THE INVISIBLE ALTIMETER EROR ??
During the SAFETY EVALUATION for the RVSM above FL290 from 2000 ft to 1000ft there was
research done on the ALTIMETERS precision in CRUISE FLIGHT
Via using groundinstalations GMU's the reel altitude was measured on a number of locations in
EUROPA by EUROCONTROL and in the USA by FAA
This is the raison thad al AIRPLANE operating in RVS AIRSPACE require a RVSM APROVAL
after beeing verified by a GMU
Recently there are extreme ERORS detected up to 800 FT
This are INVISIBLE ALTIMETER ERORS who are NOT VISIBLE to;
-THE CREW
-THE ATCO
-THE TCAS will react on WRONG INFORMATIONS
This was the SUBJECT from a WORKSHOP in HQ EUROCONTROL organised by
EUROCONTROL and FAA in vieuw to introduce this toward ICAO at GLOBAL LEVEN??
