Animals Today heeft samen met Stichting Dier&Recht heftige beelden gemaakt van de paardenmarkt in Hedel. In de video is te zien hoe de dieren in paniek zijn en ruw worden behandeld.

Harde muziek en feestend publiek

“De paarden ervaren extreem veel stress door de totaal ongeschikte locatie bij een kermis met harde muziek en feestend publiek,” aldus de stichting. “De paarden worden aangevoerd in overvolle transportwagens, Hierdoor raken ze extreem gestrest en verwonden ze elkaar soms tot bloedens toe. Paarden worden al vallend en steigerend de wagens uit gesleurd, aan de staart opgetild en geslagen.”

Volgens de stichting zijn er vier inspecteurs van de Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit en een dierenarts van de paardenmarkt, speciaal aangesteld om te controleren op dierenwelzijn, maar zij “ondernemen vrijwel niets”.

Dierenbescherming

De Dierenbescherming meldt in een reactie op de beelden dat ze al jaren strijden om een einde te maken aan paardenmarkten.

JOHN BARRY
John Barry Prendergast, (3 November 1933 -- 30 January 2011) was an English film score composer. He is best known for composing 11 James Bond soundtracks and was hugely influential on the musical style of the 007 series, along with the general feeling of the films.
In a career spanning almost 50 years, Barry received numerous awards for his work, including five Academy Awards; two for Born Free, and one each for The Lion in Winter (for which he also won a BAFTA Award), Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves (for which he also won a Grammy Award) and Somewhere in Time (1980) (Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Original Score -- Motion Picture).

Eind September kreeg ik een vage pijn links in mijn rug en kon niet goed meer rechtop lopen, ook wat vage spierpijnen maar na een week waren die voorbij en ging ik welgemoed met de honden naar behendigheidstraining.

Het regende behoorlijk en werd nat tot op mijn huid, maar dat kwam wel vaker voor dus toen ik thuis kwam trok ik droge kleren aan, maar bleef het maar koud houden en 's avonds had ik flink koorts mijn rug- en schouder spieren waren helemaal verkrampt en deden vreselijke pijn.

Ook mijn nekspieren deden pijn en ik kon mijn hoofd niet meer bewegen.

Had flinke koorts.

Moest doorlopend braken en was doodmoe.

Nam paracetamol maar dat hielp niet. Krimpend van de pijn kroop ik mijn bed uit trok me op aan de wasbak maar kon niet meer op mijn rechterbeen staan, de knie was 3 x zo dik en warm en gezwollen.

Ik moest bij de dokter naar binnen worden gesleept en uit de stoel getrokken, ik was doodziek.

De volgende dag moest ik een bloedonderzoek laten doen in het wijkgebouw, dat was een marteling, kon de trappen niet op, lange gangen doorstrompelen.

Het liefst was ik ergens op de grond gaan zitten huilen, want kon ook niet vinden waar het was.

Werd getest op MS, Leukocieten, enz.

Uit de test bleek dat ik een extreem hoog aantal witte bloedcellen had, wat duidt op ontstekingen.

Ondertussen was mijn andere knie ook ontstoken, mijn enkels, polsen en kon ik zelfs mijn handen niet meer bewegen.

Het leek op acute rheuma, maar was het niet, ik kreeg echter wel de medicijnen hier voor en die maakte het braken nog erger.

Het ging wel de pijn en ontstekingen tegen.

De vreemde ziekte greep aan op mijn gewrichten en spieren, die verdwenen.

Ik kon mijn arm voor de zon houden en dan keek je er dwars doorheen je zag alleen nog het bot.

Na een maand niet eten en 10 kg minder begon ik heel voorzichtig kleine hapjes cottage cheese te eten.

Kon weer staan op trillende benen, mijn spieren wilden niet meer en was behoorlijk verzwakt.

Zelfs een kopje optillen ging met trillende handen.

Vele weken later kan ik weer kleine stukjes met de honden lopen .

Eten en drinken is nog moeilijk.

Drink alleen bronwater, kraan water maakt me misselijk.

Geen koffie of thee, hooguit een beetje biologische kruiden thee.

Vruchten op sap en lichte vega hapjes en bladgroenten. 

Roken is gedaan, de lucht alleen al maakt me misselijk.

Mijn hele lichamelijke huishouding is totaal veranderd, maar ben zo blij dat ik er nog ben en weer een beetje voort kan !

AMSTERDAM - Twee jaar geleden werd de licht verstandelijk beperkte Defia (18) in een winkel aan de Amsterdamse Nieuwendijk verkracht door een Afghaanse vluchteling. Zaman S. (toen 36) werd op 18 juli veroordeeld tot twintig maanden cel; een lagere straf dan gangbaar is, omdat hij anders zijn verblijfsvergunning kwijt zou raken. De vader van het slachtoffer is woest.
