fact that the 1947  incident itself actually occurred a couple of hours’ drive from the city of Roswell, then the chances are slim that the CIA would have found anything that tied “Roswell, New Mexico” with the ’47 event itself. The fact is that the onlyconnection between the incident and Roswell – the city – is that it was the military personnel from the old Roswell Army Air Field who were dispatched to secure the site and recover the materials found at the site. Other than that, the incident itself actually has no connection to Roswell, whatsoever. For the record, I don’t at all think the CIA lied when it said that it could not find anything on Roswell. What I do think, though, is that a search of something far beyond just “Roswell, New Mexico” might well have uncovered something of significance. Perhaps terms like “Aircraft incident, July 1947,” “Unknown object, Lincoln County,” and so on, might have worked – at least, to a degree.

For the record, the CIA also searched on the term “Project Mogul” – Mogul being the secret balloon-based program that the U.S. Air Force concluded was responsible for what came down on the Foster Ranch. But, if what came down was not a huge Mogul array, then, of course, nothing relative to the crash would be found in CIA databases anyway.

Much the same can be said about my 2010 book, Final Events. One specific part of the book is relevant to this article. As I note in the book itself, one of the interviewees told me that the term “Collins Elite” was specifically the group’s “informal” name. It was an informal name that they used, I was told, when speaking with others who may not have had full clearance on what the CE was doing, which included personnel from the NSA and CIA. And people like me, too, one could suggest.

A good argument can be made that if – as was specifically made clear to me, and as I revealed in the book itself, eight years ago – the group has an “informal” title (the Collins Elite), then logic almost certainly dictates that it also has a “formal” name too – which is probably highly-classified, and which is probably why people have not had success, via FOIA,  in finding the group by using the term, “Collins Elite.” For the record, numerous worldwide agencies have both informal and formal names. For example, the NSA is known as “The Fort.” The U.K.’s Secret Intelligence Service is referred to as “Legoland.” Russia’s GRU is “The Aquarium.” “The Company” is the CIA’s nickname. And the list goes on.

As all of the above demonstrates, filing a FOIA request – or even getting an agency like the GAO to pursue the Roswell affair – may not work. Not because of a cover-up, but as a result of asking the wrong questions or using the wrong terms. Bureaucracy is sometimes the cause of what is so often perceived as conspiracy.

Australia’s most infamous ape-man was reportedly seen in Queensland this week, and the timing of the sighting coincided with another infamously anomalous event. Could the two be related?

On Monday, July 30, Katrina Ayers was driving north of Roma on the Carnarvon Highway, taking her time to avoid hitting kangaroos which happened to be in the road. While cruising at a slow, safe speed, Ayers spotted what she thought was a large rock by the side of the road. As she got closer, she reports, the “rock” stood up, revealing itself to be a large hairy humanoid creature standing over a kangaroo carcass. Ayers estimates the beast stood roughly 152 centimeters (5 feet) tall and described its hair as auburn-colored. Ayers shared the sighting with the Australian Yowie Research group, which posted Ayers’ description of the incident to their Facebook page.

Has Yowie developed a taste for kangaroo meat?

While a single eyewitness’ testimony usually isn’t noteworthy, the timing of the Yowie sighting may add a bit of weirdness to this incident. On the same day as this reported Yowie encounter, numerous eyewitnesses reported a strange object streaking luminously across the Queensland sky leaving a trail of green fire behind it. Some witnesses reported the fireball as a “big bright white and yellow ball with an amazing tail of blue green orange and white assumingly burning gases,” descriptions which would seem to imply a meteor or asteroid burning up in the atmosphere.

Green fireballs are a common subject of UFO reports.

Others, however, described the unidentified aerial phenomenon as a “dark rectangular object” leaving a “jet flame” in its wake. One onlooker even described the object as “like nothing he had seen before” and moving in ways which implied “advanced technology due to its maneuverability.” UCLA astronomer Ian MacLean, meanwhile, assured the Queensland public “with 99.99 per cent certainty” that it was merely an Aquarian or Capricornian meteor shower. However, reports of green fireballs are a common theme in UFO research, and the US military even took an interest in them at the height of the flying saucer era, finally concluding that the phenomena are likely man-made. Could this ‘meteor’ have been something else?

The US Air Force established a research project, code name Project Twinkle, to investigate green fireballs in the 1950s.

