TOMMY HILFIGER LAUNCHES SUPPORT OUR SOUND PROJECT
The TOMMY JEANS initiative uplifts and promotes artists impacted by COVID-19. Tommy Hilfiger, which is owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], announces the Fall 2020 TOMMY JEANS ‘Support Our Sound’ project designed to uplift and promote upcoming musicians whose bookings have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Embracing the brand’s music heritage, the project celebrates the passion and drive exhibited by the next generation of emerging talent. TOMMY JEANS ‘Support Our Sound’ centers around partnerships with local music industry leaders from Amsterdam, London, Paris, Berlin and Barcelona, who will amplify upcoming musicians through their social media platforms. The local partners and musicians will also contribute to a TOMMY JEANS co-branded, collaborative collection of sweaters, T-shirts and hoodies. The ‘Support Our Sound’ co-branded collection will drop in Europe online at tommy.com on October 16, 2020.
The TOMMY JEANS ‘Support Our Sound’ partners are deeply rooted in their local music scene, providing local artists access to relevant, wider audiences. Alongside @TommyJeans social media coverage, each partner will also create and share content featuring upcoming musicians on their social media platforms. Partners and activations include:
• Amsterdam (October 20 & 24): Record label, Noah’s Ark, and rapper, Sor, will host a Q&A and share content featuring Sor in studio recording his latest track. Follow along at @NOAHSARK and @YOUNGGSOR.
• Berlin (October 22): Partnering with music collective, Home Again, and members of its talent roster including Home Again founder and DJ, Thabo; DJ Thalo Santana; DJ and Producer, Meggy; and DJ and Producer Sandilé. Home Again will create a tutorial with DJ Thalo Santana showing how to build a beat and DJ, and produce video content dedicated to Berlin’s contemporary electronic music scene. • London (October 23): Talent discovery platform Future Bubblers, broadcast on Worldwide FM, will host a two-hour, radio show dedicated to ‘Support Our Sound,’ starring artists KinKai, Tyson and Pip Millett. • Barcelona (October 28): Hip-hop themed club night, RazzmatazzXFuego, will host a digital event featuring international DJs Steve Lean, DJ Alvva and DJ and club producer, Yibril Rue. Follow along at @RAZZMATAZZCLUBS and @FUEGORAZZMATAZZ.
• Paris (Date To Be Announced): Video media platform, Mad, will release a Par Coeur karaoke and On Se Connait video with artist Tessa B., as part of a series in which the media platform introduces creative need-to-knows to their following. Follow along at @MADOFFICIEL.
The TOMMY JEANS ‘Support Our Sound’ co-branded collection will feature the iconic TOMMY JEANS logo alongside the logo of each local partner across sweaters, T-shirts and hoodies. Each piece will be upcycled from the brand’s overstock supply, continuing the brand’s mission to reduce impact, without compromising quality. The fearured partner logos will be embroidered by A Beautiful Mess, who won the 2019 TOMMY HILFIGER Fashion Frontier Challenge, a global program that aims to support entrepreneurial start-up and scale-up stage businesses developing solutions that promote inclusive and positive change in fashion. In line with Tommy Hilfiger’s Make it Possible mission to Waste Nothing and Welcome All, A Beautiful Mess is a social enterprise that works to create a safe space, as well as economic and social independence for those with a refugee background.
