Groene thee beschermt tegen aids
Een stof in groene thee beschermt vrouwen tegen aids omdat het voorkomt
dat sperma de gezonde cellen infecteert. Uit recent Duits onderzoek
blijkt dat het bestanddeel in vaginale gels gebruikt kan worden.
Groene thee De
onderzoekers toonden aan dat sperma een proteïne bevat dat hiv helpt te
transporteren en gezonde lichaamscellen binnen te dringen. Nu blijkt
dat een stof in groene thee, EGCG, dit proteïne aanvalt. Volgens de
onderzoekers betekent dit het bestanddeel beschermt tegen een infectie.
De moleculen zorgen dat het sperma de cellen niet infecteert en ze
brengen ook geen schade aan het lichaam toe.
Derde wereld Wetenschappers
onderzoeken al jaren naar een vaginale gel die vrouwen beschermt tegen
een hiv-infectie tijdens seks. Deze zou vooral gebruikt worden in derde
wereldlanden omdat vrouwen daar vaak hun man niet durven te verplichten
om een condoom te dragen. Uit tests blijkt dat medicatie in combinatie