The timing of the two incidents is strange. Has Yowie upgraded its methods of transportation? Could the aboriginal ape-man actually be a kangaroo-hungry extraterrestrial stopping by for a mid-summer snack and freaking people out with his odd green spacecraft? Or could one woman’s misidentification of a kangaroo in mourning merely have coincided with a not-too-rare astronomical event?

A six-foot "faceless" humanoid creature has been spotted lurking behind a moose

Listen, it’s easy to laugh at moose. They’re goofy. Big spindly legs and ridiculous antlers looking like busted up satellite dishes stuck to their giant adorable faces, moose are supremely silly looking animals, it’s true. Rocky and Bullwinkle didn’t help either. But despite the laughter you can get simply by looking at a moose face, they’re one of the most dangerous animals in North America. Moose are responsible for more attacks on humans than bears and wolves combined, and when presented with an opportunity, moose will happily stomp any predator dumb enough to try for some moose meat. If I had to make a list of the animals I’d be OK with meeting in a dark alley, there’s a solid chance the a moose would be at the very bottom of that list. That is, unless this new footage out of Quebec turns out to be real.

Just ridiculous.

A video posted on YouTube recently seems to show a very strange, thin, white figure apparently stalking a large moose. Filmed by Audree Frechette, in Quebec’s Gaspé Valley who thought she was just getting some nice shots of a lone moose hanging out by the side of the road, it wasn’t until she reviewed the video that she noticed the strange something that seems to be lurking by the treeline. The strange figure sort of looks like a tall hunched-over humanoid—obvious comparisons can be drawn to Gollum from The Lord of the Rings and myriad other popular monsters—but it moves nothing like a human, appearing to almost dance back and forth too smoothly for comfort. Are there any old legends from this part of the world that fit this description? You bet there is. A classic and absolutely terrifying monster from Algonquin lore: the Wendigo. Take a look at that video and then read this description of a Wendigo from Objibwe teacher and scholar Basil Johnson:

The Wendigo was gaunt to the point of emaciation, its desiccated skin pulled tightly over its bones. With its bones pushing out against its skin, its complexion the ash gray of death, and its eyes pushed back deep into their sockets, the Wendigo looked like a gaunt skeleton recently disinterred from the grave. What lips it had were tattered and bloody [….] Unclean and suffering from suppurations of the flesh, the Wendigo gave off a strange and eerie odor of decay and decomposition, of death and corruption.

Yeah, I’ll take death by moose over that thing any day of the week.

I could probably take him.

Perhaps the strangest thing about this video is that, while this whatever-it-is dances like a creep at the treeline, the moose seemingly doesn’t notice or doesn’t care. Both options would be pretty bizarre. The third option is much less bizarre: there’s no strange figure there at all, just a reflection on the windshield that the video was shot through and our old friend pareidolia and the shapes thousands of fictional monsters all stuck in our brains playing tricks on us. Here’s the thing: the “strange figure” moves at exactly the same speed and with the same smoothness as the camera. If you watched that video and you feel like there’s just something a little bit off about it, I think that’s what it is. Although it may indeed have a humanoid shape, it moves like a reflection.

Maybe I just don’t want there to be a supernatural moose stalking monster, much less a real Wendigo. I admit that I’m looking forward to actually enjoying camping trips in the north country and not being wracked with crippling paranoia and fear because of my chosen path in life (although that’s just about unavoidable at this point).

Case closed, no Wendigo, I’m going to forget I ever wrote this.

Last week, To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science (TTSA), Tom DeLonge’s public benefit corporation dedicated to seeking answers to the UFO mystery, announced that it was launching its “flagship” research project.

The Acquisition and Data Analysis of Materials, known as A.D.A.M., focuses on,

“the collection and scientific evaluation of material samples obtained through reliable reports of advanced aerospace vehicles of unknown origin.”

This material often referred to as ‘meta-materials,’ is usually a bizarre collection and amalgamation of alloys. Not found in nature, meta-materials are constructed from multiple elements to form composite metals. The various elements are arranged in patterns, often on the microscopic level, to manipulate electromagnetic waves. They can bend these waves, absorb them, enhance them and block them for a variety of purposes. Technologically, this is an important frontier that has been talked about a lot in physics.

Building an aircraft, for example, out of a specific meta-material which absorbs EM radiation would fundamentally make it invisible on radar, and even, with the right combination of elements, the naked eye. Perhaps you wanted to transmit a signal, like a radio wave. If the antenna used to transmit the signal is made out of this fancy new meta-material, you could fashion it using certain patterns of elements that would significantly enhance the signal and cast it across a great distance.

