"IJsberen sterven niet uit"
Als de temperatuur blijft stijgen, zullen de poolkappen blijven
smelten, zal het zeeniveau stijgen en zullen steden onder water
verdwijnen. Ook voor de ijsbeer ziet het er niet goed uit, want het
dier ziet het ijs letterlijk van onder zijn poten verdwijnen. Dat is
het scenario waarvoor wetenschappers ons al jaren waarschuwen, maar
volgens een nieuw boek klopt daar niets van. In 'Warming And Other: The
Truth About All Those Science Scare Stories' stellen de auteurs de
theorieën over het einde van de wereld ernstig in vraag.
Global warming Professoren
Stanley Feldman en Vincent Marks onderzoeken in hun boek "de feiten"
achter global warming. Zo geloven ze dat de mens niet de grootste
verantwoordelijke is voor global warming. De zon zou meer warmte
uitstralen en zo de temperatuur doen stijgen. De Golfstroom zou ook
sterker dan ooit zijn en dus geen hinder ondervinden van de stroom van
koeler water.
IJsberen IJsberen sterven
volgens de auteurs ook niet uit. Net zoals pinguïns zijn ze uitstekende
zwemmers. Het aantal ijsberen zou sinds 1950 zelfs meer dan verdubbeld
zijn. Ze stellen zelfs dat global warming op lange termijn goed voor
ons kan zijn. Een warmer klimaat is immers goed voor de landbouw.
