Solidarity with Palestine
The words might raise many questions within the reader but things might be more shocking when you pass through the sad details of the real story I will tell here. Indeed this solidarity movements came as a result of the Israeli decision to build the discriminating wall that separates Palestinians lands in the West Bank from Israeli areas. The wall cuts much of the Palestinian lands, damages many of the olive trees upon farmers live there. People from all over the world demonstrate each Friday to show their oppositions to that bad wall, any how the story I will tell now didnt take place in the West Bank but in the Gaza strip where I live. Exactly in a big refugees camp which is called Rafah where about 150 thousand people live. This camp is so close to the Egyptian borders. It was 5 years ago when the Israeli tanks and bulldozers attacked that area as always, the bulldozer moved to destroy a poor house of a poor family when Rachel Kury, an American lady who sympathizes with the Palestinians, stood against the bulldozer hoping to stop that brutal action, the TV was taking direct pictures of the scene, the bulldozer continued and came over Rachel Kury and she died in her blood. The scene was extreme tragic and shocking for all the people in Palestine, so everyone came out demonstrating and showing anger for what happened, people here made a big death ceremony for the victim and she was buried here in the Gaza strip. Her family came from the USA to share in the ceremony, her dad gave a moving speech that brought tears to all eyes in the audience . They come here each year to share in her memorial, each year, people in the Gaza strip go to her grave to add more flowers . Rachel Kury is considered a great symbol of solidarity and freedom for all Palestinians here . We hope her sweet pure soul rest happy and safe in the land of the poor Gaza strip.