The A.D.A.M. project is suggesting that anomalous aerial phenomena, UFOs basically, seem to be leaving similar materials behind. Basically, little bits of unknown aerial vehicles are showing up. While stories and accounts of UFO debris fill the narrative, like a crashed flying saucer outside of Roswell, meta-materials seem to be the next big thing in UFO research. While there exists significant disagreement on the whole UFO meta-material thing, the project is being headed up by Dr. Hal Puthoff and EarthTech International.

Hal Puthoff

Dr. Puthoff has a long history in dealing with esoteric stuff, such as parapsychology and UFOs. That being said, he is an established scientist, educated at Stanford University, who focuses on exotic physics. While he has many critics, to any card-carrying member of the UFO community, he is a big name.

I reached out to Dr. Puthoff to ask him about how this whole relationship between EarthTech and To the Stars began. While there is a clear personal connection since he does serve as the Vice President of Science and Technology for To the Stars, it goes a little deeper than that.

He explained,

“Due to the widespread publicity that TTSA has received, individuals claiming possession of materials that might be from advanced aerospace vehicles of unknown origin have come forth and have agreed to provide them to TTSA for analysis.”

He went on to explain that EarthTech’s analytical equipment and its engineers have the requirements which fit this type of research and analysis. He stated,

“TTSA reached out to my organization, EarthTech International, to carry out the analysis on a contract basis, and we have agreed to do so…it is a very straightforward contractual relationship, and the results will be provided to TTSA for their dissemination as they see fit.”

Regardless of the facts, the UFO community has already begun to cry foul. On one side, many critics have suggested that To the Stars is running out of steam and this is just an attempt to keep the engine going a little longer. Others have suggested that this is just one big government conspiracy to collect up UFO meta-materials and hide them away from the public.

On the less conspiratorial side, the UFO community has been pretty divided over To the Stars Academy in general. While some individuals view it as an important step in the study and research of UFOs, others have already deemed it a failure. I personally have written several articles about this organization’s potential cultural impact on UFO discourse.

Looking at the overall history of UFO studies, what some call ‘Ufology,’ no single project or program has ever succeeded in solving the enigma. UFO reports in earlier decades used to involve saucers landing on protruding metallic legs in fields with strange looking men in jumpsuits collecting plant samples, or tall floating robots that blasted bright beams of light at witnesses. Modern-day UFO reports rarely, if ever, contain such tales anymore, at least in the United States. Assuming UFOs are a real phenomenon, it begs a serious question; do we even know what to look for?

Perhaps meta-materials are the modern-day interpretation of the phenomenon? It is not that flying saucers didn’t use to land, and that short jump-suited men didn’t collect plant samples, nor is it that light beam shooting robots weren’t real either. It may just be how the phenomenon manifested to the witnesses during that time. The famous psychologist Carl Jung stated that flying saucers were “a living myth.” Are meta-materials merely our current cultural interpretation of the mythological UFO mystery?

Furthermore, once we have become masters of meta-material technology, will the myths change? Everyone in the 1890’s viewed the mysterious airships in the American Midwest with their massive propellers as amazing technology. The invention of the airplane put an end to those sightings. It will be interesting to see what the UFO narrative and discourse looks like in two decades when meta-materials become more mainstream in everyday gadgets. Will people still be collecting hunks of UFO material in undisclosed desert landscapes in New Mexico, or will it be something new?

Does this mean that To the Stars, A.D.A.M. and Puthoff are engaged in a wild goose chase? No. They, like the rest of the UFO community, are simply working with what they think they know. Similarly, Puthoff’s critics make assumptions based on the data they currently have. If the UFO phenomenon teaches us anything, it is that nothing is static and, more importantly, nothing ought to be taken for granted. In other words, data changes, especially over time. While I have no idea if Puthoff and the A.D.A.M. project will be successful at finding otherworldly meta-materials, I am sure that the phenomenon will do its best to remain as elusive as ever.

I asked Puthoff if TTSA had any strange meta-materials in their possession. He responded,

“Materials with interesting claimed histories have been provided, but technical evaluation of them is yet to be carried out, so it is too early to say.”

As with any breakthrough, time is a major player. This project will either die emptyhanded or, hopefully, shed light on the UFO enigma. Whatever the case, I wish them the best of luck.

