Elektriciteit in België dubbel zo duur als in buurlanden
Elektriciteit is in België tot twee keer zo duur als in de
buurlanden. Dat concludeert consumentenorganisatie Test-Aankoop uit een
grootschalige studie van de energiemarkt.
De verschillen zijn het grootst voor wie weinig elektriciteit verbruikt.
Een alleenstaande met een jaarlijks verbruik van 1.200 kWh betaalt in
België, afhankelijk van de regio, tussen 200 en 300 euro bij de
goedkoopste energieleverancier. In Nederland en Groot-Brittannië is dat
slechts 100 tot 150 euro. De verklaring voor die enorme
verschillen moet volgens Test-Aankoop worden gezocht bij het falende
groenestroombeleid in België, maar ook en vooral bij de
distributienetbeheerders. "Die zijn in België goed voor 30 tot 40
procent van de eindfactuur en hanteren onverklaarbaar grote
prijsverschillen per regio", zegt Ivo Mechels van Test-Aankoop. De
netbeheerders hebben hun prijzen sinds de liberalisering van de markt
in 2004 verhoogd met liefst 45 procent, terwijl de index slechts met 17
procent is gestegen. De consumentenorganisatie is voorstander van
prijscontrole door de regulator. "Er is nog steeds een gebrek aan
concurrentie op de Belgische energiemarkt, dus prijscontrole is
geoorloofd" concludeert Mechels. Op de website van Test-Aankoop is een prijsvergelijker per regio beschikbaar voor alle consumenten. (br.hln)
