National Work From Home Day - 19 September 2019
Ah the perks of working from home! Nobody cares about your bad hair day, the office phone is non existent, no loud colleagues - #sorrynotsorry - and last but not least: pyjamas all day every daaaaaay! Wait, what?!
You know that's not a good idea. Working from home is the dream situation for millions of workers, but sometimes it can be hard to focus on the main goal: actually working ;)
To make sure you embrace the freedom of remote work with the right attitude we have compiled our favorite #workfromhome tips.
1.Go to bed on time the day before :
"I'm gonna party like it's 1999", on a Thursdaaaay! That's a big nono. Go to bed on time like on any other day and don't forget to set the alarm. Structure is key!
2. Create a clean but personal work space :
Is there a clean desk policy at work? At home you have the liberty to pimp up your desk with some flowers, a personal photo and maybe even some Hello Kitty post-its. Do make sure you invest in enough storage room to keep things organized. And make sure that you keep away from personal stuff like bills and gossip magazines. Investigating Lady Gaga's love life is only on your after work to-do-list!
3. Insert a make-up free day and take care of your skin :
Unless you have scheduled a Skype call with a client, you can spend the whole day make-up free. Take care of your skin and try out a new beauty product. You don't have to spend an hour in the car to go to work, so take this moment to invest in a facial mask or a scrub.
4. Tone your body while typing :
Try on a massage sports tights. The high-tech power fabric texture with 3D raised dots massages and tones the tissue and muscles. Comfy and cute to wear at home and ideal for a quick midday run. No more excuses!
5. Wear comfy clothes but get out of those pyjamas :
As much as you love your 'Don't mess with me' dress and killer heels combo, it is now the perfect moment to give your body some rest. Do however avoid to wear pyjamas. It will remind you too much of bed and you will want to take naps every 5 minutes. Comfy chic is the way the go. Thank god that athleisure has become a wardrobe basic and is even suitable for those mini errands to the store or a quick lunch break.
6. Don't forget to take a break!
Oh my god. You are WORKING IT from home. Totally in the flow. No social pressure, just you and your press release! And then all of a sudden: writer's block. How did that happen?
Don't forget to take a break! Go out for lunch, or go for a walk. Indulge in a fancy cafe latte.
Ok and if you really want to read upon Gaga's love life: take the magazine to another room and come back in 30 minutes... Promised right?!