I’ll conclude with something UFO researcher Chris Wolford tells me on a weekly basis in regard to the UFO phenomenon, “a tsunami is coming.” People have been saying that for decades so I’m not holding my breath just yet. That being said, I did buy a life jacket on Amazon. You know, just in case.

Epic rolling wall of dust moving toward Phoenix, Arizona

A massive dust cloud descended on Phoenix, Arizona, this week, completely engulfing the Valley region and beyond.

The monsoon storm hit the area Thursday evening, bringing high winds and a foreboding wall of dust.

The epic rolling dust storm made its way to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, where planes were forced to land in the crazy conditions.

The National Weather Service Phoenix sent out a number of dust storm warnings, saying there was “near zero visibility” in the blowing dust.

UFO Moves Over Apartments In Moscow, Russia Causing Residents To Panic, Video, UFO Sighting News.

Now here is a great video report just in. This UFO cloud moved over an apartment building in Moscow a few days ago. 

The reason I believe this to be a UFO is;
1. This cloud rotates in a disk pattern. 
2. There is an inner circle on the bottom of the UFO.
3. As the UFO moves over the building (watch in full screen mode) the cloud is billowing out or growing more clouds to hid in! Its a tremendous amount of clouds even for a volcano!

Therefore, I have to say this is 100% a UFO.

I love this video. The eyewitness caught an actual UFO disguised as a cloud and on video it disappeared right in front of his eyes. This UFO must be equipped with an AI telepathy radar that senses peoples emotions and thoughts, programmed to filter out certain things and react on others. Here the UFO reacted when it was caught. Notice the other clouds just sitting still, not disappearing, staying the same...because they are real unlike this one. Aliens do make mistakes. This video is 100% proof of that.

Water UFO Seen In New Hampshire Lake Baffles Eyewitness, July 2018, Video, UFO Sighting News.

This is a under water UFO is only about one meter in diameter and has the shape of a disk, which we can make out several times in the video. Water UFOs are very rare to catch, so this sighting is very exciting to me. The craft is small, but the UFO may be controlled by AI or remote controlled from light years away. The size of the object was easy to measure compared to the objects it swam past. In the close up of the disk I see a dome area, transparent so that either passengers or electronics can watch the aquatic life below the surface.

Scientists Find What Caused The Ancient Maya Civilization To Disappear

The Ancient Maya Civilization dominated Central and South America until 800 AD.

The Mayans disappeared what was the cause?

They built supermassive astronomically aligned temples and incredible pyramids that rival in complexity the Pyramids in Egypt. However, by 1000AD, the mysterious disappeared, leaving experts wondering what happened to them.

For centuries, scholars have proposed many theories trying to understand what happened to one of the greatest civilizations of the American continent.

What Happened to the Mayans?

Now, researchers say they’ve solved the mystery behind why the ancient Maya disappeared without a trace.

According to experts, the Maya civilization collapsed because of extreme, and severe droughts.

Based on these measurements, the researchers found that annual precipitation decreased between 41% and 54% relative to today during the period of the Maya civilization’s collapse, with periods of up to 70% rainfall reduction during peak drought conditions, and that relative humidity declined by 2% to 7% relative to today. The results are reported in the journal Science.

By the time the Spanish arrived in the 16th century, jungle vines were flourishing on abandoned massive ancient Pyramid cities built by the Maya.

In the past, scholars have suggested that the ancient Maya may have collapsed due to invasion by foreign powers, war, disease and a collapse in trade. However, scientists from the universities of Cambridge and Florida have found strong evidence that an extended period of drought caused devastating effects on this vast civilization.

To come to their conclusion, researchers studied water samples in Lake Chichancanab where the Maya were based. Experts measured isotopes of water in gypsum, a mineral that forms in lakes during times of drought.

As gypsum is formed, water molecules adhere to its crystalline structure, and this water records the different isotopes that were present in the ancient lake water at the time of its formation.

“The role of climate change in the collapse of Classic Maya civilization is somewhat controversial, partly because previous records are limited to qualitative reconstructions, for example, weather conditions were wetter or drier,” said Nick Evans, a Ph.D. student in Cambridge’s Department of Earth Sciences and the paper’s first author. “Our study represents a substantial advance as it provides statistically robust estimates of rainfall and humidity levels during the Maya downfall.”

