De reis van de Australiër Les Price naar Ierland is niet rimpelloos verlopen. Omwille van zijn gewicht - de man weegt 235 kilo - was hij verplicht om twee zetels in het vliegtuig te kopen. Dat zijn nu eenmaal de regels die de niet nader genoemde luchtvaartmaatschappij hanteert voor mensen die zwaarder zijn dan 125 kilogram. En dat liep goed fout.

Op de heenreis bleek dat de 43-jarige Price een zitje aan het raam en eentje aan de gang kreeg toegewezen op een rij met drie zetels. Dat probleem kon vrij eenvoudig opgelost worden dankzij we welwillende passagier die de middenste stoel graag afstond aan meneer Price.

De terugreis verliep echter minder vlot voor de werkloze weduwnaar. Daar bleken de twee stoelen van Les Price zich op rij 17 en rij 19 te bevinden. Er was nogal wat improvisatie nodig vooraleer de man zich kon neervleien en het vliegtuig kon opstijgen.  (br.hln)
