Halloween is niet alleen leuk voor mensen, maar ook voor dieren. Of toch vooral de pompoenen die bij het griezelfeestje horen...

Een witte leeuw en leeuwin in het Nederlandse Ouwehands Dierenpark krijgen pompoenen om mee te spelen en in te bijten.

Een groot succes zo blijkt: de leeuw zette er gretig zijn tanden in, en de leeuwin gebruikte de pompoenen vooral als manier om haar nagels te scherpen.

De zilverruggorilla Jono gooit er liever mee in de zoo van Cincinnati. Maar niet voor de pompoen half opgegeten was, of liever: de vulling in de maag was verdwenen.

Elk jaar kunnen de gorilla's in Cincinnati Zoo op 'pompoenenjacht'. De pompoenen zjin gevuld met allerlei lekkers zoals zaden, rozijnen en appels

Voor de stokstaartjes is een pompoenlantaarn vooral een tof speelgoedje. Op, in, door... alle manieren worden onderzocht.  (br.hln)