Mysterious Deep Space Signal Intercepted by Astronomers May Have Been Sent By Aliens

One Explanation is Aliens. The other one, exploding black holes. The other one… exploding stars, exotic pulsars, magnetars… or maybe we just really don’t know.

A mysterious signal from deep space has been picked up by astronomers operating a brand-new $15 million telescope in Canada, marking one of only two dozen fast radio bursts ever detected.

The signal, commonly referred to as a Fast Radio Burst (FRB) lasted only a few milliseconds.

Astronomers say that this signal is unquestionably unique. The reason? The newly intercepted signal is the first radio emission intercepted from deep space, having a frequency below 700 MHz – the lowest frequency FRB ever recorded.

This led to the conclusion that whatever produced the signal –dubbed FRB 180725A—is very, very powerful.

Fast Radio Bursts aren’t really that common. In fact, the first such signal was spotted in 2007, and in eleven years, only two dozen similar events have been intercepted by experts.

Astronomers aren’t really sure what causes them. Some possible explanations include exploding black holes. However, some experts argue that advanced alien civilization could also be responsible for such signals.

Not long ago, we wrote about a study done by scientists at Harvard Universtiy who say that fast radio bursts, aka FRBs, might be leakage from planet-sized Alien transmitters powering interstellar probes in distant galaxies. “Fast radio bursts are exceedingly bright given their short duration and origin at great distances, and we haven’t identified a possible natural source with any confidence,” said theorist Avi Loeb of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. “An artificial origin is worth contemplating and checking.”

The brand-new FRB was intercepted by the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) telescope, in operation less than a year.

The Chime telescope is unique. It was built to be able to spot signals sent out when our universe was between 6 billion and 11 billion years old.

Speaking to Mail Online, Christopher Conselice, a professor of astrophysics at the University of Nottingham said that the newly intercepted FRB could help pave the way for a greater understanding of what causes FRBs.

“We don’t know their origin, they could be caused by a number of things,” he said.

“The fact the lower frequency FRB has been detected provides hope that we can understand more about where they come from and what causes them.”

“They could be caused by exploding stars, supernova, exotic stars like pulsars, magnetars, neutron stars or massive black holes at the center of distant galaxies. It could even be some other physical mechanism that we don’t yet understand.”

UFO alert: Letter to President Jefferson may be earliest recorded visit of ALIENS

Thomas Jefferson was an American Founding Father and the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. He served as the third president of the United States from 1801 to 1809, and he was a man who was informed about one of the first UFO sightings in the history of the United States.

More than 200 years ago, a mysterious UFO was witnessed by people in the United States.

It has now been revealed that a report about the UFO sighting was presented to former US President Thomas Jefferson.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise.

In fact, hundreds if not thousands of years ago, people all over the globe have been witnessing strange, inexplicable things in our skies.

While some of these events were explainable like weather or astronomic phenomena, some sitting s have remained shrouded in mystery.

Now, in the midst of increasing UFO sightings across the globe, and in days where UFO disclosure seems to be near, it has been revealed that 200 years ago, former US president Thomas Jefferson read a report about a UFO signing which occurred in the early days of the United States.

in The Papers of Thomas Jefferson: Retirement Series reveals that a tavern keeper in Portsmouth, Virginia, and his friend had informed the former president about an unidentified flying object they saw hovering in the skies.

The UFO which resembled a meteor at first had the ability to ‘shapeshift’ as the UFO attained the shape of a turtle as it hovered above the sky.

“We the subscribers most earnestly solicit, that your honor will give us your opinion on the following extraordinary phenomenon. We saw in the South a Ball of fire full as large as the sun at Meridian which was frequently obscured within the space of ten minutes by a smoke emitted from its own body, but ultimately retained its brilliance, and form during that period, but with apparent agitation,” wrote the eyewitnesses in a letter written to the president, Express.co.uk reports.

This report is considered one of the first UFO reports in the history of the United States.

However, it still remains a mystery whether the former president answered to the witness statement or not.

Interestingly, this was not the first mysterious object that was brought to the attention of Thomas Jefferson.

In 1804, a report mentioning an Unidentified Flying Object was written and submitted by naturalist William Dunbar, and communicated to the American Philosophical Society by Thomas Jefferson, who at the time was the president of the Society, as well as the Vice President of the United States of America.

