Een vraag die vele Senioren mij stellen betreft de veiligheid van het vliegen.
Uit de gegevens van IATA blijkt dat er in 2006 in het HANDELSLUCHTVERVOER er 800 doden waren voor het vervoer van 2.200.OOO.000 pasagiers waar in 1946 er 800 doden waren voor 9.000.OOO vervoerde pasagiers.
Whe are intrested to obtain feed-back from FI's who are involved in BASIC FLIGHT training in VFR on pilots without any experience and using aircraft with a GLAS COCKPIT
I have the impression:
The LOOK OUT is decreasing.
The need to READ the information is less direct then with the clasical analogue instrumentation where at a glance whe have the visual aqusition of the information
How wil;l be the quality of a pilot trained with a GLAS COCKPIT when flying a AIRPLANE with a CONVENTIONAL INSTRUMENTATION

Although I ame promoting GENERAL AVIATION & AERIAL WORK at GLOBAL level do I feel a little upset thad whe are promoting EU-FTO who are involved in their operation outside the EU memberstates
At EU level I have the feeling thad whe must promote and give PRIORITY to the use of EU FTO who are doing their operations inside the EU and are creating JOBS in the EU AVIATION area.

As many of you are awre there are propositions to have each pilot or student pilot to be subject to a SECURITY INVESTIGATION.
However I was made aware of a person who aplied for a job an the AIRSIDE of a INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT to be issued a SECURITY BADGE within 30 minutes , when this person dit not speak any of the usual languages being in use at this aerodrome DUTCH,FRENCH,GERMAN or ENGLISCH and was assisted by a translater for the administrative requirements.
How is this person going to be aware of the SAFETY requirements on the AIRSIDE and where is the SECURITY evaluation ???
Een vraag die zich stelde hoe het plassen gebeurt in een licht vliegtuig tijdens de vlucht??
Als operationeel piloot hadden wij de gewoonte bij lange verplaatsingen steeds te gaan plassen voor de vlucht en in de mate van het mogelijke voerde ik nooit geen vluchten uit van meer dan 3 tot maximum 4 uur en , maakte een tussenlanding om even de beenen te strekken, te tanken en de natuurlijke behoeften te voldoen.

Naar we vernemen gaat de commisaris BARAUT nu trachten van het EP te bekomen dat de 2 miljard die nodig is om GALILEO operationeel te maken en dus 100% van het EU BUDGET inplaats van het origineel PPP structuur met 50% van het EU-BUDGET en 50% van de PRIVAAT INDUSTRIE. heden werdt er reeds 1,2miljard gebruikt.
Men voorziet nu de 33 SATELIETEN in de lucht te hebben in 2010 en zodoende dit EU-GNSS operationeel te hebben in 2013
