Western style rode back into fashion this FW20 season
The influence of 18th century Western world finds its way to the latest fashion trends. Prairie dresses, cowboy boots, fringes and cow prints lead this season's runways.
The prairie dress
There's different takes on what the ultimate prairie dress looks like, but a typical item is mostly defined by a high neckline, long skirt, long sleeves and ruffled details. Typically, the dress comes in floral designs, referring to the actual flowers at a prairie, but in modern times the prints can be all kinds. The dress usually has a loose fit, making it the ultimate item to dress up yet feel comfortable.
Western boots
A Western inspired look is never fully complete without the right pair of boots. Combining the floral, loose dress with a real cowboy boot means going for the full on so-called 'yeehaw' outfit. Opting for a more neutral, high-heel boot will give the outfit a more sophitsticated look.
Petite Prairie
Even the little one's can't escape the trend. The ruffles, prints and fits make for an extremely fashionable and playful look.