A one-page notice appeared in the Transactions of the American Philosophical Society (Volume 6 Part1–Philadelphia, 1804– p-25)

Description of a singular Phenomenon seen at Baton Rouge, by Wikkiam Dibar, Esq. communicated by Thomas Jefferson, President A.P.S. Natchey, June 30, 1800. Read 16 January 1801.

A PHENOMENON was seen to pass Baton Rouge on the night of the 5th April 1800, of which the following is the best description I have been able to obtain.

It was first seen in the South West, and moved so rapidly, passing over the heads of the spectators, as to disappear in the North East in about a quarter of a minute.

It appeared to be of the size of a large house, 70 or 80 feet long and of a form nearly resembling Fig. 5. in Plate, iv.

It appeared to be about 200 yards above the surface of the earth, wholly luminous, but not emitting sparks; of a color resembling the sun near the horizon in a cold frosty evening, which may be called a crimson red. When passing right over the heads of the spectators, the light on the surface of the earth, was little short of the effect of sun-beams, though at the same time, looking another way, the stars were visible, which appears to be a confirmation of the opinion formed of its moderate elevation. In passing, a considerable degree of heat was felt but no electric sensation. Immediately after it disappeared in the North East, a violent rushing noise was heard, as if the phenomenon was bearing down the forest before it, and in a few seconds, a tremendous crash was heard similar to that of the largest piece of ordnance, causing a very sensible earthquake.

I have been informed, that search has been made in the place where the burning body fell, and that a considerable portion of the surface of the earth was found broken up, and every vegetable body burned or scorched. I have not yet received answers to a number of queries I have sent on, which may perhaps bring to light more particulars.

The recently found treasure trove has been described as priceless by the team of archaeologists that made the discovery.

A stunning discovery has been made in the mountains of Kazakhstan. Researchers have uncovered around 3,000 gold and precious-metal objects in a remote burial mount, hidden deep within the remote Tarbagatai mountains in Kazakhstan, local media reported.

It is believed that “incalculable” treasure belonged to members of the royalty or the nobility of the Saka people, who dominated Central Asia eight centuries before the birth of Christ. Researchers recovered bell-shaped gold earrings, golden plates, buckles for clothing, chains, and necklaces with precious stones.

But in addition to the fact that the amount of item caught experts by surprise, researchers shave been left awestruck by the precision with which these jewels were manufactured.

The head of the East-Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov said: “This find gives us a completely different view of the history of our people.”

The ancient civilization clearly had sophisticated and advanced skills in mining, or extraction, selling and jewelry making, Akhmetov explained.

“We are the heirs of the great people and great technologies,” he said.

Reports suggest that gold necklaces that decorate the clothes were made using sophisticated micro-welding techniques.

This shows great knowledge in the field of metallurgy and indicates an exceptional level for the time in terms of jewelry manufacturing skills.

This points to a highly sophisticated civilization.

According to researchers, the “steppe civilization” of the saka reached an extraordinary level, unlike anything researchers previously thought.

While experts have recovered the massive ancient treasure, they have still not found who it belonged to.

However, archaeologists expect that new excavations will reveal the owners of the treasure shortly.

Professor Zainolla Samashev, in charge of the excavations, said: “A large number of valuable finds in this burial mound let us believe a man and a woman are buried here – the reigning persons or people who belonged to the elite of Saka society.”

The Bermuda Triangle Mystery Has Been Solved

A team of British scientists from the University of Southampton believes they have solved the mystery of how ships go missing in the Bermuda Triangle. While their theory does not account for how planes seem to disappear in the area also known as the Devil’s Triangle, it may be the first plausible explanation for one half of the mystery. The Bermuda Triangle is a parcel of ocean in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean which stretches 700,000 square km (270,271 square miles) between Florida, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. Regarded as one of the most treacherous areas on Earth to travel, the Bermuda Triangle has claimed the lives of over 1,000 people in the past 100 years.

According to Fox News, the answer they have arrived at, while not as mysterious as the “electronic fog” or “methane gas” theories, is within the realm of reality. They believe the mystery of Devil’s Triangle ship disappearances can be chalked up to a phenomena known as rogue waves. A rogue wave is the product of at least two major weather systems converging on one another from opposite directions over open water. The phenomena had been theorized long ago; however, there was never any concrete evidence of their existence until 1997 when one was caught on satellite footage off the coast of South Africa. At that time, it was no longer a tale told by mariners, and it became a reality.

