Geitjes na twee dagen gered van twintig meter hoge richel


Bewonderenswaardig hoe ze bijna twee dagen stokstijf op de 15 centimeter brede richel bleven staan.


Deze twee jonge geitjes mogen niet mopperen over hun beschermengel. Bijna twee dagen bengelden ze op een smalle richel twintig meter boven de grond. Via een hoogwerker konden de diertjes uiteindelijk op de begane grond gebracht worden.

De reddingsoperatie vond plaats aan een rustige snelweg in zuid-Montana. Een eerste tip leverde niets op omdat er verwarring bestond over de exacte locatie. Pas de dag erna -na nieuwe info van een beller- werd de hachelijke situatie van de geitjes duidelijk.

"De hele tijd dachten we dat ze eraf zouden vallen", aldus Sandy Church van dierenrechtenorganisatie Humane Society. "We zoeken in eerste instantie de eigenaars, maar als dat niet lukt is ook een adoptie mogelijk. Het zijn net baby's. Iedereen houdt van een dier met een verhaal."
