Belgische zanger Jean Vallée (72) overleden

Jean Vallée, die op 2 oktober 1941 geboren werd als Paul Georges M. J. Goeders, is vanochtend overleden aan de gevolgen van kanker. Dat meldt de website van de Franstalige krant La Libre Belgique.
Vallée mocht ons land twee keer vertegenwoordigen op het Eurovisiesongfestival. In 1970 behaalde hij de achtste plaats met 'Viens l'oublier'. In 1978 deed hij het nog beter met 'L'amour ça fait chanter la vie', waarmee hij tweede werd. Dat zou tot 1986, toen Sandra Kim de eerste plaats pakte met 'J'aime la vie', zo'n acht jaar de beste Belgische prestatie blijven.
In 1999 werd hij tot Ridder in de Kroonrode geslagen door toenmalig koning Albert II. (br.hln)