From the standpoint of a meteorologist, the Bermuda Triangle is the perfect cauldron to create a zone friendly for the convergence of major weather systems, which is what is necessary to create rogue waves. The region experiences storms that sweep through on a regular basis that are formed to its north and south. That alone has the potential to create a rogue wave; however, they may not be large enough to actually sink large vessels and can be chalked up to rough seas associated to the passage of any major system. The real danger lies within the convergence of systems from the north and south converging on a system coming in from Florida. That is when a rogue wave can potentially reach a height of 100 feet or more and be deadly, wreaking complete destruction on a massive ship in the space of two to three minutes.

Simulators have been created to mimic rogue waves, and the ship that was tested first against them was a replica of the USS Cyclops which disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle in 1918, claiming 306 lives. For reference, the USS Cyclops was a massive Proteus-class collier that was 542 feet long, with a displacement of 19,360 long tons. When she went down, she was hauling 10,800 long tons of manganese ore, and her loss resulted in the greatest U.S.N. loss of life on a ship that was not the result of combat. In simulators, scale models of the USS Cyclops are usually overcome with water within a few minutes and sink.

As simulators can’t exactly replicate nature 100 percent accurately, stress points on models are also studied and reveal the possibility that with certain angles of impact against flat-bottom ships, such as the USS Cyclops, it would be possible for a rogue wave to snap the ship in half. Because rogue waves only last for a few minutes, ships can be overtaken prior to getting mayday calls out, and there would be no physical indicators on the surface of the ocean to indicate the anomaly ever took place.

Dr. Simon Boxall, an ocean and earth scientist, concurred that the Bermuda Triangle is the perfect genesis location for rogue waves, as reported by News Australia.

“There are storms to the south and north, which come together. And if there are additional ones from Florida, it can be a potentially deadly formation of rogue waves. They are steep, they are high – we’ve measured waves in excess of 30 metres.”

While the entire scientific community isn’t sold on the theory just yet, it is generally agreed upon that this is the most scientifically plausible reason for Bermuda Triangle ship disappearances put forth so far, as per Accuweather.

Satellite Photo Shows A Round Object Beneath Water Off Greek Coast

Ufologists online have come into a frenzy after the discovery of a mysterious circular shape on satellite maps of Google. They are speculating that it could be a hidden submersible off the coast of Greece.

Website Disclose.TV, which posts information about aliens and UFOs, got the people’s attention after it published the circular object online. The unidentified submersible object was reportedly viewed online through Google Maps in the Aegean Sea.

The object is approximately 220 feet long using the ruler on Google Earth for the measurement. It is not established whether the UFO has ever been seen for real or just the image as a result of an optical illusion, such as a trick of the light.

Several folks offer their suggestion as to what the satellite imagery is showing. Many of them believe that the mysterious thing is newly-found evidence that we are not alone.

One commentator says that something here doesn’t belong. They describe the find as an impressive catch and would love to hear the official excuses on this one.

A second person states that it is indeed weird as nothing in the area looks remotely like that object.

A more skeptical commenter said that the shadow underwater could be from the old pier.

However, for now, the actual cause of the bizarre shape stays a mystery. Anyone can view the location on Google Maps here.

Space Agency Observes Strange Flashes Of Light On the Moon

Two great flashes of light were observed erupting on the dark side of the Moon. A sector of conspiracy theorists has suggested these lights could be alien UFOs.

On the nights of July 17 and 18, the Moon Impacts Detection and Analysis System (MIDAS) observed the bizarre phenomena.

MIDAS observatories in Spain search the Lunar surface on a daily basis for asteroid and meteor impacts.

According to the European Space Agency (ESA), the flashes were registered almost precisely 24 hours apart, apparently in pursuit of one another.

High-sensitivity CCD cameras capture detailed photographs of the bumpy surface of the moon that show the exact moment of impact.

Both MIDAS and the ESA agree the flashes were very much extraterrestrial in origin.

The force of impact is tremendous, but current estimate suggests that the extraterrestrial objects were no larger than the average walnut.

ESA said that transient flashes such as these are hard to study and challenging to determine the cause.

Three astronomical observatories in Spain work on behalf of the MIDAS project to scan the Moon for the transient flashes. They are equipped with powerful telescopes and CCD cameras to detect and try to identify the various impacts that rock the bright orb.

MIDAS believe that understanding these lunar impacts can help protect the Earth from similar dangers.

Up until the 2000s, little was known or written about this bounty of holes. But since he came upon his first one near Novo Hamburgo, Brazilian scientist Heinrich Frank has found more than 1,500 tunnels. Frank has found burrows that measure hundreds of feet long. Scientists have discovered one with branching tunnels that, when you measure the thing in its entirety, comes in at 2,000 feet long. It had to have been dug by many creatures over generations, not by one or two giant sloths.

The big open question is, Why? The tunnels appear to be much larger than any burrowing animal would need to get away from bad weather or hungry predators. As Frank tells Discover, "There's no explanation – not predators, not climate, not humidity. I really don't know."

A curious and credible Tweet from the Director of the Nuclear Information Project for the Federation of American Scientists, Hans Kristensen, on August 1, 2018 at 5:14 PM Washington D.C. time claimed that a, "Meteor explodes with 2.1 kilotons force 43 km above missile early warning radar at Thule Air Base."

The Tweet apparently originated from Twitter user "Rocket Ron", a "Space Explorer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory". The original Tweet read, "A fireball was detected over Greenland on July 25, 2018 by US Government sensors at an altitude of 43.3 km. The energy from the explosion is estimated to be 2.1 kilotons." Rocket Ron's Tweet hit in the afternoon on Jul. 31.

The incident is fascinating for a long list of reasons, not the least of which is how the Air Force integrates the use of social media reporting (and non-reporting) into their official flow of information. As of this writing, no reporting about any such event appears on the public news website of the 12th Space Warning Squadron based at Thule, the 21st Space Wing, or the Wing's 821st Air Base Group that operates and maintains Thule Air Base in support of missile warning, space surveillance and satellite command and control operations missions.

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory did provide a Tweet with a screenshot of data showing record of an object of unspecified size traveling at (!) 24.4 Kilometers per second (about 54,000 MPH or Mach 74) at 76.9 degrees' north latitude, 69.0 degrees' west longitude on July 25, 2018 at 11:55 PM. That latitude and longitude does check out as almost directly over Thule, Greenland.

When you look at NASA's Near Earth Object (NEO) Program database for objects entering the atmosphere you see that, "The data indicate that small asteroids struck Earth's atmosphere - resulting in what astronomers call a bolide (a fireball, or bright meteor) - on 556 separate occasions in a 20-year period. Almost all asteroids of this size disintegrate in the atmosphere and are usually harmless." That is a rate of one asteroid, or "bolide", every 13 days over the 20-year study according to a 2014 article by Deborah Byrd for Science Wire as published on EarthSky.org.

But there are exceptions.

You may recall the sensational YouTube and social media videos of the very large Chelyabinsk meteor that struck the earth on Feb. 15, 2013. Luckily it entered the earth's atmosphere at a shallow trajectory and largely disintegrated. Had it entered at a more perpendicular angle, it would have struck the earth with significantly greater force. Scientists report that Chelyabinsk was the largest meteor to hit the earth in the modern recording period, over 60-feet (20 meters) in diameter. Over 7,000 buildings were damaged and 1,500 people injured from the incident.

What is perhaps most haunting about the Chelyabinsk Meteor and, perhaps we may learn, this most recent Thule, Greenland incident, is that there was no warning (at least, not publicly). No satellites in orbit detected the Chelyabinsk Meteor, no early warning system knew it was coming according to scientists. Because the radiant or origin of the Chelyabinsk Meteor was out of the sun, it was difficult to detect in advance. It arrived with total surprise.

Northern Russia seems to be a magnet for titanic meteor strikes. The fabled Tunguska Event of 1908 was a meteor that struck in the Kraznoyarsk Krai region of Siberia. It flattened over 770 square miles of Siberian taiga forest but, curiously, seems to have left no crater, suggesting it likely disintegrated entirely about 6 miles above the earth. The massive damage done to the taiga forest was from the shockwave of the object entering the atmosphere prior to disintegration. While this recent Thule, Greenland event is very large at 2.1 kilotons (2,100 tons of TNT) of force for the explosion, the Tunguska Event is estimated to have been as large as 15 megatons (15 million tons of TNT).

It will be interesting to see how (and if) popular news media and the official defense news outlets process this recent Thule, Greenland incident. But while we wait to see how the media responds as the Twitter dust settles from the incident, it's worth at least a minor exhale knowing this is another big object that missed hitting the earth in a different location at a different angle and potentially with a different outcome.
